It's hard to think of anything less scandalous than a friendship developing between two longtime co-workers. But when the colleagues in question are Kailyn Lowry and Leah Messer, a simple vacation is enough to fuel months of speculation. Primarily, the rumors around the possibility that Lowry and Messer are dating . It doesn't help that one of their co-workers — *cough* Jenelle Evans *cough* — has been providing grist for the mill by implying that these two are more than friends. So what really happened when the moms set off for Costa Rica together? Well, we finally found out on Tuesday's episode of Teen Mom 2 . Take a look: 1. Besties With Benefits? Yes, despite their repeated denials, some fans remain convinced that Kail and Leah are involved in a romantic relationship. 2. The Travelers Leah and Kail vacation together on a regular basis, and this has sparked romance rumors because … they occasionally sport swimwear and take photos together? 3. Kail and the Kids We’re not really sure, to be honest. You’d think the fact that Kail and Leah frequently bring their kids on these excursions would be enough to quash rumors of an illicit affair, but apparently not. 4. Central America Bound This time around, Kail and Leah set out for Costa Rica without any kids along for the ride. 5. What Happens in Costa Rica … Many assumed that Lowry and Messer engaged in all manner of wild behavior, and not just because they left the kids at home. 6. Ups and Downs Just prior to the trip, Leah endured what must have been one of the most tumultuous periods of her life. View Slideshow
On Wedneday, September 11, Larissa Lima and Eric Nichols broke up after a hot and steamy seven months. But it turns out that the breakup was not mutual. In fact, Eric has revealed that Larissa dumped him … over Instagram. To make matters worse, Eric has now found the perfect way to exact revenge. Eric Nichols (whose name was initially reported as Eric Foster) dated Larissa from early February until early September. Unfortunately, their breakup has not been as amicable as anyone (save those of us who get to write about it) had hoped. Eric has taken to his Instagram to share a screenshot of his travel itinerary from his Colorado trip, saying that it was the catalyst for the split. ‘After posting this to my story,” Eric writes. “She DM’d me via Instagram very upset, accusing me that I didn’t invite her, so on and so forth.” He points out that “she herself had been sharing excitement in her stories over the upcoming Colorado trip for the past couple months.” Larissa had made that clear to fans, he adds, “and was literally talking with one of my brothers about it THE NIGHT BEFORE.” “When I had put my phone down to shower and show my house to a future tenant,” Eric reveals. “I got a call from my mother about an hour later.” He says that his mom called “asking ‘are you doing okay?’ And she said ‘I saw a post from :&@:% on FB that you’re parting ways.'” “I didn’t think much of it,” Eric admits. “And,” he continues, he “said ‘I’m not sure, I haven’t seen it yet, but will soon. We’ll be okay, these arguments happen between us often.'” Eric notes that he thought it was an incident “like when she archives our photos from Instagram when she’s upset.” “Continuing my conversation with mother ‘Debie/Duke’ for another 20-30 minutes,” Eric narrates. He writes that he did so “not realizing when we got off the phone, I’d be going back to my DM’s to find multiple messages from my X.” Eric says that Larissa messaged him “stating a finalized break up on her ‘now’ terms.” “From there,” he writes. “I realized I was blocked and the apology DM’s were already packed.” Hard to make things right if you can’t get in touch with someone. Word to the wise: don’t be impatient. “Here’s the thing….” Eric tells his followers. “Lots of fabrication, secrets, stress, endless arguments, and hoops that turned into spirals.” “But,” he emphasizes. “There were some high level times.” We should hope so. The two were an item for seven months! ‘I don’t wish this girl good luck or bad luck,” Eric promises. “I just wish her a new boyfriend…. or husband,” he expresses. “In the history of an 8 month ordeal I am appreciative of certain outcomes,” Eric writes. He and Larissa both do this thing where they count both the starting month and ending month of a relationship. They dated for seven months. “All in all, I do want to give a big shout out to the haters who are instigator traders that balance out the positives,” he shares. “Lastly,” Eric concludes. “I want to give a monstrous THANK YOU TO ALL supportive friends who follow with love & synergy!” That is very sweet of him. But lately, Eric’s attitude has turned a little less sweet. He has been hanging out with Coltee — Larissa’s other, more infamous ex. Eric even spent time with Debbie and with the slot machine that Larissa so despised. This is a giant middle finger to Larissa if there ever were one. Some believe that Eric and Larissa were getting a reality TV deal that Larissa ruined with the breakup, which might explain his spiteful behavior. But maybe it’s just human nature. It’s hard to fall out of love without some bitterness. This is still a fresh wound.
