Lo knows you had strong opinions about her shaking her Sazon seasoned cakes during a tribute to Motown Records and she issued a response. Right after (like seriously, as soon as) she performed during last night’s Grammys, Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier stopped her to ask how she felt. He also asked her to respond to critics who think she wasn’t qualified to hit the stage to pay homage to Berry Gordy’s Detroit record label. According to Jenny from the Block, she was “humbled and honored” to sing alongside Smokey Robinson. She also shut down critics with this; “Any type of music can inspire any type of artist… You can’t tell people what to love. There’s more political strife in Virginia in the midst of the Virginia Governor blackface scandal. As previously reported Democratic Governor Ralph Northam (above) was outed by a right-wing website who published a photo from Northam’s medical school yearbook that shows him in blackface and standing next to a man in a KKK outfit. He at first admitted that it was him in the photo but then recanted . There are now feverish calls for him to step down, calls that he’s casually ignoring. Now the third in line to be Governor if Northam steps down is confessing that he too has worn blackface. Attorney General Mark Herring admitted Wednesday that he wore blackface to dress up like a rapper at an 80s college party. But because of our ignorance and glib attitudes – and because we did not have an appreciation for the experiences and perspectives of others – we dressed up and put on wigs and brown makeup, Herring said. “This was a onetime occurrence and I accept full responsibility for my conduct.” Just four days ago Herring criticized Governor Northham and said “it is no longer possible” for him to remain in office. If you couldn’t believe that things would get much worse, hold onto your wigs. Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax, also a Democrat, has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. Fairfax is second in line to be Governor. Fairfax has denied her accusation and said what happened between them was “consensual.” If all three of the Democrats resign, the next Virginia Governor will be Republican Kirk Cox. Cox is the current state’s speaker of the House of Delegates. All top VA officials wore blackface except for the one with a black face who has been accused of sexual assault. Sam Lloyd, a veteran actor best known for playing the character of Ted throughout the entire run of Scrubs, has received devastating news. He’s been diagnosed with a severe type of cancer. Lloyd most recently appeared on an episode of Happy Together. His small screen resume also includes stints on Shameless, Cougar Town, The Middle and Desperate Housewives. According to a newly-created GoFundMe campaign page, doctors diagnosed the 55-year old with inoperable cancer in January after discovering a brain tumor that had metastasized from his lungs. The news came mere weeks after Lloyd and his wife, Vanessa, welcomed their first child. Lloyd reportedly went to see a physician just under a month ago after having experienced weight loss and headaches. Upon their examination, doctors discovered the tumor, which has spread to Lloyd’s liver, spine and jaw. The aforementioned GoFundMe campaign was launched by Scrubs producer Tom Hobert and his wife. Other members of the Scrubs cast and crew – including creator Bill Lawrence and stars Zach Braff and Kate Micucci – have used social media to promote the traguc cause, to their support for Lloyd and to encourage others to donate. “This is Sam. He was Ted on SCRUBS. He’s a pal. Just had his first baby. Get involved if you can. I am,” wrote Lawrence as a caption to his Tweet, which included a link to the GoFundMe page. You can donate HERE if you wish. By all accounts, 2019 was off to a roaring start for our dear friend, Sam Lloyd,” reads the opening of the message on this GoFundMe account. It continues: “He and his wife, Vanessa, had recently welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby boy named Weston to the world. “The musical that Sam had been working on for over a decade had just been accepted into a prestigious theatre accelerator program. There was so much to be grateful for…” The page then shared the following precious photo of Lloyd, his wife and his son — prior to going into detail about the awful development. This is how the page concludes: In the face of this devastating news, Sam and Vanessa have been incredibly strong and positive. Humor and laughter, which have been a huge part of Sam’s life, will undoubtedly help him with what lies ahead. Just hours after being diagnosed, Sam was cheering on his beloved New England Patriots in his hospital room. When the nurse asked him to “cheer quieter,” Sam politely nodded. When the nurse left the room, Sam turned to Vanessa and his friends and said, “What are they gonna do? Kill me?” Sam is, simply put, a sweet, kind, and generous soul. Through his music and acting, and most of all his friendship, he has blessed all of our lives immeasurably. Throughout his wonderful life, including his more than 30 years in Los Angeles, Sam has perfected the fine art of friendship. So many of those friends have reached out, wanting to know how they can help support him and his family during this difficult time. As Sam and Vanessa face the challenges ahead, they will both have to put working on hold. There will be a range of medical, childcare, and other expenses. We’re all hyped for the newly revealed Alaskan Bush People premiere date , but