Jesus Take The Wheel: Abandoned Toddler Who Was Left On Stranger’s Doorstep With Note Reading “Call DFAC” Parents Arrested

Poor baby … Authorities in South Carolina have identified the toddler who was found abandoned on a stranger’s doorstep with a note on her diaper that read “Call DFAC” or Division of Family and Child Services, and arrested her parents. After four days of investigating, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said that the child is 4-year-old Zoe Brown of Marietta, Ga. Brown’s parents — 31-year-old Alonzo Brown and 37-year-old Tongela Denise McBride — were arrested Friday night on charges of unlawful neglect of a child. Chad McBride, the public information office for the Anderson County Sherriff’s Office, said that having the girl’s story shared through social media and the news media helped lead to the discovery of the toddler’s identify and the arrest of her parents. According to Chad McBride, who is not related to Denise McBride, posts on the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page featuring Zoe Brown’s picture were shared more than 2 million times. “Just putting the story out there and all over the country, it was the media that led to the individuals that called us,” McBride said. “For a couple days we didn’t have anything.” Zoe Brown was found on a resident’s doorstep late Tuesday night in her stroller wearing a shirt adorned with the phrase “Auntie Loves Me.” Roy Campbell, the home’s owner, told the Independent Mail newspaper of Anderson that he found Zoe Brown after he heard the doorbell ring, but didn’t see anyone at the door. “I heard the neighbor’s dogs barking so I went around the back of the house to see if they might have gone there,” Campbell told the Independent Mail. “When I didn’t see anyone, I went back to the front door and noticed that there was a baby in the stroller.” After Campbell found the girl, the police were immediately called and she was taken to a local hospital where doctors determined she was in good health, authorities said. Although she is 4 years old, Zoe Brown wears clothes made for a 24-month-old and has scars on her chest and neck that are consistent with past heart surgery, McBride said. The girl is currently in a foster home under the care of the South Carolina Department of Social Services. McBride said she will remain there until the DSS can determine whether there is a family member who can provide her with a safe environment. We hope they find a home and a family who can love little Zoe unconditionally like she deserves. Clearly, her ain’t isht parents are not worthy.

Jennifer Lawrence Bikini Photos: THG Hot Bodies Countdown #6!

THG is counting down the 100 Hottest Bikini Bodies of 2012! If you haven’t figured it out by now, we’ve been paying tribute to the hottest of the hot with bikini photos galore, and the competition is flat out sweltering. Keeping the heat rising in the #6 spot: Jennifer Lawrence! Most recently, Bar Refaeli bikini photos deservedly made THG’s hot list. Now, it’s one of the hottest actresses around – in more ways than one. What’s most amazing about Jennifer Lawrence – besides her considerable and surprisingly versatile acting talents – is that she’s almost under the radar. She started out her career by playing lead roles in TBS’s The Bill Engvall Show and in the independent films The Burning Plain and Winter’s Bone . Lawrence was also in X-Men: First Class, but is best known as Katniss in The Hunger Games , and most recently for her work in Silver Linings Playbook . You almost wouldn’t know how flat-out gorgeous she is. Whereas we see Rihanna nude photos just about every day, Jennifer is the opposite of an fame-seeking exhibitionist … even if she could pull it off. Once in awhile, she’ll do a photo shoot like the ones seen below, but aside from that, the 22-year-old is actually reserved and a semi-private person. Sometimes, less really is more. Unless we’re talking about the images seen here, in which case more is also more. As long as it’s not overkill. You get the idea. Now try not to drool into your computer too much. Click to enlarge a ton more hot Jennifer Lawrence photos below! Who’s next? Check back to see THG bikini babe #5!

