Mel Gibson’s Lawyer To Meet With Police Next Week

Actor is being investigated for domestic violence against ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. By Gil Kaufman Mel Gibson Photo: Dominique Charriau/WireImage As the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department continues its domestic violence investigation of Mel Gibson , the actor’s lawyer is reportedly set to meet with police on the matter. According to RadarOnline.com , the site that has released a series of disturbing audio recordings in which Gibson unleashes obscene rants on his ex-girlfriend , the meeting is slated to happen next week. “The plan is for Mel’s lawyer to meet with investigators from the Sheriff’s department next week,” an unidentified source close to the case told the site. “It won’t be happening this week because of scheduling issues.” Gibson, 54, is being investigated on domestic violence charges after former girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, 40, mother of their 8-month-old baby, filed a complaint with law enforcement on July 5 alleging that he attacked her earlier this year. So far, Gibson has reportedly not been interviewed by law enforcement officers in the case. “There is a lot more to this investigation that Mel’s lawyer will be giving to law enforcement,” the source said, declining to elaborate on the details of what the attorney may offer, but hinting that it could help the actor, whose already battered public image has taken a serious blow in light of the racist, sexist invective on the various snippets of tape that have emerged so far. An unnamed law enforcement source told Radar that the investigation is proceeding quickly and that information could be handed over to the district attorney’s office by the end of the month. Grigorieva has claimed that Gibson knocked out two of her front teeth and threatened to kill her several times. She said she taped the conversations because she was afraid for her life. The D.A. will have to determine whether there is enough evidence to charge Gibson with a crime. Gibson’s spokesperson has offered a “no comment” on the tapes — though he had not denied that the voice heard on them is Gibson — and the actor has not yet made any public statement about their contents.

Federal Indictments announced against officers in New Orleans bridge deaths

(CNN) — Federal officials announced indictments Tuesday against four police officers and two supervisors in the investigation surrounding the post-Katrina deaths of civilians on New Orleans' Danziger Bridge. At least three New Orleans police officers were in FBI custody Tuesday afternoon, an attorney for one of them confirmed. Kenneth Bowen, Anthony Villavaso and Robert Gisevius surrendered to authorities. Announcement of the charges stemming from a federal civil rights investigation was made by Attorney General Eric Holder in New Orleans. “Put simply, we will not tolerate wrongdoing by those who have sworn to protect the public,” Holder told reporters. Holder promised the Justice Department will help restore the troubled New Orleans police department. “Today marks an important step forward in administering justice, in healing community wounds, in improving public safety and in restoring public trust in this city's police department,” Holder said. He was joined by the Justice Department's civil rights chief, Thomas E. Perez, and U.S. Attorney Jim Letten, the top federal prosecutor in New Orleans. The shootings occurred at the bridge on September 4, 2005, six days after Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast. added by: TimALoftis

Illegals rob elderly citizen, citizen fires gun, prosecutors charge the citizen–and not the illegals

This is a CLASSIC example of how, in cities like Denver where the politicians have promoted sanctuary city policies, illegal aliens are given more rights than citizens. There is a local news video on the page below: http://www.kdvr.com/news/kdvr-elderly-man-shoots-thieves-txt,0,1105363.story *** Elderly man facing serious charges for shooting at thieves Julie Hayden Investigative Reporter 7:22 PM MDT, July 7, 2010 WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. – Legal analyst Dan Recht said he believes the Jefferson County District Attorney is “seriously overcharging” a Wheat Ridge homeowner, accused of attempted first degree murder for shooting at two thieves. 82-year-old Robert Wallace said he fired two shots at two men when they tried to run him over while stealing his flatbed trailer. Wallace now faces twelve felony counts, including four counts of attempted first degree murder, for what he described as an act of defending his property and his life. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. One of the thieves, Damacio Torres later admitted to the theft. He and his partner in crime, Alvara Cardano both have prior arrest records and are believed to be in the country illegally. But they are not facing any charges. Recht said, in his experience, prosecutors overcharge cases to force a person to plea bargain. He argued that it's just not right to put a person through that kind of mental and financial stress. Jefferson County DA, Scott Storey, indicated he'll take a closer look at his office's decision to throw the book at the homeowner and hinted the charges could be reduced. He said the investigation continues into the confessed thieves. *** There are additional details you need to know: 1) the two illegal aliens had many prior arrests for theft. At one point recently they stole a $60,000 piece of farm equipment on a trailer in a very similar theft. 2) investigators said they believe the two criminals are part of a car theft ring, and wanted the trailer for additional thefts. 3) the driver of the truck was hit by a bullet and is now paralized, and wants to sue the elderly man “for everything he has” 4) First Degree Murder is a capital punishment offense, so this 82 year old gentleman could go to jail for the rest of his life or even receive the death penalty for defending his life and property. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070817192825AAdnJoq 5) In interviews on Denver radio programs, local defense lawyers, former prosecutors and former Congressmen in colorado have stated that had the “victims” been anything other than illegal immigrants, Mr Wallace would not be charged at all. 6) the prosecuting attorneys have pressed NO CHARGES against the illegal immigrant theives. Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested For Rape

