Barack Obama Lands Spot On Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs Chart

F ormer President Barack Obama has always been big on music. Throughout his presidency, he’s shared with us the songs that he keeps in heavy rotation. Let us not forget that time he made an appearance at the Apollo Theater and sang some of Al Green ’s song “Let’s Stay Together.” Obama has now taken his love for music to new heights. According to USA Today , his recent collaboration with Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda has landed him a spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart. The track features Obama, singer BeBe Winans , and Hamilton actor Christopher Jackson . On the song—which is about former President George Washington leaving his presidential seat—Obama recites Washington’s farewell address. “I anticipate with pleasing expectation that retreat in which I promise myself to realize, without alloy, the sweet enjoyment of partaking, in the midst of my fellow-citizens, the benign influence of good laws under a free government, the ever-favorite object of my heart, and the happy reward, as I trust, of our mutual cares, labors, and dangers,” says Obama. The song is a part of Miranda’s project Hamildrops which puts a spin on different songs from the musical. He launched the project last year and some of the proceeds are given to different nonprofit organizations. Obama has been a long-time supporter of the Hamilton movement. He took his family to see the show on Broadway and in 2016 the cast performed at the White House. His Billboard accomplishment comes just weeks after he shared his favorite songs of 2018 list which included music from The Carters , Leon Bridges , J. Cole , Cardi B , Janelle Monae , and others. Get ‘Em: Demi Lovato Goes IN On Instagram Over A Fat-Shaming Advertisement

Source: Sun Sentinel / Getty Demi Lovato Slams Instagram For Displaying A Harmful Ad Demi Lovato took to Instagram on Friday to fight back on an issue she’s long been passionate about stopping: body shaming. Instagram removed an advertisement for a mobile game from their app after the singer posted several IG stories denouncing the ad and asking for it to be taken down.  The sponsored post promoting a game called “Game of Sultans” featured two side-by-side characters, one dubbed “obese” and another called “pretty.” “Why is this fat shaming bull**it on my feed,” the 26-year-old wrote on her Instagram story. “So many things wrong with this ad.” She even tweeted about it to draw attention to the ad and how much of a problem she has with it, urging her fans to “always speak up for what you believe in.” Just called out Instagram and some bullshit game on my insta stories.. go check it out. Always speak up for what you believe in! — Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) January 4, 2019 The message from the ad is basically that only skinny women are pretty–which is clearly wrong and problematic–so Demi took it upon herself to take a stand. “This is absolutely harmful to anyone who is easily influenced by societal pressures put on us from the diet culture to constantly be losing weight in a world that teaches us to equate our value and worth with the way we look and especially anyone in recovery from an eating disorder,” she wrote. “Especially when eating disorders are all about ‘control.’” Lovato goes on to directly call out Instagram for allowing an ad that degrades the way people look on its platform. “Please Instagram, keep this bull**it off mine and other’s feeds who could easily be effected by this disgusting advertisement,” she wrote. “With how aware people are becoming of mental health and mental illnesses, I expect you guys to know better by allowing this advertisement to be allowed on your app. And shame on the game.” Following the post, Instagram ended up apologizing and told  TMZ   the ad violated its terms of service and would be removed. “We’re sorry. This ad was approved by mistake,” the company said. “We reviewed it again and removed it from future delivery in people’s feeds.” Continue reading →

This Daddy-Daughter Date Night Photo Has People Saying Scott Disick Is A Racist

Scott Disick Accused Of Posting Racist Photo With Daughter Penelope Disick Scott Disick posted a photo this week that has some people calling him a racist. The pic features Scott and his daughter Penelope dining at a restaurant and as the proud dad poses , he’s holding chop sticks and his daughter is pulling her eyes upward. While some felt it was definitely racism rearing it’s ugly head (“Teach her not to do the Chinese eye thing at a sushi restaurant. Don’t teach her to be a racist,” one person commented), others said she’s just a kid making whatever silly face she could think of at the time. Scott seemed like he couldn’t care less what anyone thought, posting the follow-up pic below while not addressing the controversy. “Living my best life,” he wrote. Here we go again between Ronnie Magro and Jen Harley. And again and again and again. Rumor has it Kim and Kanye have another baby on the way. According to  Hot New Hip Hop  Yeezy and Kimmy are expecting a boy. While neither has yet to formally confirm the new bundle of joy  US Weekly  is reporting that the newborn is expected to arrive in May. As their unnamed source tells it they had one more embryo left after their third child Chicago was born via a surrogate in 2018. The news of KimYe expecting again should not come as a surprise to fans of the reality star turned mogul and Rap great turned free thinker. Kim has recently expressed wanting a big family but has made it clear she is no longer here for carrying the pregnancy. She admitted to experiencing several health issues including preeclampsia and placenta accreta with her first two babies prompting her doctors to advise against another natural pregnancy.
