Police Officer Investigated For Trying to Snap Justin Bieber Jailhouse Pic

A South Florida officer is under investigation after attempting to take a photo of Justin Bieber while the star was in custody on DUI and other charges. Miami Beach police Sgt. Bobby Hernandez confirmed Friday that a female officer is being investigated for possible conduct unbecoming an officer. Punishments can range from a verbal reprimand to termination. The name of the officer trying to sneak a Justin Bieber photo has not been revealed. Bieber was arrested January 23 during what cops describe as an illegal street drag race, though whether he was actually drug racing is debatable. In addition to driving under the influence, the troubled 19-year-old pop singer was charged with resisting arrest and having an invalid driver’s license. Bieber, who was in a car with Chantel Jeffries , pleaded not guilty to all charges. Police say the officer attempted to photograph him while he was in a temporary holding cell, and a higher-ranking officer intervened to stop the attempt. An emotional Amanda Knox is vowing to fight her murder conviction once again, saying defiantly “this is wrong” and that she will never willingly return to Italy. A jury found Amanda Knox guilty yesterday in the 2007 slaying of Meredith Kercher, which she spent four years in prison for before being released on appeal. Amanda Knox Good Morning America Interview Prosecutors in Italy retried the case, however, and Knox was convicted a second time. She has been in the U.S. since her 2011 release, however. She wasn’t present for the retrial, and Friday morning, she struggled to hold back tears as she railed against the verdict, saying: “This is wrong.” Appearing on Good Morning America , the Seattle native expressed outrage at the verdict and 28 year sentence the Italian justice system handed down. She told Robin Roberts she is “going through waves of emotions” and said she couldn’t believe what she was hearing when the decision was read. “It really hit me like a train,” Knox revealed, with her chin quivering and her voice cracking throughout the interview. “I did not expect this to happen.” She said, “No, this is wrong,” about her guilty conviction and said she’s determined to fight, telling Roberts “I’m going to do everything I can to prove it.” Amanda Knox Photos: Through the Years Open Slideshow 1. Amanda Knox Verdict: GUILTY of Murder, Sentenced to 28 Years

An Italian court has returned a verdict in the third trial of Amanda Knox and her former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, in the 2007 death of Meredeth Kercher: Knox was found guilty of the crime for the second time in the notorious case. Amanda was sentenced to 28 years and six months in jail, though it’s rather unclear if she’ll ever serve even a day of that. More on that in a second. The first two trials produced flip-flop verdicts of guilty then innocent for Knox and Sollecito, who were acquitted on appeal in 2011 after four years in custody. An appeals court found that important evidence regarding blood and DNA had been handled improperly by investigators, leading to the released of the duo. But Italy’s supreme court, called the Court of Cassation, dismissed that ruling based on what it said was key evidence that had been omitted during the appeal. A new trial, at which Amanda Knox did not appear, began in 2013. The three-day deliberations were closely watched as jurors were tasked with either confirming or overturn the initial guilty verdict “as if the acquittal never happened.” Jurors deliberated into the night before delivering the guilty verdict that comes as a blow to Knox and Sollecito, who can lodge a further appeal with the Supreme Court. Experts say it is unlikely Italy will seek extradition until a verdict is finalized, a process that can take a year. She told Italian state TV in an interview earlier this month that she would wait for the verdict at her mother’s house in Washington “with my heart in my throat.” Knox’s absence does not formally hurt her case since she had been freed by a court and defendants in Italy are not required to appear at their trials. However, judge Alessandro Nencini reacted sternly to her emailed statement, noting that defendants have a right to be heard if they appear in person. Some experts say it is unlikely Knox will return to Italy. Ever. Because U.S. law dictates that a person cannot be tried twice on the same charge, she is likely to fight extradition on those grounds if Italy seeks it. Sollecito, meanwhile, did appear at the trial and faces arrest.

