Teri Hatcher: Is She Really Homeless and Suicidal?

Teri Hatcher starred on Desperate Housewives and Lois and Clark: The Adventures of Superman . She's been on commercials. She even guest starred on Supergirl last year. But a new report came out, claiming that she's broke, living out of her van, and possibly suicidal. Could it be? In the video below, you'll see an interviewer sit down with Teri to learn the truth. On Thursday, Teri Hatcher sat down — on International Women's Day , no less — to explain how the explosive report about her current living situation came to be. “The way this works is: a couple of weeks ago, the magazine reached out to my publicist to say: 'We have the paparazzi photos of Teri at the beach.'” Specifically, the photos were of her, in and beside a van. “Which, by the way, I was filming a drive-by for my show. You know, we have the van driving around Los Angeles. And we were doing some beach drive-bys. They looked beautiful.” She has a YouTube series in which she travels in a van and sits down with people to talk. She continues: “So they had these photos of me being in the van, and they said they were going to run this story about me being broke — and I think they used the word 'suicidal' and 'homeless' and whatever.” She says that her representatives shut that down. “And my lawyer and my publicist said 'that's categorically not true, you can't print that; she's doing a YouTube show, that's her van. She has many homes in many states all over the country. There's nothing about this that's true.'” In fact, if you were to look up Hatcher's estimated net worth, you'd find that she's worth approximately $50 million. “And then they went and ran it anyway.” Oh wow. “And that is even more egregious that it was so purposefully hurtful.” She says that there's more to this than people may have realized. She says that the story about her is part of a sexist narrative that tabloid exploit. “Again, the reason that it's important for me to talk about it is because, you know, also on that cover was a picture of Sharon Stone.” She gets into that context and talks about why it's important. “A beautiful picture of Sharon Stone. Tripping, I guess, on a curb, like many people do.” Again, that's tripping on a curb, physically, not tripping balls , pharmaceutically. (The city streets where I live are old and I trip on them a lot) “And the caption was 'Near 60 Sharon Stone Collapses.'” Oh my. She talks about what these two stories playing out on the same cover made her think. “And it just made me think, you know, as actresses age, as women age in our society, magazines like this are fostering a culture of disrespect.” Some might argue that magazines are just using an existing culture of disrespect — of misogyny and of ageism — in order to sell themselves. “Of trying to take down and take away the power of women who have accomplished a lot in their careers.” That's so sad. But Teri says that she won't be silenced. “Who have a lot still to say.” When she shared a behind-the-scenes photo of her interview, Teri spoke triumphantly in the captions: “Getting the last laugh on #internationalwomensday. We all deserve a society where women of all ages are respected, and that can start with not accepting lies on the cover of a magazine.” She's absolutely right. Women deserve respect. There are plenty of stars who squandered millions or even tens of millions. Teri, however, is not one of them. Watch her interview here:

