The man responsible for the creation of almost all of the comic book characters we know and love is being honored with a street named after him in The Bronx. According to reports from The New York Post , City Council voted on Tuesday to co-name University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th Street “Stan Lee Way.” The Marvel icon lived in the area and was also an alum at DeWitt Clinton High School. All there is to do now is to get mayoral sign-off on the proposal for the honor to become official. Stan Lee died in November at the age of 95 and has been highly honored by both fans and actors alike since his passing. At this month’s San Diego Comic-Con, tributes to Lee were all over the place, including a commemorative Stan Lee plush doll that appeared in a bunch of fan photos from the festivities. Source: Derrick Salters/WENN.com / WENN Elizabeth Warren Is Putting Her Plan For Student Loan Debt Into Action As the race heats up between more than a dozen Democratic Presidential candidates, there are certain issues that continue to be brought up time and time again both on the campaign trail and during debates. One of those issues is student loan debt, with the idea of some sort of debt forgiveness being at the top of a lot of a lot of voters’ list. Senator Elizabeth Warren has been vocal about her plan for student loan forgiveness over the past couple of months, but now, she’s really putting that plan into action. The Massachusetts politician introduced a bill on Tuesday that would forgive student loans for tens of millions of Americans, which would mean three-quarters of borrowers would have their balances reset to zero. The Senator first released her plan to do this very thing back in April, but the legislation–which has been dubbed the Student Loan Debt Relief Act–offers new details on how she would go about dismantling the country’s outstanding student debt, which is soon expected to exceed $2 trillion. Under Warren’s newly introduced proposal, borrowers with household incomes under $100,000 would get $50,000 of their student debt completely forgiven. People who earn between $100,000 and $250,000 would be eligible for forgiveness on a sliding scale. And those who earn more than $250,000 would not get any debt relief. For those wondering about the logistics of this whole thing: the degree of debt forgiveness a person receives would be determined by their income in the most recent tax year and the loan cancellations would take about a year from the time the bill is enacted to complete. Though most people crippled by their student loan debt are probably huge fans of this idea, not everyone is on board with completely cancelling out such a tab. Consumer advocacy groups like the National Consumer Law Center came out in support of the plan, saying, “we support bills like the Student Loan Debt Relief Act because it recognizes the enormity of the crisis facing today’s borrowers.” Others oppose the plan, like President and CEO of the Consumer Bankers Association Richard Hunt , who says, “this proposal does nothing to decrease the cost of college and does not help future students.” But all in all, the proposal is popular among voters. In a Politico/Morning Consult poll , 56% of registered voters said they support the Massachusetts senator’s proposal to cancel outstanding education loans by raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans. Only 27% of voters said they opposed the plan. The most recent season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been heavy on the Lisa Vanderpump shade, but light on the lawsuits. Tuesday’s second part of the reunion shed light the things that never made it to the show during the season, and it was wild from start to finish. A fan questioned why the ladies were happy enough to drag LVP and everything she did, yet they were not keeping fans up to speed about their financial situations. “Erika’s happy to talk about Lisa Vanderpump all day, but when it comes to Tom [Girardi] defaulting on a $15 million loan, she doesn’t say a word,” Andy read from a card. “How ’bout this,” Erika shot back. “Resolved, and they apologized.” Andy then tried a similar tactic with Kyle when another fan had a question. “Amy from Texas said, ‘I guess Kyle isn’t gonna mention Mauricio [Umansky] scamming someone out of $37 million when she can just talk about Dorit’s dog.'” Kyle was livid. “My husband did not scam anyone,” she yelled. “That causes problems because my husband’s never made $36 million on a deal in his life!” “That’s what a property sold for, okay? So your question from whoever the f–k Monty is in McGootville saying my husband’s scamming people out of $36 million…” Andy