Amanda Knox Verdict: GUILTY of Murder, Sentenced to 28 Years

An Italian court has returned a verdict in the third trial of Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, in the 2007 death of Meredeth Kercher: Knox was found guilty of the crime for the second time in the notorious case. Amanda was sentenced to 28 years and six months in jail, though it’s rather unclear if she’ll ever serve even a day of that. More on that in a second. The first two trials produced flip-flop verdicts of guilty then innocent for Knox and Sollecito, who were acquitted on appeal in 2011 after four years in custody. An appeals court found that important evidence regarding blood and DNA had been handled improperly by investigators, leading to the released of the duo. But Italy’s supreme court, called the Court of Cassation, dismissed that ruling based on what it said was key evidence that had been omitted during the appeal. A new trial, at which Amanda Knox did not appear, began in 2013. The three-day deliberations were closely watched as jurors were tasked with either confirming or overturn the initial guilty verdict “as if the acquittal never happened.” Jurors deliberated into the night before delivering the guilty verdict that comes as a blow to Knox and Sollecito, who can lodge a further appeal with the Supreme Court. However, judge Alessandro Nencini reacted sternly to her emailed statement, noting that defendants have a right to be heard if they appear in person. Some experts say it is unlikely Knox will return to Italy. Ever. Because U.S. law dictates that a person cannot be tried twice on the same charge, she is likely to fight extradition on those grounds if Italy seeks it. Sollecito, meanwhile, did appear at the trial and faces arrest.

According to In Touch: Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss’ mom, Joyce, has made it clear that she doesn’t want her daughter to marry fiancé Todd Tucker. And in the new issue of In Touch, on newsstands now, she makes another dig at the production manager, saying he’s more in love with himself than her daughter! “Kandi’s on one page, and Todd is on his page,” Joyce tells In Touch, noting that her daughter had originally wanted a Valentine’s Day ceremony. “Kandi is in love — and Todd is in love with Todd. He could love Kandi, but he loves Todd more.” Kandi has been in full wedding-planning mode on the Bravo show, so it must have come as a shock when Todd recently told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, “We’re taking it day-by-day,” when asked on Jan. 19 about the nuptials. “She really loves him, for whatever reason,” Joyce adds. “Todd’s got a good game.” We’re surprised Todd hasn’t done the Miguel leg drop on Mama Joyce the way she keeps disrespecting him.

Meet Park Seo-yeon, a South Korean woman, makes $9,000 a month from fans who like to watch her eat for hours each day, according to reports. Known as “The Diva” online, Seo-yeon cooks up elaborate meals, sits down and ingests them in front of a camera, all while chatting with her adoring fans. Who pay handsomely for the privilege of doing so, obviously. Park Seo-yeon: Watch Me EAT! Almost surprisingly, there is no sex or nudity involved. Nor is there remote suggestion of it. Any hoovering she does involves food and food alone. The web craze is called “Meok-Bang” and it cures loneliness and hunger pangs … seriously. This is a thing and it’s reportedly common in South Korea. “People enjoy the vicarious pleasure of my online show when they can’t eat that much, don’t want to eat food at night, or are on a diet,” Seo-yeon said. It boils down in part to demographics: South Korea, one-person households are common and becoming more so. They could comprise a third of the population in 15 years, officials believe. As for Seo-yeon, she was working at a consulting agency before she quit that gig to eat full-time. The Diva streams daily starting between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Her “Meok-bang” sessions last for hours. A seemingly endless smorgasbord of delicious food – Korean food, pizza, pasta, steak, you name it – can be (not at all sexually) enjoyed along with her. As many as 3,500 Meok-Bangers are believed to be doing this in that country, though, so don’t think you can just jump on into this new career field. You gotta earn a following.

Another Justin Bieber scandal, another photo of Justin Bieber and his brother posted online in an attempt to soften the image of the troubled star. A few weeks ago, after allegedly egging his neighbor’s house, Bieber posted a couple cute shots of himself and his siblings. Now, a day after Bieber was booked in Toronto on charges of criminal assault, his father has Tweeted a picture of Justin and brother Jaxon in bed. “Safe and sound #homesweethome,” Jeremy Bieber wrote as a caption. Bieber stands accused of striking a limo driver in the head during the early hours of December 30. It’s unclear what prompted this attack, but sources say multiple witnesses have verified that Bieber was picked up by a limousine around 3 a.m. after a night of partying in Canada. He was in the vehicle with five or six entourage members when the incident went down. Justin, of course, is ALSO accused of drunk driving and drag racing in Miami last week. According to toxicology reports, he had weed and prescription pills in his system at the time of his arrest. Justin Bieber was high on marijuana and prescription medication when he was arrested this month. When he was arrested this month in Miami , we should say. We now need to make a distinction because Bieber was also arrested yesterday in Canada. According to toxicology results obtained by TMZ, the singer had weed and Alprazolam in his system when police pulled him over for drag racing last Thursday night. The latter is a key ingredient of Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug. Justin Bieber Arrest Footage The report also showed Justin tested negative for cocaine, opiates and meth. Meanwhile, according to the official report, officers on the scene say Bieber admitted he had been “smoking all night at the studio” when pressed. He also acted “excited, talkative, insulting [and] cocky” as the incident wore on, initially agreeing to a breathalyzer, for example, but then giving officers a hard time when they tried to administer it. The 19-year old was out of it and couldn’t follow basic instructions on how to provide this sample, legal documents add. They say “he had extreme difficulty providing a continuous breath.” The artist’s attorney has entered a plea of not guilty into the record for this Miami arrest and his client is due in court on February 14. He’s also due in court on March 10 to answer for assault charges that allege he beat up a limousine driver in the wee hours of December 29 in Toronto. Gays are taking over Disney! Disney Channel Debuts First Ever Gay Couple On Children’s Show Via Rumor Fix reports: hings are making a change in the right direction. The Disney Channel, a family friendly network known for portraying its conservative values, debuted its first-ever lesbian couple on hit show Good Luck Charlie Monday night. The show features parents, Amy and Bob Duncan, adjusting to life with their fourth child, Charlie. And during the episode, Charlie has a playdate with her friend from school, Taylor, who has two moms. At first the parents were surprised, though the same-sex couple was quickly welcomed into their home. Disney announced the decision back in June, saying the network wants to continue ”to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.” Check out the clip below. Kirk Cameron Slams Grammy Gay Marriages as "Assault on Traditional Family"

Kirk Cameron, a former child actor who has referred to homosexuality as unnatural and destructive , took to Facebook this week and slammed the Grammy Awards for featuring 33 marriage ceremonies – many of them same-sex couples – on stage Sunday night. The unusual event took place during a performance of performance of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love,” with Queen Latifah officiating the unions. The insane fight between Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute on this week’s episode of Vanderpump Rules wasn’t staged. It was as real as reality TV gets. If you missed it, Stassi accused Kristen of banging her ex-boyfriend on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spinoff and called her a “dirty f–king whore.” The then reared back and smacked Kristen in the face, doused her with a drink and continued to run her mouth as their shocked co-stars looked on … Vanderpump Rules FIGHT Not unlike Sunday’s wild Real Housewives of Atlanta fight , this was not your standard altercation staged for Bravo ratings. Kristen was beyond enraged. She went immediately to the police to get Stassi prosecuted and file a report, although the case hit a dead end when cops wanted a follow-up interview. Lisa Vanderpump , who employs both Stassi and Kristen at her restaurant, also went on record saying that the girl fight was as real as it was regrettable.
