Source: Power Sport Images / Getty Lamar Odom Sued Over Unpaid AMEX Bill Even though Lamar Odom seems to be living a much healthier lifestyle than he has in the past, the ball player still has some issues to take care of. According to court documents obtained by The Blast , American Express is suing Odom for allegedly failing to pay up on his bill. The credit card company is claiming that the former Los Angeles Lakers player owes them a whopping $17,050.83. Lamar has been talking about joining Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league, and he might have to use his first paycheck to help pay off that big AMEX bill. Maybe this debt–or other money issues of the same nature–will be something that we hear about when Lamar releases his highly-anticipated memoir in 2019. From Odom’s Instagram page, it also looks like he’s getting into the business of vaping with some “big things coming soon!” Regardless of this alleged debt, it’s good to see Odom trying to get into some other revenue streams besides basketball.

Her hit songs “Focus,” “Best Part,” and “Every Kind Of Way” have topped the charts and made her a household name. She has released a total five projects since first appearing on the scene in 2016. Cuban Doll would like to be excluded from the Cardi B and Offset narrative. Please and thank you. The little-known rapper (whose real name is NOT Cuban Doll, we just learned) has found herself at the center of a brewing sex scandal in the wake of Cardi B and Offset’s split. The break-up was confirmed this week by Cardi on video , who said she and her husband of about a year simply fell out of love and will remain “friends and business partners.” She did not appear to have any hard feelings against anyone upon announcing this predictable news. BUT THEN… TMZ posted text messages between Offset and someone named Summer Bunni (also, not her real name) that seemed to depict the artist asking this random woman to have a threesome. He wanted this threesome to include himself, Bunni and Cuban Doll. What about Cardi B? She was very pregnant at the time and actually gave birth just a few weeks after this exchange allegedly took place, in July of 2018. Yikes, right? Only Tristan Thompson would be proud of Offset for doing such a thing. Did this threesome actually take place, though? Cuban Doll says she. In fact, she tells TMZ that she’s never even met the now-former Mr. Cardi B. “I don’t know him. I never spoke to him. I never met him,” Doll told TMZ yesterday when stopped and asked about the situation, adding: “I’m just caught in the middle. It’s all based on [Summer Bunni] trying to get clout. It’s all some clout-getting stuff.” Cuban says that she and Bunni used to be friends, but had some kind of falling out and have not been close for awhile. It remains unclear whether Bunni provided TMZ with the text message above, but Summer has since tried to apologize for her role in Cardi and Offset’s separation. The Instagram user basically admitted on Wednesday that she was screwing around with Offset on her own at least, but stopped doing so after he and Cardi welcomed their daughter. “I never wanted to break up a happy home or be a cause of someone just saying, like, ’F—k it,’ to get a divorce or anything like that,” she adds, explaining that she didn’t think the marriage was very serious. (We’re pretty sure that view is antithetical to the entire defintion of marriage, but whatevs.) Neither Cuban Doll nor Summer Bunni have talked to Cardi B about this gigantic mess. Doll told TMZ, however, that the superstar singer knows she had “nothing to do” with Offset, while Bunni has confessed to the opposite. She totally did Offset. But she’s very sorry for it. Bunni penned the message below on Instagram in response… … and she says she would like Cardi to know the following: I would like her to know that I’m a very genuine person and I’m not here to break up her family, or mess up what she has going on with her husband and I’m very sorry that this has happened. I’m very sorry that I didn’t think about my worth as a young lady and I just hope that she can overcome this. I know that her and Offset actually do have love for each other; I can tell. So I just hope that, with this, she can just focus on her love for Offset.
