Ariana Grande Calls for Gun Control in Wake of Las Vegas Shooting

As documented below, celebrities from all industries have issued statements of shock and sorrow on social media in light of Sunday night’s shooting in Las Vegas . But we feel as though Ariana Grande deserves to be singled out for a moment. Tragically, the young singer is all too familiar with the sort massacre that took place in Nevada over the weekend, as over 20 concert goers were killed in Manchester this spring toward the end of a Grande performance. Clearly (and understandably) VERY shaken by that incident, the artist penned an open letter shortly after the terrorist act that reads as follows: “I am sorry for the pain and fear that you must be feeling and for the trauma that you, too, must be experiencing. “We will never be able to understand why events like this take place because it is not in our nature, which is why we shouldn’t recoil. We will not quit or operate in fear. “We won’t let this divide us. We won’t let hate win.” Sadly, Grande has now been forced to share a similar statement, after a 64-year old named Stephen Paddock opened fire in Las Vegas on fans at a country music festival. At the latest count, Paddock killed 58 people and injured over 500 others. After committing the deadliest mass shooting in American history, he then took his own life. View Slideshow: Las Vegas Shooting: Celebrities React to Terrorist Attack On Monday, Grande responded to this Las Vegas shooting with grief and with emotion, but also with a call for action. “My heart is breaking for Las Vegas,” she tweeted. “We need love, unity, peace, gun control & for people to look at this & call this what it is = terrorism.” Amen, right? Grande’s manager Scooter Braun also penned a lengthy message to his followers, reflecting on the attack in Vegas while referencing his own memories from Manchester. “I don’t really have words this morning. I am deeply saddened. And as horrifying as it is to say I can’t tell you I’m surprised,” he wrote, adding: “Our greatest challenges are ahead of us. What took place in Las Vegas last night should never happen. What took place in Manchester should never happen. What took place in Charlottesville should never happen. “But they are happening. And ALL of them are terrorist attacks.” Concluded Braun: They all strike fear in our ability to live our lives .They all make us question taking our children, our friends our loved ones to public events that are supposed to bring us joy…in fear of devastation. They are all attacks on our way of life and our way of love. So first let me say my heart breaks for all those affected in Las Vegas. Nothing we  do can bring back your loved ones and I am so sorry. For those in the hospital recovering we are with you. Keep fighting. And for all of us..who are we? What will we choose to do in response? Will we just Instagram and move on? Will we think this is about a hashtag with the word #vegas in it? Or will we wait until the next one affects us? THIS One affects us. #LASVEGAS is ALL of us. The echoed the words ‘Manchester we’re strong, we’re strong, we’re strong. We’ll keep singing our songs, our songs our songs.’ This repeated for 15 minutes as they exited. Defiance in the face of fear. Las Vegas we’re strong. We’re strong. We’re strong. We’ll keep singing our songs…Together. This is an attack on your friends, your family, your kids, your way of life. So as we think about those lost and those hurt this morning …what do you and I owe them? Powerful stuff. We send our thoughts to all affected by this tragedy.

Kailyn Lowry to Kylie Jenner: Your Friends Will ABANDON You!

