Source: Paras Griffin / Getty Reports alleged Nick Cannon would be taking over The Wendy Williams Show but apparently that was all fake news, as the daytime host is set to make her big return to television on Monday, March 4. “ Wendy Williams is an incredible talent with the most unique voice in daytime,” the show’s production company, Debmar-Mercury, said in a statement on Thursday according to Page Six . “We can’t wait to welcome her back to her iconic purple chair on the set of her show.” Their statement went on to thank all those who’d filled in while Williams was out, reportedly treating Graves’ disease . “We so appreciate all of the guest hosts and panelists who filled in for Wendy during this time,” Debmar-Mercury continued, according to the site. “These people are, and always will be, true family to the show. And we want to thank all of the loyal and supportive fans who have been with us for 10 years now.” Separately Williams thanked the show’s producers, saying in her own statement “Salute to Debmar-Mercury for believing from the start and thanks to my staff for tirelessly holding it down for me.” Will you be tuning in on her first day back to work two weeks from now? It’s even more amazing when you remember that 18 years ago, Blockbuster had the chance to buy Netflix (the competitor that most agree put them out of business) for just $50 million. People.com recently reveled their “25 Most Beautiful People at 25 in 2011″ list with Ciara landing at the 23 spot. She’s holding it down for the sistas, as the only African-American woman to make the list. Ciara joins the list with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Amanda Seyfried, Lauren Conrad, Megan Fox, and Kendra Wilkenson. Ciara tells People.com that her approach to beauty is “Being beautiful is all in the attitude. It’s about confidence.” She’s been pretty busy lately modeling for Wilhemina and hanging out with besties Kim Kardashian and Lala. Funny that People.com titled Ciara as “Kim Kardashian’s BFF”. Flanigan/ Getty Images We heard it from Diddy earlier this week , and now Lil Wayne has confirmed it himself: The hip-hop rock star is doing all right as he serves his yearlong prison sentence at Rikers Island. On Wednesday morning (May 19), footage of Weezy phoning from jail to DJ Scoob Doo, urging him to release the video for “Steady Mobbin’ ” and talked about his recent “contraband” incident in jail . “I’m coolin’. Ya feel me. I’ll be home soon,” Wayne said in the video that shows Scoob talking to him on speaker phone. “If you worryin’, don’t worry too much, but keep worryin’. If you ain’t worried, then something’s wrong. But you know, it’s Nino Brown, I got the penthouse suite up here in Rikers, man. I got my feet up. Ya smell me. My team is still holding it down, man. They keepin’ the flood open. I already know how it go. “Ain’t too much, I got in a little trouble and whatnot, you feel me,” Wayne added about being caught with headphones and a MP3 charger. “Yeah, they tried to bang me with that. … But I can’t live without my music, Scoob. You know how it is, man. I needed my music. It’s all good. I had to take my little slip up. I ain’t trippin’. Players f— up.” Then the phone beeped. By Shaheem Reid Monica Photo: J Records Hot 107.9 in Atlanta continued to announce names for their annual Birthday Bash concert , taking place on June 19. A couple of weeks ago, the station trumpeted the names of Plies and Ludacris as their initial two performers — and on Thursday (April 29), a couple of more names on the roster were revealed. Holding it down for Miami will be Rick Ross, and bringing the hometown heat onstage will be A-Town’s own Monica. Ross is heavily in the process of promoting his forthcoming LP Teflon Don, while Monica basking in the success of her Still Standing LP , which debuted at #2 on the Billboard albums chart earlier this month. “It’s weird to me that people don’t recognize there’s room for new and old,” Monica said of those who were surprised by the album’s success. “For me, it was really weird because I’m 29 years old. To be written off by some was really mind boggling. I think that the album title has a lot to do with what was happening right now, even though that’s not the way I initially meant it. When I said ‘Still Standing,’ I meant personally — just being victorious and talking about personal triumphs, so it motivates the next person that might be going through it. After some of the things I read when I would say my album is coming — and you would have negative feedback — it felt so strange to me because I’m so young and have so much ahead of me.” The Birthday Bash Concert is set for June 19 at Atlanta’s Philips Arena.