was shook, and checked the card again, before saying “Amy from Texas.” “Okay, Amy from Texas!” Kyle shouted. “That’s a misleading question.” Andy then tried to backtrack by rephrasing the questions. “There’s a lawsuit relating to a dispute about a property.” “And that’s it — a dispute!” Erika said, while Kyle said to Andy, “Yeah, but the way it was worded is damaging, and I don’t appreciate that.” Andy then checked in with Dorit, and said that she also had lawsuits. “He wants a certain amount of money, and no, I can’t get into numbers because it’s an ongoing lawsuit,” she replied. “Andy, the judge has ordered mediation,” Dorit explained. “The judge looked at it and said, ‘Listen, you guys figure this out.’ I am very comfortable in our position. It is in the lawyers’ hands. It doesn’t need to have a discussion because there’s a lot of details about it that I can’t really speak about.” To make things fair, Andy chatted about LVP and a lawsuit against Vanderpump Dogs for wrongful termination. He wanted to know if the ladies thought Lisa would chat about it. “I doubt it, but I would not have brought it up,” Kyle said. “I don’t want to hurt her business or hurt her. As a group of friends, we don’t say, ‘Hey, Erika, so what is going on with that thing?'” “You don’t? I would. If my friend was being sued…” Andy explained, before Kyle cut him off. “Well you would ’cause look what you do for a living.” Elsewhere, Lisa Rinna opened up about her daughter going public with her eating disorder on Instagram. She admitted that she had no idea Amelia was telling the world about her struggles. “It’d probably been going on for longer than we know, but when you physically see it, it’s undeniable,” she said. “You can’t ignore it.” “When we had that barbecue, I think that that was a really pivotal point,” Rinna added. Andy then asked about how Harry should have reacted, prompting Rinna to reply, “Well, from what the therapist told him when he went to see the therapist, she said, ‘You have to shut the f–k up.’ And those were the exact words that she said to him.” “Amelia’s gone through a lot in her anorexia,” Rinna explained. “She’s quite healthy right now. Right in this moment. And recently, people have said, ‘Well, you don’t look anorexic. You’re not that thin.’ Which is a really big trigger. It’s f–king difficult.” Things took a turn when Andy essentially asked if Rinna being conscious about her eating habits and weight could have contributed to Ameilia’s issues. “Probably, yeah,” Rinna confessed. “Do I have any food issues? I probably do ’cause I’m in this business.” Meanwhile, the ladies opened up about the way Camille acted throughout the season. “Here’s what happens,” Kyle said to Camille. “When we’re together, you will say things like, ‘I know who Lisa is, she’s done this to me, she’s done that.’ And when you’re not with us, you’re like, ‘Lisa, I feel so bad with what you’re going through.'” “Can I feel both? I can feel both,” Camille wondered, prompting Dorit to point out, “Not if they contradict one another.” “You’ve got to have conviction,” Kyle continued. “Okay, my conviction is I felt terrible that her brother passed away,” Camille said. “What human wouldn’t?!” Kyle fired back. Teddi Mellencamp subsequently chimed in. “But you can still say she has terrible breath and her gums are receding?!” “That was a joke, and you all laughed! And you all laughed!” Camille yelled as she looked at Kyle. “And you continued with the conversation and said, ‘Yes, don’t get me into it, but she’s always had bad breath.'” “Yes, you have! That is bullshit! You’ve talked about that off camera with me!,” Camille continued. “Camille, that’s such a f–king low blow,” Kyle screamed across the couch. “We’ve all said things privately about each other. You would think that a famous married athlete caught cheating would bend over backwards to confess to everything so that he can move forward. But Jim Edmonds swears that he never touched his alleged mistress, claiming that their affair was limited to sexting. Meghan King Edmonds is explaining why she believes this claim. Among other things … she says that the woman was just too darn ugly. Wow . “We’re still married, we’re still together, we’re not separated,” Meghan King Edmonds makes extremely clear to The Daily Mail this week. “I know my engagement ring is well known!” she acknowledges. “I’m still wearing it. I’ve never stopped wearing it.” “We’re in the family home,” Meghan details. “We’re in the same bed.” “We’re not having therapy,” she notes. “We’re talking.” Some would suggest a little of both but hey, whatever works. Meghan then delves into why, despite her obvious distress over her husband’s scandal, the