Robert Pattinson’s Not Suiting Up For ‘Daredevil’ … Yet

The ‘Water for Elephants’ star said he fears fanboy backlash when it comes to superhero movies. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Imagine Robert Pattinson in tights, fighting crime as an iconic character. While the heartthrob would undoubtedly have the Twihards lining up for days to see him play a superhero, he thinks there’s one set of moviegoers who wouldn’t be nearly as keen on the idea: fanboys! During Friday’s “MTV First: Robert Pattinson,” a live, 30-minute chat with the “Water for Elephants” star, RPattz revealed he would, in fact, take on a superhero role if it were presented to him. “I’d love [to] definitely.” But the actor does have some reservations about taking on the genre, including which superhero he would play. “I don’t know what superhero you’d do. Is there any left?” he asked. Robert did, however, admit that there’s one character he’d like to suit up for, but he gave pause when he realized what a stir he might cause by even mentioning it. “I shouldn’t even say this stuff, ’cause all the little fanboys will be like, ‘No! I’m gonna shoot him!’ ” he joked. So, while we may never know which character Robert is “such a big fan” of, we do know that he’s not yet in contention for the role of Matt Murdock in “Eclipse” director David Slade’s upcoming “Daredevil” reboot . “I don’t know where that one came from at all,” Robert said of the rumors that he was lined up to play the comic book vigilante. But, that wasn’t the only thing he found confusing about the future remake. When MTV News mentioned another “Daredevil” was in the works, Robert asked, “[That] Ben Affleck movie?” He then pondered with a laugh about the 2003 flick, “That’s weird, didn’t that only come out about three years ago?” The 24-year-old star did have some casting ideas of his own. “Get David Slade to play him,” Robert said of his former “Eclipse” director. “Oh no, he should play, who’s the bald guy? Bullseye!” Which superhero would you like to see Robert Pattinson play? Robert Pattinson Dishes On Awkward Love Scenes

‘Reese [Witherspoon] had this wig on, and literally, I was wiping my nose on her wig,’ RPattz says of scene in ‘Water for Elephants.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News We’ve heard Robert Pattinson talk about his love scenes before. “Lot of my crack in it!” he once laughed to us about what we can expect in the upcoming drama ” Bel Ami .” And we’ve even seen photographic evidence of his honeymoon boom-boom with Kristen Stewart in December’s first installment of ” Breaking Dawn .” But when it comes to Pattinson’s amorous encounters onscreen, his fans can never get enough. It’s no surprise then that one Twitter user submitted a question during “MTV First: Robert Pattinson” asking if the actor felt awkward doing love scenes with “Water for Elephants” co-star Reese Witherspoon. Awkward, no. Sick? Well, yes. “The love scene in this, I was doing it when I had a really bad cold,” Pattinson explained. “I’m not generally that awkward doing stuff apart from when I’ve got my belly coming out. But my nose is running all over the place and it was in one of the additional photography scenes, and Reese had this wig on, and literally, I was wiping my nose on her wig.” “We were doing this really passionate love scene,” he added with a giggle. “It was really stupid. I guess I’m not that awkward anymore.” The key with any love scene, Pattinson went on to make clear, is that it has to make sense within the context of the story. You can’t just get freaky in front of the camera because someone thinks it’ll boost ticket sales. “It always depends. You’ve got to really know what you’re doing. If it’s just a sort of arbitrary love scene, it’d be quite difficult,” he said. And what of his scene with Stewart in “Breaking Dawn,” the one we got an early, feather-filled glimpse of in January? Rob hesitated before saying simply, “The one on ‘Breaking Dawn’ is pretty funny.” Check out everything we’ve got on ” Water for Elephants .” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Robert Pattinson On His Leading Ladies: ‘I Like Hot Girls’