Things aren’t looking so good for Kevin Hart right now. Don’t feel bad though, it’s all 100% his own fault. There’s a whole, whole lot to unpack here, so let’s just get to it, all right? Earlier this week, it was announced that Kevin would be acting as host for next year’s Academy Awards. Many people took issue with this because of several homophobic comments he’s made in the past . In 2011, he tweeted “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay’.” In 2010, he made another tweet asking why Damien Wayans’ profile picture looks “like a gay bill board for AIDS.” There are actually dozens of awful tweets like these — he used to be very fond of calling people “gay” as an insult, and of the phrase “no homo.” He also used to be very quick to call someone a “f-g.” Kevin did stop talking like this on Twitter in 2011, which was also the year he got famous when one of his stand-up specials got popular — make of that what you will. He also made questionable statements during a 2010 comedy special. “One of my biggest fears is my son growing up and being gay,” he said then. “That’s a fear.” “Keep in mind, I’m not homophobic. Be happy. Do what you want to do. But me, as a heterosexual male, if I can prevent my son from being gay, I will.” So all of this is pretty bad, right? This isn’t the first time these comments have resurfaced, but since hosting the Oscars is such a big deal, this is the first time they’ve gotten this much attention. And Kevin did not appreciate it. In an Instagram post he made yesterday, he implored anyone reading to “Stop looking for reasons to be negative.” He wrote that he is “truly happy,” and that there is “NOTHING” that will change that. “If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me,” he continued. “You LIVE and YOU LEARN & YOU GROW & YOU MATURE. Please take your negative energy and put it into something constructive.” The whole post was weird because he was criticizing other people for being upset over the genuinely terrible things that he said . And his next post was even weirder. Several hours after the previous post, he shared this video: Kevin Hart: I Won’t Apologize for Homophobic Jokes! As he explained, he’d just gotten a call from the Academy “and that call basically said, ‘Kevin, apologize for your tweets of old, or we’re going to have to move on and find another host.'” He refused to apologize. He refused because, as he said, “I’ve addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up. I’ve addressed it/ I’ve spoken on it.” “I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were. I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then. I’ve done it. I’ve done it.” And because of that, he’s not going to “continue to go back and tap into the days of old, when I’ve moved on and I’m in a completely different space in my life.” He also said that since people took the time to find all those awful things he said, they could have also spent time to find newer statements he’s made discussing why he made those comments in the first place. “We’re feeding the internet trolls and we reward them,” he complained. “I’m not going to do it, man.” He finished by saying that regardless of what happens next, he’s “thankful for the opportunity” to host the Academy Awards. So what happened next? He got fired. Well, he didn’t get fired — late last night, he tweeted “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscars.” To elaborate, he wrote “This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists.” And despite what he said in that video that he shared shortly before these tweets, he did apologize for his old comments. “I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past,” Kevin said. “I’m sorry that I hurt people.” “I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart.” He concluded with “Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.” All right, so Kevin is no longer hosting the Oscars because he made several offensive comments in the past that he refused to apologize for. It all seems so silly, doesn’t it? The Academy Awards are a very big deal, and it’s also a very big deal for a comedian to be asked to host them. On top of that, all those things he said really were terrible, no matter how long ago he said them or what his intentions were or how much he’s grown since then. So why was it such a huge deal for him to apologize? Especially when he ended up apologizing anyway after already losing the job. Kevin Hart, just do better next time, OK? It sincerely is not as difficult as you seem to think it is.

The comedian seemed elated to have been confirmed as the host of the February 2019 ceremony earlier this week, but things got a bit shaky for him on Thursday afternoon when old tweets and jokes of him speaking negatively about homosexuality resurfaced: I wonder when Kevin Hart is gonna start deleting all his old tweets pic.twitter.com/ZbYG6SI3Xm — Benjamin Lee (@benfraserlee) December 5, 2018 Kevin scrambled to delete the tweets in question (this is only a handful of the offenders), but it appears the damage is done. The funnyman took to his Twitter and Instagram to talk about hoe little time he had for all the animosity coming his way over the old tasteless jokes… But Kevin CLEARLY saw all the negativity he claimed to have been dodging because he popped up a few hours later with THIS to say about all the “negative people” who seem to be so angry about his past (undeleted for some strange reason) tweets and old outlook on homosexuality: And when it came to the Academy, it seemed that Kevin drew the line at apologizing for his old