Despite — or perhaps because of — the fact that she and her husband no longer appear on Counting On , fan interest in the life of Jill Duggar has reached an all-time high in recent months. As you may recall, Jill’s husband, Derick Dillard, got fired from the show after he launched a transphobic tirade at fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. Shortly thereafter, Jill quit Counting On as a gesture of solidarity. It may seem surprising, given that the move left the Dillards with two kids to support and no visible source of income, but it was in keeping with the deep sense of patriarchal deference the Duggar women were raised with. Yes, in the beginning, Jill and Derick followed the typical blueprint for a Duggar couple. But somewhere along the line, they lost the plot … The most obvious way in which Jill and Derick have strayed from the Duggar playbook is no that they no longer take part in the lucrative family media empire. But now that younger sister Jessa Duggar is pregnant with her third child , fans have picked up on another bit of anamolous behavior, as well. Derick and Jill have two kids, ages 1 and 3. That’s not so unusual for a young couple, but Duggar girls are taught from a young age that procreation is their primary reason for being. As a result, many are surprised by the fact that Jill is nearly 28, and her 5-year marriage has yielded only two children. The most obvious explanation is that Jill and Derick simply can’t afford to expand their family due to their lack of income. But Duggar obsessives on Reddit think there’s more to the story. Jill’s first two deliveries were C-sections, and in both cases, she was forced to abandon plans for a homebirth following excruciatingly long labors. One Reddit user with medical experience explained the situation thusly: “Just to add a bit of info to this, the major concern with subsequent cesarean deliveries is placenta accreta, meaning the placenta attaches too deeply into the uterus,” they wrote. “This is a major problem because so much blood flows through the placenta (600-700mL/minute, or about 10% of a pregnant woman’s total blood volume). “This means that an improperly managed accreta could lead to the mother bleeding to death in a matter of minutes.” Yikes. The Duggars may be throroughly committed to the idea of siring massive broods (they even consider it a religious mandate), but we’re guessing even they would draw the line at a potentially deadly delivery. Kailyn Lowry is going under the knife, again! The Teen Mom 2 star has always been pretty open with her fans on social media, and on Monday Kailyn took to Twitter to reveal that she will be getting a breast reduction surgery . “Just met with the doctor for my reduction you guys!!!” she tweeted. She explained that she wants to go down a few bra sizes, insisting her body would look slimmer and just more proportionate. Kail has already met with a plastic surgeon and is ready to do something about her 36DDD sized bra. “Honestly, I think my huge boobs make me look bigger than I am,” she wrote. “Certain clothes [don’t] lay right. I’m already a big girl and my boobs don’t help that situation.” As fans of the mother of three may remember, she has considered getting the reduction before but backed out. Back in January of 2018, she told her followers in a post: “I won’t lie to y’all, i came to Miami for lipo [and] a boob job.” “But hours before my surgery i decided i don’t want to go through with it,” she explained. It sounds like she has since had time to think over her options, deciding to go forward with the reduction after all. It is easy to understand why Brazil’s largest city of 12 million people, was once known as a commercial city catering solely to business people: because that’s exactly what it was. No longer. Over the past few decades, São Paulo began to slowly reinvent itself, making it more livable for its citizens using its natural resources, and began subtly courting tourists with its global spin on São Paulo’s distinctly Brazilian culture. It worked. São Paulo transformed itself from a flyover city into a destination in its own right. Leisure tourism is up 50% over the past 5 years thanks to São Paulo’s urban renewal that touts medical tourism, Michelin starred restaurants, bustling nightlife, and world-class museums. If you only had time to visit Avenida Paulista (Paulista Avenue), you’d get a good representation of São Paulo all on one street. Visiting on a Sunday, the Avenue is closed to cars, so you can hop on a bike down São Paulo’s most famous thoroughfare. Otherwise, take a stroll town this storied street, which depending on the time of year, plays host to the Gay Pride Parade, and the Sylvester Road Race, and on any given day it’s not unusual to spot a political protest. This commercial corridor headquarters financial institutions, and features both street and retail shopping. Spend some time in the areas buttressing the Avenue, Parque Tenente Siqueira Campos (Trianon Park) that mimics a tranquil rainforest just off the Avenue on one side and MASP, South America’s most famous fine arts museum on the other. The veggie options and the craft cocktails were quite good, making it easy to accompany your flesh eating friends to this restaurant, because this is a dining sensation for pork eaters that truly should not be missed. Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman may have to pony up a pretty penny for their alleged misdeeds. Or make that quite a few pretty pennies, according to a new lawsuit. As you have no doubt read about by now, Loughlin and Huffman are the two best known names in a college admissions bribery scandal that has produced an endless array of articles, takes, memes and schadenfreude The actress are both accused of using illegal means to get their children enrolled in college. In Huffman’s case, this supposedly translates to paying $15,000 to have her teenager’s SAT score doctored. In Loughlin’s case, this supposedly translates to paying $500,000 to have her two daughters pose for photos on rowing machines… so that they could submit applications to the University of Southern California as prospective crew members — despite not playing that sport in high school. The school then lowered its admissions standards for the girls because they were allegedly athletic recruits and… PRESTO! They were accepted as students. One of Loughlin’s daughters, a giant spoiled brat named Olivia Jade , partly used this scheme as a way to become a huge social media star. Loughlin and Huffman were just a pair of the dozens of very rich people who used their wealth and lack of a moral compass to finagle their kids’ way into universities around the country. The FBI estimates that over $25 million total was spent by these families to game the educational system. As a result, of course, Olivia Jade and all these other teens (many of whom were unaware of their parents’ despicable actions) took the place of hard-working high school students who did not cheat, lie and bribe… and therefore were NOT accepted to these same schools. And now at least one of these rejected kids, whose spot was taken by the offspring of someone arrested in this federal sting, is fight back. BIG TIME. On Wednesday, a former Oakland teacher named Jennifer Kay Toy filed a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against Huffman, Loughlin and the other individuals indicted in the scandal this week. Toy and her son, Joshua Toy, are listed as plaintiffs in the suit. A section of their lawsuit reads as follows: Joshua applied to some of the colleges where the cheating took place and did not get in. Joshua and I believed that he’d had a fair chance just like all the other applicants but did not make the cut for some undisclosed reason. I’m now outraged and hurt because I feel that my son, my only child, was denied access to a college not because he failed to work and study hard enough but because wealthy individuals felt that it was ok to lie, cheat, steal and bribe their children’s way into a good college. And here’s the kicker: Toy is seeking “no less than $500,000,000,000 in damages.” Huffman and Loughlin were both arrested this week and both have been released on bail. According to the FBI affidavit, Loughlin and her husband “agreed to a pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team—despite the fact that they did not participate in crew—thereby facilitating their admission to USC.” Huffman and her “spouse,” William H. Macy, made a purported charitable contribution of $15,000 to participate in the scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter. She “later made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so,” the document reads. It seems pretty evident that Toy knows all the people ensconced in this scandal are rich and she’s angling for a major settlement. To which we basically say: Go for it! Milk these entitled people for all they are worth.

A Black business owner from Atlanta is aiming to help individuals combat poverty through entrepreneurship. Velma Trayham , the creator and CEO of the marketing agency ThinkZILLA PR & Consulting Group, has launched a new small business program to help those faced with financial setbacks start their own ventures, Black News reported. Trayham was inspired to create the Pioneer program after witnessing the impact of the recent government shutdown, the news outlet writes. After seeing people struggle to make ends meet, she was inspired to empower them and show them ways in which they can have control over their financial future by becoming entrepreneurs. Through the intensive program, participants will learn how to create everything from business models to marketing plans and other lessons needed to successfully grow a business. For Trayham it’s all about breaking the cycle of poverty. “Entrepreneurs can change the way they live and work – and inspire others to do the same. Innovations created by small businesses can improve the quality of life, creating personal success as well as create communities that are more prosperous,” she said in a statement. “When people find success doing something they love and believe in, they have the power and capacity to help others do the same. I appreciate the mentors who helped me early in my career and am dedicated to helping others find their passion in business, reduce the causes of poverty, and creating a chain effect of business support and success.” The program kicks off in Atlanta on March 30 and she plans on taking it to cities that include Washington, D.C., Houston, and Orlando. There has been an effort to support Black entrepreneurs. MVMT50 and The New Voices fund recently teamed up to host a pitch competition dubbed PITCH BLACK as an avenue to address the obstacles that Black women face when stepping into entrepreneurship, including the lack of access to capital. C onversations surrounding mental health in the Black community are often considered taboo, but a yoga instructor from Baltimore is aiming to change that narrative. Changa Bell , the creator of the Black Male Yoga Initiative, is helping Black men heal from trauma through yoga, ABC News reported. Heavy smoking and drinking led Bell to have a serious heart condition which could have required him to wear a pacemaker. That’s when he knew that it was time to change his lifestyle for the better and started to practice yoga. Bell realized that there weren’t enough safe spaces for Black men to practice wellness and that’s when his yoga journey became bigger than himself. “Black men in particular were being isolated by the yoga community. We’re marketed as over-sexualized, hyper-violent, hyper-masculine,” said Bell. “I wanted to make a huge welcome sign that said, ‘You’re welcome here and come and heal.’” The Black Male Yoga Initiative has proven to be impactful. Many of the men who attend Bell’s sessions say that they have been life-changing. “Trauma is deeply intertwined in our existence. We get to express it here,” said one of the members. “Yoga brings balance. It puts everything I’ve ever went through into perspective.” There are several individuals who have been working towards creating safe spaces for Black wellness. Last year, public health advocate Kevin Dedner launched a digital platform dubbed Henry Health as an avenue to empower Black men to take charge of their mental health.
