Campaigning in Nevada in advance of tomorrow’s Republican presidential caucus, Ron Paul talked to CNN’s Joe Johns about his prospects in the Silver State and beyond. Paul said the caucus format works to his advantage because it rewards organization and enthusiasm, rather than strictly money, which gives Mitt Romney a huge edge. The Texas Congressman, whose financial situation is still better than most, lamented that his resources limited any chance against Romney in a big state like Florida. How well he’ll do in Nevada remains to be seen, but Paul says he will continue his goal of accumulating delegates and that there is “zero chance” of him dropping out. First Lady Michelle Obama cajoled Jay Leno into eating healthy foods for the first time in … oh, ever during her visit to the Tonight Show on NBC Tuesday. Promoting her “Let’s Move!” campaign to get kids excited about fitness and healthy diets, Michelle brought out some food to make an example out of Jay. As both Jay and Michelle joked repeatedly about his eating habits, Leno sampled apples, sweet potato fries and a pizza made with eggplant, peppers and zucchini. Could’ve used some sausage, but even Jay conceded it wasn’t bad. Michelle Obama Tonight Show Interview, Part II Michelle Obama encouraged Jay to dip his apple in honey made from beehives in the White House garden: “It will help it go down easier,” she said. “’White House honey’? That just sounds bad,” Leno replied, adding, “You know, with a different president that could mean a whole different thing.” In California to promote her initiative and attend a pair of fundraising events, Michelle also talked about her daughters and her husband’s reelection campaign. She even praised Mitt Romney singing at a recent event. Classy woman. Watch the first part of Michelle Obama’s Tonight Show interview below: Michelle Obama Tonight Show Interview, Part I
During ‘MTV First: This Means War,’ actress says, ‘I’m not sure it would faze him: I’m sure he’s heard that quite a bit.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Reese Witherspoon Photo: MTV News Let’s take a trip back in time — further back even than 1991, when an adorably precocious 14-year-old Reese Witherspoon, star of “The Man in the Moon,” sat down for her first-ever MTV interview . Instead, let’s jump straight into the ’80s, as we did during Tuesday’s “MTV First: This Means War” live stream event, to learn a little bit about what the future Oscar-winner was like before showing up on the Hollywood scene. Because it was back then that Witherspoon was just a tween with a dream — a dream named Johnny Depp. Regarding the first celebrity object of her affection, Witherspoon confessed during the interview, “I have to say probably Johnny Depp in ’21 Jump Street.’ I just had a really major crush on him. I used to pull pictures out of Teen Beat and put them on my wall.” And now, a couple of decades later, she’s finally admitting it to the world, because she certainly has never told Depp. “I don’t think he knows,” she said, laughing. “I’m not sure it would faze him: I’m sure he’s heard that quite a bit.” Depp, of course, graduated from “Jump Street” to big-screen icon, never once joining in a traditional, shoot-’em-up action flick — much like Witherspoon herself, until “This Means War.” The decision to sign on to one at this point in her career (opposite Chris Pine and Tom Hardy) stemmed from never wanting to repeat herself. “I try not to make the same movie twice,” she explained. “I try to explore and push out in new areas, and I thought it was a nice way to get comedy and action together. I’ve never really been in a movie with a bunch of guns and action sequences. I’d turn to Tom and Chris and say, ‘The bad guys are chasing us — this is hysterical!’ It would just make me laugh. I think it’s ridiculous — me running from the bad guys. But it was really fun.” Check out everything we’ve got on “This Means War.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Rihanna has added to her art collection by dishing out $160,000 for a Marilyn Monroe portrait … made of 65,000 crystals. Rihanna hired British artist Claire Milner to create the giant piece, which took four months to complete and weighs 182 pounds. Milner tells Britain’s The Sun , “I tried to show the glitter of the public life and then the sadness in Marilyn’s eyes. Because of who Rihanna is, everything had to be done through her interior decorators. But they told me afterwards that she loved it.” The portrait is made of 100% Swarovski crystal and sends rainbows around the room. Rihanna has spent a fortune decorating her Los Angeles home, which features a gun-shaped chandelier and a Bob Marley tribute painting in her red, yellow and green “reggae room.”

Atlanta rapper commends Short Dog on his beef-free career and way with the ladies. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Too $hort Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News No doubt 2 Chainz is the hottest underground rapper in the streets right now, so when he threw a nod to rap legend Too $hort on Rick Ross’ “F— Em,” it proved that the ATL spitter’s hip-hop ties were deep-rooted. “Dad wasn’t around; my father figure was Too $hort,” 2 Chainz spit when he appeared on Rozay’s Rich Forever mixtape. So when Chainz and Short Dog appeared on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live,” they shared quite a moment. It was $hort’s 1988 album Life Is … Too $hort that provided 2 Chainz with his earliest musical memories after he sent someone much older than him to the store to buy the explicit CD LP for him. “I remember being in the neighborhood and all the other kids’ parents thought I was bad because I was tryin’ to get them to get on that,” 2 Chainz said. 2 Chainz went on to praise $hort for his beef-free career as well as his way with the ladies. “I can only imagine why $hort has never had beef with nobody,” 2 Chainz told “RapFix” host Sway Calloway. “He’s a straight-up businessman. He got a savvy and it is about the women. And at the end of the day, it’s about getting your money.” Getting money is something 2 Chainz knows plenty about. His current single, “Spend It,” is a lyrical celebration of life’s excesses. Industry insiders expect Chainz to go on to cash even bigger checks once he signs with one of the major labels that have been pursuing him. “I’m coming up to New York to have a few finalized meetings,” 2 Chainz said about his plans for next week. Chainz is also headlining his first major NYC show at SOB’s on Monday and will stop by “RapFix Live” next Wednesday. Related Videos ‘RapFix Live’ With Bow Wow And Too $hort

Actor who plays Ron Swanson tells MTV News that ‘the evil Tammy Two’ returns in the fall. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Nick Offerman in “Parks and Recreation” Photo: NBC As the latest season of “Parks and Recreation” rolls along, fans of the quirky NBC comedy have been rooting for the show’s leading lady, Leslie Knope, as she tries to win the hearts of the folks in Pawnee, Indiana, by running for a spot on the city council. But Leslie isn’t having all the fun. Pawnee’s resident curmudgeon, Ron Swanson (played by Nick Offerman), is finding himself caught up in an unexpected friendship with the always-optimistic government star Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe). As always, Swanson is working to make sure government doesn’t run smoothly, and of course he faces the possibility that one of his ex-wives could show up and bring their own brand of trouble to his life. “If we can help it,” Offerman told MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival when asked if there would be a chance to bring back one of his character’s former wives, both named Tammy (one played by his real-life wife, Megan Mullally, and the other by Oscar nominee Patricia Clarkson ). “I know that there’s one juicy story coming up in the fall for Tammy Two, the evil Tammy Two [Mullally].” But until then, Offerman, offscreen, will be wearing another hat. He recently wrote one of the show’s upcoming episodes, and in addition to some more Knope-related election excitement there will also be a shakeup in his character’s romantic life. “Oh gosh. It was so fun and exciting and crazy. The episode is called ‘Lucky.’ Leslie Knope gets this really lucky interview with sort of the Anderson Cooper of Indianapolis. But then the interview is canceled and it comes back on, and some hilarity ensues,” he explained. “Meanwhile, Ron Swanson and Chris Traeger are vying for the attentions of Andy Dwyer’s women’s studies college professor. It’s very funny.”
