The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 9 Episode 2 Recap: Teresa Giudice Reignites Her Feud With Joe & Melissa Gorga

Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey reignited the feud between Teresa Giudice and her brother, Joe Gorga, and it looks like we’re in for a season of backstabs between the brother and sister.  If you watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online , you know the season premiere found Teresa opening up about Joe steering clear of their father in recent months, signaling that things were going south for the family.  “My brother used to be around more when my mom first passed away, and I’m really nervous to say anything to him because when I brought this up in the past, it got ugly,” Teresa explained of the situation in a confessional. “My brother and I have been doing really well for a while now, and I definitely don’t want history to repeat itself. Life is short. I just don’t want my brother to have any regrets.” In true Teresa fashion, she brought it up during a family gathering. Thankfully, she did not throw some tables. She’s learned from her mistakes.  Things started to get heated during the dinner party, with Joe’s father Giacinto yelling about his son not calling him, going as far as saying “F–k you” to him.  “Are you going to be around more for this one? He wants you around more,” she said. “The kid that’s not around the most, that’s the kid you always want.” Melissa who has feuded with Teresa in the past because of her association with her brother took to a confessional to complain about the whole thing.  “Who brings up a super sensitive, going-to-cause-a-problem conversation on Easter Sunday? Especially in front of my father-in-law, who is super upset as it is,” she asked. “This is definitely not the day, the time, the place. Like, your timing sucks.” “Not on Easter,” Melissa added. “This conversation gets my skin crawling because I get instant flashbacks of the pain that Joe went through years ago over conversations that were similar.” “I know my husband. When you push him, and you constantly say the same thing to him over and over again, I know he’s going to explode. Joe is a ticking time bomb. It’s going to happen.” Joe made it clear that he was getting sick of the way Teresa was acting.  “You gotta cut that out,” he snapped at Teresa. “You always bring that up in front of Daddy. ‘Oh you work too much, you’re not around.’ Listen to me, if I was sitting in a bar all day, if I was sitting in restaurants, that’s a different story. But what am I going to do? When you put in 15 hours a day, hard work? I’m exhausted.” “You know my life. You know the business, it’s crazy. I work hardcore, all day, every day, nonstop. Unbelievable stresses,” Joe added. “My business takes all my freakin time. Is he going to pay my bills? No one pays my bills. What am I going to do, just give it all up?” That was not all Teresa had to say, however.  “I’m just saying, he bitches to me all the time,” she complained. “I got to hear him! ‘Your brother don’t call me. It’s been five days.’“ “Since I’ve lost my mom, holidays are more emotional. I’m just trying to make the holiday as best as I can for my dad. I just want to make him happy. He needs that,” Teresa said, addressing the cameras. “Before I went away, I spent a lot of time with my mom. And right now all I can think about is how when I came home, I wished I spent more time with my mom. So it’s frustrating that my brother makes the effort to see my dad just on a holiday.” Teresa’s daughter, Gia, turned to her uncle Joe with her take on what was going on.  “It’s not fair,” said the teenager. “We get it so much from Nonno, you don’t even know. I know you have work, trust me, I know. But if you don’t call him for a day, he says something. … At least just try, in a week, just one designated day for Nonno.” But there was no getting through to Joe who maintained that he was a busy man.  “I don’t give a s—,” yelled Teresa. “You have to make time. In life, that’s how it is. Capeesh?” While the fighting simmered down and everyone enjoyed the rest of the day, Joe confirmed in a confessional that he was mad at his sister.  “Teresa was always like this when we were kids,” Joe admitted. “When it came to me, she would rat me out. Why are you still doing this? It’s going to cause a big problem again, which we don’t need.” As if that wasn’t enough drama, Margaret informed Danielle that she was going to an event hosted by Dolores and things got a little bit crazy.  “She invited me to this thing–,” said Margaret BUT Danielle butted in.  “And you coulda said, ‘No, I’m not coming because that will make Danielle very upset and very hurt. It’ll hurt her!’ Because you coulda said, ‘This would hurt me if the tables were turned.’ You coulda said anything but, ‘Yes, I’ll come.'” As Margaret tried to calm Danielle down, the former main cast member decided to storm off, but she came back with a parting shot: “What is it that you two really have in common? You cheated on your husband, and she got cheated on?” That has got to be one of the best one-liners in the history of the series, and just like that, it looks like another friendship is over.  What are your thoughts on all the drama? Six Family Members To ‘Mute’ Just Before The Holidays

