Robert Pattinson Dishes On Awkward Love Scenes

‘Reese [Witherspoon] had this wig on, and literally, I was wiping my nose on her wig,’ RPattz says of scene in ‘Water for Elephants.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News We’ve heard Robert Pattinson talk about his love scenes before. “Lot of my crack in it!” he once laughed to us about what we can expect in the upcoming drama ” Bel Ami .” And we’ve even seen photographic evidence of his honeymoon boom-boom with Kristen Stewart in December’s first installment of ” Breaking Dawn .” But when it comes to Pattinson’s amorous encounters onscreen, his fans can never get enough. It’s no surprise then that one Twitter user submitted a question during “MTV First: Robert Pattinson” asking if the actor felt awkward doing love scenes with “Water for Elephants” co-star Reese Witherspoon. Awkward, no. Sick? Well, yes. “The love scene in this, I was doing it when I had a really bad cold,” Pattinson explained. “I’m not generally that awkward doing stuff apart from when I’ve got my belly coming out. But my nose is running all over the place and it was in one of the additional photography scenes, and Reese had this wig on, and literally, I was wiping my nose on her wig.” “We were doing this really passionate love scene,” he added with a giggle. “It was really stupid. I guess I’m not that awkward anymore.” The key with any love scene, Pattinson went on to make clear, is that it has to make sense within the context of the story. You can’t just get freaky in front of the camera because someone thinks it’ll boost ticket sales. “It always depends. You’ve got to really know what you’re doing. If it’s just a sort of arbitrary love scene, it’d be quite difficult,” he said. And what of his scene with Stewart in “Breaking Dawn,” the one we got an early, feather-filled glimpse of in January? Rob hesitated before saying simply, “The one on ‘Breaking Dawn’ is pretty funny.” Check out everything we’ve got on ” Water for Elephants .” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Zack Snyder Explains Choosing Henry Cavill For Superman Role

‘I think Henry just has this innocence,’ filmmaker said of his choice for ‘Man of Steel.’ By Kara Warner Zack Snyder Photo: MTV News One drawback in making comic book movies, particularly those that involve one of the most recognizable characters of all time, is that no matter how excited fans are about the project, the people involved with the film aren’t allowed to talk about it. Case in point, Zack Snyder’s super (pun intended) highly-anticipated “Superman” reboot, tentatively titled ” Man of Steel .” When MTV News caught up with the director during the press day for his epic action fantasy “Sucker Punch” on Friday (March 18), we did our best to squeeze some information out of him about the direction in which he plans to take the film. But try as we might, Snyder’s lips were mostly sealed. “It’s a super-secret thing!” he said after a few failed attempts at getting some scoop. “It’s like building a stealth bomber.” That said, despite our seemingly stealthy line of questioning, we were only able to eke out a few thoughts from Snyder regarding his choice for the film’s lead actor, Henry Cavill , versus his second choice, “True Blood” actor Joe Manganiello. “Henry’s just … I love Joe too, by the way,” Snyder said. “Really he was the only other guy I was thinking of, to be honest, other than Henry. But in the end, I think Henry just has this innocence too [in addition to the look and physicality required for the role], he has both, which is tricky,” he explained. “Superman needs the teeniest bit of that. Not to be overt, but you like it to be there ever so slightly. I mean, he grew up in Kansas, that’s just true, so you need a little of that [innocence].” Regarding Snyder’s rumored plans to make his new Superman more physical, the “300” director once again laughed at our detail-oriented line of questioning. “I can’t answer that!” he exclaimed, and then complimented our detail-digging efforts. “Because if I say, that is what will be the thing [that everyone will run with].” Check out everything we’ve got on “Superman: Man of Steel.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . Bambi dead at 52

The prison escape of former Playboy Club bunny and Milwaukee police officer Laurie “Bambi” Bembenek popularized the phrase “Run Bambi Run” and seemed tailor-made for the TV movie it inspired. But despite the fame garnered by her flight, Bembenek died having spent more than two decades insisting on her innocence but never fully clearing her name. Her attorney said Sunday that effort will continue. The 52-year-old died Saturday of liver failure at a hospice care center in Portland, Oregon, said her longtime attorney, Mary Woehrer. Bembenek worked briefly as a Playboy Club waitress in Lake Geneva before becoming a police officer in Milwaukee, where she married detective Fred Schultz. Bembenek was convicted in 1982 of fatally shooting his ex-wife, Christine Schultz, after allegedly complaining about the alimony he had to pay. Bembenek was sentenced to life in prison but maintained her innocence. In 1990, she escaped Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac and fled to Canada with then-fiance Dominic Gugliatto, the brother of another inmate. added by: Ihatethemall

