This is What a 16-Pound Baby Looks Like

To be clear, we’re talking about a 16-pound newborn baby. And yes, this is a human baby that we’re talking about. There are some big newborns in this world, but not all of them make doctors wonder if the scale is broken. This prodigious boy is named Waylon Cole, and he was 16-pounds when he was born. (We can be kind of judgmental about baby names, but Waylon Cole is a genuinely good name, and with Cole as a middle name, he has a great backup if he doesn’t like being called Waylon ) Waylon’s father, Edmond Hallet, says that people in the delivery room thought that they’d broken the scale when trying to weigh the 16-pound baby . “The doctors and nurses were like, ‘Oh my god!’” Well, that’s pretty understandable in terms of reactions. Waylon was, of course, delivered via cesarean section, which is why he and his mother are still alive. But while the family expected that he would be a big baby, they honestly didn’t realize how large he’d become. “We ended up weighing him three times because no one could believe he actually weighed 16 pounds. At first I thought maybe the scale was broken.” The average newborn human weighs 7.5 pounds. The scales were telling them that Waylon weighed more than two average newborns. About 95% of babies weigh anywhere from about 5.5 pounds to 10 pounds. Some babies weigh slightly less when they’re placed on the scale. It’s not uncommon for a newborn to expel their meconium before even getting weighed. (Meconium is a bit of excrement, comprised of things that the baby ingested in utero — we’re talking cells, bile, and water) That can tip the scales and make a baby’s weight seem slightly less dramatic. But nothing, one way or the other, was going to make Waylon Cole seem like anything else than a giant. Waylon is 28-year-old Whitney Hallett’s fourth child, by the way. The other babies were within the range that’s usually considered to be big. The smallest was 8 pounds, 8 ounces. The second-smallest was 9 pounds, 14 ounces. The previous heavyweight champion of the Hallett family was born at 11 pounds, 1 ounce. Obviously, Waylon Cole has knocked those records out of the park. He’s kind of knocked every other baby’s weight out of the park. Whitney had gestational diabetes, which can impact people who are pregnant. One potential effect of gestational diabetes is that the babies can grow especially large. But obviously Waylon Cole is a significant outlier. Waylon has now grown to 17 pounds and 7 ounces, and though he apparently sleeps more than the Hallett family’s other children did as babies, he’s totally healthy. A lot of babies set records at their respective hospitals, but we’ve never seen any newborn whose weight measured up to Waylon. Corinne Olympios Closes the Book on Bachelor in Paradise Scandal

Corinne Olympios has a few more things she would like to say. Following the announcement that a slightly revamped Bachelor in Paradise will resume filming on Season 4, the controversial contestant at the center of the show’s latest scandal has issued a new statement. Below, Corinne reiterates her belief that she was made into a victim, while she also makes a final declaration regarding her role on the ABC series. “In light of the overwhelming amount of misinformation that has been spread in the media, I want to clarify a few things,” Olympios begins. “My intent over the past few weeks has been to learn and understand what happened on June 4.” On that date, of course, Corinne and DeMario Jackson ended up naked in a pool after downing many alcoholic drinks together. They got very far sexually, with Jackson recently describing the raunchy hook-up in detail , only for a producer to tell executives that Olympios may have been too drunk to give DeMario consent. Once this allegation was leveled, production was shut down and the cast sent home. About two weeks later, an internal investigation determined no misconduct had taken place and Warner Bros. confirmed Season 4 would air this summer as originally scheduled. In a previous statement, Olympios had described herself as a “victim,” while her attorney came out last week and implied his client may still press charges. But it doesn’t sound as if that will be the case any longer. “While I never filed complaints or accusations against anyone associated with Bachelor In Paradise, my team and I felt it was very important to be thorough in getting to the bottom of what occurred,” Olympios said on Thursday, adding: “I felt victimized by the fact that others were judging me through conflicting and unsubstantiated reports, while I myself had no recollection of the events that transpired.” We can’t say for certain what happened between Olympios and Jackson. But DeMario has outlined how aggressive Corinne was during their hook-up, even thrusting her naked crotch directly in his face at one point and demanding oral sex. It’s certainly possible she was blackout drunk at the time… later learned that a third party had serious questions about all that took place between her and Jackson… and then freaked out because she really had no memory of her nude actions. Jackson even stood up for Corinne in an interview with E! News this week. Continued Olympios in her statement: “My team’s investigation into this matter has now been completed to my satisfaction. I am also happy about the changes that have been made to the production of Bachelor In Paradise.” (Warner Bros. has announced that contestants will be limited to two drinks per hour and that crew members will be asked to keep a much closer eye than before on their level of sobriety.) Concludes Corinne: “While I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to have been a participant on The Bachelor, and while I was invited to return to Bachelor In Paradise when production resumed, I respectfully made the decision not to.” View Slideshow: 14 Reality Show Villains You Really Love to Hate So there you have it. Olympios will not rejoin the Bachelor in Paradise cast for Season 4 and DeMario is also unlikely to do so. Every other reality star who was sent home from Mexico earlier this month is expected back, however, with the premiere date of August 8 remaining intact. This ought to close the book on what has been a crazy few weeks, even by the standards of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Considering there was a videotape of Corinne and DeMario’s hook-up, we’re not sure how things spiraled out of control to this point, considering executives could simply have viewed the material as soon as an accusation was made. But we’re glad no one was really hurt. We’re glad no inappropriate actions took place. And we guess we’re glad, from a selfish point of view, that Bachelor in Paradise is coming back. It will be fun to write about this summer.

Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner: Nice Try on the Apology, Notorious B.I.G. Estate Claps Back!

Oh, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. Oh, no no no no no no no. Just: NO . On Thursday, the sisters were blasted by Voletta Wallace , the mother iconic rapper Biggie Smalls, after she learned Kendall and Kylie had superimposed images of themselves on t-shirts featuring her son and Tupac Shakur. Both of the aforementioned artists were tragically murdered many years ago. The controversial pieces of attire were released this week as part of a line of “Rap vs. Rock” items that comprise the latest Kendall + Kylie collection unveiling. They were immediately criticized by Twitter users as insensitive… for fairly obvious reasons. Overall, the shirts depict photos or album covers from a wide swath of recording artists – including Pink Floyd and Metallica, along with Tupac and Biggie – with Kendall or Kylie’s face imprinted over the snapshots of these singers. They make that Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial seem like a well-thought out idea by comparison. Upon discovering that the Jenners had released such items, Wallace went off on them in a scathing Instagram post. “I am not sure who told @kyliejenner and @kendalljenner that they had the right to do this,” she wrote yesterday, adding: “The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me. “I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my Son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. “This is disrespectful, disgusting and exploitation at its worst!” To make herself clear, and to make sure the public was aware she and her family were NOT affiliated with these stupid shirts, Wallace also posted the following photo and message: A short while later, Kendall apologized on behalf of herself and her sister. “These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists,” she wrote. She continued: “We are huge fans of their music and it was not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in anyway. The tee shirts have been pulled from retail and all images have been removed. “We will use this as an opportunity to learn from theses mistakes, and again we are very sorry.” Fair enough we guess, right? We can simply shake our head over this moronic decision by Kylie and Kendall (or, let’s be honest, by their mother and her business team) and move on? Nope, not exactly. Not yet. In a statement to People Magazine, the Notorious B.I.G. Estate says it isn’t done with the sisters quite yet. “While we appreciate that the Jenners have made an apology and pulled the unlawful and unauthorized items, this matter has yet to be resolved,” it wrote in a new statement. Does this mean a lawsuit is on the way? Or a threat of a lawsuit, at least, in order to make the Jenners shell out some cash before the controversial really spirals out of control? It seems very possible. View Slideshow: 19 Reasons to Believe Kylie Jenner Got a Boob Job We’re not legal experts, however. We just write about celebrity gossip for a living. We’re not sure the grounds on which a lawsuit could be filed. But if stupidity were against the law, Kendall and Kylie would be thrown in jail for life for this decision.

Meek Mill WARNED Safaree Samuels Before BET Beat-Down!

The only thing dumber than showing up to a place after being warned to stay away is being a grown-ass man who attacks other men because of some personal feud and a series of insults. So that doesn't cast Safaree Samuels or Meek Mill in a very good light after the alleged physical altercation that took place outside the BET Awards. We have the video (below), but the new report about the warning that Safaree had received casts new light on it. You might remember that Meek Mill and Safaree have an ex in common. None other than Nicki Minaj. And when Safaree started dating Nicki, it definitely stirred the Meek Mill/Safaree Samuels feud . But apparently their beef with each other is over more than Nicki. (Though Nicki Minaj is amazing and would be more than enough for anybody to feud over) No, apparently Meek Mill and Safaree Samuels have been exchanging insults over the past year. Which, even though these are grown adults who were just exchanging words, apparently made Meek Mill feel the need to lash out with violence. All of that quarreling was just a build-up to what happened outside of the BET awards. Right now it hasn't been proven who attacked whom. Or even that an attack for sure took place. … Though one could argue that the video speaks for itself. But TMZ reports that Meek Mill had warned Safaree Samuels to not show up at the BET Awards . A ridiculous thing for one alleged adult to say to another. But it's also pretty silly to just ignore that until the two of you are face to face. We can tell you that the dramatic moment that Meek Mill pulls up and Safaree sees him and responds is priceless. You could have had a script and a director and not gotten a better scene. Also, serious shout-out to Safaree and to Meek for having themselves and their minions … (Or whatever they'd prefer for their minions to be called) … conveniently color-coded for the convenience of viewers. Meek Mill and the men who appear to be his associates are in black, while Safaree is in white. Maybe we shouldn't laugh. Like, the fact that this level of escalating pettiness seems to have existed between these men is a sad thing for humanity. But, at the same time, the video is kind of a much-watch. Sometimes it's okay to be entertained by things without condoning them. For example: Keeping Up With The Kardashians . But also, this video:

