Earlier in the day, he made headlines when he had a public meltdown backstage after his interview with “Good Morning America,” but by the time the party started, Brown just wanted to redirect the energy to his album. “It was good. There was nothing but girls in there,” DJ Juanyto, who was at the party, told MTV News. “He came onstage, no Hollywoodness. He took all that energy from everyone and started performing. It was dope. No type of negativity. He was really positive. It was really dope.” Brown also performed at the gathering, bringing out pals like Bow Wow, Waka Flocka Flame and Lloyd Banks. E! News reports that the star alluded to his earlier drama, saying, “I wasn’t gonna perform tonight, but f— it! A lot of whack sh– happened today.” Juanyto confirmed that Brown alluded to the media drama, but he said Brown also added, “I’m really here for my fans.” “After he performed, he went up to the balcony and was partying,” Juanyto said. “He came back downstairs and he brought out Lloyd and got into a reggae dance competition with the audience. He’s really all about the fans. There was no drama whatsoever. When he’s around his fans, he has all that love. He’s really all about interacting with his fans.” Brown stayed at the party for about two hours and made sure that the focus stayed on his fan appreciation. “He just really was all about his fans,” Juanyto added. “He really made sure he spent all of his time with them, and he thanked them for coming out. He said, ‘I don’t care how you get the album, as long as you have it, I appreciate it.’ ” Related Videos Chris Brown’s Epic Album Release Day Related Photos The Ups And Downs Of Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. Chris Brown has been invited back to appear on “Good Morning America” after smashing a window in his dressing room after an appearance on the show yesterday. Brown reportedly broke the window after being asked repeatedly about assaulting Rihanna in 2009. “I wish him the absolute best,” Robin Roberts said on “Good Morning America” today. “We extended the invitation to him [to come back], and sure hope he takes us up on it because I’d sure love to have another chat with him.” Roberts, who was also one of the first to interview Brown after the assault, says that she informed Brown of the questions she was going to ask him in advance of the interview. Brown approved the questions . “Any time we have a guest, we let them know ahead of time the subject matter and the topics. And even right before the interview I let him know,” Roberts said on air this morning. “I was shocked like everyone else, because we’ve had a wonderful relationship. I’ve been to his home, he’s very gracious, and we’ve had easy conversation.” Roberts also says that Brown is considering the invitation. Lady Gaga To Direct ‘Judas’ Video With Laurieann Gibson

During Google fan interview, the pop star also talks about Born This Way cut inspired by the death of her grandfather. By James Dinh Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage As promised, Lady Gaga joined forces with Google on Tuesday to answer a string of fan-generated questions for an hour-long interview posted on YouTube called “Musicians@Google Presents: Google Goes Gaga.” While the pop star dished on a range of topics, including her upcoming album, Born This Way, and aspiring-singers-turned-viral-YouTube stars (yes, she mentioned Rebecca Black), the most exciting news she shared with her fans was that she’ll be directing the video for her next single “Judas” alongside creative director Laurieann Gibson. “I’m very excited. Actually, I can exclusively reveal here at Google that I will be making my directorial debut with Laurieann Gibson, directing this video with her ourselves,” the singer said to the cheers of the interview’s live audience. Keeping in line with the song’s title, Mother Monster also admitted that the clip will include religious imagery. “It’s no surprise, I’m sure, to many of you, that Judas is a man of the biblical senses, so expect to see some symbolism in this video,” she said. Gaga also gave fans a taste of the club track’s lyrics by offering a few lines from the song. “When he comes to me, I am ready/ I’ll wash his feet with my hair if he needs/ Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain/ Even after three times, he betrays me/ I’ll bring him down, a king with no crown,” she recited. Gaga explained that “Judas,” which she produced along with RedOne, talks about confronting one’s demons. “You have to look into what is haunting you and you need to look into forgiving yourself in order to move on,” she said. “And it’s really fun to dance to and sounds like it could be a pop priest record.” She also described a track off her “avant-garde techno rock” LP called “Edge of Glory.” Recalling the loss of her grandfather last year, Gaga revealed that she wrote the tune at an emotional moment at the piano while taking tequila shots with her father. “The song’s about your last moment on Earth, the moment of truth. The edge of glory is that moment right before you leave the Earth,” she said. Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga

Nate Dogg’s Death Was ‘A Crushing Blow,’ Warren G Says

‘I’m hurting,’ Warren tells MTV News after raucous SXSW tribute to late friend. By James Montgomery Kurupt and Warren G Photo: MTV News On Saturday night at South by Southwest, Warren G , Daz, Kurupt and Snoop Dogg paid homage to their late friend Nate Dogg with a raucous tribute show that celebrated the music of a man who lived every day to the fullest. And while the mood onstage was definitely joyous — the quartet performed many of the songs Nate leant his voice to, in a poignant tribute to his talents — backstage at Austin’s Venue 222, things were much more muted. In fact, when Warren G spoke to MTV News about his late cohort, he didn’t hide the fact that he (and everyone who ever knew Nate Dogg) was still hurting inside. In fact, starting with the moment he heard the news of Nate’s passing, things have been far from normal. “I was out on the Sweat Tour with Snoop, and we had got the word from his family on what was going on, and it was just a crushing blow for us,” Warren said. “Just, from going to see him and lifting his spirits up when he was in therapy, and stuff like that, it’s just crazy for that to happen. And I still don’t believe it, you know what I’m saying? “It kind of hurts me when I look at this shirt [the organizers of the SXSW tribute show sold Nate Dogg T-shirts, with proceeds going to the late singer’s family], it’s like, ‘Damn, that’s my homeboy on this shirt,’ ” he continued. “And I’m hurting, and you know, a lot of people are showing tons of support for his family, for his homeboys, and we really and truly appreciate that. It’s real love.” And though they took the stage that night with a heavy heart, Warren and his cohorts also did it knowing that their friend was with them in spirit, and that by honoring his music, they were also honoring a man they all knew and loved. “It means a lot, you know, because this is something that’s being done for a person that we really love. It’s deeper than music, that’s a brother to us, to me and Kurupt and Snoop and Daz … it’s really deeper than that,” he said. “I mean, like, I’m not a psychic or a genie or a gypsy or anything, but I know deep down in my heart he’s around us, he’s with us … he’s with us in spirit. Everything we do, he’s a part of it.” Related Photos 2011 SXSW Music Festival Nate Dogg: A Life In Photos Related Artists Nate Dogg Warren G

Robert Pattinson’s MTV Live Chat: Everything He Said About ‘Twilight’

From ‘Breaking Dawn’ to leading lady Kristen Stewart, RPattz was an open book. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Robert Pattinson likes his leading ladies “hot,” thinks his “Breaking Dawn” love scene with Kristen Stewart is “funny” and looks back at his first “Twilight” red carpet and thinks, “I looked like an old alcoholic.” Yes, we ranged far and wide across the “Twilight” universe on Friday night during “MTV First: Robert Pattinson,” a 30-minute live chat with the 24-year-old star. In fact, we hit so many topics of interest to fans of the vampire franchise that we’ve gathered them all on one page. Consider this a Twi-cheat sheet: everything Pattinson had to say about the series: On Kristen Stewart While Rob drew a line of comparison between his “Twilight” co-star and other leading ladies with whom he’s shared the screen — “I like being in movies with lots of hot girls,” he laughed — he also pointed out how different he is from Stewart . “I like the kind of cerebral aspect of things, and she has kind of an immediate emotional response to stuff every single time,” he said about making various acting choices. “She’s like, ‘Why can’t you understand? It’s obvious. You don’t know. You shouldn’t be an actor!’ ” Unsurprisingly, the duo’s upcoming “Breaking Dawn” love scene — which we got a peek at in a photo earlier this year — also cropped up during the conversation. “You’ve got to really know what you’re doing. If it’s just a sort of arbitrary love scene, it’d be quite difficult,” he explained. “The one on ‘Breaking Dawn’ is pretty funny.” On “Breaking Dawn” Of all the new talent joining the franchise, 10-year-old Mackenzie Foy , who plays Edward and Bella’s daughter , is the one everyone has an eye on. “She’s a great actress. She’s really sweet,” Pattinson told us. “She has to do a hard part as well, because she’s doing — I don’t want to get into special-effects stuff — but she’s playing a baby in some scenes. Oh, man, some of the stuff is so strange. I mean, we’ve done very strange things on the ‘Breaking Dawn’ shoot.” Rob also dished a bit about the musical aspects of the upcoming films, shooting down a rumor that he’ll sing a lullaby but revealing he will show off some of his musical abilities . “I did play some piano. I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be secret,” he said. “I was very impressed. I hadn’t played piano in years, and I learned it in about 10 seconds.” On Revisiting the Past While we had Rob live and in studio, we couldn’t help but flash back to our first-ever “Twilight” interview back in the spring of 2008. Though much time has passed, Pattinson said that now, much like then, he still can’t quite grasp the full breadth of Twi-mania. What has changed, he added, is how he acts during interviews. “I never got that I was supposed to be talking about ‘Twilight.’ I thought I had to be funny all the time and that’s it,” he said. But he doesn’t regret trying to be the always-on funnyman. Looking back on the last few years, Pattinson told us he really has just one regret . “I wouldn’t have worn the suit I wore for the first ‘Twilight’ premiere. It was too small,” he said. “I was also a little bit nervous, so I had a couple of drinks beforehand. I look like an old alcoholic.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
