DVD: Age Cannot Wither, Nor Custom Stale, All About Eve

Some movies are deadly accurate about capturing the way people really talk while others have an ear for how we wish everyone spoke all the time. And you can definitely sign me up for a world where the quips fly as fast, and the bitchery is as crisp, as in All About Eve (Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment). Sixty years after this Broadway-backstage comedy-drama snagged a Best Picture Oscar, it remains a sterling example of American movies at their smartest and most entertaining.

As you might have heard, Charlie Sheen has released a statement about his recent drug-and-porn binge and the subsequent rehab that has shut down production on the megahit Two and a Half Men . Robert Pattinson Laughs Off ‘Breaking Dawn’ Bed Photo

‘They just give it all away,’ ‘Twilight’ star says about honeymoon picture. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Summit Entertainment Twilighters went crazy when a still from the upcoming “Breaking Dawn” flick was released. What was all the hubbub about? The photo featured Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) in bed on their fictional honeymoon. So, how did Pattinson feel about it being one of the first official looks from the flick? “I love how they release that for the first one,” he told MTV News sarcastically Sunday (January 16) on the Golden Globes red carpet. “They just give it all away.” Well, giving it all away seemed to be the theme of the photo (since it appears to show the couple having sex), and fans were salivating over the idea of finally getting the chance to see Edward and Bella get down onscreen. Pattinson laughed about what was running through his mind while shooting that scene, and told us the sex scenes with Stewart were no more awkward than with other actresses, such as his “Bel Ami” co-star Uma Thurman. “It’s always awkward, in a way, doing it with anybody,” he admitted. “But at the same time … it really depends on how it’s staged and stuff. It’s like doing Twister.” Also on Sunday night’s red carpet, Pattinson’s movie dad, Peter Facinelli, revealed some details about filming the big “Breaking Dawn” fight scene, leaking how much longer the cast will be onset with director Bill Condon: “We’ve been shooting the last two weeks with a lot of vampires,” he said. “I don’t want to give away too much, but if you’ve read the books, it’s the standoff with lots of vampires in play. There’s like 70 people going through the works at once. It’s a little maddening, but fun,” Facinelli continued. “We shot pretty much the ending of the two movies the other day,” he added. “But we shoot until mid-April.” We’ve got the Golden Globes covered! Stick with MTV News for photos, videos, fashion and up-to-the-minute details from the awards show. Jared Lee Loughner Arrest Records, Bullying History: Revealed

On the day Barack Obama delivered a moving address at the Arizona memorial service for the victims of last week’s tragic shooting in Tuscon, new information about Jared Lee Loughner was revealed. According to police records, the 22-year old accused of killing six people and seriously wounding Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was arrested twice as a juvenile, once for marijuana possession and once for possession of alcohol. The first incident occurred in May 2006, when Loughner was admitted to the emergency room after consuming a bottle of vodka he later said he stole from his parents because he became “very upset after his dad yelled” at him. The second arrest took place in September 2007 following a traffic stop that resulted in cops discovering a joint in Loughner’s ashtray and a pipe in his pocket. Loughner was also the victim of bullying on more than one occasion. In September 2004, police were called to Mountain View High School after Loughner was “stuck with a pin – a stolen type needle, in the cafeteria,” according to official reports. Finally, in October 2008, Loughner contacted local police because he believed a former friend had posted a fake, disparaging MySpace profile about him. No action was taken, and none of this is meant as an excuse for Loughner’s alleged, horrific actions. It’s simply a look into the history of a seriously troubled young man.

