Source: Joshua Lott / Getty Chance The Rapper Donates $400,000 To Chicago Mayoral Candidate After giving a vocal endorsement of Chicago mayoral candidate Amara Enyia  back in October,  Chance The Rapper  is making his support known in a much bigger, more expensive way. The  Chicago Sun-Times  reported on Wednesday that Chance donated a whopping $400,000 to Enyia’s campaign. the Chicago native has hosted fundraisers for Amara within these last few months, but this is the first time he has personally donated to her run for office. Camonghne Felix, a representative for Enyia, said the money will go to keep the momentum going and help them galvanize people to get engaged in the political process. “[The donation] means that we’ll have more flexibility than we’ve had before in our efforts to mobilize, get people engaged and connect with communities that have been disillusioned with politics,” she said in a statement. “It’s the collective power of their voices and votes that will win on Feb. 26—not the power of money.” Chano explained why he’s backing Amara Enyia last October during a rally at City Hall. “I want to work with somebody that’s about change,” he announced. “Somebody that’s about our community. Somebody that’s about equality. Somebody that’s about fairness. And the one person in my research of this wide-open race [whose] views align with me would obviously be candidate Amara Enyia.” As far as Chicago goes, Chance isn’t the only rapper who has donated to Enyia’s campaign. Kanye West donated $200,000 in total to her cause; the rapper donated $73,540 to Enyia so she could pay off fines for not properly filing quarterly campaign finance reports during her 2015 mayoral campaign, later donating another $126,460.

Mackenzie Standifer Opens Up on Addiction Crisis: Ryan Almost Died!

If you’re a Teen Mom OG fan, then you’re no doubt aware of Ryan Edwards’ struggles with addiction . Following numerous arrests and multiple stints in rehab, Ryan is sober these days, and he’s reportedly fully committed to making amends for his past misdeeds and being the best husband and father he can be. Throughout his struggles, Ryan has benefited from the unwavering support of his wife, Mackenzie Standifer. Many fans of the show have openly wondered how Mackenzie could stand by Ryan’s side throughout his numerous relapses and embarrassing incidents such as the time he lost consciousness on their wedding day . But Mackenzie is up on the latest research, and it seems she’s well aware that while Ryan’s recovery is his responsibility, his addiction is not entirely his fault. Mackenzie has been taking to Instagram this week to try and educate her followers on the escalating opioid crisis in America. She speaks from experience, of course, as heroin and other opioids were Ryan’s drug of choice. And it seems that her recent research has made Mackenzie acutely aware of how lucky Ryan is to have escaped with his life. “I just wanted to hop on here and kind of show you guys the research I had done,” she told fans during a recent Instagram Live  “This is going to blow your mind.” She then displayed the two charts below in hopes of impressing upon her fans the severity of the situation. “If this isn’t a crisis, I don’t know what is,” Standifer said. “Don’t believe me? You’d be surprised. A lot of the time it starts so innocent and ends in a revolving door, a never-ending cycle that can’t be easily stopped,” she added. “Have you ever wondered what your local pain clinic was handing out? Opiates. Educate yourselves.” “Let’s get talking. Let’s stop this. Let’s do something about it,” Mackenzie told her followers. Of course, this is the internet in 2019, so it’s not surprising that Standifer received some pushback from followers who had not researched the as thoroughly (if they did any research at all). “It’s not a crisis,” one commenter shot back. “People do drugs, it’s a CHOICE.” “[People are] more likely to die from an overdose than a car accident, but [I’m] still getting messages like these,” she wrote under a screenshot of the conversation. “This is why I CHOOSE to not shut up.” Fortunately, it seems that Mackenzie has received more support than criticism for her efforts. “Tell them about how REGULAR people get hooked on prescription drugs because of injury or surgery or chronic pain!” one fan wrote. “[These are] not crackheads in the street who are choosing to get high!” “You’re right! It’s people you’d NEVER expect. It’s lawyers, doctors, high power officials, the soccer mom in her minivan. It does NOT discriminate,” she responded. It’s a little upsetting that Ryan and her followers apparently believe “crackheads in the street” are less deserving of continued life than “high power officials,” but at least they’re moving in the right direction. The overdose rate is up roughly 500 percent since 1990, and the opioid crisis is a major factor in the continued decline of overall life expectancy in America. Mariah Carey Hilariously Wins the #10YearChallenge