we don’t have to wait that long for an update. Matt Brown is giving fans updates on social media. And a new report tells us even more about his journey back to sobriety. “Sometimes, all you need is the sea,” Matt Brown captioned a pair of images of himself at the beach. “So beautiful,” he remarked, adding a smiley-face emoticon. Matt Brown has gone through some troubles recently. But, with support from his family, he came out the other side of his 30-day stint in rehab feeling healthier. Now, he has the help of group therapy and a sober coach to keep him on the straight and narrow. Images like these, shared to Instagram, really help to reassure fans that he is doing so much better. Sometimes, however, fans would like more than just some happy photos and to take someone’s word for it. RadarOnline reports on the context of these pics and on how Matt is doing. “Matt went to LA last week because his mother, Ami, was getting her cancer check-up,” the insider shared. Ami overcame considerable odds to beat lung cancer, but regular cancer screenings are now part of her life. The source notes that these are screenings “which she now has to get every three months.” As fans may recall, the Browns own a Beverly Hills mansion where Ami resides when undergoing treatments at the hospital. Ami is not the only member of the Brown family whose health is in question. “Matt is in an outpatient rehab,” the insider says to RadarOnline . That means that he continues to attend therapy for his excessive drinking, but gets to sleep in his own bed. “And,” the source says, Matt is “working with a sober coach again.” It’s wonderful that his family has the resources to help him. Matt is doing his part to let fans know how he’s doing. “He is posting a lot of photos of himself online,” the insider points out. The beach pics are only one recent example. He also likes to photograph birds and insects. “And,” the source notes, Matt has “even started a youtube channel.” YouTube can be a monetization tool, but it can also work wonders for connecting with fans and creative expression. The insider explains that Matt is doing all of this “because he wants to keep his fans updated on his progress” This is great news for two big reasons. First of all, that means that less of a burden falls on Rain’s narrow shoulders. Rain just turned 16 last year, but has been her family’s de facto spokesperson on social media since she was 14. Second of all, regular posts that fans can see can help Matt remain accountable to them and ultimately to himself. Of course, as is sometimes the case, Matt’s decision to recover his sobriety came after some strong encouragement from his loved ones. He had unfortunately had a tense argument with his family and stormed off to live in the desert outside of Palm Springs last year. “Basically, Billy’s threats to cut him off woke him up,” the source says of what drove Matt to seek treatment. According to the insider: “Matt knows that if he messes up again, he will lose it all” “And he also knows that no one really trusts him anymore,” the source adds. Matt does not want to repeat past mistakes. “But he is trying to do things differently this time around,” the insider shares. He fell off the wagon once before. This time, he turned to drinking during the most frightening moments of his mother’s cancer battle. (As is almost always the case, abusing alcohol is a coping mechanism) “And” the source explains. “He wants to show his parents that he can stay clean on his own.” “Matt has reconnected with everyone,” the insider says. So after he emerged from rehab, he set about repairing any damaged or strained relationships brought on by his drinking. “And of course,” the source says. “His siblings are supportive.” The insider concludes: “they just cannot wait to see him back home again.” And neither can fans and viewers. Source: Scott Dudelson / Getty Jussie Smollett has returned to Chicago after a weekend in Los Angeles and in the wake of the alleged vicious attack he suffered. The Empire actor is back in town to complete shooting for the series, and police still have questions for him regarding the assault. TMZ reports : A production source tells us Smollett flew back into the Windy City Sunday, after his weekend show in Los Angeles. We’re told Smollett shot scenes for one of the final episodes of the season Monday and did a table read with the cast Tuesday … security was present the entire time. Law enforcement sources tell us cops want to speak with Jussie while he’s in town as part of their ongoing investigation. As for where he’s staying while in town … a source close to Jussie tells us he’s back at the same apartment complex where he was living at the time of the attack. The outlet adds in its report that Chicago authorities have more video footage of the area where the attack allegedly happened according to sources but has not yet released the images to the public. — Photo: Getty

The 17-year-old Florida teen who was gunned down in 2012 would’ve been 24-years-old today if his life wasn’t tragically cut short. His mother Sybrina Fulton recently spoke at Oregon State University and spoke on the need for unity. Sybrina who helms the Trayvon Martin foundation told students “we need to learn how to all get along together.” “The time is always right to do the right thing,” said Sybrina. “My disappointment, my sadness, my hurt, my pain, I put all of that in my foundation.” Trayvon’s being remembered today by several celebrities including Ava Duvernay who’s using his passing as a teachable moment about white privilege.
