Woman, 66, Shoots Estranged Son-in-Law While He Drops Off Child (IPhone Footage Of Shooting) [Video]

This crazy bird: A 66-year-old grandmother is under arrest after police say she shot her estranged son-in-law because of an ongoing custody battle he and her daughter were having over the pair’s young son. The victim, Salvatore Miglino of Boca Raton, had his cell phone recording the entire time, and the audio was key to the investigation of the Wednesday shooting in Broward County, Fla. The incident unfolded when Miglino, 39, went to pick up his 3-year-old son for a scheduled visit. His mother-in-law, Cheryl Hepner, stood outside the home with the toddler’s pillow and bag. “According to him, when he asked for the things, she instead pulled out a handgun and starts firing shots,” according to Dani Moschella, a spokeswoman for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Miglino was shot twice with a .22 caliber Beretta handgun. The bullets hit him in the shoulder and rib cage. Even though he was injured, he pounced and wrestled the gun away from Hepner, then drove away while calling for help, police said. But it turns out that Hepner, too, had called police, with a different version of events. When she was asked by the 911 dispatcher about whether she or Miglino pulled the gun, Hepner replied: “No, he pulled it on me and he’s got it. He drove away,” according to an audio recording of the call. She also mentions to the dispatcher that he and her daughter were in “the middle of a horrible divorce.” But in the recording on Miglino’s iPhone told a different story. Fifty-eight seconds into the recording, three gunshots are heard. Then Miglino can be heard saying: “I can’t believe you did that. I can’t believe you did that … I can’t believe you f***ing shot me.” Miglino told the 911 operator that he had his phone recording his visit because “I knew something stupid was going to happen, but we’re going through a divorce and trying to settle.” “Mrs. Hepner told authorities that [Miglino] pulled a gun on her so it was in fact the exact opposite of what had happened,” Moschella said. “As evidence goes, that was a gem. The Side-Eye: Why Would Joe “To Hide A Predator” Paterno Transfer Ownership Of His House To His Wife Four Months Before The Penn State Scandal???

Well, isn’t this an interesting turn of events… Joe Paterno transferred full ownership of his house to his wife, Sue, for $1 in July, less than four months before a sexual abuse scandal engulfed his Penn State football program and the university. Documents filed in Centre County, Pa., show that on July 21 the Paternos’ house near campus was turned over to “Suzanne P. Paterno, trustee” for a dollar plus “love and affection.” The couple had previously held joint ownership of the house, which they bought in 1969 for $58,000. According to documents filed with the county, the house’s fair-market value was listed at $594,484.40. Wick Sollers, a lawyer for Paterno, said in an e-mail that the Paternos had been engaged in a “multiyear estate planning program,” and the transfer “was simply one element of that plan.” He said it had nothing to do with the scandal. Paterno, who was fired as the football coach at the university last week, has been judged harshly by many for failing to take more aggressive action when he learned of a suspected sexual assault of a child by one of his former top assistants. Some legal experts, in trying to gauge the legal exposure of the university and its top officials to lawsuits brought by suspected victims of the assistant, Jerry Sandusky, have theorized that Paterno could be a target of civil actions. On Nov. 5, Sandusky, Penn State’s former defensive coordinator, was charged with 40 counts related to the reported sexual abuse of eight boys over 15 years. Paterno, 84, was among those called to give testimony before a grand jury during the investigation, which began in 2009. Experts in estate planning and tax law, in interviews, cautioned that it would be hard to determine the Paternos’ motivation simply from the available documents. It appears the family house had been the subject of years of complex and confusing transactions. Lawrence A. Frolik, a law professor at the University of Pittsburgh who specializes in elder law, said that he had “never heard” of a husband selling his share of a house for $1 to his spouse for tax or government assistance purposes. “I can’t see any tax advantages,” Frolik said. “If someone told me that, my reaction would be, ‘Are they hoping to shield assets in case if there’s personal liability?’ ” He added, “It sounds like an attempt to avoid personal liability in having assets in his wife’s name.” Yeah, okay. In Nasty Scumbag News: Jerry Sandusky’s Sexual Abuse Victim Count Has Now Grown From 8 To Almost 20

Man, this thing keeps getting uglier: It was an emotional Tuesday night in Happy Valley, and there were lots of developments in the Penn State child sex scandal. Sources tell FOX 29 News that, since a press conference on Monday, the number of potential victims has more than doubled in the case. We’ve learned there may be as many as 17 accusers coming forward against one-time Penn State University defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. State officials publicized two phone numbers for potential victims to call, and within a day it seems investigators have new leads. There are eight victims listed in the grand jury presentment, and 40 charges have been leveled against Sandusky, a long-time assistant to Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno. Sandusky allegedly met the boys through The Second Mile, a charity he founded in the late 1970s. Paterno was not named in the grand jury finding as violating any laws, and authorities have said he is not a target of the investigation. Students rallied Tuesday night in support of Paterno, but we heard that university trustees were huddling up, too. FOX 29′s Bruce Gordon reported that university trustees met via teleconference Tuesday night. Around 11 p.m. came word that the trustees will appoint a special committee to investigate the scandal that has rocked the school. Paterno was clearly overcome with emotion. “It’s hard for me to tell you how much this means to me. All right? You guys, I’ve lived for this place, I’ve lived for people like you guys and girls, and I’m just so happy to see that the, you know, that you feel so strongly about us and about your school.” Mindful that the show of support was turning into a pep rally, Paterno asked the students to keep the young victims of this sex scandal in their prayers. “Tough life when people do certain things to you. But, anyway, you guys have been great,” Paterno said. Paterno should have been praying for those victims back when Sandusky’s trifling a$$ was abusing them. Source More On Bossip! Brad Pitt on Jennifer Aniston Comment: Pure Spin!

