MBJ is making some shocking claims in court documents about her pivotal role that landed her two Oscar noms. According to The Blast Mary J. Blige is alleging ahead of her upcoming divorce trial that she doesn’t owe Kendu Isaacs any spousal support because he’s to blame for her financial downfall. MBJ says her expenses are so bad that she actually didn’t make a single dime from “Mudbound” because all of it went to bills. Those bills include $25 million in advances and $12 million in debt that was acquired during her marriage. She’s also telling a judge that she’s been doing TV and film projects solely for her image because they’re not actually profitable for her. As previously reported Kendu asked a judge to make MBJ give him $65K a month because her “divorce songs” ruined his rep and left him unable to work. It’s been quite an interesting few months in the life of Derick Dillard. It all started, of course, when Derick got fired by TLC after harassing transgender teen and fellow network star Jazz Jennings in a bizarre Twitter tirade. Derick issued an explanation for his remarks that he probably thinks qualifies as an apology, but fans weren’t buying it, and most seemed happy to see him go. Earlier this week, Derick doubled down on his homophobia by promoting a speaking engagement by a pastor who became famous for his support of the abhorrent practice of conversion therapy. It briefly seemed that Derick had taken an “in for a penny, in for a pound” approach to his own bigotry and decided that since he’d already been fired from TLC, the time was right to rebrand himself as a far-right firebrand. Today, however, something interesting occurred on Derick’s Twitter page. “I want to personally invite any LGBTQ person & anyone else who would like to come with my family and me to church next Sunday. See you there!” Derick tweeted. These days, it seems that Derick is supporting his family almost entirely through monetary donations from fans , so many were suspicious that the tweet was simply a publicity stunt or part of an effort to rebuild his image. But some expressed an interest in taking him up on the invitation. One woman identified herself as an atheist and asked if it was okay for her to attend services with Derick and his family. The former reality star astonished many Duggar fans when he responded, “Absolutely!” Some expressed outright shock that Derick would invite someone whose beliefs are so different from his own into his house of worship. The mini-controversy comes on the heels of reports that Derick’s wife, Jill Duggar, had turned her back on her beliefs due to an Instagram post in which she revealed that she’s reading a book with sections addressed to those who are questioning their faith in God. In the end, however, it turned out there was really nothing to either scandal. Jill was simply offering support to those whose belief had wavered, while Derick is apparently hoping to convert some non-believers, which is actually one of the expressed duties of Independent Baptists. Stock Image by Getty Snow Tickets In South Chicago Hoods Are Staggering In Comparison To Wealthier Areas Data says the Chicago Police are issuing disproportionate amounts of snow tickets in the Black neighborhood of Englewood where a fist full of complaints to 311 are usual made about snowy sidewalks. In Northern, wealthier neighborhoods in city, where hundreds more complaints are being made, they are seeing fewer tickets. How is that even so?? According to WBEZ Chicago PD is abusing something called the “2 inch rule” in neighborhoods like Englewood. This rule says that if it snows over 2 inches, you can’t stay parked on a main street. But, according to a Chicago Police Department directive , cops aren’t supposed to issue “2-inch rule” tickets unless city officials declare weather severe enough for “phase two” of the official snow plan to kick in. These cops are just giving tickets without official word of SEVERE weather and poor folks are eating it. Other findings show that these poorer ‘hoods get more tikets for failure to shovel sidewalks. The CPD have yet to comment of the unequivocal amounts of snow tickets being issued around the city.
