Kelly Clarkson Joins The Voice, Sticks It to American Idol

So much for all that Idol chatter. A few days after rumors surfaced that Kelly Clarkson would be a judge on the revamped version of American Idol, the original winner of has come out and stunned the television universe: She will, indeed, be a judge on an upcoming season of a beloved, long-time running singing competition. But it will not be the show that made her famous. It will be The Voice. Clarkson made the unexpected announcement on Thursday afternoon alongside Blake Shelton on his Facebook page as part of a live video. The two artists will joined on season 14 by fellow longtime coach Adam Levine, while a fourth coach will be confirmed at a later date. “I’m so excited to join The Voice at NBC,” Clarkson said in a statement. She added: “We’ve gone back and forth about a role as a coach for years, but the timing hasn’t been right until now. “I have always loved appearing on the show as an adviser or performer and established an amazing relationship with the network during my Christmas special. “I can’t wait to turn my chair and see the faces of up-and-coming artists and provide them with the help and support they’ve needed to break into the industry.” Proving she’s ready for the typical weekly trash talk among panelists, Clarkson concluded as follows: “Watch out Shelton, I’m comin’ to win!” There’s also been talk, meanwhile, that Jennifer Hudson will come on board The Voice Season 13 as a judge. Said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment, in a statement of his own: “Kelly has been a part of The Voice family for many years as an adviser and performer. We are thrilled she has chosen to join us as a coach to mentor the next generation through our unique vocal boot camp. “Every time Kelly Clarkson sings you are reminded what an incredible voice really is. “We are looking forward to the sound of Kelly Clarkson on The Voice.” It was announced on Tuesday that ABC has agreed on a deal to revive American Idol. It will most likely air on Sunday nights next spring, with Ryan Seacrest most likely returning as host. “American Idol on ABC…that has a nice ring to it,” Disney co-chairman Ben Sherwood said about this move, adding: “Idol is an entertainment icon, and now it will air where it belongs, in ABC’s lineup of addictive fan favorites alongside Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor. America, get ready for the return of a bigger, bolder and better-than-ever Idol. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Dwayne Johnson: No, Really, I May Run for President!

Dwayne Johnson really wants to make sure you know what he may be cooking up for his future. Several months after rumors first circulated that the actor may run for President in 2020 , Johnson spoke to GQ and confirmed that the really is considering this possibility. Explains the magazine’s latest cover subject: “A year ago, it started coming up more and more. “There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.” Johnson first broached this seemingly ridiculous topic upon being crowned Sexiest Man Alive by People last year. “I started to really think,” he told the publication in November, adding of his mindset: “Could I make a difference? Could I surround myself with really brilliant people to help me make decisions? Do I care about this country? “And when the answers continued to come up yes, then I thought, there’s a good chance.” If you’re thinking this sounds utterly preposterous, due to Johnson’s lack of political experience, consider two things: His finishing move as a WWE Superstar was named The People’s Elbow. Donald Trump is currently President. Both Trump and Hillary Clinton asked Johnson for his endorsement last year, he says. And while this doesn’t make him a qualified candidate on its own, it does make him realize that folks out there care about his opinion. “I feel like I’m in a position now where my word carries a lot of weight and influence, which of course is why they want the endorsement,” Johnsol tells GQ. “But I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the process and felt like if I did share my political views publicly, a few things would happen.” Such as? “I felt like it would either (a) make people unhappy with the thought of whatever my political view was. And, also, it might sway an opinion, which I didn’t want to do.” This is why Johnson turned down all overtures for an endorsement last election. But in light of all that’s happened in just over 100 days since Trump took office, Johnson has a lot to think about. He’s already an expert at giving political responses. Just consider the way he refuses to overtly slam Trump when asked for his take by GQ, simply saying instead: “Personally, I feel that if I were president, poise would be important. Leadership would be important. Taking responsibility for everybody. “[If I didn’t agree with someone] on something, I wouldn’t shut them out. I would actually include them.” Based on the results of November’s election, someone with this attitude will never be elected to The White House. Harry Styles is about to pull a Zayn and embark on a music career sans the One Direction lads. He’s got his debut solo album set for release this week, and he’s soon to embark on a world tour, which means this is probably the worst possible time for the 23-year-old heartthrob to be starting a new relationship. But Harry Styles is as unconventional as his … hair styles (sorry), so he’s throwing caution to the wind and getting serious with a celebrity chef and food blogger named Tess Ward. “As soon as Harry met Tess there was an instant spark between them,” a source close to the couple tells The Sun. “They really bonded over their mutual love of quirky fashion and food – and things turned romantic quickly.” Yes, insiders say Harry loves Tess’ sense of humor and her unconventional approach to life. And we love that Tess is subverting expectations about what people who spend their days blogging and eating should look like! Of course, Tess is probably whipping up four-course meals while we keep forgetting to wipe the Cheeto dust off our fingers before typing, but we’re more or less in the same boat, when you think about it. “They’ve been on a number of dates while Harry has been in London and he’s already introduced Tess to some of his close friends including his personal stylist Lou Teasdale,” says the tipster. “This really seems different to Harry’s past relationships as Harry genuinely is besotted with Tess and doesn’t want to risk messing this one up.” Harry’s been involved in several high-profile relationships, but for the most part he seems to prefer monogamy to playing the field. It seems those closest to Harry and Tess believe them to be a perfect match. But with a 28-city tour kicking off this summer, the relationship will be road-tested early on.

