Olbermann Backs Down From ‘Over the Top’ O’Reilly Parental Abuse Attack

Let it never again be said that no line of attack is too low for Keith Olbermann. On Tuesday, the MSNBC libtalker distanced himself from comments made the week prior about Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. Olbermann attributed O’Reilly’s condemnation of comments about motherhood by actress Jennifer Aniston to the abuse O’Reilly supposedly took as a child. OIbermann didn’t actually say what he was backing away from, but until Tuesday it seemed that almost no line of attack would be too cheap or personal for “Countdown.” Some comment must have been really bad for him to actually back away from it, and label it “over the top” on air. The parental abuse line is the only one that seems to fit the mold. Video via Mediaite : Last night on his program, Bill O’Reilly went after MSNBC’s parent company, GE, for something that even O’Reilly acknowledged was ‘hard to get outraged about.’ It was not news, but appears to have come in response to some over-the-top remarks made here about O’Reilly.   Olbermann’s comments were a preface to a bit attacking Fox’s parent company News Corp. Olbermann apparently did not want anyone to think that he was reigniting his infamous feud with O’Reilly. In any case, mark down Tuesday, August 17 as the day a line of attack was too low even for Keith OIbermann. Not that he apologized for it to O’Reilly or to Countdown’s remaining viewers or anything.

Rosalie’s ‘Breaking Dawn’ Motives Are ‘Personal’ Not ‘Pro-Life,’ Nikki Reed Says

‘It’s about her want, her need to be a mother,’ she tells MTV News of her character’s fight to save the baby over Bella. By Kara Warner Nikki Reed Photo: James Lacsina As “Twilight” fans well know, there are several slightly controversial and uncomfortable scenes in “Breaking Dawn,” the final book of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series. Going into the last two films, the big questions on fans’ minds seem to revolve around the infamous birthing and imprinting scenes. One key participant in the birthing scene is Rosalie Cullen, who becomes so obsessed with Bella having Edward’s baby that she will stop at nothing to see her born — even if it means compromising Bella’s life. When Rosalie herself, Nikki Reed, stopped by to talk with MTV News about her upcoming indie film “Last Day of Summer,” we asked what she thinks about her character’s firm beliefs on that subject matter and how she’ll tackle those difficult scenes in the films. “Here’s how I look at it: I try not to be super opinionated and vocal, because in Hollywood, that seems to only lead you in the wrong direction,” Reed said. “I try to relate this particular case to Rosalie and not make it metaphorical or symbolic of anything else.” Reed said Rosalie’s strong feelings toward the baby are tied to her prior life as a human and never having had the chance to be a mother herself. “I think that Rosalie just always wanted to be a mom, and that’s how I look at it,” she said. “It has nothing to do with being pro-life or anything. I think it’s about her want, her need to be a mother, and this is the only opportunity she’s ever going to have, so she’s willing to let Bella die so she can have that and fulfill that, and that’s how I look at it. It’s her own personal desires.” “Dawn” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg also weighed in on the infamous scene recently, telling us she plans to write it so everyone feels the pain of the experience. “I want to see the terror of the experience,” Rosenberg said. “I want to have the experience of the fear and feel her pain. I want to feel everyone’s pain in this.” What do you think motivates Rosalie to fight for Bella’s baby? Let us know in the comments. Forget James Bond: Robert Rodriguez Will Return With Machete Sequels

As Machete barrels toward its opening weekend with the same wafting smell of niche that ruined the Scott Pilgrim box office party, it seems a bit premature to start talk of a sequel. Or not. During a press junket for the film — which apparently teases such future titles as Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again in its end credits — director Robert Rodriguez all but confirmed that there will be more Machete movies in the future. Because if you can’t have another James Bond, why not more Machete instead?

Kristen Stewart on Kissing Taylor Lautner: Weird!

Eclipse spoiler warning: In the third Twilight Saga film, Bella makes out with Jacob. We know: EEEK! But if such a scene is awkward for Team Edward supporters to consider, read what Kristen Stewart herself had to say about it at an Eclipse press event in Los Angeles this weekend: “It was fun to shoot, but I wish it wasn’t as hot. I was literally in a beanie and I was just sweating,” the actress said of the infamous tent scene with which any Twilight fan is familiar. “Taylor [and I] have so much fun with this stuff because our intimate moments are so few and far between – and weird.” What about romantic takes with boyfriend Robert Pattinson ? Said Stewart: “Me and Rob are always so serious because we have [a lot of] those scenes.” And because they often see each naked anyway – and that’s serious business! Meanwhile, Lautner also took to the podium to answer questions from reporters. Among the topics: working with Tom Cruise for a MTV Movie Awards skit and telling Edward in Eclipse that Jacob is hotter than he is. Watch the Q&A session below. Taylor Press Conference

By Shaheem Reid DJ Khaled Photo: Ben Rose/ Getty Images ATLANTA — A couple of weeks ago, DJ Khaled found himself in the center of MCs: Cam’ron, Vado, Fat Joe and Rick Ross. All the spitters had smiles on their faces because Khaled was making one of his movies again, this time by rapping. Khaled and company were at Atlanta radio station V103 on DJ Infamous’ radio show. “Sittin’ on the top floor/ What you think I’m hot for?/ Every summer drop more/ Hits to make my stock go up!” Khaled rapped as Infamous spun the “All I Do Is Win” remix. Khaled couldn’t contain his excitement afterward, yelling, “We made it, ma.” “We all out here for Infamous,” Khaled said when the radio show was over. “He’s official We the Best. He’s been We the Best.” Khaled recently inked his friend Infamous to a record deal via his We the Best label. Khaled, Cam’ron, Vado, Ross, Fat Joe, Chaka Zulu, Donnis, Pill, Big Boi, Raekwon and members of the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic all came down to ATL’s club Compound to support the fifth anniversary of Infamous’ radio show. “We here to support my man Infamous,” Cam said before the party. “He shows us much love, so we here to support him. We’re going to Compound and do a whole ‘nother movie tonight, but Infamous, we appreciate all the love from my brother down here. He’s Atlanta. Say no more.” “Its very monumental, and its very big,” Infamous said about his new deal. “I represent We the Best, as Khaled said. We making that We the Best move. I’m on Khaled’s label, and this is a celebration. I been on the radio, five years strong. I been in the main clubs, five years strong in Atlanta. I’m here to celebrate. I got some surprises that’s crazy.” Inf said his album probably won’t come out until the top of next year, but he fully expects to have many high-powered friends on the LP, as well as a slew of up-and-coming talent. What surprise guests do you hope DJ Infamous gets on his album? Let us know in the comments!