The world remains outraged that Felicity Huffman is serving 14 days in prison for her role in the college bribery scandal. Many feel that she got off easy because she's rich and famous. Wendy Williams would like to add to that: if Felicity had been black, her sentence would have been much harsher. When Wendy Williams said “Season 11, I'm going harder than ever,” she clearly meant it. “So Felicity Huffman's only going to prison for 14 days?!” “I mean, if she were black, it'd be 14 years number one.” She's not wrong, really. Studies show that even doctors view black women less favorably than white women. You know that courts do, too. Wendy then briefly confuses Felicity with Lori. “She paid $15,000 and she's worth million,” Wendy observes, saying that Felicity paid to “have her daughter's SAT scores changed.” “And that's where her trouble is,” she states. “So,” Wendy continues. “She admitted what she did. She's going to jail for 14 days.” “She pays $30,000 in restitution — maybe a few more dollars,” she assesses. When you're talking about a pair of movie stars, that's not a huge fine. “Do I think she’ll ever work again? Yeah,” Wendy admits. “Because first of all, she copped to it,” she points out. “Second of all, she’s one half of a power couple in Hollywood,” Wendy reasons. She adds: “And she’s a nice woman. She just did something that I think a lot of mothers would do if you had the means.” Wendy then asks her audience if they would do the same for their children, given the chance. A shocking number of them clap. (Folks, you can take the SAT repeatedly and it's genuinely not a difficult test; let your kid get the scores that they get) Wendy then very correctly points to a case that constrasts with Felicity's. (When the scandal first broke, outrage over this particular case showed the disparity between rich white women and their poor brown counterparts) A woman in Connecticut — who is black — was sentenced to five years in prison. She didn't bribe anyone. She didn't pay someone to impersonate her child to give them a better test score. All that she did was use a relative's address as her child's home address to give her child a better zip code and thus a better education. Remember, this was a woman overcoming racism — because yes, schools being funded by local property taxes is not race-blind. It's a decades-old system designed to ensure that rich, white homeowners aren't paying for the educations of poor people. And because of other racial injustices in America, a disproportionate number of low-income families are black or brown. Most people wouldn't consider what this mom did a crime. You'd equate it with sending your kids to a rich neighborhood to go trick-or-treating. But clearly, prosecutors felt that this woman defrauded more affluent parents by giving her child a better chance at life. Meanwhile, Felicity gets 14 days. Nice though she may be, that's not right. Wendy notes that she feels that Felicity should have been fined millions — with that money going to those who cannot afford a better education. That is a great idea. A genuinely great idea. At the end, Wendy states that she doesn't even feel like discussing Lori, whom everyone feels did much worse than what Felicity did.
