Ever since it was announced that Tonya Harding would join Dancing With The Stars to compete against other athletes, controversy has been building. From the moment that it was announced, fans were disgusted that she was giving a shot at public redemption after the Nancy Kerrigan assault during their '90s rivalry. Now, Tonya and her dance partner Sasha have continued to avoid elimination throughout the competition. After their Rumba, they are advancing on to the finale. Tonya's story — from mourning her father to feeling that she's been unjustly blacklisted for years — has won over some fans who are rooting for her. Others are not won over, and they are incensed that she's made it this far. In fact, some think that the show is deliberately keeping her on in order to boost ratings. 1. Some are mad at the voters Remember, Dancing With The Stars has a panel of judges, but fans and viewers also cast their votes. 2. Some people watch with their parents Those who remember Tonya from the ’90s may find her less sympathetic than those who are just now seeing her on television. 3. Lala Kent was forced to go on the offensive Monday night. The Vanderpump Rules veteran found herself the target of her co-stars’ wrath when the topic on the show’s reunion special turned to boyfriend Randall Emmett. Or, to be more specific, to possibly MARRIED boyfriend Randall Emmett . Was Kent’s lover really someone else’s husband when the two started dating? Andy Cohen asked Kent this question directly during the aforementioned gathering. “You’ve been together for a while. You’re clearly very happy. You denied over the years all of the allegations that your boyfriend was married,” Cohen, who moderated the reunion, said on air. He then popped the question: “It seems that maybe he was married when you started dating , correct?” Replied a hesitant Lala: “Well, when I met…Rand…he had a legal separation. So, I don’t see how I did anything wrong.” Emmett is a movie and TV producer. For the record: finalized his divorce in December and he has two children with his ex-wife. All of the Vanderpump Rules cast members confirmed on the special that they have met Kent’s latest lover. The topic on the special eventually turned from Emmett’s marital status to whether Kent is simply digging up gold by dating her new man. That is, what does Kent have to say about the cars, purses and shoes that Emmett has purchased for her? All the “materialistic things,” as Scheana Marie said, eyes fully rolled, during the reunion? Kent was not happy with this implication. She fired back at her colleagues and their implication that she’s only in this relationship for the monetary perks. “Everyone can sit there and be like, ‘Her man does this; her man does that.’ It’s like, ‘OK, you’re just mad ’cause your man doesn’t do that!'” she yelled. And she wasn’t done defending herself, either. “Whenever I make music, it comes out of my pocket,” Kent said, elaborating in angry detail: “My rent? My man gave me a cap, which, we are well above the cap, so mama payin’ a lot for rent. As far as my cars go, it’s like, ‘Here’s the lease, but you best be payin’ insurance.'” Kent also said she’s driving a BMW i8, which can cost as much as $150,000. “I have it for a few months just to, like, dink around,” Kent said, not realizing how awful a job she was doing of shooting down that whole gold digger accusation. Later in the reunion special, Kent was asked to defend her specific “brand” of feminism. Said Lisa Vanderpump at this point: “I love Lala, but she’s not exactly the quintessential feminist if she’s talking about, ‘Well, I give a BJ, and I get the jewelry.'” In response, Kent reminded her boss: “Keep in mind I am blowing my boyfriend. I’m not blowing some random guy for the jewelry. Come on!” That is an important distinction. It’s one thing to go around providing sexual favors in exchange for goods and/or services. There’s a name given to women who do this. But it’s another thing to provide a sexual favor for your exclusive boyfriend, who happens to be well off and who likes to buy you stuff. Just over three years since debate over the color of a certain dress nearly tore families apart, a new question has arisen over social media. And it's a very simple one: Laurel or Yannny? Allow is to explain… Earlier this week, a woman named Cloe Feldman posted a video on her Instagram story, one that was short and sweet and straightforward. “What do you hear? Yanny or Laurel,” asked the footage. Despite the footage clearly saying Laurel (let's be honest here, people), the mere uttering of this single word has divided Hollywood. Ellen DeGeneres, for example, thinks