Big Sean To Make His Acting Debut In Lena Waithe’s Forthcoming Series “Twenties”

Source: Timothy Hiatt / Getty Media powerhouse Lena Waithe is bringing more fire to the small screen with her new series, “Twenties.” The comedy is set in Los Angeles and follows a group of 20-somethings as they navigate life, work and love. Lena explained she wrote the series in her twenties and it is loosely based on her own life. The show, which is set to premiere on BET in 2020, includes an all-star cast including “JoJo” T. Gibbs, Christina Elmore, Gabrielle Graham and Sophina Brown. Rapper Big Sean will make his acting debut on the show, Variety reports. “It really is a figment of my imagination,” Waithe told Variety. “But I’m pulling little things about my drive, my hunger, and the frustrations that come with the business [that can be relatable to anyone].” Lena took to Instagram to announce the show and her excitement around Big Sean’s involvement in the project. “What you think about, you bring about. #Twenties has been a project I’ve been dreaming about for as long as I can remember. Email Submit Since Nipsey was killed on March 31, Lauren hasn’t said much publicly aside from speaking about him at his funeral, at the BET Awards where he was honored in June, and while eulogizing him every now and then on social media. She has been focused on caring for their son, Kross. With that being said, it’s clear the importance Samantha holds in her life for the actress to write such a message. As for the birthday girl, she has been focused on taking care of her brother’s daughter Emani, whom she has been in court fighting for custody of from the child’s mother, Tanisha Foster . If she is successful, Samantha, along with her mother Angelique and brother Samiel, will be co-guardians of Emani . After his passing, Samantha made it clear that she would look out for not only Emani and the rest of the family, but of course, for Lauren as well. “I got Lauren. I got Emani. I got Kross. First Spinderella, Deidra Roper, sued Sandra Denton and Cheryl James for unpaid royalties for her appearances on their reality show and live performances. In response Denton and James said that they would happy to never speak to Spinderella again. And it seems that the feeling is mutual. Spinderella’s attorney, Paul Stafford, released a statement on Roper’s behalf: “Spinderella is seeking injunctive relief due to the immediate and irreparable harm that has been caused to her due to the acts and omissions of the defendants. Before we filed this lawsuit, we intended to resolve the matter with all the defendants, but we were unable to do so, and it’s unfortunate that the defendants have chosen not to try and honor Spinderella’s role in the group or their financial or legal commitments to her. So she was in a position where she had to force her rights and protect her brand, so that’s what we’re doing.” It sucks that things are going down this way. Hopefully, it’s not too late for reconciliation or at least having a conversation that could lead to some increased understanding. Prosecutors requested that Rocky–who’s already spent a month in jail–remain in the country because he was a flight risk, but the judges disagreed.  Prosecutors also asked the judges to impose a 6-month jail sentence for the rapper, saying he should be judged harshly because they claim he threw a bottle at the alleged victim–while A$AP admitted to picking up the bottle, he denies using it on the alleged victim. According to TMZ ,  Rocky got a huge assist on Friday from two eyewitnesses who both said they did NOT see Rocky strike the alleged victim with a bottle, which is the centerpiece of the prosecution’s case. Annoyingly, Donald Chump tweeted following news of Rocky’s release, letting off some of the most insufferable puns anyone has ever heard.
