Teen Mom Season Finale Recap: So Close, Yet So Far

On Monday night’s season finale of Teen Mom O.G., someone almost got engaged, someone almost went to court and someone almost broke up. Can you match the Original Girls of Teen Mom with these respective storylines? Let’s find out as we break down all the latest drama on MTV … Watch Teen Mom Season 11 Episode 10 Online All of the most entertaining segments of Teen Mom Season 11 Episode 10 involved Farrah Abraham, forever the walking, talking contradiction. Despite appearing in porn (we know, Farrah, it’s a sex tape, not a porno ) creating a line of sex toys and writing erotic novels, she is still so pure. That’s why she won’t let boyfriend Simon Saran live with her until they get hitched … which he does not seem all that interested in doing ASAP. Simon told her he needed at least two years before getting serious, which Farrah interpreted to mean two years before popping the question. Farrah did not take this well. “I’m not waiting two years to get engaged to you,” she told her boyfriend, ’cause “That’s for ugly girls, babe.” Well, yeah. To get down to brass tacks, she decided to introduce the man in her life to her daughter Sophia and literally force the two to bond. Seriously. Farrah physically forced Sophia’s head to rest on Simon’s lap while driving a car in the most hilariously uncomfortable scene ever. After that experience and being strangled with his own seatbelt, Simon may have flown the coop faster than you can say Backdoor Teen Mom . For Farrah, the season ended with her dialing and re-dialing his number countless times. We feel like this romance may not be built to last. View Slideshow: 29 Most Cringe-Worthy Farrah Abraham Pics Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley know the feeling. The parents of Leah were once again feuding over custody and just irate with each other. Why? We honestly don’t even have any idea anymore. She loves her daughter, though. Amber and her fiance turned a romantic weekend into a play date for Leah so they could spend time with her. Very sweet. As for Portwood family members’ opinion on the sort of shady seeming Matt Baier , it’s not good. That’s the nicest way we can put it. On the plus side? No court battle with Gary. Cooler heads prevailed … for now. The Big Fella also became a dad for the second time recently. Meanwhile, Catelynn Lowell had a big trip to L.A. coming up and decided to leave newborn baby Nova Reign in the care of her mother, April. Given the pair’s history, this was a very big deal. April was hoping to see her other grandchild, Carly, for the first time since her birth, but Carly’s adoptive mother Teresa didn’t agree to bring her. Disappointing? Yes. But the name of the game. “You taught me a lot about adoption I didn’t know,” April told her dughter proudly. “It’s not like you’re just giving your baby away. I correct people now.” View Slideshow: Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra: Through the Years “‘They didn’t give her away. They placed her.'” Wow. Is it dusty in here or is it just us?! Down in Tennessee, mama-to-be Maci Bookout went on a house hunt … without Bentley, who she is not allowing to film because she hates Farrah. Oh yes … Farrah Abraham and Maci Bookout are in the midst of a beef so nasty it’s going to be worth watching the reunion episodes for that alone. But back to the matter at hand, Maci could not help but wonder when Taylor McKinney will propose to her. A good sign? Ryan Edwards approves. “She’s in a really serious relationship with the guy she’s having a baby with,” her first baby daddy told a friend. “His name’s Taylor, he’s a great dude.” “Couldn’t ask for better with that. Gotta put up with her until Bentley’s at least 18, but really for the rest of my life. So I really hope they seal the deal.” Ryan actually moved us a little right there. Taylor, not so much. We saw the bearded one go ring shopping, then later, back at home, reach over to “get a surprise” from the bedside table … A Bud Light. “Guess you’ll have to stay tuned!” McKinney said, practically asking for a raise from MTV and/or a backhanded slap to the face by his baby mama. John Nash Dies: A Beautiful Mind Mathematician Was 86