other woman’s character played a role in her reaction. “This woman is a con artist,” Meghan characterizes. “She’s gone after so many baseball players.” “She was out to get some money and she got it, then she was on to the next one,” she assessed. “It was a baiting kind of thing,” Meghan describes. “She would do that and move on. Believe me, I am still mad at him.” “But once I figured that out, what she was like,” she adds. “I was able to pull our family together. It actually made it more bearable.” Meghan and Jim are not a family unto themselves, of course. The famous couple shares a daughter, 2-year-old Aspen. They also have a pair of twin sons, Hayes and Hart, who are each 13 months old. Meghan is the first to admit that Jim’s scandal did not take place in a vacuum. She reveals that the children “picked up on the anxiety in the house.” “I’m an open book,” Meghan says. “And I think it is important to be open and honest with the whole family.” “But,” she adds, she only wanted to so so “on an age-appropriate level.” “With my daughter, when we would say our nightly prayers,” Meghan says, she would tentatively address the topic. According to Meghan: “I said to her, ‘We need to pray for Mommy and Daddy that we learn to love each other so, so much again.'” “‘Because we do love each other so, so much and we need to learn it again because we are so, so sad right now,'” Meghan recalls. That’s a hell of a lot of pressure to put on a two year old. As Meghan admits: “That was hard.” So why is she so confident that none of Jim’s cheating took place in person? “The second I saw her photo I saw she was disgusting,” Meghan describes of Jennifer McFelia Villegas. “I knew he would never touch her,” she says. “That helped me. Then I knew it was just a sexting thing.” “The pics she sent him were all highly filtered,” Meghan reveals. “And she had sunglasses on, body parts were altered.” “It was all very sex-related,” she notes. We’ve been following the sad saga of Hayden Panettiere for several months now, and unfortunately, the situation seems to get more frightening by the day. The Heroes and Nashville actress is in a relationship with a man named Brian Hickerson, and family and friends have begun to fear for her safety — and for good reason. Hickerson was arrested for domestic violence back in May following an incident that was initially shrouded in secrecy. Police later revealed that Panettiere was Hickerson’s alleged victim , and the altercation took place at the home the couple shares. Hickerson has pled not guilty and is currently free on bond. Obviously, that incident terrifying enough on its own. But it’s not the only indication that Brian is at best a bad influence on Hayden and at worst a real threat to her safety. Hickerson is also facing charges for assaulting his father, and police reports indicate that Hayden was on hand and witnessed the incident. Hickerson is allegedly a very heavy drinker, and insiders say this habit has rubbed off on Hayden in a big way. Back in February — shortly after her relationship with Hickerson began — a drunken Panettiere was photographed vomiting on a public sidewalk. Needless to say, the situation has left many concerned, not the least of whom is Wladimir Klitschko then Ukranian boxer who is father to Hayden’s 4-year-old daughter. “Wladimir hit the roof when this stuff came to light,” a source tells the outlet. “They may be miles apart and co-parenting a child together, but he won’t stand for anyone hurting the mother of his child.” Hickerson might be tempted to take comfort in the fact that Klitschko lives several thousand miles away, but that distance may not serve as a protective barrier for much longer. The insider tells Radar that Klitschko plans to pay a visit to the US “very soon,” and his primary reason for doing so is checking in on the mother of his child. Frankly, the 6’6″ heavyweight can’t make the trip soon enough. Recent court filings claim that Hickerson beat Panettiere two times in the span of three days . But despite the fact that Panettiere has an order of protection against Hickerson , she remains in a relationship with him. Her family has spoken out and urged her to break things off — but at this point, a visit from Klitschko to Hickerson might be the most powerful tool of persuasion available. Andrew Glennon appears to have finally had it with Amber Portwood. The father of a 14-month old son named James has made this pretty clear by filing first for an order of protection against his estranged girlfriend… and then for primary custody of their shared toddler. This all happened, of course, after Portwood was arrested for allegedly attacking Glennon on the morning of July 5.
