‘jOBS’ Role Sent Ashton Kutcher To Hospital

Ashton Kutcher not only took on Steve Jobs’ persona as a tech magnate, he also adopted the late Apple founder’s alleged fruitarian diet in preparation for the role, which sent him to the hospital, the actor revealed following the premiere of jOBS at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend. [ Related: SUNDANCE WINNERS: ‘Fruitvale’ & ‘Blood Brother’ WIN Top Prizes x 2 ] Often considered a subset of veganism, fruitarianism is a diet that consists of fruit, nuts and seeds, solely without animal products, vegetables and grains. Motivations for fruitarianism range from ethical, health, religious and environmental or other reasons. “First of all, the fruitarian diet can lead to, like, severe issues,” Kutcher told USA Today. “I went to the hospital like two days before we started shooting the movie. I was like doubled over in pain. My pancreas levels were completely out of whack. It was really terrifying…considering everything.” Jobs died of pancreatic cancer in October 2011. Kutcher said he spent hundreds of hours going over tapes of Jobs hoping to master his mannerisms and hunched walk. The actor, who has a massive Twitter following, said he felt close to the late magnate in part because they share an affinity for the “tech space.” “He’s a guy that failed and got back on the horse,” noted Kutcher. “I think we can all sort of relate to that in some place in our life where we are moving forward with something and we fall down. You have to have the guts to get back up and go again. I think I share that as well.” jOBS opens with the period Steve Jobs founded Apple in a garage in Palo Alto, California up to when he launched the iPod in 2001. Oscar-winning writer of The Social Network , Aaron Sorkin, is also planning a Jobs biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s bestselling biography. The Sorkin version will reportedly comprise of three extended scenes, according to The Guardian, each leading up to a pivotal product launch. [ Sources: The Guardian , USA Today ]

I met Justin Drew Bieber on October 2nd, 2012. But before we get…

View post:

I met Justin Drew Bieber on October 2nd, 2012 . But before we get to that, let me explain what happened. Around May of this year, I got two tickets to see Justin for my birthday. It was my first concert and my first time seeing Justin live . Since it was my first time going to a concert, my mom told my dad to get me at least decent seats so we could see better. However, when the tickets went on pre-sale, I had to go to school and there was no way my parents were going to let me stay home to buy them, so my dad had to do it. Unfortunately, my dad messed up the seats. When I got home he told me that supposedly he had gotten seats at on the floor and I was beyond excited! BUT when I finally got my tickets, we were in section 301 all the way at the top. Of course I felt like crying. I was devastated but I told myself that I was at least going to finally see him live and I was somewhat happier about it. For a few months I was happy that I was going to see Justin and I was counting down the days until I got to see him. Then on September 24, 2012  I logged on to bieberfever.com and noticed the contest to win meet and greets with Justin Bieber. The deadline was two days away so I thought “Why not give it a try?” Since the contest was to take a picture of all your Justin Bieber merch, I grabbed every single thing I had from him and laid it out on my kitchen table. I snapped the picture, sent it off, and that was it; I didn’t think much of it or get my hopes up too high because I knew it was a long shot. The weekend went by normally and in the back of my head I was still hoping I’d win, but I didn’t let myself get too excited. I went to school on Monday as usual, the contest not even crossing my mind one minute. After school I went home and got changed. Then, I grabbed my ipod like I always do to check my notifications and e-mail. It was then that I saw I had one email from Bieber Fever Contests. I just stared at it for a while, not quite comprehending what was going on. When I opened the email and read the first line “ Congratulations, Gabriela! ” I screamed and ran to my mom to show her the e-mail. She couldn’t believe it until I logged into my laptop and showed her the exact same e-mail. With shaky hands, I quickly entered my information and hit ‘SEND’. The next day I skipped school because I was too excited to go. My mom drove me to the Staples Center and we got there around 2:00 P.M. When we got there, there were some girls already standing waiting for Justin so I went over to stand with them. We waited about 30 minutes until Scooter walked up behind us and everyone ran to him, surrounding him. Even though he couldn’t take pictures he still talked to us; he’s such a cool guy! While the crowd was still surrounding him, Scooter slipped inside the Staples Center and I went to the ticket booth to pick up my wristbands for the meet and greets. That took about another hour or so. When I finally got my wristbands, I waited in line for about 30-50 more minutes. While I stood in line, I saw everyone from the crew! First I saw Scooter again, then I saw Kenny and I said hi and he shook my hand! I saw Moshe, and to be honest he’s too cute omfg. He looked so shy when everyone was saying hi to him! Then I turned around and saw Alfredo, I shouted “HEY FREDO!” and his face was literally like “:D” I laughed LOL. Then I saw Pattie who was strutting around the place bossing everyone around haha, she looked so fab! I called her and she smiled and waved at me and then the security guard was like “Who’s that?” and I said “Justin’s mom” and she was like “Oh no wonder she’s being bossy, she can do whatever she wants.” Shortly after, it was our turn to meet Justin! They put us in groups of approximately 6 people; I went in with this lady and her two young kids. I felt like my heart was literally going to stop when they said we could go in. Justin was standing RIGHT THERE in front of me and it felt so surreal to have him up close. When I walked in I said “Hi Justin!” and he smiled at me and put his arm around my waist for the picture. AND LET ME JUST TELL YOU, HE SMELLS WONDERFUL. But anyway, I also wrapped my arm around his waist. They took the picture but before I left I was like “Can I get a hug?” and he was like “Yeah, of course.” I hugged him and it was perfect. When I walked out, I burst out in tears out of no where and all the people were asking if i was okay but all I could think of was “I JUST MET JUSTIN BIEBER AND HE HUGGED ME.” It was a short visit, but I met him and I just couldn’t believe it. After the meet and greet it was time for the concert and even though I had seats all the way at the top, I didn’t even care anymore because I had just met him. And despite the seating, he pulled off an AMAZING show and I had an overall great time. So now everyone who don’t think they’re going to meet Justin, take my word for it, if you BELIEVE, if you don’t give up, persist, and NEVER SAY NEVER, it will happen i’m sure of it!  Read the original: I met Justin Drew Bieber on October 2nd, 2012. Blushing Barry: President Obama Admits He’s Embarrassed Listening To Camel And Nas Around Sasha And Malia