Taraji P. Henson DESTROYS Ryan Seacrest on Red Carpet

There were not many surprises at the 90th annual Academy Awards on Sunday night . As expected, The Shape of Water won Best Picture and Frances McDormand won Best Actress, for example. But the real action took place ahead of the annual show, as E! decided to let Ryan Seacrest interview celebrities on the red carpet… … despite some sexual harassment allegations having been leveled against the omnipresent host. (A former stylist claims Seacrest made inappropriate remarks at her and took inappropriate actions with her, such as pushing her head toward his crotch at one point.) Seacrest did not land nearly as many pre-Oscars interviews as normal, with many stars shunning him on the red carpet out of respect for the #MeToo movement. But Taraji P. Henson did choose to speak to Seacrest. And she also chose to destroy him on live television. After being asked a question by Seacrest, Henson smirked at the possibly shady man in front of her and replied: “The universe has a way of taking care of taking care of good people,” she said, as she touched the E! host on the chin. “You know what I mean?” Seacrest said that he agreed, while social media unanimously agreed that Henson had just completely torched Seacrest on his very own show. A few users pointed to Henson giving Seacrest a hug after the interview as proof that they are no hard feelings. And Henson later told People Magazine, amidst chatter that she dissed Seacrest during their chat, specifically with the way she touched his face: “I did it to keep his chin up. It’s an awkward position to be in. He’s been cleared but anyone can say anything.” Later, Seacrest addressed the situation on Twitter, writing that he had “nothing but love for his friend” and thanking her for “hanging out with us on the E! Kim Zolciak is a wife, a mother of six, and a reality star. She’s also nearly 40 years old, if you can believe it. Check out her makeup-free selfie below. There’s the reality star without makeup! We don’t mean for this to be a backhanded compliment at all, but Kim Zolciak looks beautiful for a woman who is very nearly 40. She also looks beautiful, period . A lot of reality stars like to only show their most carefully manicured selves for the camera — their appearances are key to their brands, folks. But while that’s absolutely their right, it’s refreshing to be reminded of how gorgeous they can look without makeup. For contrast, here’s a look at Kim Zolciak, all made up for an interview. Kim shared this behind-the-scenes photo with an explanatory caption, reflecting upon her life. “Interview days — my favorite actually! I can’t believe I have been on [television emoji] 10 yrs! WOW” That’s a whole decade of branding, folks. Most reality stars don’t last that long. “It’s been so incredible! I’ve learned so much about me, met the love of my entire life, had babies on TV, …” She contonues her list, including some low points. “Had surgeries on TV, cried on TV, laughed on TV, got married on TV, moved 3 times on TV, had my first baby graduate on TV, my second baby be sneaky on TV …” That list of milestones turned into something of a callout post for Ariana Biermann, huh? No, but that really is an incredible list. (Here we see Kim Zolciak topless at the beach on Instagram, which is notably absent from her list of milestones but sitll worth mentioning) Kim Zolciak then goes on to say that everything has transpired exactly as she foresaw as a teenager. “I wrote my story in my teens in my journal and it said exactly what I have done for these last 10 [years]!” Very few people can say the same. The mother of six then goes on to share what she believes to be the secret (or maybe The Secret ) to her success. “What you think you create. What you believe you receive! The power of our words is really something magnificent. Try it!!” That’s … helpful from a personal motivation perspective, but kind of a bold claim. “Negative self talk is still talk, what you speak comes back to you 10 folds like a boomerang! Try it!!! Speak something you dream of into existence!” Say what you will about that being New Age nonsense or about how you’ve been dreaming of world domination since you were 4 years old but have yet to become the benevolent despot you know you were born to be, but … things tend to work out for Kim. Obviously, her life isn’t perfect — her young son Kash survived a(n accidental) dog bite last year that sent the family and fans into a panic. And she’s been sidelined recently on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, reduced to a mere “friend of the Housewives.” Reports had her allegedly begging to be a real Real Housewife again . (She still had Don’t Be Tardy , but that doesn’t have the audience reach or the major paychecks of the Real Housewives franchise) But maybe there’s something to Kim Zolciak’s whole “speak things into being” thing, because she’s reportedly replacing Kenya Moore . We’ll see. Kim Zolciak was born on May 19th, 1978. This May, she will be 40. TV career aside, she’s accomplished a lot — she has six children, and her oldest daughter just turned 21. ( Brielle got a gun for her birthday , which was awkward af for a lot of reasons, but Brielle knows that) How much more will she have done — with her family and her career — by the time that she turns 50? She might be a grandmother by then (zero pressure to Brielle or Ariana, though). Good odds are that Kim will still look like a total MILF, with or without makeup, in a decade. Lena Dunham Reveals She Had a Hysterectomy in Heartbreaking Essay

A lot of people don’t really care for Lena Dunham, and they don’t care for her for a number of reasons. Those reasons are all very valid, but one admirable thing about Lena is that she’s always been ready and willing to talk about her endometriosis. Endometriosis is no joke — it can cause debilitating pain and it affects millions of women — but it’s still pretty misunderstood, and there’s not as much research happening on it as there should be. Women who have the disease are often brushed off by being told that they’re simply being dramatic about their periods when really it’s so much more than that. As Lena revealed in an essay she just wrote for Vogue, it can actually change your entire life. If you’re serious about your celebrity gossip, there’s a good chance that you’ve heard about Lena’s endometriosis before. She’s had multiple surgeries to try to combat the symptoms — which for her have mostly seem to be lots and lots of pain — and last spring, she had to leave the Met Gala to be hospitalized for complications . In this new essay, she explains that a few months ago, she had yet another surgery: a hysterectomy . “In August, the pain becomes unbearable,” she writes. “I am delirious with it, and the doctors can’t really explain. The ultrasound shows no cysts, no free fluid, and certainly no baby.” She says that from then until November she tried to “manage this new level of pain,” and that she tried several different kinds of therapy, as well as acupuncture and yoga, to try to find some relief. “Finally I ask my doctor if my uterus needs to come out,” she recalls. “She says, ‘Let’s wait and see.'” After two days of waiting and seeing, Lena says that she checked herself into a hospital and told doctors that she either wanted a hysterectomy or a solution to her pain. As you could imagine, it took a while for her to convince the hospital staff that she actually did want her uterus removed, and that she understood everything that entailed. She even wrote an essay on the topic for the doctors, in which she at one point referred to herself as “someone who hurts too much to express themselves, who can’t help but be a nuisance at best and a terror at worst.” After having her therapist write her doctors a letter, and after having a few sessions with a therapist selected by her doctors, she underwent a different surgical procedure — and when that didn’t work, she says that her request for a hysterectomy was finally taken seriously. After the surgery was completed, she writes “I wake up surrounded by family and doctors eager to tell me I was right. My uterus is worse than anyone could have imagined. It’s the Chinatown Chanel purse of nightmares, full of both subtle and glaring flaws.” “In addition to endometrial disease, an odd humplike protrusion, and a septum running down the middle, I have had retrograde bleeding, a.k.a. my period running in reverse, so that my stomach is full of blood.” She also says that her ovary was positioned on nerves in her back, and “let’s please not even talk about my uterine lining.” Now, a few months after her hysterectomy, she says that she’s healing nicely, though she does have a bit of a limp. “My mind, my spirit, are another story,” she says. “Because I had to work so hard to have my pain acknowledged, there was no time to feel fear or grief. To say goodbye.” Because of course to make the choice to have a hysterectomy was to make the choice never experience pregnancy and childbirth — something she says she’s wanted her entire life. Instead, Lena plans on “exploring whether my ovaries, which remain someplace inside me in that vast cavern of organs and scar tissue, have eggs,” and she also says that “adoption is a thrilling truth I’ll pursue with all my might.” “But I wanted that stomach,” she admits. “I wanted to know what nine months of complete togetherness could feel like. I was meant for the job, but I didn’t pass the interview.” “And that’s OK. It really is. I might not believe it now, but I will soon enough. And all that will be left is my story and my scars, which are already faded enough that they’re hard to find.” The whole essay is a tough read, and it’s hard to imagine how Lena must be feeling about all this. Bridezillas: The Trashiest Wedding Show is Back and Better Than Ever!

