Michael Jackson’s Family Suing HBO Over Child Molestation Claims

A new documentary about the alleged sex crimes Michael Jackson made its debut at the Sundance film festival last month. With a runtime of over four hours, Leaving Neverland was only screened once, but despite its small audience, the film quickly became the talk of the festival. Neverland is set to make its broadcast debut on HBO in March, and according to a new report from TMZ, Jackson’s family is doing everything in its power to prevent that from happening. According to court papers obtained by the site, the Jacksons — who have already compared the film to ” a public lynching ” — have filed a $100 million suit against the network. Such a move is not uncommon in cases where a piece of journalism threatens major damage to the reputation of a rich and powerful person — even when that person is no longer living. What’s unusual in this case is that the Jacksons may have a valid case. TMZ reports that the family’s attorneys are not disputing the claims made in the documentary. Rather, they’re arguing that HBO relinquished its right to disparage Jackson in any way when it reached an agreement with the singer nearly 27 years ago. Back in 1992, HBO aired a concert special entitled Michael Jackson Live in Concert in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour. Jackson’s contract at the time required all major media partners to sign a very specific non-disparagement agreement. “HBO shall not make any disparaging remarks concerning Performer or any of his representatives, agents, or business practices or do any act that may harm or disparage or cause to lower in esteem the reputation or public image of performer,” reads a document reportedly signed by HBO execs. HBO’s lawyers will likely argue that the contract is voided by the fact that Jackson is dead and HBO is a radically different network now than it was in 1992. But no doubt the Jacksons have hired a legal dream team, and if there’s no expiration date on the contract, then they may succeed in burying Leaving Neverland — for now. Unfortunately for the Jackson estate, this is 2019 — an era with a virtually infinite number of media outlets. Which means the film is sure to find an audience one way or another. Tristan Thompson Shrugs Off Cheating Scandal: This is Just Who I Am!

Tristan Thompson is known for doing the dirty work on the basketball court. He sets screens. He crashes the boards. He dives to the basketball on a pick and roll. And the same thing can now be said about Tristan Thompson away from the basketball court, too. He’s a dirty player who lies, deceives and just hooks up with anyone that possesses boobs, regardless of the affect it might have on Khloe Kardashian. As you undoubtedly have read about by now,  Khloe finally dumped Tristan  after he was yet again caught cheating on her. This time, however, Thompson didn’t just go hard to the hole with some random Instagram models, as he was captured doing on camera in the fall of 2017. No: this time, he made an inappropriate post move with Jordyn Woods, Kylie Jenner’s best friend and a close acquaintance of his long-tine girlfriend. Multiple outlets have confirmed that Thompson went out with Woods and a bunch of people on Sunday night. He then invited this group back to his house to continue the party, but mostly focused his attention on the 21-year old he’s known for several months. The two sat on a couch for most of the evening, flirted a lot, allegedly made out and possibly did even more than that. After Khloe learned about what happened , she kicked Thompson to the curb. For good this time, we sincerely hope. Was it really surprising that Tristan would cheat again? No, not in our opinion. It’s just surprising he’d so with Woods, someone who has been a member of the Jenner-Kardashian inner circle for years. The stars had not been seen out in public since January 13 and Khloe has shared numerous cryptic quotes on Instagram about love over the past mont or so. This same tabloid source alleges that Thompson thought the romance was basically over, which is why his warped and self-centered mind didn’t think twice about entering Woods. “He doesn’t even think him hooking up with Jordyn is ‘bad’ because him and Khloé [Kardashian] were broken up in his mind. He just truly doesn’t care,” Us Weekly writes. Of course, even if Tristan and Khloe had officially called it quits prior to this hook-up, it barely gets the former off the hook. Is it really too much to ask of him not to bang a friend of his girlfriend’s within days of a split? Apparently it is in this case. Thompson and Kardashian attended Jordyn’s 21st birthday party together in September. Woods also modeled for Khloe’s Good American clothing brand. They were very tight and this is just an effed up situation all around. “Khloe loved Jordyn before this. This is completely shocking to Khloé’s family,” this insider adds. Christian Carino: Caught Cheating on Lady Gaga Prior to Breakup?!