This is for the POTUS with daughters… President Obama Admits He’s Embarassed To Listen To Rap Music Around His Daughters We know that Barry likes don a pair of Beats By Dre and nod his head to some good ol’ fashioned American hip-hop every now and then, but apparently listening to rappers’ harsh language with his baby girls isn’t exactly his cup o’ tea. Via Glamour GLAMOUR: Thinking about Sasha and Malia, when you ran for office last time, they were both little girls, and now Malia is a teenager. What kind of music does she listen to? PRESIDENT OBAMA: You know, we actually don’t constrain what she listens to. We expect her to show some good judgment. She listens to my iPod and has gotten hip to stuff that was made well before she was born like Motown, jazz, classic rock. There’s a whole bunch of stuff that she’s picking up on. We actually share tastes in hip-hop and rap music but we don’t listen to it together, because some of the language in there would embarrass me—at least while I’m listening to it with her. Folks like Jay-Z, Nas, we both like them, but when it comes on and I’m sitting with her and Sasha, then I fast-forward because it would make me blush…. It’s interesting, both Malia and Sasha, they’re very much up on pop culture, but what I’m pleased to see is that they’re interested in making culture too. They both play the piano, and Sasha’s dancing, and Malia’s interested in filmmaking. We gotta commend ol’ Barry O’ for keepin’ it 100. However, its interesting that The President said that he and Michelle don’t regulate their daughters music choices. Do you think that children of Sasha (11) and Malia (14) age should be kept from music with cursing and sexual themes? Image via WENN/SplashNews

My name is Pauline, I’m 16 and I live in Paris, France….