Brad Pitt is in full-fledged movie promotion mode, but still finds himself fielding questions about his personal life – specifically select comments he made last week regarding his pretend marriage to Jennifer Aniston . “That was never my intention for it to be spun that way,” he said of those who interpreted his remarks that way, insisting it wasn’t what he meant. “People read things into it that just weren’t there.” Saying he once used film to fill a void in his life, Pitt told Parade last week: “It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself.” “I think that my marriage had something to do with it,” he says, noting that he was “trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.” While we certainly don’t think Brad meant to overtly slam Jen, it’s also easy to understand how someone could interpret it as such. Tough one. However he may have meant it, there’s no arguing that critics and fans are eagerly anticipating his new film Moneyball , opening this weekend. [Photo: WENN.com]

Jonah Shacknai Seeks to Reopen Rebecca Zahau Death Investigation

As if the investigation into the death of Rebecca Zahau and Max Shacknai weren’t strange enough, Jonah Shacknai himself wants to see it reopened. In a letter sent by Shacknai to the attorney general Monday, the billionaire pharmaceutical CEO wrote that further investigation would be beneficial. Seeking to bring “clarity, dignity, and ultimately closure to the devastating deaths” of his girlfriend and son, he asked that the investigation proceed. “The circumstances of Rebecca’s suicide were so unusual and upsetting that it was difficult to accept the hard facts that were presented,” he went on to write . “I pray that Max and Rebecca are now at peace and I hope you might be able to help the rest of us … finally achieve some peace and closure.” Rebecca’s naked body was found hanging from the balcony of Shacknai’s Coronado, Calif., mansion on July 13, only two days after his son, Max, 6, was found unconscious at the base of the stairs. Max later died from his injuries. Rebecca was babysitting Max, whose mother is Shacknai’s ex-wife, at the time. Investigators ruled her death as a suicide, stating she was riddled with guilt and knew he was going to die. Max’s death was ruled an accident. A mysterious suicide message that was found written on the guest room door near Rebecca’s body that read: “She Saved Him Can You Save Her,” is one of the many mystifying details in the case that has captivated many. Also, the fact that her hands and feet were bound with rope and she was nude is eerie and perplexing. She was gagged, there was blood on her body and she suffered hemorrhages, making suicide seem less likely to some. Shacknai’s surprising letter to the attorney general came after Rebecca’s family publicly questioned the ruling of suicide after examiners’ conclusions. “It doesn’t add up from day one,” her sister, Mary Zahau told Good Morning America. “It seemed like from the beginning that things were ignored.” Asked if she thought her sister was murdered, Mary replied, “Yes.”

When The Checks Stop Coming In: Former Olympic Record Holding Pitcher Popped For Cooking Up That Trailer Park Crack Next To A School

We tried to tell you this recession is for real . A former U.S. Olympic baseball star and his wife were charged with cooking methamphetamine inside a home they shared with their three children, just a few hundred yards away from Loxley Elementary School, police said. Billy Lyle “BJ” Wallace Jr., 40, and Amber Sheree McKenzie, 29, were being held in Baldwin County Corrections Center as of Wednesday, both charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wallace, a Monroeville native, pitched for the U.S. team in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, and the Montreal Expos picked him third in that year’s amateur draft, signing the left-hander for $550,000, according to baseball-reference.com and Press-Register archives. He set an Olympic record for strikeouts in a game by fanning 14 in a win over Italy, but he never reached the major leagues. After a three-month investigation that included both surveillance and informants, Loxley police served a search warrant on Wallace’s home at 3999 S. Magnolia St. at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found four “shake and bake” meth labs inside, along with two ounces of “finished product,” according to Loxley police Lt. Doug Phillips. Their three children, ages 2, 8 and 12, were turned over to their grandparents, Phillips said. Though they do not share a last name, Wallace and McKenzie were married in February, according to Baldwin County Probate Office records. Phillips declined to say whether the children were present when officers made the arrests. Because of the length of the investigation, authorities had become concerned for the safety of the children, Phillips said. He described the “shake and bake” lab as a 20-ounce or two-liter plastic bottle with meth ingredients inside. “It can turn into an incredible explosive,” Phillips said. “Even if it didn’t explode, if one of the kids drank it, thinking it was a soda bottle, who knows what could happen?” SMDH. Is that mu’f**a smiling in the mugshot??? Source