James Comey has been fired as FBI Director by President Donald Trump. The shocking development took place as Comey was leading an investigation into the administration's dealings with Russia, therefore raising a few very obvious red flags. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt: We’re Having a Baby…

Brace yourselves, world: Another Spencer Pratt is on the way. We’ll give you a few moments to collect your thoughts and keep your latest meal down… About a month ago, Pratt and Heidi Montag shocked the world when they revealed they still exist. Just kidding. We had heard rumblings that they were still an item and still living their lives over the years. We simply had seen very, very, very little of the couple who did an impressive job of extending their 15 Minutes of Hills-Related Fame into at least 25 or 30 Minutes back in the day. Yet there were Pratt and Montag again last month, back in the news and back on a tabloid cover. For a very exciting reason: they are expecting a baby ! Speaking to Us Weekly about the development, Spencer and Heidi went over the story of how the former was told the news, while confirming that Montag is due in October. “I have never been more excited,” Heidi says of the child in her womb, adding: “The reality is sinking in that we are going to have a child! I’ve read every pregnancy book, and now I realize I don’t know anything.” Now, in a new discussion with Us Weekly, Pratt and Montag has come out and announced their baby’s gender. IT IS A BOY!!!!! Montag says she was the one to inform her husband of this important tidbit, relaying his response to the tabloid when asked about it. “He was really excited! He trains jujitsu all the time, so he’s excited to have a little grappler. He’ll be doing jujitsu and soccer with him,” she says. As for what gets Heidi so pumped about having a son? “I’m really excited for his personality and his little smile,” she explains, adding: “I’m excited to take him to Disneyland and to see if he’s into dinosaurs, Mickey Mouse or ballerinas — it can be anything. Maybe he’ll be the best dance.” Montag, of course, could do any of these things with a girl, too. But whatever. No reason to harsh her buzz right now. In closing, Montag responded to whether or not she’s heard from any of her old MTV friends and/or colleagues. “Kristin [Cavallari] and Audrina [Patridge] both reached out and said congratulations,” she tells Us. “I’ve actually been in touch with both of them for a while now. And I obviously asked both of them for advice. “Kristin sent me a whole list of baby things you need in the first few months, which has been really helpful.” We had our issues with Spencer and Heidi back in the day, but it’s pretty amazing they’re still happily married, isn’t it? Consider all the Hollywood marriages that have failed and then consider how these two are still going strong. Maybe they weren’t as fake as we previously assumed. Kim Zolciak Shares Heartbreaking Photo of Son After Dog Attack

A couple of weeks ago, Kim Zolciak took a break from being absolutely ridiculous when her four-year-old son, Kash, was attacked by a dog . Kash required emergency surgery after the attack, and, like any mother would be, Kim was in an absolute state. The incident happened a little over two weeks ago now, and as she’s told us, poor little Kash is healing nicely . But Kim just gave us a new update, along with a photo of what the boy’s face looks like right now. And honestly, it’s one of the most pitiful things we’ve ever seen. Along with the photo, Kim wrote “Kash and our entire family want to Thank each and everyone of you for all your prayers!” “Kash has healed up incredibly and has perfect vision in his left eye. Stitches on his water line, and his eyeball was never touched! God is Good!” “We are so incredibly thankful and blessed,” she continued. “In no time he will heal up perfectly and you will never know this happened!” “So thankful to Dr. Joseph Williams (chief of plastic surgery) and Dr. Berland (Tomas Eye Group) their quick decisions and impeccable work doesn’t go unnoticed. THANK YOU.” Kim touchingly added “Kash has taught me so much through this experience. When life hands you lemons make Lemonade.” She also tacked on the hashtags “I Believe In Angels” and “God Is So Good.” What a wonderful update, right? Judging by the injuries we see in this photo, things could have obviously been so much worse — as Kim pointed out, he easily could have lost an eye. But, as she told us in her last update, “He will have no physical problems once he is fully healed and we are confident his mental and emotional state is healing back to its original state as well.” So much good news! Of course, Kim also took the opportunity to share a new photo of herself — the one above — after her latest update. For this one, she wrote “Happy, Thankful, and Blessed” — get it, because she’s sharing a selfie because she’s happy, not because she can’t bare to go without attention on herself for any substantial amount of time. Jinger Duggar: Baby Registry, Due Date Revealed?!