Do you remember Bridezillas? If you were a fan of trashy reality shows about ten years ago, there's no way you don't remember Bridezillas. But just in case you were never fortunate enough to witness this gem of a television program, Bridezillas was a show that aired on WEtv from 2004 to 2013. Each episode featured a couple of women preparing for their wedding days in the most dramatic way possible. They threw fits over everything and anything, and it was just an absolute joy to watch. Remember the bride who lost her mind on her poor fiancé and her family members when they were just trying to help her? Remember how she screamed and cried and made herself look like an unbelievable brat? Trick question: that kind of thing happened with literally all of the brides. As we said, Bridezillas stopped airing in 2013 for reasons we still don't understand. It was there, and then suddenly it was not, and it was a tough loss to handle.   But we don't have to be sad anymore, because in what has to be the best news we've heard in a long, long time , Bridezillas is returning to WEtv for its 11th season! In March!!! And just in case you think it's too good to be true, fear not, because the trailer for the new season is proof that we're about to be blessed with more reality trash than we know what to do with. The trailer begins with a woman all decked out in her bridal gear, screaming “It's my wedding day!”, and we're off to a very, very good start. We see a bride kicking a kid's bicycle, a bride looking furious in a surgical mask, a bride walking down the street with her hair in curlers screaming about other brides. It feels like coming home, honestly. Let's see, one woman throws her wedding cake to the ground, one cocks a shotgun in her dress, one has a breakdown over a veil. There are two different fights at two different weddings — physical ones between some male guests — and a grandma tells a bride that she should have gotten a boob job so her dress would fit better. We don't know what we did to deserve this kind of magic, but we'll certainly take it. Watch the full trailer below!

Ben Affleck’s Dad: It’s Not His Fault My Boy’s a Boozer!

Back in 2016, Ben Affleck appeared on Bill Simmons’ short-lived HBO show and screamed about his love for Tom Brady in what appeared to be a drunken tirade. At the time, the unhinged rant was mostly laughed off, and it was only later that the world learned that Affleck was battling alcoholism and was in the depths of his addiction at the time of the interview. As you’ve no doubt heard, Ben’s beloved Patriots lost to the underdog Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII on Sunday. As the world marveled at Eagles’ fans willingness to lay waste to their own city, many wondered how Ben – arguably the most famous Pats fan and a close friend of Tom Brady’s – was handling the news. Back in December, Affleck checked into rehab for the third time in less than a year. These days, he’s out of treatment and reportedly sober, but after falling off the wagon so many times, Ben is no doubt aware that alcoholism is a lifelong battle. Ben’s father, Tim Affleck, has also struggled with addiction and earlier this week he opened up about his son’s struggles in a candid interview with Radar Online. It seems the elder Affleck believes his son’s struggles are mainly the result of the career he chose. “Hollywood is a disgusting place!” Tim told the outlet . “I’m not a big fan of the entertainment world. I know it’s taken its toll [on Ben].” Tim says he’s witnessed some major changes in his son’s character over the course of his decades in the industry. “You’re kind of forced to develop a persona that is hard to shed and go home to your family,” Tim says. “It affects your whole life. I think that’s one of the dangers of the film industry.” Ben has spoken at length about his father’s alcoholism and the ways in which it affected his childhood. “I know what he’s going through,” says Tim, who’s been sober 27 years. “Of course we speak about it, and we do have a shared history, at least in terms of struggle. Ben’s always been serious about getting sober.