You might not think of someone who got pregnant as a teenager as being the ideal person to reach out to for advice about … well, anything. But Kailyn Lowry's advice might be  exactly  what  pregnant Kylie Jenner  needs to hear.  After all, who could know better about going from  young and hot  to  mom with a tot  than a  Teen Mom  star? Just don't ask  Kailyn for baby naming  advice. Since getting pregnant in high school, Kailyn's lived the non-millionaire version of what Kylie's about to go through. Because the reality of the matter is that your social life changes when you become a mom — at any age. Even a 35-year-old first-time parent is going to suddenly have to turn down invitations, because they have a small human that's adorable though very noisy and it needs constant supervision or it could  die . They'll find themselves missing out on sleep and unable to party and stay out late like they used to, even at times when someone else is taking care of their baby. It's more than just a shift in lifestyle — that can happen when you get a new job, basically. It's a total, radical reprioritization that impacts more or less every part of your life. That shift is going to be even more dramatic for someone who becomes pregnant at 16 … or 19 … and is accustomed to a great deal of freedom and minimal responsibility at an age where they are not socially expected to become mothers. And … there are fears that Kylie does not fully appreciate what it means to be a mother or how much her life is going to change.  Forever . TMZ   spoke to Kailyn Lowry  and asked if she had any words of wisdom to share with Kylie Jenner. We have to hand it to them — it might never have occurred to us to ask a  Teen Mom  star about Kylie Jenner. Kailyn seemed to be ready to share some advice, though she confesses that she doesn't know all that much about Kylie. “For me, it was a little different because I was still in high school … she's pretty young, and I can't imagine that a whole lot of her friends have kids at their age.” She's right. There's a huge difference when you're still in high school, because you're still a minor who's suddenly jumping forward a decade in terms of responsibilities. But, at the same time, Kylie's peers can't really relate to Kylie's pregnancy any more than a high schooler's can. And that's going to change things. “Your social life definitely changes because you can't always go out when your friends wanna go out, because you're either pregnant or you have a newborn.” Yep. “I think it'll be different for her because I'm sure she'll have a lot of help and she'll have nannies and stuff.” We anticipate a small army of nannies. Plus lots of time spent with aunts and, of course, Kylie's daughter's proud grandmomager. “I don't know; i think when your friends can't really relate, they kind of stop coming around.” We're sure that Kailyn had this unfortunate experience. But only time will tell whether Kylie does. Is her social clout among her friends enough that they won't stop coming around? Or can even Kylie become too boring and her life too baby-centric? Kylie will have help, though. “I mean, I know money can definitely make things easier — I know you can pay to have help.” Plus Kylie's whole family will likely be willing to pitch in when needed. (Though Kim and Khloe will have newborns of their own) Imagine the fallout of Kylie's friends all deserted her. But … here's our take on that: Any friend of Kylie's who was willing to put up with her during her years of dating Tyga is probably going to have no problem putting up with her as a mom. Childcare is no joke, but we'd take time around a newborn over someone who talks about Tyga all of the time, any day.

The Bachelorette Season 14: Who Could It Be?

If nothing else, the selection of Arie Luyendyk Jr. to play the leading man on  The Bachelor  shows that anyone can be in that role. Seriously, anyone. But who will fill Rachel Lindsay's shoes in the fourteenth season of The Bachelorette tentatively set for May? Obviously, we don't expect to know right away. And there's always a chance that viable contenders, or even one consensus choice, will emerge from Arie's season of The Bachelor . That doesn't mean that we can't consider the possibilities, though, because Bachelor Nation has some very strong candidates already. After all, if Arie was still on producers' radar FIVE YEARS after he finished second on Emily Maynard's season, you just never know. Some of these women are already beloved by Bachelor Nation. Others are … we don't want to say reviled , but not quite as beloved. So let's look at who it might be! And hope that we're not disqualifying all of these ladies just by mentioning their names! 1. Kristina Schulman This girl won a lot of sympathy on Bachelor in Paradise during her love triangle with Dean Unglert. While his reputation sunk, her star has never been brighter. Should she become the Bachelorette? 2. Danielle Lombard Being treated and wooed as the most beautiful woman to ever walk the earth on Bachelor in Paradise certainly wouldn’t hurt Danielle Lombard’s chances for the top job. The guys in Paradise weren’t wrong. Just saying. 3. Amanda Stanton Single mom and franchise mainstay Amanda dismissed the idea of becoming the Bachelorette, but … that could be a deliberate deflection. She’s gorgeous, she’s charming, she’s a devoted parent, and she’d be great in that role. 4. Vanessa Grimaldi You might be thinking that they’d never cast Vanessa, because she and Nick only JUST broke up. Well, Arie Luyendyk Jr. had a girlfriend until just a couple of days before he was announced as the Bachelor. The real question is, since Rachel Lindsay was just the Bachelorette, would they have two leading ladies back-to-back who hate each other? 5. Corinne Olympios Hear us out on this one. The scandal on Bachelor in Paradise this summer wasn’t her fault or DeMario’s. She’s still entertaining and seeing her be the Bachelorette would be the stuff of dreams. She has a heart of gold and a platimun vagine — literally what more could you ask for? Plus, there’s a chance that she’s already in talks for it. 6. Andi Dorfman “But she was already The Bachelorette!” Yes. But, especially given that it resulted in a tumultuous relationship with Josh Murray, doesn’t she deserve another bite at the apple? Julia Louis-Dreyfus Thanks Fans for Support, Has Coolest Son Ever