For much of the past week, reports that Lady Gaga and Christian Carino have called it quits  circulated non-stop on social media. The singer’s solo appearance at the Grammys prompted the initial round of rumors, and today, it seems that the Gaga-Carino breakup has been confirmed . Neither party has spoken about the split directly, but statements from “insiders” have all the hallmarks of approved comments from reps. If we had to speculate, we would guess that Gaga wants to make the breakup official without distracting from the run-up to the Oscars, where she’s nominated for best actress for her role in A Star Is Born . Reps for Gaga — sorry, “sources” — have denied that there was any precipitous event that led to the split.  Instead, they’ve been pushing the agenda that the breakup is old news, and the couple simply grew apart. “It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end,” a source tells People magazine, adding that the pair split “a bit ago.” “There’s no long dramatic story,” the insider continues. According to a new report from Radar Online , however, Gaga ended the relationship abruptly after learning that Christian had been spotted in the company of a “mystery brunette” earlier this month. “Christian was sitting in the Sunset Tower restaurant on Friday night with a pretty brunette,” an eyewitness tells Radar. “They were holding hands and it looked like a romantic date.” The idea that Christian would conduct an affair so openly is a bit puzzling, obviously. Perhaps he didn’t think he would be recognized, or maybe he was just got caught up in a flirtatious moment. Whatever the case, it seems word of the encounter was enough to convince Gaga that Carino is not the guy for her. Or maybe the hand-holding and the breakup are unrelated. In any event, Gaga was a solo act as she walked the red carpet at the Grammys just days later. And it’s safe to assume she’ll be on her own at the Oscars on Sunday, as well. Gaga is not considered the favorite for the Oscar — most prognosticators have Glenn Close as the frontrunner — but this year’s field is pretty wide open. And of course, whether she goes home empty-handed or not, Gaga took a major step forward this year by proving that she has real chops as a dramatic actress. So despite her latest bad romance, we’re guessing the Mother Monster is still enjoying the final days of her Oscar campaign.

Jordyn Woods Justifies Banging Tristan Thompson: I Was Too Drunk to Remember!

Tuesday afternoon bore witness to one of the more unexpected celebrity gossip stories of the year, as the world learned that Khloe Kardashian’s baby Tristan Thompson was caught cheating on the reality star yet again. And this time, his partner in crime was no random NBA groupie. No, this time, Tristan cheated with Jordyn Woods , longtime BFF of Khloe’s youngest sister, Kylie Jenner. For Tristan, the fallout was swift and harsh, and insiders say his relationship with Khloe is now officially over. But believe it or not, Jordyn might have far more to lose. Sources say she was living in Kylie’s guesthouse at the time of her epic act of self-sabotage. Not surprisingly, it’s now being reported that Jordyn has been kicked out by Kylie and is currently holed up in a hotel. The Kardashian-Jenner clan was aware of Jordyn’s betrayal several days before TMZ broke the news to the public. And it seems that at first, Woods was cavalier in her attitude toward the situation. “I could love you and still cut you [the f-ck] off,” Jordyn tweeted. Now, however, it seems the 21-year-old is singing a different tune. Insiders say Khloe confronted Jordyn about the rumors after word got back to her from several attendees at the party where Jordyn and Tristan hooked up. “She needed to find out the truth,” a source tells Radar Online . “Khloe hears so many rumors about Tristan’s cheating — she wanted to know what had happened.” It seems Jordyn tried to wriggle out of the situation by relying on a common excuse. As Jamie Foxx and T-Pain so memorably counseled over a decade ago, she blamed it on the alcohol. “She told her she was drunk and doesn’t remember,” the insider claimed. No word on whether Jordyn’s tweet about cutting off the haters came before or after her confrontation with Khloe, but whatever the case, it seems she wasn’t quite as bold face-to-face. Woods is reportedly in damage control mode, but sources say it’s too late for her to salvage her relationship with the Kard clan. Already, Khloe and all of her sisters have unfollowed Jordyn on social media, which is the 2019 equivalent of the Mafia kiss of death. Jussie Smollett: Indicted for Felony, May Face Jail Time