Graphic Photos Found in Robyn Gardner Case

Graphic photos found on the camera of a man Robyn Gardner was with have deepened the mystery surrounding the Maryland woman’s disappearance. Robyn was supposed to be in Orlando with her parents – or so she told her boyfriend, Richard Forester. In reality, she went on a vacation to Aruba. Now the 35-year-old is missing and presumed dead. Gary Giordano , a 50-year-old Maryland businessman with a disturbing past, remains in custody. The mystery has only deepened as authorities in Aruba begin releasing details from the investigation, such as images that are “beyond pornographic.” No other information about the photos has been revealed, and it’s still not known exactly when the pictures – on Gary Giordano’s camera – were taken. It is also difficult to determine whether the acts are consensual, says Julia Renfro, editor-in-chief of Aruba Today, the island’s English language daily. “You only see organs,” Renfro tells People Magazine , disturbingly. “You don’t know if she is awake. There are other pictures where she is posing naked.” It’s the latest surprise in a case that had already gained notoriety because of its parallels to the unsolved disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 18. The suspect in that case, which captivated the nation in 2005, is Joran van der Sloot, who is being tried this fall in Peru for another murder. As far as Robyn Gardner is concerned, leads have been provocative. Along with the photos, authorities are looking into a $1.5 million accidental death insurance policy Giordano reportedly took out on Gardner before the trip.

Casey Anthony Sentenced to Four Years in Prison, May Be a Free Woman Soon

Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murder earlier this week, but was sentenced to a year in prison today for making false statements to investigators. Her lies to police during the investigation of the death of her daughter Caylee came early and often following the toddler’s 2008 disappearance. The Casey Anthony jurors believed that, despite her lies about what happened to Caylee, there wasn’t sufficient evidence that she killed her daughter. However, Anthony was convicted of fours separate counts of lying to authorities – fabrications that sparked a massive manhunt for her missing child. Casey Anthony was also hit with $4,000 in fines. The charges each carried a maximum of a year in prison, and Judge Belvin Perry gave her four years . However, she’s already served most of that. In custody since 2008, Casey may be released from jail in late July or early August based on time served and good behavior while incarcerated. The exact date of her release is still TBD. Anthony’s defense argued that the four misdemeanors occurred during one day of questioning and therefore should be counted as a single crime. To punish her on four counts would violate double jeopardy rules, the defense said, but Perry was unmoved and Casey was jailed – for now. “As a result of those four distinct lies, law enforcement expended time, energy and manpower looking for young Caylee Marie Anthony,” he said. Nevertheless, while she’ll be working on her new advice book from a cell for the time being, it won’t be long until the 25-year-old walks free. [Photo: WENN.com]

‘Jackass’ Star Ryan Dunn Was Intoxicated When He Died

Police confirm to MTV News that Dunn’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit in Pennsylvania. By Jocelyn Vena Ryan Dunn Photo: Eddie Malluk/ WireImage At the time of his fatal car accident earlier this week, “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn was intoxicated, a West Chester, Pennsylvania, police official confirmed to MTV News. The skater and stuntman had a blood alcohol level of .196 when he got behind the wheel on Monday; the legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08. A police official also confirmed that Dunn had been driving his Porsche upward of 130 mph when he crashed and died, along with his passenger, Zachary D. Hartwell . No other substances were found in his body. On Tuesday, police said the investigation into the crash that killed Dunn, 34, and Hartwell, 30, revealed that Dunn’s Porsche may have jumped a guardrail and crashed into a ravine before bursting into flames after the two men left the bar Barnaby’s of America in West Chester . A coroner’s report revealed that both men died of blunt force trauma from the impact of the wreck and burns from the resulting fire. While toxicology results may prove otherwise, an employee of Barnaby’s told MTV News earlier this week that, the night before the crash, Dunn “didn’t seem intoxicated. He seemed like he was having a good time, hanging out with his friends.” The Barnaby’s worker further noted that Dunn “only had a couple beers here. As far as we’re concerned, the biggest thing, our hearts go out to the family and friends, and his loss is a big loss to our community. The biggest thing we’re worried about is his friends and family.” Dunn’s longtime pal Bam Margera tearfully spoke to a Fox affiliate in Pennsylvania near the scene of the accident, saying, “I’ve never lost anybody that I care about; he’s my best friend. “He was the happiest person, the smartest guy with so much talent,” Margera continued. “He had so many things going for him. … It is not right. … It was the worst phone call I ever got in my life.” MTV News also traveled to Dunn’s adopted hometown of West Chester PA , and found many who remembered the “Jackass” star not for his celebrity status, but rather for his ability to remain modest despite living in the limelight. “He was real,” said Sam Ford, who was celebrating her 25th birthday at Barnaby’s, the last place Dunn was seen before his crash. Brock Jackson, 31, who said he grew up playing Little League with Bam Margera says Dunn had “truly kind eyes” and “a heart and a half.” He was especially impressed by the well-known resident’s memory, saying, “He remembered every time he met somebody.” Share your memories of Ryan Dunn on our Facebook page or in the comments below.