Bay county sheriff's investigators have arrested one of their own, charging him with the rape of a woman in Panama City Beach. Twenty-seven year old Benjamin Logue was arrested yesterday and charged with 1-count of sexual battery. Twenty seven year old Benjamin Logue is no longer a Bay County Sheriff's deputy. He was fired Tuesday after his colleagues arrested him for rape. Investigators say the incident happened on June 9th, while Logue was on-duty. He saw a woman walking down the side of highway 98 in the Philips inlet area. McKeithen says Logue approached the woman, and told her to get into his patrol car. Authorities say Logue then drove to a wooded area, and force the woman to have sex. Sheriff's investigators didn't find out about the incident until this past Monday, when an acquaintance of the woman came forward. The alleged victim was hesitant to report the attack, which doesn't surprise bay county sheriff frank McKeithen. “The person that they are supposed to trust has just violated them and it would be kind of hard going to a person wearing the same uniform that they are wearing”, said Sheriff McKeithen. When confronted by investigators, Logue supposedly admitted to having sex with the woman, but he claims it was consensual. “There are certain ethical boundaries that are written and there are also some ethical boundaries that are not written. The ethical boundaries that are written certainly have been violated by deputy Logue and in law enforcement we have some unwritten codes of ethics that we believe also have been violated”, said McKeithen During the course of their investigation, sheriff's investigators say they learned of a second possible victim (a little more @ link) added by: Omnomynous

Jeremy London Kidnapped, ‘Forced’ To Smoke Drugs

‘Party of Five’ star escaped bizarre kidnapping last week; alleged kidnapper is in custody. By MTV News staff Jeremy London Photo: Charley Gallay/WireImage Jeremy London — the actor best known for his roles in “Party of Five” and Kevin Smith’s “Mallrats” — was robbed and abducted by a man in Palm Springs, California, on Thursday night, beginning a five-hour ordeal in which he was held at gunpoint and forced to smoke drugs. Palm Springs police told RadarOnline that London, 37, was attempting to change a flat tire on his vehicle when several men stopped to help him. After London offered to drive the men home, one of them — a man identified as Palm Springs resident Brandon Adams — pulled a gun on the actor, then forced him to drive his own vehicle, smoke drugs and buy alcohol. “[During the kidnapping] he was forced to smoke dope [crack cocaine or amphetamines] and then purchase booze and hand it out in a gang area of Palm Springs,” Sergeant Steve Douglas told Radar. London managed to escape around 3 a.m. Friday, Douglas added. The actor’s vehicle was later recovered in the Palm Springs neighborhood where Adams lived. Adams was arrested and charged with several felonies, including kidnapping for ransom with injury, strong arm robbery, carjacking, receiving stolen property and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. Adams pleaded not guilty, The Associated Press reported Thursday, but remains in custody with bail set at slightly more than $500,000. A publicist for London confirmed to the AP that the actor was indeed the kidnapping victim and that he is working closely with police in their investigation, adding that he is currently at “an undisclosed location with family and friends.” In the past, London has struggled with drug abuse. In an April interview with People magazine , he said he had spent time in a rehabilitation center due to a prescription drug addiction. In 2004, he was arrested for allegedly driving with a suspended license and carrying controlled substances.

Allan McGregor will not face charges after sexual assault allegations

• Rangers goalkeeper had described claims as ‘a vile lie’ • Crown Office says there was insufficient evidence The Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor will not face charges following allegations of a sexual assault on a woman, prosecutors said today. McGregor, 28, had been accused of sexual assault and questioned along with the Big Brother contestant Kenneth Tong and the former St Johnstone player Filipe Morais in Glasgow last November. Strathclyde Police launched an investigation after the allegation was made but the Crown Office said today there was “insufficient evidence” to prosecute the three men. A Crown Office spokeswoman said: “A report was submitted to the procurator fiscal at Glasgow concerning Kenneth Tong, Allan McGregor and Filipe Morais in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Glasgow in November 2009. “After very careful and detailed consideration of all the facts and circumstances following an extensive police enquiry, Crown Counsel have decided that there is insufficient evidence to satisfy legal requirements to institute a prosecution. “We have sought to keep the complainer informed throughout the investigation. The Procurator Fiscal has informed her of the decision and has offered her a meeting if she wishes to address any questions she may have.” “The former suspects have been informed that in the circumstances there will be no proceedings,” the spokeswoman added. McGregor had denied the claims as a “vile lie”. “There is not one iota of truth in the allegations,” he said. “I’m devoting myself to clearing my name of these claims.” Rangers Crime guardian.co.uk