John Nash, the Nobel Prize-winning mathematician whose life inspired the acclaimed 2001 film A Beautiful Mind, was killed in a car accident in New Jersey on Saturday. He was 86 years old. Nash’s wife, Alicia, was also killed in the crash. Police say the couple was riding in a taxi without seatbelts and were thrown from the vehicle when it struck a guardrail. Nash was best known for his work with game theory and he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1994. The Ron Howard-directed biopic about Nash’s life depicted not only his mathematical brilliance, but also his lifelong struggle with schizophrenia. A Beautiful Mind went on to win four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Moments ago, Russell Crowe, who portrayed Nash in the film, tweeted, “Stunned…my heart goes out to John & Alicia & family. Beautiful minds, beautiful hearts.” In their later years, the Nashes devoted themselves to working with mental health advocacy groups. Jennifer Connelly won an Oscar for her her portrayal of Alicia Nash in the movie that made the couple household names outside of the mathematics community. R.I.P. Popular Bassist Louis Johnson Dead At Age 60

We’re sad to share the loss of another legend. According to Rolling Stone reports: Louis Johnson, founding member of funk band the Brothers Johnson and an in-demand bassist who appeared on Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” and “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough,” died on Thursday, May 21st. He was 60. Johnson’s nephew Troy confirmed his death to Rolling Stone, though a cause of death has yet to be revealed. “I’ve never been given parts to play in my whole life. I’m the most rare bass player in the whole world,” Johnson told Rolling Stone contributing writer Steve Knopper in 2013 for the upcoming book  MJ: The Genius of Michael Jackson . “No one ever gave me music paper to read; no one ever gave me anything to read. They tell me, ‘Here’s a track, play what you want.’” The Los Angeles-based Brothers Johnson, a group featuring Louis and his brother George, got their start backing up Quincy Jones before releasing their acclaimed, Jones-produced debut LP Look Out for #1 in 1976. Over the next five years, the Brothers Johnson racked up three Number One hits on the R&B charts: 1976’s “I’ll Be Good to You,” their 1977 cover of Shuggie Otis’ “Strawberry Letter 23,” and 1980’s smash “Stomp!” (Their rendition of “Strawberry Letter 23″ was later featured prominently in Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown .) The Brothers Johnson’s 1980 album Light Up the Night , featuring “This Had to Be”  co-written by Michael Jackson and featuring the King of Pop on background vocals, ascended to the top of the R&B album charts. After the brothers parted ways in the early Eighties to pursue solo careers, Louis became known for his bass-playing prowess, emerging as a prolific, in-demand session musician. Johnson served as the primary bassist on Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall and later lent his skills to Jackson’s Thriller (“Billie Jean,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” “P.Y.T.”), Paul McCartney’s Give My Regards to Broad Street soundtrack and the all-star “We Are the World” collaboration. Johnson is also credited with creating the bass line from Michael McDonald’s hit version of Leiber & Stoller’s “I Keep Forgettin’,” a melody that was later sampled by Warren G and Nate Dogg for “Regulate.” Over his long career, Johnson also worked with Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Herb Alpert and George Benson. “I had access to all musicians and artists, from Barbra Streisand to Paul McCartney to Michael Jackson,” Johnson told Rolling Stone . “It was like an open door. The Lord blessed me with that — I prayed to God and my prayer he answered. He said, ‘OK, you got the whole world now.’ Every time I’d get in the car to go somewhere, I’d hear me playing the bass… I was all over the place. I released the funk on everybody.” As news of Johnson’s death spread, hip-hop artists, funk legends and bassists inspired by “Thunder Thumbs” showed love on social media. “Thank you for blessing me and the world with your original #funk. RIP,” Lenny Kravitz tweeted , while Bootsy Collins added , “Another Brick in our music foundation has left the building. Mr. ‘Louis Johnson.’” Slave’s Steve Arrington wrote , “Just heard the great bass player and song writer Louis Johnson has passed away. Awe man….Going to miss U Thunder Thumbs.” My Morning Jacket bassist Tom Blankenship  and the Roots’ Questlove wrote similar tributes  to Johnson. Wow. What a huge loss for music. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. We are so thankful for the amazing legacy he leaves behind.
