Melissa Gilbert suffered a scary spill Monday, but will be okay. The actress, who wound up in the hospital after she fell during the paso doble on Dancing With the Stars last night, offered an update as to her status. “I’m alright. Mild concussion and whiplash,” she tweeted in the hours following the spill. “Very soon I’ll be safely home resting and being taken care of.” Clearly there were no hard feelings toward her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, as Melissa later wrote: “@Maksim you are my champion. Contestant suffered a ‘mild concussion and whiplash’ after falling during Monday night’s performance. But on Monday night’s episode, former “Little House on the Prairie” star Melissa Gilbert appeared to suffer one of the worst two-stepping mishaps in show history. While the judges were high on her bad-girl take on the paso doble, the real news was that Gilbert, 47, slipped at one point and though the audience didn’t notice, she suffered a head injury that required hospitalization. Host Tom Bergeron announced the news on the show, but didn’t give much detail. “If you’re wondering why Melissa and [dancing partner] Maks [Chmerkovskiy] are not here, she injured herself and as a precaution has gone to the hospital to get it checked out,” Bergeron said on the show, promising a full update on Tuesday night’s results show. Gilbert hit her Twitter account shortly after to explain her absence, writing, “I’m alright. Mild concussion and whiplash. Fresh off another very strong performance, the future of one of our favorite American Idol contestants is in doubt. TMZ confirms that Phillip Phillips – who covered Stevie Wonder’s ” Superstition ” to close out last night’s performance show – was rushed to the hospital this morning with abdominal pain. Details remain scarce, but sources close to the singer say the condition may be gallstones and that Phillips suffered through a similar condition in January and also sought medical attention for it at that time. Let’s all hope the scare isn’t anything serious and that Phillips, who Randy Jackson compared to Dave Matthews last week and who sits near the top of all power rankings, is healthy enough to continue on the show. We’ll update this story as more news breaks. Tila, 30, was released from the hospital on Monday and according to a source close to her, the 4’11″ reality TV personality dropped from just 100 pounds to a frail 78 pounds. “It was terrifying for Tila and death was knocking at her door,” the source exclusively told RadarOnline.com. “She was in two hospitals for the span of a week and is still not in perfect health, so she’s going to check into an outpatient program.” According to the source, Tila suffered a brain aneurysm in the middle of the night, which caused her to think irrationally. Due to the pain, she took two bottles of unspecified heavy prescription drugs. “Tila threw up all over her bed after overdosing and felt like she was dying. She was screaming for help, and in desperation, broke her bedroom window and attempted to jump out,” the source said. “Finally a friend came over after getting a strange text from her and found her convulsing on the bed. We hope the judge throws the book at this sicko : A man in Ohio has been arrested for felony assault after subjecting his girlfriend to a beating so severe that it ruptured her breast implant. He then took her to the hospital, but threatened to kill her if she told the staff there how she sustained her injuries. Good grief. According to the police report, 60-year-old Samuel Cole and his 52-year-old girlfriend got into a verbal altercation early on Sunday morning that escalated to Cole beating her. The woman said that at one point, he attempted to suffocate her, and she passed out. He threatened her with further harm if she told anyone, but staff at the hospital were able to discern from the woman’s injuries that foul play was involved, and they called the authorities. Cole’s in jail, being held on a $50,000 bond and has been ordered to refrain from contacting the victim.