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has the love and support of Hollywood, her fans and, most adorably of all, her son. On Thursday, the record-breaking Emmy Award winner shocked the entertainment industry when she confirmed she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer . The beloved star learned of this illness the day after she won yet another Lead Actress in a Comedy trophy for her hilarious role on Veep. “1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one,” Dreyfus wrote on Twitter, adding a plug for universal health care to her stunning admission: “The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. “The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.” Dreyfus husband Brad Hall have two sons together, one of whom shared a precious tribute to his famous mother one day after the world learned of her diagnosis. “I couldn’t be more thankful for the outpouring of support for my mom yesterday,” Tweeted Henry Hall, along with a throwback photo that he pretended was taken last year. “Love to you all,” he concluded. Responded Dreyfus: “I’m thankful, too. And also thankful for my dear boy with good manners.” Sort of wants to make you melt into a million pieces right there on the spot, doesn’t it? It hasn’t just been her immediate family members who has reached out to Dreyfus, of course. You’d be hard pressed to find a more respected television actress in Hollywood. “@OfficialJLD so sorry you have to go thru this, pal, but I know you will prevail. We are here if/when you need and we love you,” Tweeted Jason Alexander, who co-starred for years opposite Dreyfus on Seinfeld. The legendary actress also received social media support from her Veep cast members Timothy Simons and Diedrich Bader, who play Jonah Ryan and Bill Ericsson, respectively. “All our prayers for a complete recovery If love is any help at all, know that you are truly loved,” Bader tweeted. And Simons: “Julia is one of the most talented, most giving, most empathetic people that I’ve had the pleasure to meet. That she takes this news and turns it to help others is of no surprise. Get well, Boss. We love you.” Then there was former Vice President Joe Biden, whose real job Dreyfus has pretended to have on HBO for the past six years. “We Veeps stick together. Jill and I, and all of the Bidens, are with you, Julia,” Biden wrote, along with a photograph of himself and the actress in sunglasses. Robin Roberts, meanwhile, is one of several celebrities who have overcome her own breast cancer diagnosis. Scooter Braun on Justin Bieber: He Was Effed Up, People!

Think Justin Bieber hit rock bottom back in 2014? Think the singer was a complete mess after he was arrested for drunk driving and after he constantly berated the paparazzi and didn’t even seem to care one bit about his fans? You actually have no idea, Scooter Braun now says. Braun, who has served as Bieber’s manager throughout the course of his career and who has been tight with the artist for years, opened up this week to The Wall Street Journal Magazine. The topic? Bieber. Specifically, the depths to which Bieber plummeted during his fairly recent struggles. “It was worse than people realized,” Braun told the publication. “I failed him day after day. We were living in hell because he was in such a dark place.” In January of 2014, Bieber was arrested for drunk driving . The incident seemed to be the culmination of a downward spiral in which Bieber partied too much and drove too fast. However, Braun says here that things continued to get worse for the superstar over the next several months. “I have inconveniences, and other people have problems. Mine feel important, but they’re not. They’re not life or death,” Braun told The Wall Street Journal crypically, prior to adding: “Justin’s stuff got to a point where it was a problem.” Based on that phrasing,it sounds like it was a life or death problem. Yikes . “Some of the biggest people in the industry, people invested in Justin’s career, told me, ‘It’s over. Focus on something else. That kid is done,'” Braun explained. But the manager has been with Bieber since Justin was a young teenager. He wasn’t about to abandon his friend when he was needed the most. “I made a promise to him when he was 13 that I would never give up on him. I plan on keeping that promise.” Added Braun: “He’s family. I think the relationship is more like a big brother, especially because he’s become a man. “I think he’s seen the worst of himself, and to watch him rise out of it was amazing.” Has Bieber risen out of it? We guess so. He hasn’t been arrested in years and his fans still love him. But he’s taken a strange break from making music and folks still have no idea why he let down so many people when he canceled his tour this year . Josh & Anna Duggar Celebrate Wedding Aniversary, Get Slammed By Fans