she knows the answer: Literally everything at my show just stopped to see if people hear Laurel or Yanny. I hear Laurel. But Ike Barinholtz disagrees: I truly do not understand where Laurel comes from. I only hear Yanny. This is not a bit, I am so confused. Even though Sister Wives star Kody Brown recently celebrated his anniversary with Meri, rumors swirled that Meri has found a new man . But things still seem to be pretty solid for Kody and Janelle. In fact, the two went on a romantic concert date … and Janelle shared the photos so that everyone could share in the experience. Janelle seems very happy in her marriage. We only wish that this were the case for a certain troubled sister wife of hers. Poor Meri Brown. She’s had a rough go of things. Worst of all was her catfishing scandal which was also a cheating scandal, of sorts. She has seemed so unhappy for a long time. But just a few weeks ago, she and Kody went out and about together to celebrate their anniversary. She’s not Kody’s only wife, of course. Janelle has avoided scandals. She is known for having never legally married Kody (under current laws, he can only legally be married to one wife at a time). She is also known for her dramatic weight loss , and she has gone on to share tips with fans and viewers. It appears that Kody and Janelle treated themselves to a concert. Janelle shared a selfie from the audience and a glimpse of the performance, captioning the photos: “I’ve wanted to see U2 in concert since I was 19.” So this has been a long time coming. “Finally made it 30 years later and with my love.” You could feel how thrilled she was. “So dang excited.” Janelle and Kody are both 49, so it stands to reason that they grew up with relatively similar music tastes — though plenty of people pick up on theri partner’s music. The two saw the U2 show in Las Vegas and Janelle was happy to share a glimpse of that fun with her fans and followers. Fans have noted that Janelle continues to seem happy with her polygamous marriage to Kody. She was, like her sister wives, impacted by Meri’s catfishing scandal. They all were. She noted to Meri that nothing in their marriage happens in a vacuum. It was enough to make Meri wonder if she needed to leave Kody for everyone’s sake . It’s great for Janelle that she enjoys her marriage to Kody — even if it isn’t legally recognized. But some in polyamorous relationships object to Sister Wives because they consider it a negative portrayal. Though Kody wanted to do the series in order to push for acceptance and legalization of polygamy, he may be undercutting his efforts by, well, being himself. His reaction to Meri’s catfishing scandal — admitting that he didn’t even want to have sex with Meri anymore — did not exactly win many people over. Would anyone really blame her if she decided to move on with a new man? A lot of people, including Sister Wives fans, find Kody to be creepy and single-minded and egocentric and generally off-putting. Many viewers enjoy the show, but they watch for the wives — Robyn, Christine, Janelle, and Meri — and for the children. Janelle may be happy with Kody, but some wonder if it’s only a matter of time before Meri leaves him to live a happier life. And that’s assuming that she isn’t in the process of doing that already. Lisa Vanderpump is in mourning. According to The Daily Mail, the long-time Bravo star’s brother, Mark Vanderpump, was found dead at his home in Gloucestershire, England on April 30. He was 59 years old. The aforementioned British newspaper explains that Mark worked as a DJ and that his death is believed to be the result of a drug overdose. As of this writing, it’s unclear whether this overdose was accidental or deliberate. This awful news has only just gone public, but it explains why Lisa has not been updating her social media page or making any statements of late. In a statement released to DailyMail.com, Vanderpump says the tragedy is a “shock to us all,” adding that she last had contact with her sibling the day before he died. He was my only sibling and I am shocked and saddened by his passing. I am trying to be supportive to his two young sons that he has left behind, and help them get through this tragedy. Lisa and Mark often vacationed together, while the latter was a frequent visitor to his sister’s Los Angeles restaurants Sur, Villa Blanca and PUMP. Below, for example, the loved ones are seen together in August of 2014. We don’t wish to speculate wildly and we certainly don’t want to speak ill the dead, but Mark’s 22-year marriage ended in divorce. He appeared on some kind of reality show titled “Gold Diggers and Proud” and was