The Bruce Beresford-Redman Defense: TV Producer is a Scapegoat

It’s all a set up. That’s the argument lawyers for Bruce Beresford-Redman plan to use if their client is ever extradited to Mexico on first-degree murder charges. The former Survivor producer is the prime suspect in the April death of wife Monica, who was found in a sewer near the Cancun hotel where she and Bruce were vacationing, strangled to death. Since then, Beresford-Redman has proclaimed his innocence , while the victim’s sisters have made no secret over their beliefs that Bruce is responsible for Monica’s death. Now, following an unusual hiccup in the case that proves Mexican authorities confiscated Bruce’s cell phone last month and made thousands of dollars worth of calls on it, a source tells TMZ exactly what the suspect’s defense will be: Beresford-Redman’s attorney will claim police are in need of a scapegoat because there were two deaths aside from Monica’s at the Cancun hotel in question, along with an alleged rape by an employee. With tourism in danger, the lawyer will state, Bruce has been made the fall guy. Meanwhile, a private funeral service is scheduled for Monica tomorrow. Bruce is not invited.

‘The A-Team’ Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know

Bradley Cooper, Liam Neeson lead gun-loving soldiers of fortune out to prove their innocence. By Eric Ditzian Bradley Cooper in “The A-Team” Photo: 20th Century Fox “The A-Team” left the NBC airwaves in March 1987. In the ensuing 23 years, all we’ve had were reruns and the memory of Hannibal whispering, “I love it when a plan comes together!” Now those bomb-exploding, chopper-crashing, gun-loving soldiers of fortune are back, as “The A-Team” arrives in theaters on Friday (June 11). If you missed ’em or if you never even knew ’em, it’s time to meet the crew: Liam Neeson as cigar-chomping leader Hannibal; Bradley Cooper as smooth-talking Face; Sharlto Copley as loony Murdock; and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson as milk-drinking, ass-kicking B.A. Baracus. Special Forces soldiers wrongly convicted of war crimes, the four men band together to prove their innocence — and blow up a crapload of stuff in the process. The movie is, in a word, loud . It’s also a ton of fun, and MTV News wants you to enjoy the experience to the fullest. That’s why we’ve been following this project since its inception. Now, we present to you another edition of our big-screen cheat sheet: everything you need to know about “The A-Team.” The Plan Begins To Come Together After years of false starts, in January 2009, Joe Carnahan (“Smoking Aces”) signed on to direct the adaptation, with Ridley and Tony Scott coming aboard as producers. By June of that year, Cooper and Neeson had joined up, followed in August by Rampage . Copley and Jessica Biel , who plays the hard-nosed government agent going after the Team, inked deals in September. Filming on “The A-Team” kicked off in the fall, and the first photo of the guys on set popped up shortly thereafter. Days later, the world got its first peek at Rampage as Baracus , taking over the role made famous by Mr. T. Before she headed off to shoot, Biel spoke with MTV News about tackling the classic “A-Team” material. “I think it will be a little bit similar here and there, but we really have our own tone going on,” she said. “It’s a little bit less campy than the actual show and a little bit more serious action and fighting sequences but still with lots of humor. Lots and lots of humor.” The Team Lights It Up The first official glimpse of the new A-Team arrived in January 2010, when the trailer dropped online. It gave us a brief intro to the crew — and revived the pleasant sounds of the show’s familiar theme song. The studio, Fox, followed up that trailer with a slew of photos: explosions, guns and close looks at all of the characters. The following month, we were treated to introductions by video to members of the Team — Hannibal . Face and Biel’s Sosa . A second and final trailer was released in April, giving us more of everything we’ve come to expect from “The A-Team”: weapons, tough talk and mayhem. The New Crew Rolls Out Cooper, Biel, Neeson and the rest of the cast hit the red carpet last week for the Los Angeles premiere of their movie, where MTV News’ official Coca-Cola Movie Awards Insider was on hand to take in the action. Then over the weekend, we chatted with the cast once again. Cooper revealed that once they started shooting, the script basically got thrown out the window. “The script was fantastic actually,” he said. “And it sort of went away when we started shooting it, and that was an interesting process. That was probably the most morphed element of the movie, was what happened to the script.” Script or not, Carnahan and his team have got big plans for a sequel if it turns out the first one resonates with audiences more than two decades after the TV series went off the air. Those plans include the possibility of Mr. T re-entering the “A-Team” world. “My thing with T was, I brought him down to the editorial and showed him a lot of the film, and he loved it and laughed and was very supportive and seemed to really dig Rampage in that role,” Carnahan said. “I thought, where T is concerned, if there’s ever going to be a cameo, you don’t burn your powder. I think that’s a guy you save potentially for something bigger.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The A-Team.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