Actor gushes about Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Stewart and Uma Thurman, calling them ‘experienced and passionate people.’ By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson in “Water for Elephants” Photo: David James/FOX Given his otherworldly popularity, it seems as if any time Robert Pattinson appears in a film, the majority of the media attention and coverage focuses mainly on the man himself, not his various (and equally attractive) co-stars. As such, Pattinson’s lovely leading ladies are occasionally overlooked and likely find themselves constantly answering questions about the “Twilight” star and not the other way around. However, during our live interview with Pattinson on Friday (March 18), “MTV News First: Robert Pattinson,” we asked the actor to talk about his beautiful co-stars, beginning with Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon, who plays his love interest in the upcoming romance “Water for Elephants.” When asked whether he was intimidated by Witherspoon, given her award-winning career, Pattinson admitted that he was — but only for a few minutes. “Anyone who’s really famous and really great, it’s always going to be slightly intimidating,” he said. “But she has such a nice energy about her, and [the intimidation] is gone within the first couple of seconds.” Regarding his track record of lovely co-stars (Witherspoon, Kristen Stewart, Emile de Ravin in “Remember Me” and Uma Thurman in the upcoming film “Bel Ami”), Pattinson joked that he only works with lovely ladies. “I like hot girls,” he joked. “I like them. I like being in movies with lots of hot girls,” he said with a laugh, before getting serious to consider his current and former co-stars. “They’re all pretty different,” he said. “They’re all very strong, actually. I always end up being in movies with very experienced and passionate people. They’re never just flimsy floozies.” Who is your favorite RPattz leading lady? Let us know in the comments below! Bolitics As Usual: Guess Which Toupee’d Douchebag Is Questioning President Obama’s Birthplace Now???

C’mon seriously, who keeps turning on the microphone for this f*ckin’ fool? Donald Trump, the business mogul who continues to claim he is seriously interested in mounting a bid for the White House, says he has doubts about whether President Obama was born in the United States. Do you all really believe Obama is NOT an American citizen??? In an interview with ABC, Trump said he finds it strange “nobody knew” Obama as a young child in Hawaii. “Let me tell you, I’m a really smart guy. I was a really good student at the best school in the country. The reason I have a little doubt, just a little, is because he grew up and nobody knew him,” Trump said in the interview that aired Thursday. “If I got the nomination, if I decide to run, you may go back and interview people from my kindergarten. They’ll remember me. Nobody comes forward. Nobody knows who he is until later in his life. It’s very strange,” the Celebrity Apprentice host added. “The whole thing is very strange.” Current Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie has said he was a friend of Obama’s parents in Hawaii and remembers when the future president was born. Abercrombie, a former congressman who became governor last December, vowed to produce an original copy of Obama’s birth certificate but abandoned those efforts earlier this year because it is against state law to release private documents, according to his spokeswoman. In 2008, the Obama campaign produced a certification of live birth that reports his birthplace as Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended kindergarten there before moving to Jakarta, Indonesia with his stepfather at age six. Katherine Nakamoto, Obama’s kindergarten teacher, described the then-five-year old to the Maui News in 2009: “He was a cute, likable, heavy build-child. I could visualize Barry smiling, dressed in his long-sleeved, white shirt tucked into his brown Bermuda shorts, and wearing laced shoes.” Trump is REALLY reaching now, never in the history of attention whoring have we seen a man, a white one at that, be so thirsty for someone to look his way. Congrats sir, we’re all giving you a look…a side-eye… Source

Lady Gaga: Just Too Gay For Malaysia

Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” is just too provocative for Malaysians to hear. That’s what the government of the Southeast Asian nation decreed this week. The government there ordered radio stations to play an edited version of the hit song because its lyrics are an affront to Malaysia’s conservative values. So what exactly was so offensive? A refrain proclaiming “No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I’m on the right track, baby I was born this way,” makes it pretty clear … Little Monsters in Malaysia instead hear a jumble of indecipherable words due to the nation’s cultural restrictions on anything promoting an LGBT lifestyle. “‘ Born This Way ‘ may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia’s social and religious observances,” said the country’s AMP Radio Network. “The entire issue of being gay, lesbian or [bisexual] is still considered as a ‘taboo’ by general Malaysians.” Lady Gaga herself has yet to speak publicly about the “BTW” censorship, but given her recent fallout with Target , we don’t expect this news to go over well. It’s by telling our stories, sharing our experiences and really giving a first hand look at us as human beings [that shows] who we really are, apart from what we seem to be.” Her goal as a judge on this American Idol -like competition? To inspire contestants. ” The Voice isn’t about tearing people down. I want to bring people up. I want to empower them and give them all the tools I had. I love that I get to be apart of that.”