My name is Pauline, I’m 16 and I live in Paris, France . I’ve been a belieber since 2009. I’ve seen Justin for the first time in February 2011 for the ‘Never Say Never 3D’ premiere in Paris. I waited 11 hours outside and I saw him 5 minutes but I was the happiest. I’ve been to the MWT in Paris but before, I waited the whole day in front of his hotel and I saw him less than a minute but I didn’t care, I was happy. The next time I saw him was in November 2011, it was very fast but I had the chance to get an autograph. I always did my best to see him even if it was only 5 minutes. I skipped school and I waited hours and hours in front of the hotel. When I’ve heard he will be back in Paris in June, I entered all the contests to win tickets for the NRJ Music Tour or to see him inside the radio but I lost all of them. Then I’ve entered to win a M&G but I was continuing to loose every contest. It was Wednesday and Justin was coming the next day. I was totally losing hope.  Thursday, I skipped school so I could go to his hotel. It was 11am and I saw on Twitter I lost another contest, there was only one contest left but I was totally hopeless. Someone tweeted me I was one of the winners! I was so happy, happy is not even the word, I was freaking out. It was incredible. The M&G was that Friday. I had to be in front of the back doors of Universal at 1pm. (But let’s go back to Thursday) Everything was crazy: I went to Justin’s hotel with my best friend and waited until 2am. Justin had a private showcase with only a few beliebers who won a contest and he had an accident, he ran into a glass door but he didn’t’ stop the show. We were all so worried, we saw Justin’s car going into the parking. Scooter came outside and told us what happened, he told us a doctor was coming to see Justin. My best friend and I went home. I didn’t really sleep, I was thinking about all the things I wanted to tell him during the M&G. The next day, 1st June 2012, my mom drove me to Universal and waited with me. She is so supportive and knows how much meeting Justin was to me . I really can’t thank her enough. A guy came out with a list of names and started reading it. We went in a room and waited, I met some amazing beliebers, I was so happy to be there. We were living this together and it was priceless. We waited 30 minutes and Justin came, I still can’t believe I met him. He was so sweet, he shook everyone’s hands. We talked with him, he told us he felt better than yesterday.  It was the moment of the picture, I was with two of my friends, I was near Justin, I always thought the day I will meet him, I will start crying but I didn’t. I was so happy, I was the most happiest girl in the world at this very moment. We asked him how he felt and he shows us his bump on his forehead and let us touch it. He was so sweet, you just have to look in his eyes to know how much he loves his fans. We took the picture and I asked for a hug and he said, “Of course come here.”  It was the most incredible thing ever. I was dreaming of this since 2009 and it was finally happening. It was a real hug, not just a 2 seconds hug, he cares about his fans. I remember saying, “I love you Justin” at the end and he told me he loved me back. I never wanted to let him go. It was the hardest part of the M&G. We were all speechless and happy. Justin was going to sing at the balcony so we ran outside and waited for him to sing. This day was one of the best day of my life. I know sometimes it’s hard to believe in “Never Say Never”, I know how sometimes you feel hopeless. But please, to everyone who didn’t meet Justin yet, you will. Dreams really do come true if you never stop believing, because of Justin I never gave up even if I felt hopeless. He is my inspiration and I love him with all my heart. I want to thanks Justin for everything. He truly is an amazing person. He loves us and he cares about us. So if you ever feel hopeless, remember I was too. – @itspauline_ Here’s my video when I met Justin.  Read the original: My name is Pauline, I’m 16 and I live in Paris, France….

My name is Alejandra, I’m 17 years old and I’m from…

My name is Alejandra, I’m 17 years old and I’m from Honduras. I’ve been supporting Justin since 2009. Justin’s music has helped me a lot in these years and that’s why I always wanted to meet him. My family, friends, almost all never took me seriously as a Belieber for the country where I live. I was on vacation with my family in LA for a week but I didn’t meet Justin, so I told my dad to let me stay another week because I had a feeling I would meet Justin. Tuesday August 14, we arrived at the studio where Justin was rehearsing for the Believe Tour. I saw Kenny in his car and then saw that Moshe was in the van, they told us that Justin was going to take pictures after he was done with lunch. We waited 45 minutes and then the van was parked in the driveway and Moshe went and opened the door to say something to Justin. He closed it and a couple of seconds later, Justin came out and said, “What’s up guys?”  I was thinking he looks like how he does in pictures, like an angel. He started taking pictures and some fans were pushing and Moshe then said, “One at a time.” After it was my turn and I said, “Can you sign my iPod?” and he said, “Yes pretty.” OMG I was so nervous and happy. Then we took the picture and asked him if I could get a hug and he said sure. Then he said, “A pleasure to meet you.” I was so happy, I cried so much because I achieved my goal even though people didn’t believe in me.  Dreams do come true if you believe in them and it’s one thing I learned from Justin. I never gave up on meeting him and he is the sweetest boy ever. Thank you to my friends for always giving me hope and love. I’m happy and proud to say I met Justin Bieber. My idol, my inspiration. -@BieberWet  Read more: My name is Alejandra, I’m 17 years old and I’m from…

