Jay-Z Vows To Be Hands-On Dad, In GQ

Hov named King of the Year in mag’s upcoming ‘Men of the Year’ issue. By Rob Markman Jay-Z in the December issue of GQ Photo: Nathaniel Goldberg/GQ Jay-Z seems to excel at everything he tries. As a rapper, Jigga’s track record is impeccable and his accomplishments as a businessman have kept Hov hovering around the top of various Forbes lists for almost 10 years now. But how will Jay, who seems to do so many things so well fare at fatherhood? It’s a topic the mogul tackles in a cover story in GQ magazine’s “Men of the Year” issue. “Providing — that’s not love,” Jay says. ” Being there — that’s more important. I mean, we see that. We see that with all these rich socialites. They’re crying out for attention; they’re hurting for love. I’m not being judgmental — I’m just making an observation,” Jay, who was anointed the mag’s King of the Year, tells writer Alex Pappademas. “They’re crying out for the love that maybe they didn’t get at home, and they got everything, all the material things that they need and want. So we know that’s not the key.” The soon to be 42-year-old rapper graces the cover of the December issue, which hit newsstands on November 22, wearing a black suit, a matching skinny tie and sporting a grin. It’s a familiar look for Jigga, but the feature story reveals someone new: Big Poppa Jay. The Roc Nation boss’ complex relationship with his absentee dad factors into his own views on becoming a papi, and it’s a topic he tackled on his 2000 The Dynasty album (“Where Have You Been”), his ’03 “retirement” LP The Black Album (“December 4” and “Moment of Clarity”) and, most recently, on “New Day,” a standout track off of his and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne. On “New Day,” the duo rap hypothetically about fatherhood, except that now for Jay, life will imitate art. When the Throne wrote the song, Jay explains to GQ that he and wife Beyonc

Herman “Big Daddy” Cain Gets A Little Backup From Wife Gloria: “He’d Have To Have A Split Personality To Do Those Things”

Herman Cain’s wife Gloria finally got her closeup, and it sounds like she used most of it to help her husband’s credibility. Herman Cain’s wife says the claims of sex harassment against the GOP presidential candidate don’t ring true because he “totally respects women.” Gloria Cain told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren: “I’m thinking he would have to have a split personality to do the things that were said.” In an interview to be aired Monday during the show “On the Record,” Gloria Cain said she can’t believe the claims he harassed women when he led the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s. “You hear the graphic allegations and we know that would have been something that’s totally disrespectful of her as a woman,” she said. “And I know the type of person he is. He totally respects women.” Excerpts of the interview were released Sunday. Four women have now accused Herman Cain of sexually harassing them when he led the National Restaurant Association. He has denied wrongdoing and has been trying to move forward in his presidential campaign. Cain’s wife of 43 years is often described as “gentle” and “the nicest woman you’ll ever meet.” The two were married in 1968, have two adult children — a daughter, Melanie, and a son, Vincent — and grandchildren. We’ve covered enough political sex scandals to know plenty of these turkeys DO have split personalities and are doing things their wives would never imagine. That said, do you think Gloria is right about her husband or slightly delusional? Source More On Bossip! What Did WE Do?! Single Black Men That Seem To Have Given Up On The Sistahs Who Upgraded? Jonah Hill Has ‘Love’ For Tyler, The Creator

Catch the ‘beatsmith’-turned-actor talking hip-hop and more tonight on ‘MTV First: The Sitter’ at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com! By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Jonah Hill Photo: MTV News We’ve known Jonah Hill for years now. We first chatted with the guy back in 2005, when he was a little-known actor about to take on his first starring role in “Accepted.” But not until we sat down with Hill for a live stream event called “MTV First: The Sitter” — we’re just hours away from the premiere on MTV and MTV.com at 7:56 p.m. ET — did we learn that before he made it to the big screen, the actor was exploring a different artistic path — one that owed more to ’90s hip-hop acts than to comedians of that era. “I made beats,” Hill told us with a smile. “I was a beatsmith.” Hip-hop wasn’t exactly going to be a career for the “Sitter” star but he was a huge fan of Gang Starr, Nas and Jay-Z, and his love for the genre remains. Now that Hill’s pumping out comedies like “Superbad” and “Get Him to the Greek,” he’s found himself involved with the hip-hop community. In September, while filming “Neighborhood Watch” with Ben Stiller, the two actors jetted off for a meet-up with T.I. “Stiller and I went to go visit T.I. in his music studio in Atlanta,” Hill said. “We thought it was going to be this big party. It was just a bunch of dudes listening to music.” What’s more, Hill also has a burgeoning friendship with Odd Future member and 2011 VMA Best New Artist winner Tyler, the Creator , and the duo are itching to work together.”When are we collaborating on the greatest project ever?” Hill recently tweeted at him. “Let me direct a video for you and then we’ll make it a full movie!” “I love Tyler. He’s awesome,” Hill explained in the interview with MTV News. To check out all of Hill’s thoughts on hip-hop, as well as some hilarious tales from the set of “The Sitter,” tune in to our live-stream event on MTV and MTV.com tonight at 7:56 p.m. After Hill introduces a never-before-seen clip from the upcoming comedy, which hits theaters on December 9, the interview will continue online for over 30 minutes. D-List Hearbreak: Gloria Govan Has Finally Accepted That She And Matt Are Never Getting Back Together