offensive statements. Even though the tweets are brand new news to a large sector of the population that will be watching the Oscars next February, Kevin felt that he’s made all the apologies he’ll ever make for saying the things he has, so the committee can simply find another host if that’s how they feel: Still, Kevin came back and apologized later in the evening, stating that he had made the decision to step down (even though he previously said he had been dropped from the gig) so as not to be a distraction on the big night. Whether booming out of car speakers or playing at family events, the percussive sound finds its way into the atmosphere, whether you’re an active listener or not. Go-go has roots in 1970s funk with iconic performers like Chuck Brown (considered “The Godfather of go-go”). However, as years went by, the genre started to evolve, the pace quickened, and soon, a new dance style emerged. “Beat ya feet” is a style that involves fluid footwork and energetic moves, and dancer Porche “ Queen P” Anthony knows all about it. Queen P started beating her feet in 1999, only one year after the style was created by Marvin “Slush” Gross in D.C.’s Barry Farm neighborhood. Since then, Queen P has delivered her moves in school hallways, neighborhood churches, and go-go venues throughout the D.C. and Maryland area. Go-go acts like Backyard Band (BYB) , Critical Condition Band (CCB) and Raw Image served as her soundtrack. “Raw Image came out with some serious heat,” Queen P said in a talk with Global Grind . “When they had the song ‘Shake It Out, ‘ it’s something about that record…I used to be in the house drilling myself with that.” Queen P hit the national stage in 2009 when she and her crew, the Beat Ya Feet Kings, made it to MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew . After a solid run on the show, Queen P continued to build beat ya feet culture by teaching the dance across the country. However, back home, the momentum started to die. Even though beat ya feet kept an underground following, the popularity for the dance started to dip. “Beat ya feet is like a cat,” Queen P said. “We keep getting these lives. It’ll die and then it’ll be alive again, and we’re running out of lives. I told dancers if we don’t capitalize on it this year, that’s it.” Now, at 32 years old, Queen P continues to spread the beat ya feet dance with workshops, videos, and merchandise. She even had a notable cameo in Ciara ‘s music video for “Dose.” Check out our quick conversation with Queen P below where she describes working with Ciara, go-go culture, and being one of the few women in beat ya feet dance. So you told me you trained in different styles like modern dance, jazz, and hip hop. Then, you started beating your feet in middle school. Was there anything else that contributed to your style today? From ten years old and on is when I really started educating myself on entertainment and performance quality from watching music videos. So The Box (T.V. channel), Video Soul , BET’s Cita’s World. When I would come back from school and do all my homework, I would just turn it on and get right to it. So like watching Ginuwine , Usher , and I’m a huge supporter of Missy Elliott. But I’ve always been more of a fan or supporter of the creatives behind the artist, so like the choreographers and the creative directors. I understood that the artist isn’t solely responsible for their songs. How did the Ciara music video come about? My dance mentor is Jamaica Craft and she is Ciara’s creative director. She had been waiting on the right project to utilize my talent and it just so happened to be “Dose.” I honestly was shocked because my name was in the video and that never happens for a dancer…to get that type of shout out. You’re representing for the ladies in beat ya feet. Do you feel like you have a specific experience being a woman in the culture? There was a point where I felt disrespected in the community of BYF. I’m a woman in a male-dominated movement and it’s not easy at all, especially when you’re just a natural-born leader. I got a lot of pushback within the team I danced for and from others around 2009, especially when myself and the kings were on America’s Best Dance Crew. What’s the climate for women in the culture now? There were a lot of girls involved back in the late ’90s, but I believe at some point for girls, it wasn’t as popular. Right now, there are females who do the style, but they don’t want to identify with women. I grew up watching artists and dancers back in the day who wore loose fitting clothes and hats — tomboy swag I guess you can say — but they embraced their femininity. I am one in the same. There’s young ladies who I’ve trained in the style, but they just haven’t embraced it as much as I have over the years. What’s your vision for beat ya feet in the future? My desire is that it becomes as global and respected as the Krump movement , and the rawness of the style doesn’t get tampered with or watered down. What about go-go culture as a whole? Well if we continue to get support from the go-go community, they will see how important we are to keeping them in the ears of listeners as well. The dance movement is able to bridge the gap. Dancers are the new DJs. We break music as well. If we don’t move as a unit, I believe the dance will spread and get bigger, and in essence, leave the music behind. The more people we get familiarized with the go-go sound as dancers, then we’ll have the undivided attention of people in other areas, and they’ll take on a love for not just the dance, but the music as well.
