Royal Baby Photos, Video: Kate Middleton, Prince William Debut Newborn Son!

New parents Kate Middleton and Prince William debuted the Royal Baby just moments ago, posing outside the hospital door with the young one. Royal Baby Video One day after his birth, the as-yet-unnamed Prince of Cambridge made his global debut outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. Palace reps confirmed that “the Duchess is to be discharged from the hospital.” The new family are expected to briefly go back inside the facility, put the newborn in his car seat, and then head home to Kensington Palace this evening. Royals. They’re just like us. Kate Middleton and Prince William, both 31, smiled for hundreds of cameras and cheering well-wishers while offering the first glimpse of their little one. “He’s got a good pair of lungs on him that’s for sure. He’s a good boy, he’s quite heavy,” said William of his son, who Kate gave birth to on Monday. The youngster weighed a healthy 8 lbs., 6 oz. “It’s the first time we’ve seen him, really we haven’t had a proper chance to catch up,” William added. Added the tired, but glowing new mother, “It’s such a special time.” “I think any parent probably sort of knows what this feeling is like.” William added: “I’ll remind him of his tardiness when he’s a bit older!” Well played, you guys. Then there was this zinger: Added William: “He’s got her looks, thankfully.” As for the name, he said they’re “still working on” one. So don’t hold your breath for that announcement today … though they’ll likely pick one soon! Back in 1982, an infant William made his own world debut as parents Princess Diana and Prince Charles introduced him on the very same steps. Diana wore polka dots, not unlike Kate today. Kate and William acknowledged the hard work of the staff at St. Mary’s in a statement earlier, and we eagerly await more details on their bundle of joy. Kate Middleton Gives Birth to Royal Baby: It’s a BOY!

The royal baby is here! The royal baby is here! After many weeks of keeping the masses waiting on pins and needles and keeping us guessing as to her due date, Kate Middleton has given birth. She and Prince William have welcomed a baby boy! A royal aide just announced the joyful news moments ago with a proclamation signed by the doctors who delivered the little HRH Prince of Cambridge! Well, not SO little. His weight (8 pounds, 6 ounces) and the time of its birth (4:24 p.m.) were confirmed, along with the gender, via press release. An official gun salute in London’s Hyde Park is expected shortly, and the bells of St Paul’s Cathedral are already ringing in honor of the future King. Ever since Kate went into labor early Monday morning, Royal Baby Watch 2013 reached a fever pitch outside London’s St. Mary’s Hospital and worldwide. Now that it’s over, it’s finally cause for celebration. Kate Middleton and Prince William did not find out the gender beforehand, setting off a national guessing game (and online betting frenzy) for months. They kept all facets of her pregnancy as private and low-key as possible. When Kate and William did finally arrive at the hospital this morning, they did it their way, with no fanfare, no sirens and not even a police escort. Just a dark Range Rover and a shiny new Audi nosing their way calmly through the traffic-free streets of London after dawn, cagily evading the media. William has been by his wife’s side all week as they moved from Kate’s parents house to Kensington Palace, just a mile from the hospital, last weekend. Queen Elizabeth II now has three living heirs: Prince Charles, her eldest son, William, his eldest son, and the first-born son of William and Kate. And, Her Majesty gets to go on holiday without missing this now. Phew! Charles said: “Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine.” “We are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy,” he adds. “We are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.” The official confirmation notice says very little, only that Kate was “safely delivered of a son” and she and the baby are doing well. Check it out: The succession rules were recently changed so that for the first time ever, Will and Kate’s first baby would become the heir(ess), regardless of gender. That was cool, but in the end, the traditionalists got their wish. Our heartfelt congratulations to Kate, William, their families and everyone in the UK on the most celebrated moment since Andy Murray won Wimbledon ! Just kidding. Although that was pretty cool to see, too. It is now hoped that the boy’s name might be announced as soon as tomorrow. The father not being invited to Cory’s viewing…now that’s cold. Cory Monteith’s Father Not Invited To Private Viewing We understand his parents are divorced, but that man still had a right to see his son. SMH. According to TMZ Cory Monteith’s body was cremated Tuesday in Vancouver following a private viewing with his family and girlfriend Lea Michele, TMZ has learned — but Cory’s father wasn’t invited … and he’s heartbroken. Cory’s dad Joe Monteith — who is divorced from Cory’s mom Ann — tells TMZ … he was informed of the cremation after the fact, adding he’s “totally devastated” he didn’t get a chance to see Cory’s body. We’re told Cory’s body was released yesterday to his mom, and she decided to hold a viewing at the hospital with Lea and Cory’s brother Shaun. Following the viewing, we’re told Cory’s mom decided to have him cremated. Cory’s dad tells us, “I always loved both my sons and am going to miss Cory very very much. I’m saddened at the fact that I couldn’t have been there to see my son before he was cremated.” As for Cory’s alleged drug use … his dad says he’s “shocked.” We wish his family well. R.I.P.