Jussie Smollett is officially in major trouble with the law. About three weeks after the Empire star told police that he was savagely beaten by a pair of Donald Trump-loving racist, Smollett has been made a suspect by this same police force. Over the past several days days, there has been chatter that cops in Chicago believed Smollett orchestrated his own attack and then continually lied to the public and to authorities about what happened. Now, spokesman Anthony Guglielmi has Tweeted the following: Jussie Smollett is now officially classified as a suspect in a criminal investigation by #ChicagoPolice for filing a false police report. Detectives are currently presenting evidence before a Cook County Grand Jury. If Smollett is charged with the felony cited here, he could face up to three years in prison. UPDATE : Guglielmi has now Tweeted the following… Felony criminal charges have been approved by @CookCountySAO against Jussie Smollett for Disorderly Conduct / Filing a False Police Report. Detectives will make contact with his legal team to negotiate a reasonable surrender for his arrest. A Cook County Grand Jury handed down the indictment late Wednesday, after grand jurors heard testimonies and evaluated evidence. The details of this case have grown more troubling and bizarre each day. After initially receiving support and sympathy from friends, politicians and celebrities around the world due to his claim that he was a victim of a hate crime, Smollett is now the subject of extreme scorn. He was questioned on Wednesday by prosecutors from the Cook County District Attorney’s Office regarding various details of his assault explanation that simply do not add up. Perhaps more disturbing is this: Two brothers from Nigeria were briefly arrested by the police after surveillance footage depicted them in the area of the alleged beating around the time Smollett said it took place. However, these siblings formerly worked as extra on Empire. They’re pictured below: After speaking to these siblings, however, the cops released them without charging them with any crimes — and they released this statement in the process: “We can confirm that the information received from the individuals questioned by police earlier in the Empire case has in fact shifted the trajectory of the investigation.” It has since been reported that the brothers are cooperating with the police and pointing a finger at Smollett, alleging that he paid them to fake the assault and that they even rehearsed how it would go . TMZ writes that Smollett cut the brothers a check for $3,500, but he wrote “training” in the memo line. There’s also now video evidence of them purchasing supplies for the incident, presumably at the behest of Smollet. Smollett, who is openly gay, said late last month that two assailants taunted him with homophobic slurs around 2 a.m. and screamed that he was in “MAGA country.” He said they punched him, tied a rope around his neck and poured bleach all over him. In an interview with Robin Roberts, excerpted below, he stuck by this story: Jussie Smollett Speaks on Horrific Attack And then he did so again through his legal team just a few days ago, saying the following: As a victim of a hate crime who has cooperated with the police investigation, Jussie Smollett is angered and devastated by recent reports that the perpetrators are individuals he is familiar with. He has now been further victimized by claims attributed to these alleged perpetrators that Jussie played a role in his own attack. Nothing is further from the truth and anyone claiming otherwise is lying. Various sources have claimed that producers are in the process of writing Smollett out of Empire, but executives deny this is the case. The fairy tale has finally come to an end for Khloe Kardashian. She wanted to believe. Really, she did. Even after Tristan Thompson was caught cheating on her during her pregnancy, the veteran reality star held out hope. She was about to give birth to the couple’s child when this original scandal broke. She wanted her daughter to grow up with a stable family. So Khloe tried. She forgave Tristan for his dirty misdeeds and she clapped back at anyone who slammed her for being weak in the face of this infidelity. And now she’s been publicly humilated again as a result. On Tuesday afternoon, it came out that Thompson had almost definitely stepped out on Khloe with another woman. This time, Khloe actually knew the other woman: it was Kylie Jenner’s best friend in the whole wide world, Jordyn Woods. How did she find out about the affair? What was the timeline that led to the demise of her dream relationship with Thompson? E! News has broken down many of the most pertinent details. ” Khloe first started hearing things on Monday,” a source tells this outlet. “She wasn’t sure if it was true and started to ask around. She knew it had happened for sure on Tuesday.” On Sunday night, E! reports, Jordyn and Tristan were both at a bar in Santa Monica with some other friends. Jussie Smollett: Is He Being Framed By Police?

For several weeks now, the strange saga of Jussie Smollett has dominated headlines and heated social media discussions. In case you somehow missed the story, here’s a brief recap: Smollett claimed that he was attacked by two white men while walking home from a Subway restaurant around 2 am. Despite frigid, polar vortex weather, Smollett stated that the two men had staked him out and recognized him from his role on TV’s Empire . He added that they came equipped with a bottle of bleach that they dumped over his head and a length of clothesline that they wrapped around his neck in an act mock lynching. Smollett claimed that the men used several racist and homophobic slurs and screamed at him, “This is MAGA country!” Many found the actor’s version of events suspicious from the start, but Smollett quickly gained the support of numerous celebrities and politicians, including presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Cory Booker. Over the course of the past week, however, Smollett’s story began to unravel. Currently, Chicago police are investigating the possibility that Smollett staged the attack with the help of two Nigerian who briefly worked as extras on Empire. His case is set to go before a grand jury as early this week. If convicted of a felony for filing a false police report, Smollett faces several years behind bars. So it should come as no surprise that he’s lawyering up — or that he’s reportedly hired one of the most famous defense attorneys in the country. According to TMZ, Smollett has hired Mark Geragos to represent him in court. Neither Smollett nor Geragos has officially announced that decision, but the attorney has spoken out on Jussie’s behalf on several occasions, most recently on Anderson Cooper’s CNN show: “Any time you start to get law enforcement drip, drip, drip leaks that, to me, is a telltale sign that something else is going on,” Geragos told the host. Geragos went on to express his doubts that it would have been possible for police to track down Smollett’s alleged co-conspirators via the “grainy footage” that was presented to them. He credits Smollett’s cooperation with the arrest of the brothers, and states — in somewhat contradictory fashion — that they were only taken into custody due to public “pressure” to make an arrest. “I haven’t seen anything but leaks from law enforcement sources,” Geragos added. “To me, that screams out that someone is trying to manipulate something.” No doubt by this time, many on both sides of the aisle would prefer for this ugly story to disappear from the headlines. Jenelle Evans to MTV Bosses: Show Me Some Respect or I QUIT!

