Tyrese Talks Twitter, New Movies, Book And Album On The Cover Of JET Magazine

Read the original here:

Singer, actor and now author, Tyrese Gibson, caught up with the editors of JET magazine recently where he discussed topics like his upcoming roles in Fast Five (apart of the Fast and the Furious series) and another Transformers movie which are both scheduled to hit theaters this summer. Tyrese also spoke about his new album which is set to his stores this year and even his first book, “How to Get Out of Your Own Way”, which is set to hit bookstores this April. Looks like Tyrese has been pretty busy lately! The 32-year old also had time to do a full length interview and although all of the Q&A session did not make the magazine, we’ve got the scoop on the interview outtakes below. When Asked why he tweets about God so much : “It’s overwhelming. I’ve actually had people to say, ‘Man this dude talk about God so much, I’m-a unfollow.’ He don’t supposed to follow me. If you don’t want me talking about God, this is my Twitter page, it’s my timeline, I can shout out the man, I can shout out my source as much as I want to. Period. And at the end of the day, I feel like so many people are inspired and motivated by my story and my career and whatever else, I’m giving people an understanding that I didn’t make it this far in my life on talent alone. I’m a thinking man. I’m a God-fearing man. I recognize that God has blessed me and ordered my footsteps, but I’m also saying to everybody, “I’m doing the work.” Like, ain’t nobody given me nothing. Period. And so, I look at Twitter as me saying Thank you to all of my fans.” When asked why he doesn’t edit himself on Twitter: “It’s not something that I purposely do. It’s not coming from a space of rebellion. I just really want people to know some of the things I know. I’ve had people say, ‘I was a big fan of yours, but me loving you just went to a whole other level because of the things that you write and the things that you speak.’ And so, unfortunately this is a town and Hollywood in particular, where people can fall in love with who you appear to be, the surface, right? But then when they get off camera, there’s somebody completely the opposite.” When asked how he stays hungry: “I live my life by these words: ‘You can’t get points today for yesterday’s game.’ You won MVP last week, OK, get over it. It’s like, there’s another level to this thing and people like Will Smith and Denzel and Rev Run and … and like I got a few billion-dollar friends and multi-billion friends … these people have really messed up from showing me this life and lifestyle because I know that there’s a-whole-nother level of playing field out there that I can get to. Now, people get complacent – and I know if you leave this in there, it’s just gonna shake people up – people stop being inspired when they have more than all of their friends. If you do that, then you lose your motivation, because you the highest dude on your playing field. Gotta love that Tyrese.. and his tweets.. Read the rest over at JET. Chris Brown Parts Ways With Rep After ‘Good Morning America’ Incident

Tammy Brook reportedly left singer’s camp on Friday. By James Montgomery Chris Brown appears on “Good Morning America” on Monday Photo: ABC News The fallout from Chris Brown’s post-“Good Morning America” outburst continued on Friday (March 25), when The New York Post ‘s Page Six reported that the singer has parted ways with his publicist, Tammy Brook. Brook, who also reps athletes like Mike Tyson and Chris Bosh, could not be reached for comment by the newspaper, but according to other reports , she “quit” the job. A source tells MTV News that the decision was mutual, but regardless, the news caps off a tumultuous week for Brown, who allegedly smashed a window at ABC’s Times Square studios following his interview with Robin Roberts, in which she repeatedly brought up his 2009 assault on then girlfriend Rihanna and the subsequent legal drama that followed. Brown then reacted to the interview in a (since deleted) tweet that read, “I’m so over people bringing this past sh– up!!! Yet we praise Charlie Sheen and other celebs for [their] bullsh–.” That interview occurred on Tuesday, the same day Brown dropped his F.A.M.E. album, and hours before he was set to appear on MTV’s “The Seven” to premiere his brand-new video for the single “Beautiful People,” an appearance he subsequently canceled. Later that night, at his album release party, Brown was reportedly in great spirits . He has also apologized for the “GMA” incident , saying on BET’s “106 & Park” that he was “disappointed in the way [he] acted.” All that drama hasn’t affected his album sales, though. According to Billboard, Brown’s F.A.M.E. album is set to debut atop the albums chart next week, with projected sales of 250,000-300,000 copies. Chris Brown Had ‘No Drama’ At F.A.M.E. Release Party

DJ Juanyto tells MTV News the singer was ‘all about his fans’ at post-‘GMA’ party. By Jocelyn Vena Chris Brown attends his F.A.M.E. album release party on Tuesday in New York City Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage On Tuesday night, Chris Brown was in great spirits as he partied alongside fans at his F.A.M.E. record-release party at New York’s Webster Hall. Earlier in the day, he made headlines when he had a public meltdown backstage after his interview with “Good Morning America,” but by the time the party started, Brown just wanted to redirect the energy to his album. “It was good. There was nothing but girls in there,” DJ Juanyto, who was at the party, told MTV News. “He came onstage, no Hollywoodness. He took all that energy from everyone and started performing. It was dope. No type of negativity. He was really positive. It was really dope.” Brown also performed at the gathering, bringing out pals like Bow Wow, Waka Flocka Flame and Lloyd Banks. E! News reports that the star alluded to his earlier drama, saying, “I wasn’t gonna perform tonight, but f— it! A lot of whack sh– happened today.” Juanyto confirmed that Brown alluded to the media drama, but he said Brown also added, “I’m really here for my fans.” “After he performed, he went up to the balcony and was partying,” Juanyto said. “He came back downstairs and he brought out Lloyd and got into a reggae dance competition with the audience. He’s really all about the fans. There was no drama whatsoever. When he’s around his fans, he has all that love. He’s really all about interacting with his fans.” Brown stayed at the party for about two hours and made sure that the focus stayed on his fan appreciation. “He just really was all about his fans,” Juanyto added. “He really made sure he spent all of his time with them, and he thanked them for coming out. He said, ‘I don’t care how you get the album, as long as you have it, I appreciate it.’ ” Related Videos Chris Brown’s Epic Album Release Day Related Photos The Ups And Downs Of Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E.