Remind us never to go to Coney Island Hospital . Man Dies From Botched Blood Transfusion According to The NY Post There’s bad blood at Coney Island Hospital — and it’s deadly. A 40-year-old male patient died at the city-run hospital last week after receiving the wrong type blood during a transfusion, The Post has learned. Transfusions that don’t match a patient’s blood type — giving Type-A to a person who is Type-B, for example — causes the body to attack the new red blood cells, a violent and painful reaction that can lead to shock and a fatal kidney shutdown. “The blood was mislabeled in the lab. It wasn’t a nursing issue,” said one hospital professional who spoke yesterday on condition of anonymity. “It shouldn’t have happened. It’s just carelessness. “It’s a huge problem,” he added. A source said the fatal error occurred in the hospital’s sixth-floor lab, where blood drawn from patients is screened and “typed.” A technician labeled the patient’s blood as the wrong type, and the patient was given the wrong blood during a transfusion. Yesterday the lab was shuttered. Blood for Coney Island Hospital patients is now being typed by technicians at Kings County Hospital Center, with the results then phoned in to Coney Island. Coney Island continues to maintain its own stores of banked blood, and surgeries and ER treatment have not been curtailed. Still, emergency-surgery patients are for now all being given Type-O blood, because it can be used universally. “Our deepest condolences go out to the family . . . We are working with the state to resolve the situation as quickly as possible,” said Ian Michaels, spokesman for the city Health and Hospitals Corporation. We feel for his family. The fall television season may be months away, but executives were hard at work over the last few days, lining up one impressive guest star after another. Courtesy of our friends at TV Fanatic, here’s a rundown of some familiar faces who will be in some very familiar faces come September and October… Justin Hartley will come on board Revenge season 3 as Victoria’s abandoned child. Natalie Zea is set to return as Claire on The Following season 2. Sonya Walger will recur as an architect who works alongside Joel on Parenthood season 5. Giancarlo Esposito will take a break from Revolution to pop up again on an episode of Once Upon a Time season 3 . Kristen Bell will take on Leslie Knope as a Councilwoman from Eagleton on Parks and Recreation season 6. Adam Lambert will appear on Glee Season 5, possibly as the coach of Vocal Adrenaline. Cote de Pablo is out. She will appear on the NCIS Season 11 opener and then depart as Ziva. Lisa Edelstein will be a federal agent on Castle season 6. This is not Brandi Glanville’s week when it comes to body parts. First, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member practically showed it all when stumbling drunk out of a bar crawl. Now, Brandi has taken to Twitter to whine about her broken hand, which she suffered in self-defense class Wednesday evening. Take a look at it here: “We are at circus my hand is throbbing and swollen and I couldn’t do my hair at all but its amazing!” Glanville Tweeted yesterday, proving her self-centeredness toughness. She isn’t the only celebrity this week to share her injury via a social network. Mariah Carey dislocated her shoulder during a music video shoot and then posted a video of herself leaving the hospital . We’re not sure why these women feel the need to publicize their pain to the public. Seems a bit self-serving and conceited. But we should take it easy on them. At Mariah and Brandi are not murderers .

Randy can be crazy sometimes, but we hope he gets better. Randy Travis Suffers Stroke According to TMZ Randy Travis suffered a stroke … and is currently in emergency surgery to relieve pressure from his brain. According to the country star’s publicist he was in a Texas hospital this evening getting treatment for his ongoing heart issues when the stroke hit. As we previously reported … Travis was airlifted to a hospital on Sunday when a viral illness led to congestive heart failure — and doctors had inserted a tiny pump to assist in stabilizing his heart. Just a few hours ago, one of Randy’s doctors said he was stable and “showing signs of improvement.” The rep says Randy’s family and friends are the hospital now … waiting for him to come out of surgery. He is listed in critical condition. Randy is having heart issues and strokes. Cotdamn. Splash News

This is w rong on so many levels. Dead Patient Opens Eyes Moments Before Organ Surgery According to The Washington Times A hospital in upstate New York was fined and forced to undergo an independent quality assurance analysis after a media outlet’s Freedom of Information Act request revealed egregious acts of medical malpractice on the part of staff and doctors. One example of the findings: A drug overdose victim who was deemed dead by Syracuse St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center doctors and prepped for organ removal shocked the operating room when she opened her eyes, the Telegraph reported. Yet medical professionals shouldn’t have been so surprised, the investigation found. They had plenty of tips that the woman — a 41-year-old drug addict who later committed suicide — was not dead. A spokeswoman for the Consumers Union Safe Patient Project, a group that aims for more accountability by medical professionals, says the nurse who was preparing the woman for organ removal actually noticed her toes curled during a required reflex test. And the woman’s nostrils appeared to be moving in an in-and-out breathing motion in the minutes before her planned post-mortem surgery. “Dead people don’t curl their toes,” said Dr. Charles Wetli, a forensic pathologist from New Jersey, in the Telegraph. “And they don’t fight against the respirator and want to breathe on their own.” But just 20 minutes after medical staff recorded the woman’s nostril motions, a nurse injected her with a sedative and sent her on the way to the operating room. The hospital was forced to submit a plan of corrective action to New York’s Health Department in August 2011. And the hospital was fined and ordered to hire outside consultants to help oversee its work — and to teach how to diagnose death. The hospital said in a statement reported by the Telegraph: “We’ve learned from this experience and have modified our policies to include the type of unusual circumstances presented in this case.” The state began its investigation of the hospital on the heels of a Freedom of Information Act from The Syracuse Post-Standard. WTF? How you spend all that money on medical school and can’t tell a dead patient from a living one?

Kyra Sedgwick Chops Off Piece of Finger in Kale Cutting Incident

No one ever said that eating healthy is a totally safe endeavor. Just ask Kyra Sedgwick. The actress was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after slicing off a piece of her finger with a kitchen knife while chopping some kale, we can only presume for something as scrumptious as kale pesto . “@kyrasedgwick in the ER. Kale isn’t ALLWAYS HEALTHY… if you chop the end of your finger off,” husband Kevin Bacon posted along with this photo of her in a bandage. As evidenced by the second picture above, however, all is well in this Hollywood household. “My Baby is fine,” Bacon later assured his followers. “All good. Still can’t find the tip of that finger @kyrasedgwick.”
