Britney Spears Accepts Video Vanguard VMA — And A Kiss From Lady Gaga

Gaga’s Jo Calderone alter ego introduced a dance tribute to Brit’s best videos. By John Mitchell Britney Spears and Lady Gaga on stage at the 2011 VMAs Photo: MTV It’s only fitting for one princess of pop to fete another. And that’s what happened when Lady Gaga stepped out on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards to pay tribute to Britney Spears with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Well, kind of. Gaga took the stage to honor Spears still in character as her male alter ego Jo Calderone, which she’d taken on for her show-opening performance earlier in the night. And that made things pretty interesting. Calderone opened by calling Spears an inspiration, saying, “She taught us all how to be fearless, and the industry wouldn’t be the same without her.” Calderone then went on to get a little personal about Spears. He told the audience he used to put up posters of the pop star on his bedroom wall and be inspired in non-musical ways. It was a weird moment, but Calderone is a young guy of the right generation — a generation that would indeed have posters of Britney Spears on his/her wall. There’s a reason, after all, she was being awarded the Vanguard Award. The tribute then turned into exactly what any great tribute to this particular diva should be: a dance party. Spears is known as one of the biggest dance pop artists of her generation, and accordingly, dancers wearing Britney’s most famous video looks took the stage to get down to her biggest hits, from “Baby One More Time” and “Crazy” to “Toxic” and “Do Somethin’.” By the time the sequence dissolved into a full-stage dance-off to Spears’ recent smash “Till The World Ends,” children also wearing Spears’ myriad costumes popped up on stage alongside their grown-up dancing counterparts. It was a fitting way to show the impact Spears’ music has had. From kids to adults, everyone knows and loves Britney. As the performance ended, Gaga-as-Calderone again grabbed the spotlight to introduce the pop star and did so with the kind of bravado that carried him through his monologue earlier in the show. “Everybody, stand the f— up,” Calderone demanded. Looking better than ever and glowing from all the praise, Spears then took the stage. Calderone certainly liked what he saw, eying the singer before stepping forward for a semi-awkward stare-down. But Gaga, er, Calderone eventually got what he wanted: a quick kiss from the one and only Britney Spears. He wanted more, however, but alas, it just wasn’t going to happen. Being a classy guy, Calderone brushed off Britney’s dismissal of his advances with a cool, “I don’t want Gaga to get pissed.” Spears seemed thankful for the prize but used her time to shine the spotlight on another artist: Beyonc

Lil Wayne On Jay-Z Diss: “I Know There Won’t Be Any Repercussions…”

The rest is here:

First Lil Wayne threatened to kidnap Jay-Z’s b*tch , then he went on record saying “I know there won’t be any repercussions behind what I did.” How confident can one man be? Very, if you consider that when Weezy reemerged onto the rap scene, dreads longer and lyrical content stronger, he claimed he was the best rapper alive. The recent shot at Hov comes after Jay took a shot at Baby, Wayne’s bestie on “H.A.M.” Here’s the line in case you don’t remember: “ I’m like really half a billi ni**a, really you got baby money /Keep it real with ni**as, ni**as ain’t got my lady money.” Parts of Weezy’s album leaked yesterday where rap connoisseurs stumbled upon a line on “It’s Good” featuring Jadakiss and Drake which states: “Talkin’ bout Baby money, I got your Baby money. Kidnap your b*tch, keep that, how much you love your lady money?, I know you fake ni**a, press your brakes ni**a, I’ll take you out, that’s a date, ni**a.” Whether you are #TeamJay or #TeamWeezy you have to admit this has the potential to get really good! “I know for a fact music is about perception,” Wayne explained. “You can’t do anything but perceive what you hear. I know that for a fact. So I can’t ever be upset about someone’s reaction. I’m not going to say I don’t know what would happen before I even say [something on record]. I do know what will happen. I’m aware of it. But it is what it is.” RELATED: Lil Wayne Disses Jay-Z On “It’s Good” Ft. By Kara Warner Big Sean Photo: MTV News Rising star and Best New Artist VMA nominee Big Sean might be riding high these days, but in the new episode of “When I Was 17,” airing Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV, the G.O.O.D. Music MC reveals a not-so-starry moment from his teens. “When I was 17, I got a brand-new 2005 Chevy Impala. I was one of the only people with a new car so I was definitely enjoying it, having fun,” Sean recalled. “One day outside my house, you know sometimes when you’re blocked in, you have to move cars out the driveway and move them back in? I was just trying to hurry up and do it, so I left my car running, hopped out my and car hopped into another car to pull it into the driveway,” he explained. “Within that 20 to 30 seconds, somebody hopped in my car and drove off. I’m like ‘Mom! Mom! Mom! Somebody stole my car!’ I was thinking, ‘Damn, I f—-d up.’ ” The Detroit native said that he and his mother called the police, but due to the number of carjackings in the area, their request wasn’t considered a high priority. “I had a tracking device on my car,” Sean said. “And we still couldn’t find my car.” One 2005 Chevy Impala aside, the “Finally Famous” lyricist hasn’t experienced the loss of any other prized possessions. For now he is focused on his music, and his first-ever VMA nomination. “Man, I was hype as hell,” Sean told MTV News upon learning of his nomination for Best New Artist . “I called my mom at like midnight. I was in Charlotte [North Carolina] the night when I found out, and I called my mom and I woke her up,” he revealed. “I’m excited. Danny Brown Admits Drug Habit, Failed G-Unit Deal