Teen Mom Fans to Mackenzie Standifer: Why Did You Let Ryan Edwards Drive High?!

If you watched last night’s episode of Teen Mom: OG then you know that Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Standifer tied the knot in a ceremony that was captured by an MTV camera crew. And you also know Ryan and Mackenzie’s wedding was one of the saddest in reality TV history, with more cameramen on hand than actual guests. The wedding was a rush job, planned with the goal of giving Ryan a leg up in upcoming custody negotiations with his ex, Maci Bookout. Just days after tying the knot, Edwards checked into rehab to receive treatment for persistent substance abuse issues. At the time of the wedding, however, it appears he was still using. And to the shock of many viewers, he drove to the ceremony while visibly intoxicated. Fans of the show took to social media to express their outrage that no one intervened to stop Ryan from operating a vehicle and getting married, all while so high that he struggled to keep his eyes open. “Ryan was wasted, his mom was crying, and Mackenzie was standing there the whole time without a care in the world right before they got married,” wrote one fan on The Hollywood Gossip ‘s Facebook page . “Seems she’s in it for the fame and the money and doesn’t care how it’s affecting anybody in Ryan’s family. Everything about her that they showed last night was sad and desperate on her part.” Others blamed MTV for allowing the potentially deadly scene to continue: “I was absolutely stunned that MTV kept filming when Ryan was driving under the influence of drugs, putting other people’s lives at risk but as long as they get their ratings,” one viewer commented, adding: “Unbelievable, the show is a joke now.” Other fans focused on the fact that Ryan made one of the most important decisions of his life while high out of his mind, and there’s a very good chance he doesn’t remember his own wedding day: “He is in rehab, but honestly I wouldn’t want to marry anyone who isn’t sober at the times our vows are made,” wrote one viewer. “I felt bad for his parents and Kenzie seeing it his mom wasn’t crying bc other people weren’t there it was bc of the state of being her son was in.” Some fans accused Mackenzie of enabling Ryan along with his parents, Others encouraged Maci to continue to fight to limit Ryan’s visitation rights. View Slideshow: Teen Mom Couples: RANKED From Worst to First! One viewer may have summed up the sentiments best, writing: “I was in total shock and seriously couldn’t believe what I saw. I’ve watched EVERY episode for YEARS. This…by far… was the craziest.” Watch Teen Mom online to relive the many struggles that brought Ryan to where he is today.