She was a young secretary when she met T.S. Eliot but felt she knew him already as a long-time fan of his work. Selena Gomez Rides A ‘Getaway’

It appears that Selena Gomez is dipping into another Mickey-less role, solidifying her catapult into adulthood. Gomez is starring with Ethan Hawke in a film titled Getaway . A photo hit the internet today with the hoodied (with baseball cap) former child-star in the front seat of a vehicle with Hawke in the pic. Also starring Jon Voight (that’s an interesting one!), Paul Freeman and Bruce Payne, the film is an Action-Crime feature that is set for release next August. OnTheFlix said it is “about a retired race car driver who tries to track down his kidnapped wife with the help of a younger female computer hacker.” Gomez mentioned that she’s filming the pic in Bulgaria. Speaking about another film she recently completed, Spring Breakers , at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Gomez said she is eager to move on to more mature roles. When my series ended, I was invited to do a couple of films,” said the former Wizards of Waverly Place star in Toronto . “I thought the independent film route would be best for me…The biggest challenge is that I have a younger generation of fans who follow my music, shows and clothing line.” Continuing about her fans she added: “Everything I do is for them and this may not be so accessible to them. But the other side is that people put you in a box and it is a challenge for me because some may not take me seriously because of the brand I have – that I’m fortunate to have – but it’s also about doing things that I just want to do for me.” Starring James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens, that Harmony Korine-directed Spring Breakers revolves around several college girls who get arrested after robbing a restaurant in order to fund their spring break vacation. But, they’re bailed out by a drug and arms dealer who wants them to do some dirty work. [ Sources: The Playlist , OntheFlix ]

American Film Market Sets Conference Topics

Topics ranging from film finance, pitching, marketing, video on demand and micro-budget filmmaking are set for the American Film Market, taking place October 31 – November 7 in Santa Monica. AFM attendees from over 70 countries will take part in the AFM Conference Series, which takes place 9:15 – 12:45 daily from November 2 – 6. The AFM Conference Series launched in 2011 and sold out in its first year with more than 700 attendees at each event. “AFM is attended by industry leaders from more than 70 countries so the AFM Conference Series has a tremendous pool of experts and innovators to draw from.” said Jonathan Wolf, executive vice president of the Independent Film & Television Alliance and managing director of the AFM. “This makes the AFM Conference Series unique and invaluable.” Details on the events follow: The 2012 AFM Conference Series follows with information provided by AFM : Finance Conference, Friday, November 2 Leading CEOs, filmmakers, financiers and studio executives converge to explore the state of independent film financing, emerging trends, where the money is, new opportunities and incentives, and what the future holds. Pitch Conference, Saturday, November 3 A good pitch can get a bad film made and a bad pitch can leave a terrific project languishing on the shelf. Pitching is part art (it’s creative), part science (needs to follow a tight script) and part salesmanship.  Conference attendees will first learn the essential rules and tools of pitching from the experts. Then, volunteers from the audience (you?) will pitch a panel of Hollywood decision makers. They will give unvarnished feedback on each pitch – saying what worked, what didn’t, and why. Warning: This session is not for the weak. Marketing Conference, Sunday, November 4 Connecting with and engaging the audience in authentic, creative ways is critical.  Word-of-mouth and friend recommendations can make or break the box office results.  The gurus behind the most successful and innovative new media marketing campaigns discuss reinventing the marketing wheel, explore how the consumer can be the most effective marketing tool and reveal how to win over the broadest possible audience. Video-On-Demand Conference, Monday, November 5 Video-On-Demand is a growing revenue stream for filmmakers and content providers.  Like the excitement of a gold rush, many hope for a future when all films are available worldwide and every film finds an audience.  Producers, distributors and platforms will come together to disclose who is making money, how they are doing it and what the future holds – separating fact from fiction. Micro-Budget Conference, Tuesday, November 6 New and unconventional financing, marketing and distribution resources are proving very successful for Micro-Budget films.  Producers and distributors will reveal how to find the money, making the most of budgets, what distributors are looking for, reaching your audience and how these new tools are redefining the film business.  The 2012 AFM Conference Series will be held at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel (101 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica).  For additional information, visit their website .
