It took a while, but Mexican cartel leader Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera was convicted today (Feb. 12) in a Brooklyn federal district court of multiple crimes including operating a continuing criminal enterprise and multiple charges of conspiracy to import and distribute cocaine, heroin and marijuana. He was found guilty of all the charges he was facing. El Chapo is also infamous for escaping not one but two supermax prisons in Mexico. But don’t expect such finesse stateside. Reports the New York Times : The guilty verdict against the kingpin, whose real name is Joaquín Guzmán Loera, ended the career of a legendary outlaw who also served as a dark folk hero in Mexico, notorious for his innovative smuggling tactics, his violence against competitors, his storied prison breaks and his nearly unstoppable ability to evade the Mexican authorities. The jury’s decision came more than a week after the panel started deliberations at the trial in Federal District Court in Brooklyn where prosecutors presented a mountain of evidence against the cartel leader, including testimony from 56 witnesses, 14 of whom once worked with Mr. Guzmán. He faces life in prison at his sentencing. Needless to say, the trial was bananas. Case in point: At times, the trial was so bizarre it felt like a drug-world telenovela unfolding live in the courtroom. Last month, one of Mr. Guzmán’s mistresses tearfully proclaimed her love for him even as she testified against him from the stand. The following day, in what seemed like a coordinated show of solidarity, the kingpin and his wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro, appeared in court in matching red velvet smoking jackets. Toward the end of the proceeding, Alejandro Edda, an actor who plays El Chapo on the Netflix series “Narcos: Mexico,” showed up at the trial to study Mr. Guzmán. The crime lord flashed an ecstatic smile when told Mr. Edda had come to see him. El Chapo is accused of making a whopping $14 billion during his run. Today (Feb. 12), the Roc Nation singer shared video footage and texts that cast the “Mo Bamba” rapper in the worst of lights. Yesterday (Feb. 11), Skye finally named Wes as her abuser (it was all Internet speculation beforehand) while claiming his goons attacked her and her boyfriend, rapper GoldLink. Afterward, Sheck Wes took Twitter to deny putting hands on any woman. Skye saw his denial, and doubled down on her accusations. Blac Chyna has put three of her loved ones on blast. Although, based on what Chyna says in the video below, we wonder whether she’d even refer to these people as loved ones anymore. In an emotional and anger-filled Instagram rant, Chyna put Rob Kardashian, Tyga and even her very own mother on blast yesterday, standing up for herself as a parent and slamming anyone who has recently labeled her as unfit to serve in this role. (For the record, Chyna’s mom and her second baby daddy have both said this of late.) “Ya know what’s so wild to me is that I never asked Tyga for child support, Rob for child support or whatever and then we just went to court, or whatnot, and I tried to squash it, which I did,” the model says in this video. “But none of that comes out. It’s only negative sh-t with Chyna, Angela White,” she added, referring to her real name. One could find some fault in this reasoning, of course. One could argue that Chyna has maybe been savvy to associate herself with the Kardashians… … but that she’s still only rich and famous because she’s associated herself with the Kardashians, riding their popular coattails to her own version of success. Chyna’s clapback in this video comes just days after her mother, Tokyo Toni, claimed that she doesn’t think anything is wrong with “children going with their dad ’til their mothers get, you know, better.” “It’s clear, very clear – it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see – something is terribly wrong,” Toni said of Chyna . “I got f-cking ridiculed by everybody,” Chyna says. “Toni, Tyga, Rob. It is like toxic. If you like me, you like me. If you don’t, I don’t give a f-ck. Confused? Allow us to explain… The veteran Teen Mom OG cast member turned a few heads of his Twitter earlier this month when he retweeted someone who had tagged him in a rather X-rated message. It read as follows: “Last night I had a sex dream about [Tyler Baltierra] yeah… so there’s that revelation.” Weird and random, but whatever, right? It’s still flattering! And Tyler basically responded as such. “Dude I swear, I see posts from people about having sex dreams with me at least once a day hahaha!” he Tweeted. “Apparently I’ve been getting around in the dreamworld.” This seems like a totally normal and harmless response. But try telling that to some folks on the World Wide Web. “This is so inappropriate, as a married man to post,” wrote one troll, somehow thinking Tyler was betraying wife Catelynn by simply noting that a bunch of folks out there evidently fantasize about his naked body. Tyler’s own father actually asked his son a short while ago when he wanted to take a hiatus because he wanted to have sex with a new woman. And this belief clearly bothers Tyler a lot. “The main goal is to stay with my wife and live this life,” Tyler insisted in this same Us Weekly interview. He added at the time: “We love each other. It’s crazy because when you do grow up with each other, no one can really understand the bond. There is no explanation for it. “It’s hard for people like my dad, who’s been in prison his whole life and never really had a serious adult relationship, to relate. It’s official: Joy Behar will not be the next Governor of Virginia. She may not be a host of The View for much longer, either. On Thursday morning, Behar and her co-panelists talked openly about a photo that has surfaced on social media, even including footage of the photo itself on air. It depicts Behar at a Halloween party in 2016, her face darkened in a controversial manner known as “Blackface.” This name was coined back in the 19th century after white performers used theatrical make-up to represent caricature of black people. Ever since, it’s been considered very insensitive and offensive for a non-black person to dress up or pretend to be a black person because it dredges up memories of slavery and civil rights violations. And yet… celebrities continue to get in trouble for the act . “I went as a beautiful African woman,” Behar said as an explanation for this look, which we’ve included below: “I had makeup that was a little bit darker than my skin – that’s my actual hair, though,” she added. Raven-Symoné seemed concerned upon seeing the picture, putting her co-host on the spot by asking: “Joy, are you black? Are you my auntie, Joy? Do you have tanning lotion on?” But while Behar seemed to brush off the incident as no big deal, essentially brushing it off as a normal Halloween costume, viewers and Twitter users are taking the comedian to task. Big time. “Megyn Kelly was fired from her show for asking a hypothetical question about blackface. Joy Behar actually wore blackface, and admitted it, and showed a picture of it on TV, yet she still has her job,” wrote one astute individual. This is a reference to how Kelly got canned by NBC after she questioned why blackface was a big deal . “Just a reminder that Megyn Kelly was fired for saying that blackface was acceptable when she was a kid (and not actually *participating* in blackface like all of these people.)” another person noted. Said Kelly during one of her final Today Show segments: ”What is racist? Because you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface on Halloween, or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween. “Back when I was a kid that was OK, as long as you were dressing like a character.” Kelly eventually made a public mea cupla – but then-colleague Al Roker said “she owes a bigger apology to folks of color around the country,” adding: “This is a history going back to the 1830s — minstrel shows, to demean and denigrate a race wasn’t right. “I’m old enough to have lived through Amos ’n’ Andy, where you had white people in blackface playing two black characters and just magnifying the worst stereotypes about black people. “And that’s what the big problem is.” DO YOU THINK JOY BEHAR SHOULD BE FIRED FOR HER OUTFIT?