Read more here:

Source: Eric Thayer for The Washington Post / Getty With Thanksgiving approaching, holiday season 2018 is practically upon us. And while many of you are spending your time wondering if canned collard greens are acceptable (they’re not!), we’d ask that you consider another highly important issue—your own peace of mind. As beautiful and heartwarming as the holidays can be, tons of folk dread having to reunite with family and friends they’d otherwise avoid. And with good reason—some of us are out here trying to live our best lives, progress, and be a lot less petty. Others (cough, cough) are stuck in that same old toxic bullsh*t. For National Stress Awareness Day today, we’re here to remind you: you absolutely don’t have to partake in any of it. You have the choice to opt out and do your own thing, or pick and choose which close ones you want to celebrate with. But, if you’re not quite there in life just yet and probably will end up at an awkward Thanksgiving dinner table full of judgment and drama, we created a list of folks you can mentally “mute” in order to maintain your sanity for the time being. You can also “mute” them on Instagram…just saying. It’s time to think about you, even if ever so slightly. The Unsolicited Advisor Whoever this irritating “consultant” is in your family or circle of friends, identify them, and put up a mental block pronto. If it’s you , stop being that person who’s constantly all up in everybody else’s business, when you can’t seem to get your own life together. Your opinion was not requested, nor does it help.  Damn sis, mind your business! Uncle Creepy If you watch Greenleaf , you know what we’re talking about. That suspect uncle who feels the need to keep commenting on how “grown up” you are—yea, stay away from him. Mooching Ass Moochie Everybody has that cousin who always seems to need something. You can barely have an interaction with Lil Tay Tay without him “trying to see if you got $20” he can “hold.” What does that even mean—are you requesting a loan or handout Lil Tay Tay? Either way, constantly giving your hard-earned money away can become overwhelming. Where your parents at, damn! The Unpredictable Drunk There’s always that uncle or auntie that doesn’t know when to stop drinking. Everyone’s just waiting on a fight to breakout, or that inevitable awkward outburst . Steer clear… with all that positive energy pouring from your veins, you’re sure to become a target this holiday season. Your Overstepping Auntie She needs no introduction. You just went full-time at your job, you barely have a bae, let alone a whole person to procreate with—but your auntie won’t stop asking things like “When you gon’ get married?,” “When you gon’ have a baby?”, “What you waiting for? You ain’t getting any younger.” She doesn’t mean any harm…smile and block her out. The Trump Supporter In times like these , there’s simply no reason to even entertain a person who thinks Trump is making America “great again.” If you’ve already firmly stated your stance on the issues at hand, make a mental note to mentally mute ’em. Jinger Duggar Shows Off Adorable Mother-Daughter Twinning Photo

Jinger Duggar has been treating Counting On fans to photos of her adorable little family . Now, she and husband Jeremy Vuolo are sharing a new photo. In it, she’s twinning with her 3-month old baby, Felicity. “Like mother, like daughter,” Jinger captioned the photo that you’re about to see. In it, the 24-year-old Duggar daughter is wearing a floral headband. Baby Felicity is wearing a matching headband — it’s just a smaller version for her tiny baby head. While they’re not otherwise in matching outfits, we think that it still counts as twinning. (Seriously, finding a baby outfit that matches adult clothing can be tricky) Besides, the picture is just too cute. This mother-daughter photo is so cute! This is the time of year for dressing up in a lot more than headbands, but the Duggar family does not celebrate Halloween. Michelle Duggar expressed her strong views in a blog post in 2011. “While we do go to pumpkin patches and corn mazes,” Michelle wrote. “We don’t do the Halloween thing.” You miss out on a lot of fun and a lot of culture when you grow up in the Duggar household. “From the beginning of our marriage we just kind of felt like we didn’t want to celebrate that holiday,” she shared. “But,” Michelle admitted. “We enjoy the harvest celebration.” “Our church fellowship has had different celebrations through the years that we’ve been a part of,” Michelle continued. Michelle wrote that these celebrations were “ones where the children can play games and receive candy and toys and do all kinds of fun things, like a cake walk.” Really, of course, the family’s reluctance to participate in Halloween stems from a desire to isolate the children from any cultural experiences that they consider unbiblical. In  Growing Up Duggar  by Jill, Jinger, Jessa, and Jana mention how seriously Jim Bob and Michelle take the supernatural. “One specific thing that our parents have always been careful about is magic,” the book says. “Which often shows up in children’s movies.” “As harmless as it may seem, it’s not a joke in God’s eyes,” the girls say. “Magic, sorcery, witches, spell-casting and the like are all part of the demonic realm that God wants us to stay away from,” the book continues. “No matter how ‘good’ a film containing magic may seem,” the girls warn. “God speaks seriously throughout the Bible.” The girls write that “it is not something to be glorified or portrayed by any means as something fun or attractive.” So we don’t think that Felicity will be going trick-or-treating when she gets older. Halloween, first of all, tends to glorify a lot of those things — you know, people dress as witches and ghosts. Also, the holiday itself is based upon an ancient religious festival of the Celtics, that involved honoring the dead while celebrating the year’s final harvest. While most see Halloween as fairly distinct from Samhain, which some still practice today, to the Duggars, it’s a spiritual threat. That said, Jeremy Vuolo has shown that he’s less strict than Jim Bob and Michelle. Just as Austin Forsyth viewed and reviewed the Marvel film, Thor , Jeremy has demonstrated that he doesn’t share their views. He believes that women can wear pants. Might he one day allow his daughter to dress up as Batgirl or as a princess? Maybe we’ll find out. For now, she’s a literal baby and is perfectly happy wearing a headband that matches her mother’s. Farrah Abraham: I’m Being a Bad Mom for Halloween!