Alex Trebek has some very unfortunate news to share. About four months after the Jeopardy! host told fans he was in ” near remission ” after having been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer… … the beloved television personality is here to say otherwise. In an interview that aired on Tuesday’s Good Morning America, the long-running Jeopardy! host revealed that he’s once again undergoing chemotherapy. “The doctors have decided that I have to undergo chemo again and that’s what I’m doing,” Trebek explained, adding: “I was doing so well and my numbers went down to the equivalent of a normal human being who does not have pancreatic cancer, so we were all very optimistic. “They said, ‘Good, we’re gonna stop chemo, we’ll start you on immunotherapy’ and I lost about 12 pounds in a week and my numbers went sky-high, much higher than they were when I was first diagnosed. It doesn’t sound like the 79-year old is feeling his best, either. Alex Trebek Offers Cancer Update “My hair started to grow back, but now I have to undergo chemo again, so what little hair I have grown [this summer] is going to disappear again,” he told GMA’s T.J. Holmes. “In terms of getting my strength back, that hasn’t happened, unfortunately.” Trebek, who revealed his cancer diagnosis on March 6 , has also lost a lot of weight of late. About 12 pounds in a week, to be exact. The host proceeded to tell GMA that “cancer is mysterious in more ways than one,” and that battling it has taken a tough toll on his body. “It has different effects on you,” he said. “For some reason, and I don’t understand why, occasionally it will cause excruciating pain in my lower back. Other times it’s fatigue, other times it’s nausea. It varies.” The terrible truth is that Trebek has one of the most aggressive types of cancer out there. The five-year survival rate is extremely small and the median survival rate for people diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer is three to six months. It is incurable. Trebek says he sometimes feels a “surge of sadness and depression,” but he also plans to continue hosting the game show for as long as he can “walk out and greet the contestants.” And as for death, Trebek said that he isn’t concerned. “I realize that there is an end in sight for me just as there is for everyone else,” he says. “One line that I have used for our staff in recent weeks and months is that when I do pass on, one thing they will not say at my funeral is, ‘Oh, he was taken too soon.'” But he disagrees with this predicted assessment. “I’m 79 years old. I’ve had one hell of a good life and I’ve enjoyed it. “And the thought of passing on doesn’t frighten me. It doesn’t. Other things do. The effect it’ll have on my loved ones, yes that bothers me, it makes me sad. “But the thought of myself moving on? Hey folks, it comes with the territory.” This is what Trebek said back in March: Just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. Now, normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m gonna fight this and I’m gonna keep working and with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease. We wish him all the best. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Beat Cancer
Sad news out of the world of journalism today. Multiple outlets have now confirmed the death of iconic pundit and author Cokie Roberts. A family spokesperson says Roberts passed away due to complications from breast cancer. She was 75 years old. Roberts was an indispensable figure in the early days of National Public Radio, joining the upstart network as a political commentator in 1978. From there, she helped NPR grow into the institution that it is today, while simultaneously fostering a multimedia career that made her one of the most trusted names in TV news throughout the 1980s and ’90s. Having just one woman at the helm of a major media outlet was unusual in the 1970s. But Roberts helped to spearhead a female-led revolution at NPR. “[W]e called them the Founding Mothers of NPR, or sometimes we called them the Fallopian Club,” said NPR political correspondent Mara Liasson. “It is such a privilege — you have a front seat to history,” she said. Born into a politically-engaged family, Roberts was the daughter of two former U.S. representatives. Though Roberts was the only member of her immediate family not to run for Congress, her incisive reporting and unparalleled ability to translate complex, wonky issues for an audience of millions enabled her to make a unique contribution to the American political landscape. “You do get used to it, and you shouldn’t, because it is a very special thing to be able to be in the room … when all kinds of special things are happening,” Roberts once remarked in an interview. “I do feel strongly that informing the voters about what’s going on, trying to explain it in ways that people can understand and putting the issues out there is a form of participation.” Throughout her career, Roberts was applauded for her objectivity and her fairness in dealing with Democrats and Republicans alike “She liked people on both sides of the aisle and had friends on both sides of the aisle,” renowned journalist George Will told NPR. “If you