March 26th, is a day I will NEVER forget. It started off on…

March 26th, is a day I will NEVER forget. It started off on Friday March 23rd. I woke up at 6am, getting ready for school. My mom was late to work, and at 6:30 the radio automatically turns on, so my mom heard on the radio on kiis fm, “Do you wanna have breakfast with Justin Bieber? Submit me an email saying why you should meet Justin Bieber! I’ll pick out some of the biggest beliebers out there! Only a few will win!” My mom was like, “Nia you better email Ryan Seacrest if you wanna win breakfast with Bieber!” I was like OMFG. Imagine, having breakfast with him. I couldn’t, it seemed unreal. I told my mom that I didn’t have time to email him, so my mom volunteered to email it for me at work, so she did. I went to school, forgetting about the breakfast with Bieber thing because really I knew that I could never have breakfast with him, and whoever won breakfast with him would be SUPER lucky. I was in my science class, and I was listening to my ipod while working when my mom texted me saying, “OMG NIA YOU WON!!” I was like what, she’s joking right? Then she sent me a picture of Ryan Seacrest email saying “Congrats you’ve won the chance of a lifetime! etc.” I was freaking out so much in class, I wanted to scream. My mom even called my teacher! I wanted to cry so badly but, it still felt unreal, you know? I skipped school March 26th , I woke up at 4am and we got there around 6am. Me and my mom were the first people there. Justin was on the radio that day so first he went to the interview, then came to meet us. We didn’t get to actually have breakfast with him, they provided us with breakfast, then he would show up and then we would have a private meet and greet . There were 5 winners, and they got to bring 2 people, so total there were only 10 of us, which is really small considering that there are like MILLIONS of beliebers out there. When I saw Justin come out of his car, I seriously still didn’t believe it, it was all happening to fast. First was Kenny, then Alfredo, then Justin’s crew, then Scooter, then him. I freaked out like crazy. Justin went to his interview and stuff, and we got to go see him do his interview. He waved hi to me and I fangirled like no tomorrow. After that we went into a private room to meet Justin. Justin came in the room saying, “Heeeeeeeyyyyyy wassssuppp!!” I was like omg, he is the most adorable thing on earth. We got our pictures and stuff, and Justin looked right into my eyes and said, “It was really nice to meet you” I almost died. When he kissed my cheek, he let go slowly, so when he let go it made that kissing noise, I will never forget that noise.  I asked Kenny and Alfredo for a picture too, they really are really funny and nice. Scooter even let this girl’s mom in because she was waiting outside. Scooter said that if he ever saw us again, he’ll get us close up seats for the Believe tour. I even took a video so that if I ever see him again I’ll show him.  When he left, he gave us all high fives. There were like 2 little girls, 2 moms, me and my mom, this girl about like 14 or 15, her uncle, and these other 2 girls who were like 18 or something. It really was an amazing day. It still feels unreal. I never thought that I would be able to meet him. Every belieber WILL meet him,  just wait for the right moment. Never say never. -@ TheNiaBieber More here: March 26th, is a day I will NEVER forget. It started off on…

First Look: Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Bruce Willis as a Time-Traveling Assassin in Rian Johnson’s Looper