This, ladies and gents, is the part of the healing and grieving process known as “anger,” and, of course, it comes after “denial.” Gloria Govan was recently asked about her break-up and Matt moving on to a bigger, badder, more Mexican version of her . And apparently, even though both Matt and Eva Longoria have denied that they are bumping uglies or even sharing romantic meals , it seems like the idea of him keeping it moving was all it took for her to get over hopes of a reconciliation. “I’m not sure if I think they’re rumors. I think at this point having been with Matt, I don’t really put anything past him. He hasn’t directly said, ‘I’m doing this. I’m doing that.’ I’ve heard from some sources that it could be a definite possibility,” Gloria told Sister 2 Sister . Gloria, who just moved out of the house she shared with her former fiancé last month, said she did take pause when hearing that Eva and Matt have been keeping company for at least that long. “Dang. I haven’t even been out of the house for a month,” said Gloria. “Those are the things that float around that start to get to you in your relationship. I know he denied it, but I don’t really know too much about that situation to say it’s not true, but I don’t know enough to say that it is. It wouldn’t surprise me.” Her anger is directed at more than just Matt and those dirty dog tendencies she keeps alluding to though. There’s some for the “Basketball Wives: L.A.” post-production team too. He asked me about that. That’s not how I said it. That was disrespectful. I’d re-edit that part. That’s not how I meant it,” she said about a moment caught on camera in which she seemed to declare her independence from Matt and casually said, “He can bounce.” “That was a heartfelt conversation between me and my sister. I was on the verge of tears. They didn’t show all that. That’s not how I feel. I actually kinda like him,” said Gloria, who admitted that the reality spotlight didn’t help things. “I think it definitely brought on added stress to our relationship. We’re filming five days a week for hours at a time. That brings on added drama and added stress. The show wasn’t the reason Matt and I have gone our separate ways, but it has added some unnecessary drama,” she said. Sure it wasn’t. Keep telling yourself that. Angry Gloria even threw a few shots at Eva Longoria in the interview. Gloria isn’t dating anyone new yet, but when she does return to the romantic playing field, she doesn’t plan to be suiting up with any other basketball players. “Someone who dates multiple players like in the same field is a groupie,” said Gloria, not specifically referring to co-star Draya Michele or Eva, the ex-wife of baller Tony Parker. “If you continue to date athletes, you’re going to be considered a groupie. At some point in time, you have to have respect for yourself and not dip into the same cookie jar. I know women who’ve dated different basketball players. I’m attracted to athletes, but I have enough respect for Matt not to date one of his colleagues,” she said. For some reason though, we’re sure she’ll be back to her old self soon. “At some point in time when I am starting to look to seriously date, it could be a celebrity or another athlete from another sport,” she said. Aaaw, poor Glo… Until that day comes, let’s all take a stroll down memory lane and help Gloria remember the good times in her near-marriage.

Justin Bieber: Compared to The Beatles in Billboard

Justin Bieber covers the latest issue of Billboard Magazine and is asked about his Christmas duet with Mariah Carey during the interview. “That was high,” he says of the notes hit. “But I grinded it out and we got it down.” It’s Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, who gets the most attention from this article, however. Read how he compare his client’s fame to The Beatles: “All the hype and the kids running down the street screaming, you lose the chance to say that this started because of the music. This album lets the music speak for itself. I don’t want to draw comparisons, but there was a band during the British Invasion that had girls screaming at them. I think you know who I’m talking about.” That’s high praise. Is Bieber worthy of it? Do you think he’ll have a bigger career than The Beatles?