living a “very colorful life until it all sadly went wrong,” an anonymous insider tells The Daily Mail. This same source says Mark had his share of legal troubles, the details of which are not really known at this time. Lisa Vanderpump, meanwhile, has been a cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since 2010. She also stars in a spinoff, Vanderpump Rules, which features her West Hollywood restaurant Sur and its employees. The 57-year-old is also famous for her philanthropy, having founded the Vanderpump Dog Foundation to help fight the sale of dogs for meat. No one associated with either of Vanderpump’s Bravo programs has spoken out yet on this awful development. We’ll update this post with more information as news breaks. For now, however, we simply send our condolences to Lisa Vanderpump and her relatives. May Mark rest in peace.
On Thursday, May 10, an unthinkable tragedy struck. A man, while using a public bathroom stall — already in what most would consider dire circumstances just for being there — had a container of soda with him. Which he apparently spilled in an explosive manner, dousing not only the floor … but the shoes of another man in that restroom. One can only imagine Twitter user Joe Grabinski's horror. But, since humans sadly do not come equipped with self-destruct buttons — though the only socially acceptable response to this situation would be to promptly cease existing — he had no options left but to remain silent and immobile within the stall. And, of course, to crowdsource some advice from Twitter. The resulting thread details the advice that he received, and the remainder of his journey of humiliation and shame. Take a look. 1. Disaster strikes Lacking the matches and accelerant needed to politely immolate himself in apology, Joe did the next best thing: asked Twitter for advice. 2. The first rule: do NOT exit the stall For the moment, he at least has a degree of anonymity. That will change if he walks out that door. He needs to remain unseen in a state of quantum uncertainty (I know that this isn’t what that means) for as long as possible. 3. Chad asks the question that we all immediately wondered You don’t bring a DRINK into the bathroom with you!! You leave it with a friend or you finish it or you throw it out. Maybe if you’re just checking your hair in the mirror, but CERTAINLY not if you’re going to take a seat in the stall. 4. To Joe, this was apparently new advice Not to sound like a germophobe, but microscopic fecal particles are flying all over those public bathrooms at all times. Also, everywhere else inside of every building, including your home, but nowhere with as much concentration as in a bathroom. No drinks need to be in there. 5. Chad points out that the floors are already bad Joe didn’t have any business making them worse. 6. Chad even demonstrates his alternative Please don’t do what Chad did, either. So hey, in case you missed it, there’s been some feuding between the cast members of Teen Mom 2. No, we’re not talking about the weird jealousy issues Jenelle Evans has with Chelsea Houska, or Jenelle’s ridiculous grudge against Leah Messer for daring to suggest that her husband shouldn’t have pulled a knife at a work event. We’re not even talking about perhaps the greatest feud in Teen Mom 2 history, the one between Jenelle and Kailyn Lowry . Nope, today we’re referring to The Great Battle of Javi’s Exes — that’s right, all that nonsense with Kailyn and Briana DeJesus. Things haven’t been great between these two ladies for a good long while now. They were never friends, but they became straight up enemies when Briana started dating Javi last year . As we saw in the season premiere of Teen Mom 2 this week, Briana revealed to Leah that she and Javi were going to take their kids to Disney World together. When Briana talked to Leah, she said that she and Javi weren’t even officially dating — she was pretty vague about everything. But when Leah reported back to Kailyn, she said that the whole thing seemed a little fishy, like Javi and Briana were going to take the kids to Disney World so they could be together, not to have a fun family vacation. She said that Briana had said they were going to stay in the same hotel, which Kail took to mean they were all going to be in one hotel room … the whole thing became a mess very quickly . The big issue, of course, was that Javi was taking two of Kailyn’s children — their son Lincoln as well as her son with Jo Rivera, Isaac — off for a trip without revealing the pretty significant details about Briana. When the episode aired on Monday, Kailyn revealed that her sons “came home calling her