Time? Mariah Carey doesn’t know her. The legendary singer is facing some controversial accusations , but she’s still dominating on social media. She threw her hat into the ring for the 10 Year Challenge and we have to say it: she won. The 10 Year Challenge has been all over social media for the past week. Generally, people share a photo from 2019 and a photo from 2009 for comparison. As you are about to see, Mariah Carey took a different approach. “I don’t get this 10 year challenge,” Mariah admitted on both Twitter and Instagram. She continued, writing that “time is not something I acknowledge.” That much is clear from her photo. These are both the same photo placed side-by-side. Mariah’s caption includes a clarification: “Picture taken at some point prior to today,” Mariah writes beside a little asterisk. She could have ignored the challenge like so many people have. Instead, she took a shot and reminded everyone that she can dominate social media with minimal effort. Of course, some have suggested that Mariah may have had a less humorous reason for not wanting to participate. In some of Mariah’s more recent appearances, her look has attracted confusion, ridicule, and cruel comments from fans. She may have wanted to avoid any of that by not posting a visual, side-by-side reminder of how different she looks now than she once did. If so, she would not be alone in abstaining from the challenge. From illness to pregnancy to the ravages of life, a lot of people don’t feel too great about how they’re looking in 2019 selfies. This is a bigger issue for celebrity women, whose fans seem confused when they no longer look like they did when they were 20. The 10 Year Challenge has garnered a number of reactions. Those of us who were already adults in 2009 sometimes see a friend or peer’s 2009 photo in which they were a tween and feel centuries old. Others have simply shown how much of a glow-up they’ve experienced — or at least, how much better their current camera works. A few trans folks, like Caitlyn Jenner, have used it to highlight their transitions into their authentic selves. Good for them. Others have used the challenge to raise environmental concerns, such as showing how much glaciers have decreased in size in just one decade. As wilth all such challenges, it’s completely optional. Any pressure to participate exists only in your own mind. Some people choose to own their new look, even if it is radically different than what it once was. But that’s their choice. Mariah made hers. Fans, at least, seemed to support that. “If Mariah Carey says that time does not exist,” one fan tweeted. “Then time does not exist PERIOD.” “Me walking in late with a Starbucks drink…..uhhh time is not something I acknowledge,” reads another fan tweet. Another wrote: “This is the energy you need to leave work and start your weekend now.” That, as the kids say, is a mood. Jenelle Evans: Did She REALLY Quit Teen Mom 2?!

At this point, just about every star in the Teen Mom franchise has threatened to quit the show over clashes with producers and/or fans. Thus far, none of the moms has actually made good on her threats. That’s not surprising, as it’s easier to talk about walking away from a cushy six-figure gig than it is to actually do it. These days, Jenelle Evans is threatening to quit , and she may be the first to actually cut ties with the show by choice. After all, no cast member has ever generated nearly as much controversy — or attracted as much negative attention — as Jenelle. In a new trailer for the upcoming season of Teen Mom 2 , Jenelle engages in a heated discussion with her mother, Barbara Evans. (Most of Jenelle’s conversations are with Barbara this season, as her husband, David Eason, was fired from the show, and she’s not on speaking terms with her most recent ex, Nathan Griffith.) “This will probably be my last season,” a tearful Jenelle tells her mom in the clip below. Teen Mom 2 Season 9 Preview “Stay the f–k away from me, because I’m done,” she adds, in case anyone doubted her sincerity. Jenelle certainly sounds like her mind is made up in that clip. And while we would be somewhat surprised to see her cut off her family’s sole source of income (David remains unemployed nearly a year after losing his TV gig.), Jenelle has been signaling that she’s fed up with the show for quite some time now. And with all the negative attention she’s been drawing to herself lately, stepping away from the spotlight is probably the best thing Jenelle could do. Well, divorcing David Eason and fleeing with her kids to safety is the best thing Jenelle could do, but lowering her public profile is the second best thing she could do. There have been so many David and Jenelle scandals in recent months that it’s difficult to decide which is the most horrendous. Obviously, David (allegedly) beating Jenelle and leaving her hospitalized is a strong contender. But Eason posting terrorist threats on Instagram and being investigated by the Secret Service is pretty f–ked up, as well. In a perfect world, the decision wouldn’t be Jenelle’s to make, and MTV would kick her to the curb so as not to continue financing a family of violent bigots. BOSSIP Be Trippin’: #RunDisney Is The Race Weekend You Don’t Want To Miss