“Hold It Against Me” is a #1 hit. “Till the World Ends” is not far behind. Two additional tracks, “I Wanna Go” and “Inside Out” , leaked just last week. Both have drawn waves. The pop princess is back, baby. Britney Spears opens up to Rolling Stone in a fun new Q&A session. She talks a lot about her new album, Femme Fatale , as well as her home life. Some excerpts from her interview below … On the kids’ take on FF : “They definitely dance to it but they are still confused …. It’s like, ‘who is this Britney Spears singer in contrast to mommy?'” On her involvement in the process : “I have always been heavily involved in every album I have ever made. I’m very stubborn when it comes to recording and will only record songs I love, which is why it takes me a long time to make an album.” “I have to feel connected before I record and the song has to spark something inside me. Very few songs do that. I guess it’s a good process because I love all my music. I know there are a lot of artists that hate songs they recorded.” On the sound of Femme Fatale: “I wanted to make a fresh-sounding album for the clubs or something that you play in your car when you’re going out at night that gets you excited but I wanted it to sound different from everything else out right now.” “I also wanted to experiment with all the different types of music I love which is why you hear a mixture of pop, hip-hop and dance throughout.” On what she listens to at home : “I love the Peas but I also love Deadmau5. I guess I’m all over the place. Lately I have been listening to Robyn and Adele non-stop but I also love to find new artists that very few people know about.” On working with will.i.am : “The Peas make incredibly catchy, fun pop/dance records and I LOVE will.i.am’s style. I have always wanted to do a song with him and would love to work with him more in the future. He is so interesting.” On working with Dr. Luke : “We have known each other for a long time. Most people don’t know this but we worked together when I was recording Blackout . He was incredible back then and he has only gotten better over the years.” Here’s Britney’s latest efforts from the new record … Britney Spears – I Wanna Go Britney Spears – Inside Out

Rihanna Talks Curves In Vogue

‘I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book,’ star says. By Jocelyn Vena Rihanna on the April cover of Vogue Photo: Vogue Donning a sparkly nude gown and cascading red curls, Rihanna graces the cover of the April “shape issue” of Vogue. In the magazine, she opens up about her changing style, which has evolved from generic pop star to flame-haired pop icon. She admits that even before her chart-topping days, she always wanted to stand out from the crowd. “When I was fourteen and first started going out, I always wanted to be the opposite of everyone else,” she explained in the interview. “So I would go to the club in a polo T-shirt and pants and sneakers and a hat on backward, just so I would not be dressed like other girls. And I got desperate for things that weren’t available in Barbados. I would cut things out of magazines. I was obsessed with creating a visual with clothing, and the way things are combined.” Rihanna admits that now, like then, it’s always about taking it to the next level when it comes to the visual component of her persona. “It’s become more about taking a risk. When I am putting looks together, I dare myself to make something work. I always look for the most interesting silhouette or something that’s a little off, but I have to figure it out. I have to make it me,” she said. “I think that’s the thrill in fashion.” The first big step came when she made the transition with her hair, going from soft, standard pop styling to the now-infamous choppy short ‘do she rocked in the “Umbrella” video. She said, “When I cut my hair, the whole sound changed, my style changed.” Given that she appears in the “shape issue,” Rihanna also talked about her famous va-va-voom figure, admitting that she only recently began to appreciate it. “Over the holidays, and even during filming [“Battleship”], I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book. I just feel sexy. For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up,” she said. “My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it.” Related Photos Rihanna Takes You To Paradise In Vogue Related Artists Rihanna
