We have an entire summer to prepare for the scares of Guillermo del Toro’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark , the horror movie with a truly creepy, whisper-filled trailer and good-looking victims like Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce. Lionsgate Picks Up Barry Levinson’s Found Footage Water Bug Horror Pic The Bay

After directing Al Pacino to a Golden Globe win in last year’s You Don’t Know Jack , it seems Barry Levinson needed a change of pace — like, a major 180. And that’s how we come to today’s news that Levinson’s next film, a found footage creature horror called The Bay (working title: Isopod ), has been picked up for distribution by Lionsgate.

New Posters for Joss Whedon’s Cabin in the Woods Mock Its Countless Delays

Screenwriter Joss Whedon and director Drew Goddard must be thrilled with and annoyed by their much-delayed horror film The Cabin in the Woods , because their new marketing campaign reflects the completed MGM movie’s lack of a release date. Nothing is more effective in “horror” font than sarcasm, apparently.

TRAILER: Could Friends with Benefits Be the Movie No Strings Attached Wished It Was?

Confession time: I love Justin Timberlake. Not his music career, mind you — though who doesn’t love a little ” Rock Your Body ” every once in a while — but his acting one. You can grumble that he jumped the shark with endless appearances on SNL and his performance as himself — er, Sean Parker in The Social Network , but for my money, Timberlake constantly hits it out of the park. He even makes something as disposable as Bad Teacher look moderately watchable in a “Let’s wait to see it on a Wednesday night on HBO2 !” sort of way. All of which is a long way around saying that his presence in Friends with Benefits is key to making this summer rom-com look positively charming.

In this corner, the horror of Hazlet, N.J., one of the most b!tchy, grating, stuck up, painfully annoying and unpleasant girls ever, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola! In the other corner, hailing from the Bronx, the worst boyfriend in human history, an idiotic, abusive, alcoholic meathead with rage issues, Ronnie Magro! These two fight every waking hour, but on Thursday night (see our Jersey Shore recap for the full rundown), things finally reached the point of no return. No woman deserves to be treated like Sam did, ever. Yet she remains a bratty button-pusher who’s very hard to sympathize with for a litany of reasons. What did you think? Did Ron go too far?
