In an interview with The Today Show yesterday, Cissy Houston said she does not blame anyone for her daughter’s death. But Michael Houston taped an interview with Oprah Winfrey this week and admits that he got Whitney started on crack cocaine many, many years ago. Michael Houston Oprah Interview “You gotta understand at the time, Michael says. “[It was] the 80s… it was acceptable.” Houston does not absolve himself of playing a role in his sister’s demise, though. It’s clear the guilt is strong, as he explains: “It’s painful… I feel responsible for what I let go so far.” Whitney, of course, passed away in Beverly Hills last February after a drug overdose that included cocaine, Xanax and marijuana. This episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter runs Sunday night on OWN at 9/8c. Check your local listings.
In the latest issue of Billboard , Justin Bieber talks openly for the first time about his split from Selena Gomez . With rumors flying over Gomez seeking revenge via future songs, and with Bieber just releasing a breakup anthem titled ” Nothing Like This ,” the young artist is surprisingly candid in his interview with the magazine. “I’m not in the happiest place that I’ve ever been,” Bieber admits. “I’m trying to get through what I’m going through. I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.” Justin is also aware of the chatter out there, but asks fans not to pay attention to any of it. “There’s so many rumors,” he said. “People say I call Selena every day and she won’t pick up the phone or I’m chasing her down, and these are all fake stories.” What is next for the superstar? It doesn’t sound like he and Gomez will be giving it another try any time soon. But it also doesn’t sound like he’ll let that keep him down. “I don’t have any regrets. I live and learn. My mom says, ‘You got to learn the hard way, don’t you?’ That’s me. I learn the hard way. But it’s about how I pick myself up and be better and stronger.”

“I basically replaced Michael Anthony Hall with a zombie” says Warm Bodies director Jonathan Levine by way of explaining that his girl-meet-corpse rom-com has more in common with John Hughes body of work than the Twilight saga. I was on the red carpet Friday night for the New York premiere — which was hosted by The Cinema Society and Artistry — where I also spoke with star Nicholas Hoult. How did the former Skins star perfect his zombie run? Hours on the treadmill! In fact, when friends stopped by his flat — Hoult is British — he says they took one look at him and said “this guy needs to take a break”! Nope, that’s not fatigue, that’s zombie reflexes! Hoult’s co-star Teresa Palmer was also in attendance, and her favorite thing about Warm Bodies is that it helps the uber popular zombie genre evolve in unexpected ways. That’s right, we can’t watch The Walking Dead forever – or can we…? Check out the full interview below: Follow Grace Randolph on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .
Manti Te’o finally appeared on camera today, for the first time since his girlfriend hoax went public, making one thing VERY clear to Katie Couric: He is not gay. Manti Te’o Interview: I’m Not Gay! Asked by the host about his sexuality – because some have speculated this might explain why Te’o would invent a woman named Lennay Kekua – Te’o was explicit in his response to the question of whether or not he’s a homosexual: “No. Far from it. FAR FROM IT.” Watch this offended response above and then scroll down for more interview highlights… Te’o showed Couric the Tweet sent by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, which took responsibility for the scam and read: “I completely accept the consequences to the pain I’ve caused and it’s important that you know the entire truth before anyone else.” Te’o on the admission by Tuiasosopo that HE was on every phone call: “It didn’t sound like a man… if he somehow made that voice, that’s an incredible talent.” Manti released voicemails left for him by “Lennay.” Why didn’t Te’o report Kekua’s phone call on December 6 immediately, after learning something here was very much amiss? “I was scared and I didn’t know what to do.” What does he think of his NFL draft status? “That I don’t know… Whatever happens happens… I hope and pray that good happens.” So, what do you think? Was Manti Te’o the complete victim of a hoax? Yes, the poor guy! No, he was in on it! View Poll »
Michael Buble and Luisana Lopilato are expecting their first child. The crooner’s pregnant wife, an Argentine actress, is now the envy of every woman ever. The spouses made the announcement in a video message featuring an ultrasound image and set to his hit song – wait for it – “Haven’t Met You Yet.” “Mike, Lu and . . . mini Buble!” the text reads. “We’re having a baby Buble!” Michael Buble Baby Announcement Buble, 37, married Luisana Lopilato , 25, in Buenos Aires in March 2011. Since then, kids have been on the couple’s mind in a big way. “I’ve said to Luisana a million times I’d love to have kids,” he told ET . “But I always say to her when you’re ready. When you feel like you’ve lived and you’ve partied and done all the things you want to do. When you’ve worked your butt off, then tell me.” Guess that point was pretty soon. “All my friends have babies so every time one of them says, ‘Guess what, you’re going to be an uncle,’ part of me is so happy for them and the other part of me is jealous.” Not for much longer. Congratulations Michael and Luisana!