It’s been two years since the world learned that Josh Duggar molested four of his sisters and one other minor. For obvious reasons, the Duggars have been eager to sweep that shocking scandal under the rug, but thankfully, some vigilant former fans aren’t allowing them to do so. In keeping with the promise they made to TLC, the Duggars have not brought Josh on Counting On , the reality series they launched after 19 Kids and Counting was canceled due to advertisers cutting ties with the network in disgust. But the Duggars certainly haven’t given up on helping Josh earn a pardon for his crimes in the court of public opinion. Every time Josh and wife Anna mark a new milestone, the Duggars use it as an opportunity to rebuild Josh’s public image. Earlier this month,  Anna welcomed her fifth child , and the Duggars posted photos of the happy couple all over their social media pages in hopes of garnering a favorable response from fans. The photos were quickly removed after fans expressed their displeasure. But now the Duggars are rallying behind Josh again – and receiving the same predictable results. Jim Bob and Michelle posted the above throwback photo in celebration of Josh and Anna’s ninth wedding anniversary this week. “Happy Anniversary Josh and Anna,” the caption read. “We love you both so much and are so thankful for God’s grace and love in your lives. We pray He will be with you as you follow Him. Love, Mom & Dad PS–We are also thankful for the beautiful legacy of five wonderful grandchildren!!” Needless to say, fans didn’t share those warm feelings: “There is no way I could stay married to this man let alone have more children with him!,” wrote one follower., referencing the recent birth of Josh and Anna’s fifth child. “I live [sic] the Duggar family’s and the shows but it disgusts me to even hear anything about Josh .. to me Anna is staying against her will .. she’s staying because of his and her family’s ..so sad,” she added. “Dudes, again, your son has major issues,” commented another fan. “Parading him and his family in the public eye just makes people feel terrible. It’s too soon. “For the sake of his recovery, his wife and the rest of your family it might be best to keep your love and support private for now. I’m sure they don’t need the inevitable negativity. Their family has suffered enough from being in the public eye.” Some followers were even more blunt, making it clear that their anger toward Josh for his appalling misdeeds will never dissipate: “Ugh he’s such a smug arrogant a–hole. I go back and forth being angry at her and feeling so badly for her,” another wrote. “What a mess. She – and especially their children! – don’t deserve all of this.” We’d say they’ve probably learned their lesson from this incident, but this is the Duggars we’re talking about – they never learn from anything! Tom Cruise FINALLY Responds to Those Butt Rumors!