girls their cousins” because “that’s the kind of clusterf-ck it turned into.” Also on Twitter, Briana tried to explain that she and Javi had each planned their own Disney trips, and when she found out he was going to be there the same week she was, she invited him to stay with her family “in a 3 bedroom villa,” not in a hotel room. When Kailyn tweeted that because they work together, Briana violated “girl code” by getting with Javi, Briana denied it. “No girl code was broken,” she insisted. “Kail was never my friend. I was always closer to Javi. I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to share my story and keep it moving lol.” Obviously there’s a whole lot going on here, and there’s still a lot we haven’t seen. For example, we haven’t seen the big fight between Kailyn and Briana at last season’s reunion , which seems like it’s going to be good. And we definitely haven’t seen all the feuding that continued after Briana and Javi became official, which honestly was just so, so much. There’s clearly some residual issues between these two ladies, and in a new interview with Radar Online, Briana is spelling everything out for us. “She’s a cry baby,” she said of Kailyn. “The whole Javi situation, it’s already in the past. She needs to get over it. Let it go!” She also said that she’ll likely never be friends with Kailyn, but that she’s fine with that. “I don’t give a sh-t,” she explained. “I’m not here to make friends, I’m here to tell my story. They both tweet about each other, they both bring up things that have happened months ago. Tim Chung would like to have a few words with the Internet. Who , some of you may be wondering? Tim Chung , the heretofore unknown bodyguard of Kylie Jenner who has become an Internet sensation of late for two reasons: 1. He’s very attractive. 2. He may be the biological father of Kylie’s daughter, Stormi Webster . And, yes, we know what you’re thinking: Wait, isn’t Tyga the biological father of Kylie’s daughter, Stormi Webster?!? LOL, just kidding. (Even though this was also a rumor that spread around the Internet shortly after Kylie gave birth to her first child.) For whatever reason, folks simply refuse to accept that Travis Scott is the person who impregnated Jenner… … despite the rapper’s lengthy relationship with the star and despite photos of him at the hospital on the day Jenner became a mother. They really think Tim Chung is the dad . Is there any evidence behind this claim? Any rational reason to hold this belief? Not really. Not at all, actually. But whatever, right?!? It’s fun to consider! Not if you’re Tim Chung it isn’t. This chatter has grown so strong and so loud that Chung actually issued a statement on Instagram in response to the rumor. And he confirmed it!!! Just kidding again. “I am a very private person and would normally never answer to gossip and stories that are so ridiculous that they are laughable,” he wrote online, adding of this wild speculation: “Out of deep respect for Kylie, Travis, their daughter together and their families, I would like to set the record straight that my interactions with Kylie and her family have been limited in strictly a professional capacity only.” So he never got himself all up in there? Not once? “There is no story here and I ask that the media no longer include me in any narrative that is incredibly disrespectful to their family,” the bodyguard concluded. Chung also said as a caption to the above screen capture that this will be his “first and last comment” on the topic. Which we understand. We can see how this has been an awkward situation for him to navigate, especially when his attention is supposed to simply be on keeping Kylie safe. His defensive statement comes shortly after Instagram users flooded social media with side by side photos of Chung and Stormi to point out the resemblance they saw between employee and the three-month old. During this same time period, Kylie and Scott made their red carpet debut as a couple, posing as follows at the 2018 MET Gala. They don’t look like two people overly concerned with this rumor, do they? But it took on a (funny!) life of its own over the past week, forcing Chung to step up and address it at last. Still, even if he didn’t have sex with Kylie, it seems as if Chung could now have sex with, like, any single woman on the Internet. One Twitter user recently looked at his photo and wrote: “Whoooo is Kylie Jenner’s bodyguard AND WHY IS HE SO FINE.” Another added: “Sorry I was late to work, I was busy reading about Kylie Jenners bodyguard on twitter.” So don’t feel too bad for Tim Chung that he’s been at the center of this ongoing storm.