It’s Halloween, y’all! Well, it’s the weekend before Halloween, but since most people can’t put on revealing clothes and party until the wee hours of the morning on a weekday, the holiday is being observed now. And oh, what a time it always is! Lots of celebrities take Halloween very seriously — Heidi Klum comes to mind, of course, and the Kardashians usually get into it in a different way. Then there’s Farrah Abraham. Brace yourselves for this one, friends, because it is rough . Last night, Farrah shared this video on Instagram: Farrah Abraham: Happy Halloween, Here are My Boobs! There she is with Sophia, and right away, you can see they’re all dolled up in wigs and elaborate makeup . “Happy Halloweeners,” Farrah begins, because she is the absolute worst. She explains that they’re getting ready to go out, which is “lit,” then shows off their fancy little bag. Except she’s clearly showing off her boobs, not the bag. Meanwhile, Sophia is in the background, moving her head and not smiling. The whole thing is really very uncomfortable , and as always, her followers were quick to call her out for it. “Your child is right there and you’re putting the camera to your boobs?” one of them asked. “Poor kid.” Another person shared the same sentiment, writing “Poor Sophia … she should be with kids her age not her skanky mom!!” Several people called her “disgusting” for doing all of this around Sophia, and lots of other people thought it was actually very sad. As one of her followers put it, “Sophia has no childhood.” It’s also sad in a different way — someone exclaimed “Omg if my mom dressed like that in public with me I would be so embarrassed.” Can you imagine? Like, can you really, honestly imagine what it would be like if Farrah Abraham was your mom ? “Poor Sophia” is right. To quote one more Instagram user, it’s “pathetic that you take your nine year old out to party with you cause you don’t have a man or any friends!” Because it seems like they did go out to party. If you listen closely — and if you can focus on anything beyond Farrah’s screeching — you can hear music. And if you were able to check out her Instagram story, you could see that she was definitely in a club last night. She was wearing the same costume, and she had that same “lit” bag. So … where was Sophia? Was she at the club, too, like this video we’re talking about now sort of implied? Was there some sort of family friendly party at the club before the real party started, and in this scenario, would Farrah’s exposed breasts count as “family friendly”? Did Farrah dump Sophia with a nanny to go trick or treating while she went to this event? Did Sophia just, like, wait in the car while Farrah had her adult fun? From the evidence we’ve seen so far, it’s hard to say what exactly happening. View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham Defends Parenting: I Swear I’m Not a Junkie OR a Porn Star! But from Farrah’s costume along, we have a good feeling it was pretty darn appropriate. Which is really just Farrah being Farrah, right?