Scott Disick and Sofia Richie have been dating for so long that Sofia’s had multiple hair colors during their relationship. These days, she’s a brunette. But Wednesday was the couple’s first ever Valentine’s Day together. And they didn’t let the holiday pass without marking the occasion. For starters, Sofia Richie shared this black-and-white throwback photo. Even without color, you can tell that Sofia was blonde at the time that it was taken. This particular throwback was taken during Scott and Sofia’s sexy Italian vacation. Which was, for those of you keeping track, after their big debut on their sexy vacation to Mexico . Sofia Richie had more to share. In her story, Sofia gave fans and followers a glimpse of what appears to be a small army of bright red roses that Scott had given her. In this past episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians , the storyline finally reached the point where Scott Disick is dating Sofia Richie . Obviously, the episode was filmed months and months before airing. In it, Scott revealed that he was keeping the relationship on the down-low out of respect for Kourtney. Perhaps he was trying to atone for how humiliated she must have felt while he drank and boinked his way around all summer in 2017, running through 19-year-old model after 19-year-old model until he finally settled on Sofia. If he really cared about Kourtney’s feelings, maybe he would have resisted his self-destructive impulses and not But that’s in the past, and Scott seems to be much healthier these days. At least, when compared to how he was over the summer when friends were reportedly concerned that he might drink himself to death. Literally. And it was thoughtful of him, if definitely too late, to be so concerned about Kourtney’s feelings. We have to wonder how Scott Disick feels about Lionel Richie being scared to death that young Sofia Richie is dating the much older womanizer. Maybe Scott has found a way to smooth things out, or maybe Sofia managed to assuage her father’s worries. It’s been months. There’s no telling how long Scott’s relationship with Sofia will last. It could be that they’ll wake up one day and the honeymoon phase will be over and Sofia either find an age-appropriate hot model or a new older millionaire to spoil her and Scott will find a new woman who’s young enough to think that he’s cool and mature. But you know what? Kourtney’s relationship with Younes Bendjima no longer looks like a “boy toy” situation, and he’s a younger, hot model, too. We don’t know what kind of bitter troll feels a need to leave nasty comments that compare the beauty of sisters, but one Instagram user did just that. Their rude post compared Christie Brinkley’s oldest daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, to her 19-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook. The troll used the opportunity to bash Alexa’s looks. Alexa, unafraid to clap back at haters, gave a response so strong that the troll deleted his comment and ran for the hills. Metaphorically speaking. Christie Brinkley and her daughters are sizzling hot . That shouldn’t really be up for debate. It’s barely subjective. Nonetheless, some guy out there thinks that Alexa Ray Joel, (Christie’s daughter with Billy Joel), is unattractive. At this point, you must be worried that this person has some sort of visual impairment. We wondered the same thing. But no, this person was able to appreciate the gorgeous looks of Alexa’s younger sister, Sailor Brinkley Cook. And he said as much after proud, gorgeous mom Christie Brinkley shared a behind-the-scenes look at Sailor’s photoshoot. She’s stunning, right? We can understand the natural human instinct to rank things. (I love making lists, even if it’s hard to choose a favorite movie, a favorite video game, a favorite Brinkley daughter) What we can’t understand is why someone would use this as an opportunity to bash Alexa. Specifically, why anyone would feel the need to straight-up post their negativity. Maybe some people just feel powerful if they hurt a famous person’s feelings. Some dude decided to describe Alexa as “hideous” in a now-deleted comment. Alexa’s epic clapback, however, is still standing. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Mr. Big Shot.” Them’s fightin’ words, as they say. “You may think I’m hideous, but I like the way I look.” To be clear, most people like the way that Alexa looks. Then her retort continues: “And that’s really all the matters.” She’s right — her own self-image matters more than what others think. “(Besides, there’s a lot more to people than just what they look like.)” And then, well, Alexa tells it like it is. “But hey, continue being a shallow, hateful troll in life and see where it gets you!” Quite frankly, this dude shouldn’t be surprised that she saw it and replied. First of all, he probably wouldn’t have posted something so obviously inflammatory (and hyperbolic — he called her hideous ?!) if he didn’t want to get a rise out of someone. Out of either Alexa herself or another fan. Second of all, Alexa is not shy about discourse in Instagram comments. Seriously, and you can look at her page for yourself, she’ll talk politics with absolutely anyone. For the record, she mostly hopes for conciliatory politicians to make decisions for everyone. She talks about wanting things like Wall Street held accountable when they do wrong but also valuing prosperity. So her views definitely aren’t extreme. Trolling is all good and well until you meet someone who won’t back down and whose fans will absolutely tear you to shreds. And, again — though it’s not really the point of this whole thing — Alexa Ray Joel is absolutely gorgeous.