Pregnant Nun Shocks Italy with Birth, Had No Idea She Was Expecting

We’ve heard of nuns on the run. But never of a nun on the child birth table. Until now. A Salvadorean member of the cloth told reporters she had no clue she was pregnant late last week after she felt cramps in her stomach, summoned an ambulance… and then gave birth a few hours later. The 31-year old unknowingly welcomed a nine-pound boy into the world on Wednesday and named him Francis, after the Pope . “I did not know I was pregnant. I only felt a stomach pain,” the nun said not long afterward, according to the Italian news agency ANSA. The nun belongs to the “Little Disciples of Jesus” convent in Campomoro, Italy which manages an elderly people’s home. She will reportedly keep the baby, as other new mothers in the local hospital have started to collect clothes and donations for her. No word yet from anyone at the hospital, but the new mother’s fellow nuns were apparently “very surprised” over the news. Yeah. We would assume so.

The supermodel, 28, begins to say “Merry Christmas” in the video, which has now been removed from her account, before her husband, 34, reaches in. Chrissy then pretends to look distressed as she asks for “help” … The pair went on to play-fight, but perhaps after receiving some worried responses from fans, she decided to remove the video from her Instagram. Though the match was ultimately meaningless for Italy since they have already qualified for Brazil, Balotelli’s goal marked yet another instance of the 23-year-old overcoming intense scrutiny and constant criticism to score goals when they’re needed. The latest round of Balotelli controversies began with his selection for international duty even though he was given a three-match ban for verbally abusing the referee in Milan’s loss to Napoli last month. That was followed by an attempt to manufacture outrage when he shoved a camera that was being jammed in his ear and finally by media suggestions that he needs to be a better anti-mafia role model that resulted in an MP calling him an “imbecile.” That carried on right until kickoff against Armenia with Balotelli starting on the bench. Armenia stunned Italy by scoring in the fifth minute, but six minutes after they took a second lead in the 70th minute, Andrea Pirlo connected with Balotelli with an excellent pass that Balotelli expertly finished. He didn’t celebrate. He just picked up the ball and carried on the with the match. After the final whistle, Balotelli didn’t stop to chat with the press in the mixed zone. This lady didn’t give a phuck. Teacher Has Angry Tirade Over The Term African-American Poor thang probably went off over her paycheck. These teachers don’t get enough money. According to Raw Story A Los Angeles teacher whose profanity-laced tirade was caught on an audio recording admits a student heckler got the best of her. The outburst took place Sept. 26 during a lesson on race and ethnicity at the Humanities and Art Academy in Harbor City, The Daily Breeze reported Wednesday. The teacher, whose name has not been released, said she was trying to explain that the term, “African-American,” is at least partially inaccurate. “You’re an American first,” she said, adding that her family came from Italy, but she doesn’t call herself an Italian-American. The teacher said one student repeatedly told her she was wrong and then used her cell phone to record the teacher’s angry reaction. “I know my f–-g s—t,” the teacher can be heard saying. “Don’t f—- with that. I’m tired of trying to educate you, and you guys resist every step of the f—–g way. Get the f—- out of here.” The teacher admits she lost her cool, but she said she was also hurt that the student had recorded her outburst and then turned the recording over to another faculty member with whom she doesn’t get along. “I was trying to explain the difference between race and ethnicity, and this girl kept poking the bear,” she said. She also pointed out that the student had broken school rules by using her cell phone in class. The teacher has been placed on paid leave while the Los Angeles Unified School District investigates the incident. Students told KTLA-TV that they had forgiven the teacher, saying that students at the school can be tough on faculty members. “It is wrong to be cussing, at students especially, but a lot of kids here aggravate the teachers,” student Aaron Taylor said. “She’s a good teacher. Everybody makes mistakes and she’s only human.” Another student pointed out the teacher had apologized. “Everybody forgave her,” Summer Washington said. “That’s our favorite teacher.” But another student told KNBC-TV that the 10-year veteran teacher should be fired. “They’re not supposed to react like that no matter what the situation was,” said student Carla Mateo.