For weeks now, we’ve been hearing rumors that Jinger Duggar is pregnant with her first child . Part of the reason for the speculation is that Jinger has been married to Jeremy Vuolo  for six full months, which means that by Duggar standards, the couple is well overdue for a pregnancy announcement. But on top of that, Jinger has allegedly been a little sloppy in terms of hiding her forthcoming bundle of joy from fans. For starters, several recent Instagram photos seem to show Jinger sporting a baby bump . Adding fuel to the rumor fire is the fact that  Jinger recently hinted at a big announcement , which many fans believe will be a confirmation that she’s expecting. The Duggars are usually cagey with this sort of news, as they like to use major life events such as courtships, weddings, and pregnancies to draw viewers to their TLC reality show. Since Counting On Season 4 is just around the corner, it makes sense that Jinger and Jeremy would hold off in order to use the increased interest in their lives to promote the show’s June 12 return. Unfortunately for the young couple, keeping secrets in 2017 is no easy feat, and it seems they may have kept the news to themselves just a bit too long: According to several media outlets, a baby shower registry created by the Vuolos and posted to the site Buy Buy Baby was discovered by fans on Monday. The registry was either a hoax or there’s another Jinger Vuolo out there somewhere. But since it was promptly deleted and there’s been no mention of it by the Duggars, we’re guessing it was the real deal. In addition to the fact that Jinger is expecting, the registry revealed that her due date is December 16, and she’s expecting a baby girl! No word on what sort of items the Vuolos requested, but now that the cat’s out of the bag, it’s a safe bet that they’ll be making their “big announcement” sooner than expected. And of course, Jinger’s pregnancy will likely play a huge role in the highly anticipated fourth season of her family’s popular reality series. Katy Perry: Will She Trash Taylor Swift on New Album?

It seems like just yesterday Katy Perry released her fourth studio album, Prism.  That album was released in 2013, and we’re feeling a little old. Naturally, fans have been questioning when the 32-year-old will drop her fifth album. Perry opened up to Entertainment Weekly about her break from the music industry, new album details and an update on whether she will be firing a song back at Taylor Swift after “Bad Blood.” In the interview, Katy confirmed that she did, indeed, take a break from the limelight after her grueling Prismatic World Tour. She hit up Santa Barbara, California for some respite.  “ The energy is just totally different — it’s not thirsty or desperate or clingy,” Perry tells EW. “It’s a really beautiful kind of Zen-like feeling place. I just went there to gather myself, and I started making a record in June of last year.” Being in the public eye must be a tough experience when you’re promoting an album, attending public appearances and embarking on a world tour, but at least Perry admits to taking breaks.  There are some stars out there that just don’t stop, and it likely ruins the fun of being one of the most popular singers on the planet.  Perry confirmed that she wrote 40 songs for her new album, but had to whittle that down to 15 to have the album made. The star never let the publication in on the big secret about the title of her latest album.  Instead, she detailed the sound of it.  “It’s really quite brave,” Perry continued. “Sonically, it’s fun and dance-y and dark and light. It’s all of these things. It definitely is a change.” Katie also admitted that her latest effort will chart her move into her 30s.  “I left my 20s, and I’ve gone to my 30s,” she says. “I’ve embraced. I’ve surrendered. I’ve healed some of my issues with my family, with my relationships. Today I’m sober, but I don’t know about tomorrow! One day at a time, right? [Laughs] It’s all kind of beautiful. I built up Katy Perry, and she was so fun. And I still am Katy Perry, and I love her so much but, at the core, I’m Katheryn Hudson, and I think that’s being revealed as I embrace who I really am.” On new song titles, Perry confirmed two, with “Bigger Than Me” and “Swish Swish” will be released later this year with the album.  Another pressing topic discussed was whether Katy planned to target Taylor Swift for allegedly making “Bad Blood” about her and if the song was actually about Perry in the first place.  Her response is pretty eye-opening.  “Well, that’s not my question to answer — if it’s about me. I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person. One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not. It’s not about that.” “Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place. Period end of story. But, let me say this: Everything has a reaction or a consequence so don’t forget about that, okay, honey. [Laughs]. “We got to keep it real, honey. This record is not about anyone else!” “This record is about me being seen and heard so that I can see and hear everyone else! It’s not even about me! It’s about everything that I see out there that I digest. I think there’s a healing in it for me and vulnerability. If people want to connect and be healed and feel vulnerable and feel empowered and strong, God bless and here it is.” It sure sounds like Katy is playing coy about the whole thing. Maybe she and Taylor are actually friends and are sitting giggling like school girls over some wine at the fact that the internet thinks they’re against each other.  What do you think about all of this?