This fall you’ll see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as you’ve never seen him before: As Bruce Willis . In the sci-fi time-travel action pic Looper , from Brick director Rian Johnson , Gordon-Levitt plays Joe, an assassin who ties up loose ends for the mob by killing targets as they’re sent back in time from the future — until one day his own future self (played by Willis) comes through for extermination. Previewing a teaser for the September release at WonderCon , Johnson and Gordon-Levitt discussed the trickiness of transforming Gordon-Levitt into a young Willis, pulled off with the aid of prosthetics, and why it’s particularly difficult to talk about their time travel thriller. With Willis playing the older version of Gordon-Levitt, the younger actor had to transform in two ways to better resemble his onscreen future self. The first trick: Three hours of prosthetics each day, which lent Gordon-Levitt more of a physical likeness. “We basically had to figure out a way to sell Joe as a young Bruce Willis,” Johnson explained, giving much of the credit Gordon-Levitt’s performance, which he described as “this incredible high wire act of acting, where Joe is doing Bruce but at the same time he’s creating a unique character who has the Bruce voice.” “It’s kind of amazing to watch. It’s his own character that he created but at the same time you see that character and you believe in the movie that could be a younger version of the Bruce you’re seeing onscreen.” Gordon-Levitt adopted Willis’s mannerisms by studying how he delivered lines in previous films, and by observing the old-fashioned way: In the flesh. “I watched all of his movies and took the audio out of his movies and put them on my iPod so I could listen to them over and over again,” he said, “but by far the most productive part of the preparation process was just hanging out, shooting the shit, having dinner, taking about music — getting to know him.” The world of Looper is more grounded in a gritty reality than in a fantasy atmosphere, with the time-travel element serving as a tool rather than the film’s focus — a choice Johnson says was somewhat borne of necessity due to the inherent difficulties of tackling a time-travel story to begin with. “Any time time travel is part of a story it’s kind of this beast,” Johnson said. “From a writing standpoint it’s a problem because time travel never makes sense. Unless you’re Shane Carruth, who I think actually knows how time travel works, the best you can do is this magic trick where you distract the audience narratively from the fact that it actually doesn’t make sense.” Johnson turned to James Cameron’s Terminator as a model on how to use the time-travel element. “For me that was a really fun challenge: How do you have time travel be an element in the movie but convince the audience not to think about it so deeply that they’re ignoring the movie thinking, ‘But wait, this’ – or ‘But wait, that?’ The approach we took is that these guys are assassins who use time travel as part of their job. We’re just going to be with them, and they don’t know how this stuff works – they don’t know the science, they don’t care about grandfather paradoxes and all the complexities of message board comments on the i09 site about how it works and how it doesn’t. They’re showing up every day, a guy is appearing from the future and they’re shooting him – that’s their job.” Nathan Johnson, cousin to the director and composer on both Brick and The Brothers Bloom , came up with an inventive concept for the score to match. “He took this tape recorder out to New Orleans where we were shooting the movie and found all these sounds, sampled them, slowed them down 3000 percent,” explained Rian Johnson, “and basically using all these unconventional sounds built up a score that has the size of an orchestra. It’s this huge action movie score but the sounds that you’re hearing are just foreign to your ear.” All that said, Johnson and Gordon-Levitt found themselves choosing their words wisely talking up Looper . Johnson explained: “A big part of what’s fun about the movie is figuring out what it is, and figuring out what it’s going to be by the end of it.” Looper hits theaters on September 28. Steve Jobs To Receive Posthumous Grammy

iTunes creator will be honored with a special tribute at February awards show. By Henna Kathiya Steve Jobs Photo: Getty Images While Steve Jobs didn’t belt out soulful songs or create lyrical poetry like the artists typically honored each year by the Recording Academy, his singular contribution to the music industry has earned him a special tribute at the 2012 Grammy Awards . It was announced on Wednesday that the Apple co-founder will receive a posthumous Grammy in February. His innovative approach to downloading music through iTunes revolutionized music in an era where music piracy and illegal downloading was rampant. Jobs died in October after losing a seven-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Remember Steve Jobs’ many innovations by flipping through this photo gallery. The 56-year-old visionary will be remembered as having helped “create products and technology that transformed the way we consume music, TV, movies, and books,” according to a statement from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The award will also recognize “Jobs’ innovations such as the iPod and its counterpart, the online iTunes store, which revolutionized the industry and how music was distributed and purchased.” Not only is Jobs getting a Grammy but a bronze statue was recently erected in his honor in Budapest, Hungary. The statue was commissioned by Hungarian software company Graphisoft, which has had a close relationship with Apple since the 1980s, according to Reuters . News of Jobs’ death created waves throughout the world with the likes of President Obama and Nicki Minaj remembering the tech giant. The Apple co-founder is not the only one receiving a posthumous Grammy; trailblazer Gil Scott-Heron will also be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award come February 12.