Megyn Kelly Walks Back Idiotic Defense of Blackface

Megyn Kelly would like a mulligan. On Tuesday morning, the former Fox News host reminded NBC viewers where she used to work by sitting around with a few panelists and making a passionate defense for… … the use of blackface on Halloween? Yes. According to our records, this really was the random and racist hill on which Kelly decided to die for some reason. During the controversial segment on Tuesday, Kelly said it was perfectly alright when she was growing up for white people to dress up as black characters on October 31, speaking out against the Politically Correct Police these days who frown on such a thing. She used a really specific example to drive home her point, too. Back in April, an episode of The Real Housewives of New York featured cast member Luann de Lesseps going out for Halloween as Diana Ross . She received backlash for the outfit and then she apologized. Simple and understandable enough, right? Not to Megyn Kelly! “But what is racist?” Kelly asked, digging herself a deep grave by expounding as follows: “Because you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. “Back when I was a kid that was OK, as long as you were dressing up as, like, a character.” We’re pretty sure that last sentence is demonstrably false; there just wasn’t social media back in the day over which folks could voice their concerns about these types of costumes. After earning immediate flak from basically everyone with a pulse, Kelly issued an apology on Tuesday evening. Written as an internal note, a copy of which was provided by a spokesperson for NBC via Twitter, Kelly said the following: One of the wonderful things about my job is that I get the chance to express and hear a lot of opinions. T oday is one of those days where listening carefully to other points of view, including from friends and colleagues, is leading me to rethink my own views. Continued Kelly: When we had the roundtable discussion earlier today about the controversy of making your face look like a different race as part of a Halloween costume, I suggested that this seemed okay if done as part of this holiday where people have the chance to make themselves look like others. The iconic Diana Ross came up as an example. To me, I thought, why would it be controversial for someone dressing up as Diana Ross to make herself look like this amazing woman as a way of honoring and respecting her? I realize now that such behavior is indeed wrong, and I am sorry. The history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep. Yes, exactly. Kelly prides herself as a journalist and yet somehow didn’t realize previously that blackface — which was used in the late 19th century and early 20th century by white theater performers to mock and stereotype African-Americans – has an offensive history?!? Come on, Megs. As Melania Trump might say, try to be be better, okay? Try not to make it so clear that you want back on Fox News and are happy to show executives there while you still belong. Go ahead and search social media for the best responses to this scandal, but we’ll go with Top Chef Padma Lakshmi and her Tweet. This is what she wrote: “I cannot believe the ignorance on this in 2018. You are on national television. “You have a responsibility to educate yourself on social issues @megynkelly. This is so damaging.” Once aganin: Yes, exactly.

Tyler Honeycutt, Former UCLA Basketball Standout, Dead After Shootout with Cops

Tyler Honeycutt, a former star for the UCLA Bruins who played parts of two seasons in the NBA, was found dead on Friday inside his home after a violent standoff with the police. He was 27 years old. The details behind Honeycutt’s death are both sad and bizarre. The Los Angeles Police Department and L.A. Fire Department told USA Today, TMZ and other media outlets that a man with a firearm shot at officers around5p.m. on Friday, prior to barricading himself inside his Sherman Oaks, California home for nine hours. The SWAT team eventually arrived and entered the residence … only to find Honeycutt lying on the ground, unresponsive. On Saturday afternoon, the official LAPD Twitter account die not cite Honeycutt by name, but did provide an update on the situation from the evening before, writing: Regarding last nights Officer-Involved Shooting in Van Nuys Division, it appears as if the suspect was not struck by any officer’s gunfire. The suspect appears to have sustained injuries consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. TMZ reports that a gun was found inside the premises, near Honeycutt’s body, and it is presumed he took his own life. This same website says that Honeycutt’s mother was the person who called police Friday, saying her son was acting erratically on Friday. The former college star’s family has confirmed his passing to a local ABC affiliate, while his agent has done the same to the Russian team for whom Honeycutt had been playing professionally. No officers were injured in the altercation, according to LAPD. Meanwhile, several residents in the area had been evacuated as a precaution. Honeycutt earned All-Pac-10 First Team honors in 2011 as a sophomore, leading his team to the NCAA Tournament. He was then drafted by the Sacramento Kings in the second roundon tha NBA Draft, playing sporadically for two seasons with them, before heading to Europe to continue his career. He most recently played with Moscow’s BC Khimki. Former Kings teammate DeMarcus Cousins was one of several players to mourn Honeycutt’s death on social media, Tweeting this afternoon after the tragic news broke: “Prayers up for his family and friends. Rest easy bro!” Honeycutt’s coach at Khimki, Giorgios Bartzokas, was too overwhelmed to comment, saying simply when asked by reporters: “I am sorry I cannot talk right now, I am really sad.” Added New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday: “Still can’t believe this… Rest In Peace to my brother Tyler Honeycutt.” Our thoughts and condolences go out to the friends, family members and loved ones of Tyler Honeycutt.