Tom Cruise: he’s Scientology’s golden boy mascot, he’s an acting legend, he’s a practitioner of couch parkour, and he’s at least 50% of why this year’s The Mummy film was so bad . But … does he wear a fake butt? A photo that’s circulated all over social media suggests that, at least once, he did. You can see it for yourself below, and we might finally have an answer. As a general rule, we don’t spend a great deal of time contemplating Tom Cruise’s butt. Not it’s appearance and not its authenticity. It’s not that we have anything against his butt, even though it’s part of the flesh prison of a man Leah Remini calls “diabolical.” But, thankfully, someone on the internet spends enough time thinking about butts that they noticed one particular image and brought it to light. Twitter user @iluvbutts247, an account that the world never knew that it needed but suddenly cannot live without, tweeted out this message: “Hello, please, i present the theory that for one single shot in Valkyrie (2008), at 5:12, tom cruise wears a fake butt. observe:” Attached was this screencap from the film: Now, this photo has been circulating for over a month, now, since this tweet was first shared. It doesn’t look quite real, does it? It doesn’t look unnatural, exactly — just too perfect. And since this is really the first we’ve heard of it, we guess that it’s something that you’d never notice if a butt-centric blog hadn’t been, we’re guessing, going through the scene frame-by-frame for the perfect ass shot. Remember — shows and films in 2008 weren’t designed for modern gif culture, where every scene is likely to get picked apart by a sizable army of fans. Of all of the potential secrets that we imagined might come to light about Tom Cruise, we’d never imagined that “he wears a fake butt” would be among them. But … maybe it’s not as fake as it looks. On Tuesday, Tom Cruise responded to the theory that he wears a fake butt in an interview with Screen Rant . “I have no idea. There was no prosthetic in Valkyrie. No.” He also shares that this is somehow the first that he’s heard of the rumor. Which … really goes to show you that Tom Cruise might as well be Amish in terms of how out-of-touch he is with actual society and in terms of how little benefit he gets from social media. He lives in this planet but it’s like he’s inhabiting another world, you know? Tom Cruise has mooned characters in past films, but he assures the world that he used his actual butt at the time, too. “It’s me. It’s not CGI, it’s me. I do my own mooning in films. So let it be known — I do my own mooning.” For a variety of reasons, you might be thinking that Tom Cruise is not exactly the most reliable guy to confirm or deny a rumor about Tom Cruise. Wes Okerson, the dude who trained Tom Cruise for Valkyrie , stepped up to confirm Tom Cruise’s side of the story in an interview with Men’s Health . “It’s real. He was working long hours and we were training every single day. Definitely, definitely real. He does his own stunts. It’s pretty well-documented.” You might point out that Wes Okerson has a vested interest in not ratting out on his clients. No studio wants to hire a trainer who’s going to be like “oh sure she worked out but those abs were digitally enhanced or a body double.” But we’re not accusing Wes Okerson or even Tom Cruise of lying. Maybe Tom Cruise, or the Tom Cruise of a decade ago, really did have such an extraordinary tush that, at a certain angle, it looks like it can’t possibly be real. She and husband Brad Hall have two sons together. According to The Hollywood Reporte r, Dreyfus received the news of her diagnosis just one day after her historic victory at the 2017 Emmys . In a statement issued to the outlet by HBO, network execs say they have every intention of going forward with their plan to have Dreyfus’ acclaimed comedy back for a final season. Sources say Veep producers will adjust their shooting schedule as needed to accommodate Dreyfus’ treatment. “Our love and support go out to Julia and her family at this time,” reads the statement. “We have every confidence she will get through this with her usual tenacity and undaunted spirit, and look forward to her return to health and to HBO for the final season of Veep.” Twitter was flooded with messages of support for Dreyfus within minutes of her announcement. Many applauded the actress for taking a moment to address the need for universal health care while in the midst of what may be the most frightening ordeal of her life. It’s a testament to the courage and compassion that Dreyfus’ co-stars and loved ones say is even more laudable than her impressive body of work. Christina El Moussa: Will She Marry Again? Will She Procreate Again?!?

Christina El Moussa has sat down for an interview in which she can neither flip nor flop when it comes to providing important answers. First, In Touch Weekly asked the HGTV star whether she could ever see herself walking down an aisle and exchanging vows again. The home-flipping guru split from husband Tarek El Moussa in the spring of 2016 and has since gone on to date a trio of fortunate fellas: Her former contractor, Gary Anderson. NHL player Nate Thompson. And current beau Doug Spedding , a man she has known for over a decade. This latest romance appears to be fairly serious, which prompted the aforementioned tabloid to pose the question: Will she get married for a second time? “I love being married, but it’s not something I want to think about right now,” El Moussa responded simply. Okay. Fair enough. She and Tarek haven’t even been divorced for a year; it makes sense that she can’t even wrap her mind yet around a second marriage. But what about having a third child? The reality star is the mother to a young son named Brayden and a toddler daughter named Taylor and is clearly quite smitten with her kids. She often poses alongside these small people on Instagram, while she and Tarek have constantly said that co-parenting in a healthy environment is their top priority in life. “I have two amazing kids,” Christina told In Touch, yet she then made it clear that this doesn’t mean she’s in the market for any more. “I’m done,” El Moussa added of having children. While Christina and Tarek are no longer a couple, the two have no intentions of stopping their roles as business partners. They’ve actually expanded their quasi empire and will soon work behind the scenes as producers on upcoming HGTV programs. “Working with Tarek comes easy for both of us,” she says, adding: “We have worked together for 12 years and we will continue to work and co-parent together. We have a lot of fun (both on and off camera) flipping houses.” HGTV has cleared Tarek and Christina to continue filming Flop or Flop through the end of 2017 at least. Moreover, the network has given the green light to multiple new versions of the franchise in different cites around the country. Tarek and Christina won’t be involved in these spinoffs, but they will be involved in each other’s lives for a very long time to come. What choice do they have when they have two small kids? “We told Taylor, ‘Mommy and daddy are going to be better parents for you and your brother apart. But we will always be here for you and your brother,'” Christina says of how she broke the divorce news to her daughter, concluding: “And we have made sure to always stay positive in front of the kids.” Amen.