In the early days of reality television, a large part of the appeal was that viewers could identify with the stars on their screen. These days, however, cast members on hit reality shows share very little in common with their viewers. Take Jenelle Evans, for example. Sure, you might have a friend with an arrest record a mile long, three kids by three different baby daddies, and an overly-chummy relationship with illicit substances, but that friend probably isn't gainfully employed. And if she is, she almost certainly doesn't talk to bosses the way Jenelle does. Fans were floored to see Evans berate Teen Mom 2 producers during Monday night's episode, and many think her outburst may be the result of a full-blown meltdown. Take a look: 1. Jenelle’s Meltdown Jenelle didn’t appear in this week’s episode of TM2 for very long. But during her short time on screen, she made quite an impression. 2. Small Role Jenelle’s screen time has been slashed dramatically this season, primarily as a result of her husband, David Eason, being fired from the show. 3. Making It Worse Producers never planned to punish Jenelle for the homophobic tirade that got David fired, but her role on the show wound up being reduced due to Eason’s actions. 4. Menacing Dave There have been reports of David “menacing” the cast and Jenelle refusing to film without her husband. 5. Big Bluff? Of course, she hasn’t made good on that threat, as doing so would mean walking away from a six-figure salary and the only job she’s ever had. 6. Malia Obama: Caught Drinking Wine! At Only 20 Years Old!

NATIONAL EMERGENCY ALERT! NATIONAL EMERGENCY ALERT!  America has a pressing, legitimate, highly dangerous situation on its hands along the southern border. But it has nothing to do with the building of any walls… and everything to do with what former First Daughter Malia Obama was up to over the weekend in Miami. In stunning news broken by The Daily Mail, Malia – the oldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama and a student at Harvard University – was spotted just a few days ago in Florida. She was with friends. She was “flaunting” her body in a black bathing suit, as some sexist and ridiculous headlines stated and, most damning of all, she was drinking a bottle of rosé wine by the pool. At 20 years old. Yes, Malia Obama is a few months shy of legal drinking age and yet there she was, holding an $80 bottle of a brand called Whispering Angel as if this were perfectly fine, normal and ethical. In fact, she wasted “nothing as she [poured] the last of the bottle into her glass,” read a caption to one of the photos published by this British publication. For shame, right? What? No? Not at all? Because Malia is a private citizen who is acting like every other college student her age at the moment? That’s a fair point. We didn’t stop to consider it. The Daily Mail posted several snapshots of Malia on this vacation, labeling it as a “wild weekend away” despite Obama doing nothing but sitting on a chair and walking under an umbrella. Thankfully, while some folks on the Internet truly did react with shock and horror to these photos, others came to the only two rational conclusions one ought to arrive at as a result of this story: 1. Malia should absolutely, positively, in no uncertain terms be left alone. 2. Malia should maybe find some new friends because someone on this trip with her most likely sold these pictures to the highest bidder. Sadly, Malia has often been at the center of similar “attacks” from critics. She was accused in November of 2017 of being wasted at a Harvard football game. A few months later, she dared to dance all around and have fun at a music festival. Talk about wild and scandalous behavior! Malia is a sophomore at college and, as far as we know, has now returned to Boston after this long weekend away in Miami. Because the heat was “unrelenting” down south, according to The Daily Mail, the 20-year old was spotted at one point with “two cold drinks” in her hands. But here’s the troubling thing: One of these drinks “resembled a cocktail,” the newspaper has written, although it has not yet confirmed whether this beverage did, indeed, include any alcohol. We’ll make some phone calls and analyze some footage as soon as possible and report back with our findings about the drink. Stay tuned.