’50 was with it; he just didn’t sign me because of my jeans,’ Detroit MC tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman Danny Brown Photo: MTV News Jay-Z once rapped that 30 is the new 20, but Danny Brown is at ease with his age — so much so that the Detroit MC dedicated his latest mixtape, XXX, to the big 3-0. At this point, Brown is comfortable as an individual, and that in itself is a double-edged sword. It is DB’s individuality that has earned him a cult following of fans, which he dubs the Bruisers, and it is that same sense of self that cost the rapper a deal with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records. “I just turned 30. I been writing raps all my life, but I remember the time when I was, like, 14, 15; I was like, ‘Imagine what I’m gonna be like when I’m 20. Yo, imagine what I’m gonna be like when I’m 30,’ ” Brown told Mixtape Daily. “Now I’m finally 30.” The mixtape, which many have dubbed “Triple X,” isn’t a nod to pornography, but rather a play on the Roman numeral for 30. It’s an important time for the rapper, who recently signed to indie label Fool’s Gold. He is finally seeing his rap dreams come true, but with that realization also came drug addiction. “Most of the stuff that I talk about is stuff that I’ve done in the past. But where is my life at right now, at 30?” Brown rhetorically asked. “At 30, my life is: I’ve been trying to get in this industry for over 10 years, and through me trying to get into that industry, I can say I developed a drug habit.” Brown admits to smoking marijuana, but then again, so do most rappers. Adderall, however, is not a hip-hop drug of choice. The stimulant is used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy, and for Brown, it helps him record and live his rock-star lifestyle. He even raps about the drug on “Adderall Admiral,” a track from XXX. “Eatin’ on an Adderall, wash it down with alcohol/ Writin’ holy mackerel actual or factual,” he raps before embarking on his patented free-associative rhyme patterns over a herky-jerky beat. “I got to the point that I was just taking Adderall to work on music, then it got to the point where I wanted to take Adderall to stay up late and party,” Brown said. “So now, from me trying Adderall, I’ve tried other drugs too.” On XXX, DB remains an open book. He contemplates his fate on “Die Like a Rockstar,” shouting the names of deceased celebrities like River Phoenix, Brittany Murphy and Heath Ledger. “Pac Blood” finds Brown rapping over a sample of Bob James’ classic “Nautilus,” and on “Lie4,” he bucks standard rap fare by freely admitting his financial woes. Danny Brown is certainly one of rap’s most unique figures in recent memory, which can also be a disadvantage. In 2010, Brown befriended G-Unit rapper Tony Yayo, and together they recorded their collaborative Hawaiian Snow mixtape . The G-Unit association led many to wonder if Brown would eventually sign with 50’s crew . But Brown, who favors fitted jeans and a vintage rock-inspired wardrobe, didn’t fit the part of G-Unit soldier. “It was a real thing. 50 was with it; he just didn’t sign me because of my jeans. He liked the music, but he didn’t like the way I looked,” Danny said. “I understand where they were coming from with that, but you gotta understand where I’m coming from too: I’m from Detroit.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Corey Feldman Says Pedophilia "#1 Problem" in Hollywood, Contributed to Corey Haim’s Death

According to Corey Feldman, former child star and best friend of the late Corey Haim, child molestation has run rampant in the entertainment industry. “The No. 1 problem in Hollywood was and is and always will be pedophilia,” he said Wednesday, adding that the “casting couch” exists for children, too. He and Haim were no exceptions to that disturbing trend, Feldman says. Two Coreys: Feldman, left, and the late Haim . Feldman asserted in an interview that directors and other adults in the industry take advantage of young aspiring actors on a regular basis. “It’s all done under the radar… But it’s the big secret,” he said . Feldman also claimed that former co-star Corey Haim’s death last year was the end result of early sexual abuse by an unnamed “Hollywood mogul.” The 40-year-old said that his friend’s long-running battle with substance abuse and addiction was “a symptom” of the molestation he experienced. The actor has said that he was raped by his assistant as a child. “It’s something that will be addressed in my inner soul for the rest of my life, and it’s something that truly affects me,” he told GQ magazine.

The majority of the album was produced by Lex Luger and Southside, both of whom contributed largely to Waka’s first album, Flockaveli, in 2010. As far as guest appearances go, the Ferrari Boyz didn’t call on any of their past big-name collaborators like Rick Ross, Diddy or Usher. Rihanna Focused On Career, Not Men

‘It can definitely be intimidating to guys to date someone in this industry,’ singer tells Cosmopolitan U.K. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna Photo: Shareif Ziyadat/ FilmMagic Rihanna is like an open book when it comes to her views on the opposite sex. In the new issue of Cosmopolitan U.K., the pop star says that these days she’s all about the chase, mostly because she doesn’t have time for much else. “I’m open to love. But guys should have to earn it. Because the minute they get it, they want something else,” Rihanna said . “Men are like hunters: they like the chase. So you have to keep ’em guessing. Actually, I’m like that too. I get bored quickly. So if someone can make me laugh, that’s the best.” Currently on a summer tour, Rihanna says that most guys have a hard time wrapping their head around the fact that she’s a very busy person with a very bustling career. ” It can definitely be intimidating to guys to date someone in this industry,” she said. “It’s really hard to find a guy who doesn’t care about that stuff. Right now, it’s easier just having my career to focus on.” After a string of high-profile relationships with Chris Brown, Matt Kemp and maybe even Drake , the singer is currently single. Rihanna’s relationship with Brown left her in a very vulnerable place after an assault in early 2009. “It was a very aggressive and defensive time, and that allowed me to start not giving a sh–. I walked around with a very f— you attitude,” Rihanna said in the issue. “I’ve always been good at masking my emotions. For me, it’s tougher to be vulnerable than to be tough.” Related Artists Rihanna