Source: Anisa Pennie / Anisa Pennie BOSSIP Editor Takes On 5K For Disney’s RunDisney Race Weekend Y’all know we love a good trip , so when iOne’s Pop Culture division Senior Content Director Janeé Bolden had the opportunity to take part in the 26th annual Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna, she signed up for the 5K right away. For those not already in the know, RunDisney is one of America’s most popular destination races. What started out with just 8,200 runners in 1994 has grown to over 100,000 athletes and spectators. It’s a great opportunity for athletes at all levels too. The four-day race weekend offers activities for runners of all ages and levels including the 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, runDisney Kids Races and runDisney Health and Fitness Expo. After arriving in Orlando Wednesday, January 9th, Janeé’s first stop was the Boardwalk Inn Resort, where she stayed for the race weekend. After checking in and securing her MagicBand, (Disney’s bracelet that serves as a room key and access pass to the parks) Janeé headed to the Health and Fitness Expo to grab her bib and race shirt. The expo offered up all kinds of goodies for sale; like compression socks, colorful kicks and costumes (after all, this is Disney where even athletes like to get in the spirit). Next stop was an early dinner because the 5K was set to start bright and early at 5:30 am and racers are expected to line up at the starting line beginning at 4:30. A word to the wise — when choosing costumes for runDisney we highly advise you to think of something that incorporates LAYERS! At 4:30 am the temperatures in Orlando were a breezy 46 degrees. Shout out to the brave couple who dressed as Jasmine and Aladdin! Everywhere we looked there were group of people in themed costumes — there was one group dressed as a monorail (complete with a speaker that made train conductor appropriate announcements), a family with shirts exclaiming that their dad made them run together and all kinds of Mickeys, Minnies and Goofys… There were also more than a few folks rocking Dopey Challenge shirts. The Dopey Challenge is for folks who are up for the task of running a 5K on Thursday, a 10K on Friday, a half marathon on Saturday and a marathon on Sunday. Source: Disney / Disney The 5K takes runners through Epcot Center and for the folks in the last group, it’s pretty spectacular watching the sun rise over the park while gasping for air. Fortunately there are plenty of reasons to pause along the way — including to get in line for photos with Scottish Donald Duck and other characters. Like many other racers, we took advantage of being up early to visit Disney’s parks after the 5K. Thursday we hit up Animal Kingdom, where we enjoyed the Flights of Passage ride in Pandora twice before heading over to Asia to ride Mount Everest — also twice. We took advantage of Park Hopper tickets, so the second half of the day was spent at Hollywood Studios where we rode the Tower of Terror before finishing the night at the Fantasmic show — a spectacular showcase of the many popular Disney characters and songs that includes lights, boats, projections and fireworks. Definitely a can’t miss if you visit Disney. Source: Janeé Bolden / Janeé Bolden For the marathon Sunday morning we were at the parks bright and early before 4 am. The race has a 5:30 start time too but there are a lot more groups racing. We watched the race via live feed and waited at the finish line for the winners. The male winner Fredison Costa took the gold for his 7th time! Costa is a native of Brazil, like the female winner Gianna Martins. Both racers were nice enough to talk to BOSSIP about their wins… And Fredison was so excited he hugged everyone at the finish line. We’re wishing him good luck because he’s got another marathon ahead next week — he’ll be competing in the London Marathon. One thing about runDisney is that it may be at the happiest place on earth and the athletes might get into character but it’s still a very serious race because it serves as a qualifier for the Olympics and other important races. However, Williams wasn’t the total star in that moment. Recently, her spotlight has been getting snatched by her daughter’s superstar doll Qai Qai.   Qai Qai belongs to one-year-old  Alexis Olympia Ohanian , and she’s already poppin’ on Instagram with more than 90,000 followers. Her account was started back in August 2018 and since then, Qai Qai has gone from being left on the hardwood floor…   To having front row seats to Serena’s matches.   It’s no wonder she was receiving major attention at the Australian Open. Serena explained Qai Qai’s appeal in a press conference following a win, saying it was important for her daughter to have someone like Qai Qai. “I wanted her to have a Black doll,” she said. “Growing up, I didn’t have that many opportunities to have Black dolls.” Serena married Alexis Ohanian , who is White, in November of 2017 and they welcomed Alexis Jr. on September 1, 2017 . It seems Serena is already giving her kid diverse representation in a world that isn’t always welcoming to different skin colors. “I definitely want to always teach her love and teach her just basic human,” Serena said. “Humans should always have love for each other, no matter what color they are.” In another  press conference , after her win Thursday, Serena was asked why she thinks so many people are into Qai Qai, and she responded, “I’m really into the doll. I love Qai Qai.” When asked why she loved the doll, Serena jokingly responded, “Because I personally see Qai Qai firsthand and the struggles that she goes through.” She continued, “Qai Qai’s mom (Olympia), just forgets about her, so… It’s funny to see what Qai Qai goes through. It’s pretty cute.” Well it seems thousands of people are here for the cuteness. If you hop on Qai Qai’s IG page, you’ll find she’s traveling the world…   Doing camera work…   And entering the early stages of Beyhive fandom…   And every now and then, she still hasn’t forgotten where she’s come from…   If you see Qai Qai in the next Toy Story sequel, don’t be surprised.

Alexa Curtin, Real Housewives of Orange County Star, Busted for Drug Possession

Alexa Curtin, a veteran presence on The Real Housewives of Orange County, was arrested earlier this month on two counts of drug possession. According to documents obtained by The Blast, the 26-year-old was taken into custody on January 5 for possession of Xanax and drug paraphernalia. She actually spent one night at the Orange County Jail and was released on January 6 after posting bond. Curtin is scheduled to appear in court this March for a hearing, which is something the Bravo personality may be used to doing. In other words: this is far from her first run-in with the law. Just this past October, a judge issued an arrest warrant for Curtin after she failed to appear in court hearings related to three separate criminal cases. The daughter of Real Housewives of Orange County alums Lynne and Frank Curtin, Alexa previously arrested in August of 2018 for drug-related warrants and spent four days in jail. There’s a lot more on her record, too… She was also arrested in June of 2017 on a DUI charge and charged in April 2018 for this crime.