Kanye West And Jay-Z Harness Social Media For Watch The Throne

After MCs serve up H.A.M. on joint album’s fan page, execs at Def Jam, Facebook reveal MCs’ social strategy to MTV News. By Jenny McCoy, with additional reporting by Rahman Dukes Kanye West at Facebook headquarters Photo: Facebook These days, among other things, the hip-hop release playbook requires an active Facebook account, a fact rap heavyweights Kanye West and Jay-Z are obviously aware of. Just after midnight on Tuesday (January 11), the MCs gave fans a first listen to “H.A.M,” the lead single from Watch the Throne — in exchange for a “like” on the Facebook page for their collaborative album. The Watch the Throne page uses Facebook’s most popular music application, BandPages, to stream the single, and it has amassed more than 57,000 fans in just three days. “It’s great to see artists turning to social platforms to get their music out to their fans. The music release process isn’t about radio play anymore — it’s about finding fans where they live, getting songs to the people who care,” said Brenna Ehrlich, news editor at Mashable.com. Indeed, this tactic is just another example of a growing trend in the hip-hop community and the music industry at large. “While people have been able to share their music tastes on Facebook since the beginning, and we saw the emergence of social music applications gain popularity when we opened our platform in 2007, we’re still just at the beginning of this new world of music and technology,” said Meredith Chin, a staffer at Facebook’s corporate communications department. “It will be exciting to see how things evolve over time based on the creativity and imagination of musicians and their fans.” And in the wake of MySpace, the self-proclaimed “entertainment destination for Gen Y,” announcing a 47 percent staff reduction , Kanye and Jay-Z’s release strategy is just another indication of Facebook’s growing share of the social music space. Recently, both Lil Wayne and Avril Lavigne offered fans similar single-stream capabilities, but Kanye and Jay-Z made their release distinctive by directing fans to an album-specific fan page rather than simply leveraging their existing pages, which are home to 5.4 and 6.1 million fans, respectively. “I think it was smart to launch their own page, but I would have used both accounts as well. That way fans would be able to easily find the track, rather than going to a brand-new page,” Ehrlich said. Representatives for Def Jam revealed to MTV News that the idea to release “H.A.M.” via social-media network came from none other than Hov. “It was Jay-Z’s camp who set that up,” said JD Anderson, manager of new media for Def Jam. “The application also used in the strategy, RootMusic, has the capability to stream music on Facebook.” According to Anderson, the two rappers took advantage of their massive combined Facebook following to showcase the first effort from the upcoming album.”We launched it off of Jay’s Facebook, then we were sending people to the Watch the Throne new page,” Anderson explained. “Kanye has 5 million and Jay has 6 million. Everyone’s on Facebook, so the only thing that was lacking was the capability to stream music.” While there’s still no concrete release date for Watch the Throne, a rep for Def Jam revealed the LP will drop on the Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam imprint. Jay-Z Joins Chicken Venture After Dropping ‘H.A.M.’

The hip-hop mogul is now an investor in his cousin’s Buffalo Boss restaurant in Brooklyn. By D.L. Chandler Jay-Z (file) Photo: Eugene Gologursky/ WireImage After amassing a huge fortune last year via record sales, book sales and several key investments, rap and entertainment mogul Jay-Z is winging it — literally. Just as his “H.A.M.” collaboration with Kanye West was dropping on Facebook, news broke that the 41-year-old Brookynite has invested in the Brooklyn-based chicken wing restaurant Buffalo Boss, teaming up with his mother, Gloria, and sister, Andrea in the new venture. Keeping things within the family, the fast food joint is currently co-owned by the rapper’s cousin Jamar White. “Yes, it’s all true,” White told MTV News confirming the news. “Jay supports us in all we do, that’s my big cousin right there.” The eatery does more than dole out saucy wings, fries, salads and soft drinks. According to TMZ , Jay-Z and Buffalo Boss recently teamed up to reward exceptional students at a nearby middle school with free eats. (However, a glance at the Buffalo Boss menu doesn’t exactly bode well for children and adults looking for healthy options.) The news that Jigga is investing in a chicken restaurant will come as a mild surprise to some fans as the rapper revealed to Oprah in 2009 that he doesn’t eat much in the way of the largely affordable meat as it reminded him of his former poverty. “We ate a lot of chicken, you know, because chicken’s cheap,” he said. “We had so much chicken — chicken backs, chicken everything … to this day, I can only eat small pieces or else I feel funny.” Related Photos Kanye West And Jay-Z: History In The Making Related Artists Jay-Z

Ricky Romance Threatens to Kill Chris Brown Over Raz B Comments

The Chris Brown-Raz B Twitter feud just turned violent. To sum up, Raz B (a former member of the group B2K) called Brown out for beating up Rihanna. Chris responded with a scathing, homophobic remark. Now Ricky Romance, Raz’s brother, posted a video online threatening to put a “mother f**king pistol” in Brown’s mouth if he sees him in L.A. Wow . Ricky Romance Threatens Chris Brown Ricky, also a singer instructs Chris to “Step your game up homeboy … when I see you my n**ga, I’ll smack you in the mouth, beat you, drag you down the street … treat you like a little b**ch my n**ga. This ain’t no motherf**king game.” “You ain’t welcome in L.A. If I catch you alone, watch what Im’ma do to you.” Undeterred, Chris Brown Twittered a response, “Ill be in LA REAL SOON!!!!!” Not sure how Omarion was dragged into this, but he has yet to comment. The repulsive remark Chris made that set Ricky off referred to Raz B claiming that he was molested by his band’s male manager back in the day. Still, death threats may be taking this one-upmanship a TAD far, no? Raz B’s rep says that “Raz wants to make sure everyone knows that what his brother says does not represent him. Those are just a brother’s tendencies to protect him.” “Raz B has already spoken to his brother and told him to chill out.” Of course, Raz B is still going at it, Tweeting to Chris hours ago: “Thats your history! you cant run from it! #WomanBeater !!!!! #WomanBeater !!!!!” Your move, Chris.
