Officials determined that she overdosed on heroin. 3. Jimi Hendrix Yup, Jimi Hendrix was also 27 whe he died due to asphyxiation in his own vomit after he took sleeping pills. 4. Scott Weiland Scott Weiland was found dead in his tour bus in December of 2015. He passed away from cardiac arrest. 5. Andy Gibb Andy Gibb struggled with substance abuse and died of a heart ailment in 1988, just prior to his 30th birthday. 6. Jim Morrison Jim Morrison was found dead in his Paris apartment at the age of 27. No official cause was ever revealed, though most believe he died of a heroin overdose. View Slideshow
Very sad news today out of the sports world: Rashaan Salaam, a former Heisman Trophy winner and star running back at the University of Colorado, was found dead in a park new Boulder. He was 42 years old. Salaam’s body was discovered in a parking lot at Eben G. Fine Park and a 911 was subsequently placed just before 9 p.m. on Monday, per Boulder Police spokesperson Shannon Cordingly. There were no signs of foul play. But a note was found on the scene and authorities told Salaam’s mother that they believe he committed suicide. The park is not even two miles away from Folsom Field, where Salaam starred for Colorado, winning the most prestigious trophy in college athletics in 1994. That year, he rushed for 2,055 and 24 touchdowns and also won the Walter Camp and Doak Walker awards. He was selected in the first round a year later by the Chicago Bears and would go on to become the youngest professional running back to gain at least 1,000 yards in a season. Following a number of injuries, however, Salaam was out of the NFL by 2004. “The Buff Family has lost an outstanding young man and a great Buff today,” Colorado athletic director Rick George said after learning of the news. “We are heartbroken for Rashaan and his family, and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time.” Added the University football team on Twitter: “We’re minus one true Buffalo today.” Several former NFL players also paid tribute to Salaam on social media. “I will miss my Heisman brother Rashaan Salaam. He was always smiling and just a lot of fun to be around! #RIP,” wrote another former Heisman winner, Matt Leinart. Ex-NFL star Chad Brown added: “Beyond saddened to hear the news about my @cubuffs teammate and friend Rashaan Salaam. We lost a true Buffalo today.” Denver Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell was a teammate of Salaam’s and offered the following statement to ESPN: Rashaan was as dynamic off the field as he was on the field as a player. He was a fiercely loyal friend, someone who was always in your corner and had your back. He was the ultimate teammate and supportive of everyone in his locker room. If there was ever a guy who was going to get a personal foul for protecting someone on his team, Rashaan was that guy. Last night on a gripping Love & Hip Hop Season 7 Episode 3 on VH1, Bianca’s career came to a screeching halt in light of recent events. How did Drewski decide to handle that? Meanwhile, Snoop and J questioned their future together, which, if you watch Love & Hip Hop online , you know was already suspect. Let’s run down all of the crazy events that took place on the hour… DJ Drewski was definitely playing with fire as he continued to flirt with Bianca. This resulted in an argument between Drewski and his current girlfriend, Sky. The pair were out looking at space for an event, when Bianca started calling Drewski. Sky ordered him to answer the phone. She was obviously curious what the heck the chick wanted and was worrying about her relationship, so she did what she felt was right. What did Bianca want? She wanted to let Drewski know she recorded a song titled “I Miss You” and it apparently reminded her of Drewski. As you can probably expect, Sky was even more worried about her relationship. “I don’t feel respected,” she said. “Check her, or I’m going to check her for you.” Preach it, girl. Sky decided to get back at Bianca in her own way and it was definitely one of the more hilarious moments of the night. Sky met up with Mariahlynn and gave her “Make It Official.” Yeah, that’s the song Drewski was giving to Bianca. After that, Bianca made it clear to Drewski she would be doing whatever she wanted until Drewski married Sky. Things are only going to get worse. Elsewhere, Snoop was confused after her big blowout with Jade, so she turned to Juelz for some advice about what to do to save the relationship. When Juelz got wind of Snoop flirting with the radio host, he admitted that Snoop was the one who went too far. Jade went to Kimbella for advice of her own and revealed she was away for her son and didn’t feel like she was being respected by Snoop. J ade does have a point, but she was the one who chose to leave her son. That’s something she can’t get away from. Things weren’t much better for the women in Mendeeces life. Yandy, Erika, Samantha and Kim Wallace got engaged in a war of words over who was looking after the kids better. It was pathetic and the scene ended rather abruptly when Kim was apparently taking a heart attack and was taken away in an ambulance. That’s one way to leave a tedious situation. Finally, at a lavish party, Sky addressed Bianca as “the woman that wants my man.” The pair then had it out, with Sky threatening to end Bianca’s career by forbidding Drewski from playing her music on the radio. Rumors that Kylie Jenner is pregnant seem to surface about once a month. This time, however, there’s an interesting twist to the probably untrue but nonetheless amusing reports. According to several media outlets, Kylie is involved with a new dude , and thus, might be knocked up with said new dude’s baby. It seems Kylie’s love for D-list rappers knows no bounds, and she’s been spending a lot of time with a hip hop artist named 21 Savage, who’s not to be confused with the band Twenty One Pilots, or the hashtag “#savage,” which we’re told is something the kids like to say. Anyway, Mr. Savage is both slightly younger and slightly more popular than Tyga, which would obviously make him an attractive prospect to Kylie. At 24, he’s only five years older than Kylizzle, and with his single “X”, he has a hit that’s approximately five years younger than Tyga’s only successful track. Sources say 21 swooped in around the time of the most recent Kylie-Tyga breakup . Interestingly, sources say his timing coincided with a pregnancy scare. According to Life & Style , the news that Kylie might be knocked up led to the couple parting ways for reasons that aren’t entirely clear: “[Kylie and Tyga] always talked about having babies together but this was real,” says one insider. “While it was exciting [for Kylie], it was really frightening, too….They’d made a pact that if she got pregnant they would get married. Instead, they broke up.” So it sounds like Kylie briefly thought she was pregnant, broke up with Tyga, hooked up with Savage, and then got back together with Tyga. Still, it’s not hard to see how some folks might have misread the situation and believed that Kylie cheated on Tyga , or even that she was pregnant with Savage’s baby. The important thing is that Kylie is obviously planning to carry on the family tradition of bizarre, high-profile relationship drama.