don’t like the game of politics, I don’t see how you write about it well,” he added. “She liked the game of politics and she understood that it was a game.” These days the media landscape is both more crowded and more divided than ever before. But one common trait you’ll find among the denizens of that increasingly tumultuous world is a profound respect for the work and influence of Cokie Roberts. As you almost certainly know by now, Kylie Jenner is officially the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire. Like so many others, we feel compelled to put “self-made” in quotes because, let’s face it — Kylie had a lot of help in reaching her current financial status. Kylie was born to wealth and privilege that few can even fathom. But that’s not to take away from the fact that she cunningly took advantage of every opportunity that was offered to her. After all, Kylie’s five siblings enjoyed similar entitlements, but, well — none of them has amassed a 10-figure net worth, have they? Obviously, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Rob, and Kendall all enjoy rather comfortable lifestyles, but did any of them feel a twinge of jealousy when their little sister became a billionaire before she could legally drink? Believe it or not, Kourney answered that question in candid fashion during her recent appearance on syndicated talk show The Real. Asked by the panel of hosts exactly how she feels about Kylie’s staggering wealth, Kourt laid her cards on the table — and she may have snuck in a little trash talk as a bonus: “Probably subconsciously it makes us feel like, ‘When is it enough?’” Kourtney said. “And that’s a thing I always think to myself, ‘When is it enough?’ Because I don’t like missing out on certain things like doing my kids’ homework or certain after-school activities for different things like that,” Kourtney explained. Kourtney has a reputation for being the least-confrontational member of her family, but it’s possible she’s just mastered the art of extremely subtle shade-throwing. In all likelihood, her comments were prompted not by jealousy, but by concern for her little sister. After all, in addition to beling a billionaire, Kylie is a mother . It would be a lot to take on at any age, and Kylie is just 22 years old. But those who know her best say Stormi’s mom has a knack for going with the flow, a tendency that seems to be reflected in her recent comments about going from rich to ridiculously wealthy. “I didn’t expect anything. I did not forsee the future,” Kylie told Forbes. “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.” Kylie owns 100 percent of her cosmetics line, and while she prides herself on putting out a quality product, she’s under no delusions about why the brand took off so quickly: “It’s the power of social media,” Kylie told the finance mag. “I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything.” Asked how her sisters feel about her success, Kylizzle admitted that she’d occasionally the butt of good-natured jokes: “When we’re in a group chat talking about where we should go for a trip, they’re like, ‘Kylie? You going to pay for it?’” Kylie said. “Just stuff like that.” She added: “They just joke with me, just sister love. They’re all really proud of me, for sure.”
ABC scraped the bottom of the barrel while casting Dancing With the Stars Season 28. Some of the casting decisions are downright bizarre, but who will win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy? That's the big question, and with a cast as random as this one, it really will come down to the wire. Weirdly, ABC decided against revealing who these celebrities are being paired up with — presumably to get people to watch live. It's a weird decision for sure, and one that makes it difficult to forecast which of these celebrities will make it far. But that didn't stop us from rounding up how we think things will shake out. Scroll down and pick your favorite now! Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, September 16 at 8/7c. 1. Sean Spicer – 300-1 He wasn’t very good at being the White House press secretary, and nothing about gives us much faith that he will make it far in the competition. Heck, his casting alone caused a social media frenzy, with many bashing the show for casting him. If the viewing audience continue to have an impact on the game, then look for this loser to get the boot. We’re sure he’ll have a press release ready to go in which he tries to spin the whole thing in his favor. It’s what he does. 2. Lamar Odom – 40-1 Lamar only seems to have success in the NBA. He can’t hold down a successful relationship. Add in the fact that NBA players don’t have the best track record in the ballroom. It will all come down to which returning pro he is paired with, but for now, don’t expect much. 3. Ray Lewis – 35-1 Ray has been outed as a liar, so it’s hard to believe that this disgraced pro football player will garner much traction. 4. Sailor Lee Brinkley-Cook – 30-1 Sailor was a last-minute addition because her mother had to exit the series due to an injury during rehearsals. She’s young and should do better than some of the others. But the jury is well and truly out on this one. 5. Kate Flannery – 25-1 The Office remains as one of the most popular shows around thanks to the world of streaming. The fans will want to keep Kate in the competition — even if she isn’t cutting the right shapes. It’s sad, but it’s true. This series is a popularity contest. 6. Mary Wilson – 20-1 Dancing With the Stars appeals to the older audience — the ones who were probably around when the Supremes were a thing. That should keep Mary in the competitive loop for a while. But she will need to bring her A-game if she wants to make it to the end. View Slideshow