Aaron Carter Attacks Body Shamers, Ends Up in Hospital

The worst week of Aaron Carter’s life has concluded with him in the hospital. On Thursday night, the singer went off on a Tweet storm in response to the influx of body-shaming he’s unfortunately experienced of late. The artist jumped on his social media account following a concert in Syracuse that evening, during which he overheard fans making fun of his gaunt figure. (Carter opened up last month about his diagnosis of a hiatal hernia at the age of 19, saying the medical condition makes it difficult for him to eat.) “I’m entirely hurt by a so-called fan that I just encountered,” Carter wrote on Twitter, explaining in further detail: “She wasn’t realizing I was listening, she said I look like I have cancer. This is body shaming. You guys are bullying me. I’ve already addressed my medical issues.” The singer added the hashtag “#bodyshaming” to his message. Not long after sending this Tweet, Carter provided followers with an update of his condition – and his whereabouts. “Lots of shows lately, had to head up to ER just to get a little check up these shows are crazy lately gotta make sure I stay strong,” wrote Carter as a caption to the photo above. He added another image of himself in a wheelchair and added: “I’ll recover.” Just a few weeks ago, Carter’s dad passed away . This tragic event took place five years after his sister, Leslie Carter, died of a drug overdose at age 25. The star referenced these sad developments in a follow-up Tweet, writing: “I’ve literally had the hardest week of my life, my dad past [sic] away my late sisters birthday anniversary was June 6th & people #BodyShame me… “I promise I’ll work on getting bigger physically I have medical issues I don’t want to discuss at this time. #GodBless.” Carter’s diatribe continued throughout Thursday night and into most of Friday, as he re-Tweeted thoughts from supporters and shot back at others who questioned his weight. “I’m sorry I’m not fat enough. For my fake fans,” he said. “I’m sorry I’m not good enough or heavy enough to be attractive… I’m bullied and body shamed by the world… They literally won’t stop bullying me… “They won’t leave me alone. I’m getting hate messages and death threats.” Continued the angry and upset singer: “Been in the hospital three times this month, dealing with health issues and broken fingers as well as things I can’t legally discuss. “Do I have to do a spinal tap to prove to people? They’re trolling me and causing me so much insecurities.” View Slideshow: 29 Stars Who Shamed Their Body-Shamers At times, Carter did appear hopeful. He tried to remain upbeat. “I’m not ashamed of my body,” he wrote on Instagram. “Maybe I’m too skinny, maybe I’m too short but the one thing I know is I love my fans my family my girlfriend and my friends. I’m #NotPerfect you never know what someone is going through. “We are not immortal. #embracelove… “All I can do is my best in my life with the conditions I have I need to stay strong, I’m so grateful for my fans, YOU mean the world to me. “Progress is better than perfection. It’s OK to be on a self-love journey, so don’t beat yourself up if u have yet to reach your destination.” Finally, on Friday, Carter shared the following picture: “My appetite is coming back,” he wrote. “#StayingPositive.” We’re glad to hear it! Hang in there, Aaron. Ignore the haters, man.

Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra: SLAMMED for Inappropriate Children’s Clothing Line!

Have you heard the good news?! Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra have jobs now! Real ones where they do stuff and everything! It’s pretty notable, because in the past few years, we’ve pretty much just seen Catelynn and Tyler sitting on couches and being sad or apathetic about pretty much everything . Not to trivialize their mental health struggles — Catelynn has anxiety, and she also suffered from postpartum depression . But after they placed their first daughter for adoption all those years ago, they had big dreams of going to college and getting good jobs. Tyler wanted to be a therapist or a social worker at one point, and Catelynn wanted to do something to help other girls who found themselves 16 and pregnant like she was. However, they’ve seemed pretty stagnant for a while now — until this current season of Teen Mom OG, actually. This season, we’ve seen Tyler get pretty passionate about the idea of starting a children’s clothing line , and Catelynn’s been helping him. Tyler designs the clothes himself, and a local seamstress has been building the pieces. The line is called Tierra Reign — the last part of their last name along with their daughter Nova’s middle name. And though the clothes aren’t officially for sale yet, they’ve been promoting them on social media for a good few weeks now. That’s where the problems start. Yesterday, this photo was shared to Tierra Reign’s official Instagram account: It was not very well-received. “Nooooo!” one person commented on the photo. “Don’t do that to little girls clothing. Soooo inappropriate guys!” Another wrote “I don’t think this top is very age appropriate. The cut, the color, the choker … it’s not something that I would put on a young child.” Tyler posted the same photo on his personal account, and the comments were much worse — he was accused of sexualizing children with clothing and advertising like this. He’s deleted the photo from his account, but it remains on the Tierra Reign page. And honestly, we sort of see what people are upset about. It is a weird picture. The little girl looks too young to be rocking a choker, and usually in ads like these, the kids are smiling or, you know, acting like children instead of just staring ahead at the camera. But don’t worry — Tyler has already addressed the issue. He shared another photo, this one of his precious little daughter, Nova, wearing the same shirt as the one in the ad. In the caption, he explained that he usually doesn’t respond to criticism on social media, which is fair, because if he did, how would he ever be able to do anything else ? But, he said, he felt the need to respond to the backlash. “Emma (the cute little model I used) was actually almost 2 sizes too small for the tank!” he wrote. “We realized the day of the photo shoot & the production of her size was not completed yet, so we didn’t have one to swap it out (or we would have).” That’s the reason the top looks to be a bit lower cut on the model than it does on Nova — they likely had to clip the shirt in the back to make it look right, which pulled it down in the front. As for the choker scandal, he said that “We bought a whole bunch of accessories for the shoot & let the kids decide on what they wanted to wear.” Little Emma apparently picked the choker. After all, chokers are very popular right now. He said that in this new photo, Nova is modeling the shirt as it’s made to fit, and honestly, it does look pretty cute here. Tyler acknowledged that “not everyone will like our style,” and “that’s totally okay!” “But I wanted you guys to know that I am paying attention & appreciate all the feedback … good or bad, it helps the business grow in the right direction.” Proud of you, Baltierras!