In anticipation of his interview with Katie Couric, Manti Te’o has released a trio of voicemails to the talk show host, all of which feature a female voice he believed at the time to be girlfriend Lennay Kekua. It has since been confirmed the calls were instead made by Ronaiah Tuiasosopo . Manti Te’o Voicemails In the first, obtained by TMZ and allegedly left right before “Lennay” started chemotherapy, the individual simply says: “Just wanted to call you and keep you posted… I miss you, I love you… bye.” In the second, the individual is crying, seemingly because another woman is spending time with Te’o. “I don’t know who answered your phone and I don’t care,” the voice says. “This is my last time trying … you made it clear what you want.” Finally, the third voicemail was reportedly left on September 12, the day Kekua “died.” “I know that you’re probably doing homework or you’re with the boys, or a girl maybe, just razzing,” it says. “I just want to say I love you and goodnight and I’ll be okay tonight, I’ll do my best. So, yeah, get your rest and I’ll talk to you tomorrow. I love you so much hun, sweet dreams.” Te’o’s interview with Couric will soon air in many markets and we’ll file a complete report once it is over.
Jill Kelley, the now-infamous whistleblower in the David Petraeus scandal, was blackmailed by his mistress Paula Broadwell, according to a new report. Kelley says she was “terrified” late last summer when he told her about an email, later revealed to be from Broadwell, and the barrage that followed. “There was blackmail, extortion, threats,” Kelley told the Daily Beast in her first interview since the Petraeus scandal erupted three months ago. The emails, as Kelley would later learn, were from Paula Broadwell , whose affair with David Petraeus triggered his resignation as CIA director. The writer was so ambiguous, Kelley “didn’t even know it was a female.” Contradicting virtually every published account of the saga, Kelley indicates that the anonymous emails did not warn her to stay away from Petraeus. And yet the press depicted the two of them as “romantic rivals.” “Think how bizarre that is,” Kelley says. One person close to Kelley says the tone of the notes – numbering fewer than 10 – grew increasingly severe and, without being explicit, threatening. Did Kelley come to suspect that Broadwell was behind them. “I never met Paula in my life,” Jill Kelley says, noting that she didn’t even know Broadwell had just published a glowing biography of David Petraeus. It seems evident that Broadwell grew jealous about what she perceived as Kelley’s relationship with Petraeus; at an awards ceremony, he kissed her on the cheek. Kelley will not speculate about Broadwell’s motivation. Her complaint to the FBI set in motion a chain of events that culminated with Petraeus, the architect of U.S. war strategy in Iraq and Afghanistan, acknowledging his affair with Broadwell. The husband of Holly Petraeus resigned from the CIA. Kelley, 37, would also find herself the subject of speculation that she was carrying on with Gen. John Allen, the U.S. commander in Afghanistan, which she flatly denies. Allen also has denied wrongdoing. Kelley bristles at those eye-catching media reports that she and Allen exchanged as many as 30,000 emails, calling the figure “outrageous.” What has been lost in the lurid and sometimes mocking coverage is the toll the scandal has taken on Kelley, her husband, and their three young children. Five months after the Prince Harry naked pic scandal, The Spare is back from his tour of duty and opening up about his now-infamous Vegas weekend. “I probably let myself down,” he told UK reporters in an interview following his stint in Afghanistan. “I let my family down, I let other people down.” Prince Harry Interview “At the end of the day, I was in a private area and there should be a certain amount of privacy. The way I was treated … I don’t think is acceptable.” “Back home, all my close friends rallied round me and were great.” Prince Harry went on to say that he considers the naked photo incident a “classic example of me probably being too much army and not enough prince.” Harry had invited some girls he met at a hotel bar up to his VIP suite for a party back in August, and after losing a game of strip billiards, followed the rules. Photos were taken and leaked to celebrity gossip site TMZ. Embarrassing as that was for Harry and family, he didn’t do anything illegal or even controversial, and he seems to have come out of it just fine. The 28-year-old Harry also discussed the pregnant Kate Middleton and other topics in the interview (above). Seems like a nice fella, don’t you think?