Prince Harry celebrated a pair of milestones on Sunday: 1. His 35th birthday. 2. His very first birthday as a father. And beloved/beautiful/polarizing wife Meghan Markle was right there to shower her husband with figurative kisses in one of the sweetest tributes you’ll read this month. “Wishing a very happy birthday to His Royal Highness Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex!” opened a caption to the photo above, which was posted @sussexroyal Instagram account. In the very bottom right of this collage, among many other personal and candid photos of Harry, we get a glimpse at a brand new snapshot of him, Markle and their son, Archie. The new image depitcs a doting Harry crouching down to look at his child, who is on mom Meghan’s lap, during a special celebration back in the summer. Elsewhere in the photograph collection? A few childhood pics of Harry, including one him as a baby with his late mother Princess Diana. Also one of Harry as a small boy with brother Prince William. There’s also a gorgeous picture of of the Duke and Duchess kissing at their 2018 wedding. And, finally, pics of Harry in his military uniforms and meeting people on his Royal tours. Wrote Markle herself as a message to Harry: Your service to the causes you care so deeply for inspires me every day. You are the best husband and most amazing dad to our son. We love you. Happiest birthday! Next week, Meghan and Harry are scheduled to travel with young Archie to South Africa for what will mark the child’s first Royal tour. It ought to garner the family a great deal of attention, but today belongs to Harry, not his precious offspring. “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duke of Sussex today!” read a message on the Instagram page of Kensington Palace, which represents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, alongside a photo of the brothers dressed in military uniforms and smiling at one another. Perhaps this caption will put to rest rumors of a feud between Harry and William . But probably not, knowing the media and all those supermarket tabloids, you know? Harry’s father Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall also sent their best to the birthday boy today, as did The Royal Family Instagram account, which represents Queen Elizabeth and other members of the family. “Wishing a very Happy Birthday to The Duke of Sussex, who turns 35 today!” Charles and Camilla’s post read. “Happy Birthday to The Duke of Sussex – 35 today! #HappyBirthdayHRH” the Queen’s post read. Harry and Meghan got married in May of 2018 and welcomed their son into the world in May of 2019. We join all these others in sending our best birthday wishes to his adoring dad. For the past few months, a lot of bad, bad things have been coming out about Amber Portwood. It all started when she was arrested for allegedly chasing Andrew Glennon and their one-year-old son with a machete, and somehow it went downhill from there. That's how bad she's looking right now — that there's a downhill from a machete chase. We've heard recordings of Amber abusing Andrew, we've heard lots of comments from Andrew himself, and now, Andrew is sharing one more bit of information. And it may be the most horrifying one of all. 1. Here We Go Again On the evening of July 4th and going into the morning of July 5th, Amber Portwood went in a rampage that involved beating Andrew Glennon with a shoe so hard that she bruised him and that finished with an alleged machete chase. 2. Facts Why do we even live in a reality in which a nightmare like that actually happened? Because Amber is and has always been very abusive to the men in her life. 3. Throwback Her habit of assaulting Gary Shirley when they were together helped send her to prison a few years back, and there’s a chance this new disaster might send her back — she’s been charged with three felonies because of what happened that night. 4. Sorry And from everything we’ve been hearing about her lately, she may deserve it. 5. A Recap So, OK, we have the story from the night of her arrest — she admitted to beating Andrew with a shoe, and although she acted like it wasn’t a big deal, police have photos of the bruises and scratches on him from this. She has, however, denied going after him with a machete while their one-year-old son, James, was in his arms. 6. And Yet But one of her felony charges is for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, Andrew said that after he ran into another room she started hacking at the door, and police do have photos from inside the house as evidence, so … it would seem that the machete was involved at least a little bit.
