VIDEO: Judd Apatow Offers Oscar Host James Franco Advice About Cunnilingus Jokes

Maybe James Franco is a little more worried about co-hosting this year’s Oscars than he originally led on . In a new video, the actor frantically (well, this is as frantic as anyone has ever seen James Franco) seeks hosting pointers from Pineapple Express scribe — and Producers Guild Awards host — Judd Apatow. Naturally, this advice covers the perennial appropriateness of cunnilingus jokes at black tie events. You’re going to want to see this for yourself.

It’s unofficially Kim Cattrall Day at Movieline! Woo! How dubious! First we got our anti-hopes up for Sex and the City 3 , and now new pictures from Cattrall’s film Meet Monica Velour are out . REVIEW: Let’s Just Shoot I Am Number Four Back Into Space, OK?

Anyone who has ever been a child or played with one is familiar with the narrative universe of I Am Number Four , a teen alien/superhero/savior/vampire mash-up that’s all guts and no glory. In it, things happen in an order that’s too erratic to be called a sequence and yet too processed to amount to much of a story. Props, plot points, and ass-saving contingencies erupt only on the point of crisis, as they do in child’s play: Oh you’re an alien from a far-off planet? Well I am a different alien sent to kill you ! Oh you suddenly have superpowers to deflect my intergalactic weapons? Well guess what–I have a monster Fire-proof shield!

Can You Honestly Tell the Difference Between Glee and Kidz Bop’s ‘Tik Tok’?

This Glee show that Julie likes is out of control. It’s unfunny, witlessly tone-shifty, and a pox on this Golden Age of Television that keeps happening. Also, the “music” is scathing! Case in point: In the musical preview for next week’s episode, we hear the show’s clear-best character Brittany lead Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok.” Compare that rendition to the Kidz Bop Kids version and tell me if there’s really any difference (besides the awesomely kid-friendly lyrics).

Fanboys Rejoice! Shane Black to Direct, Maybe Pen Iron Man 3

Writer-director Shane Black is reportedly in negotiations to direct Iron Man 3 , taking over from series helmer Jon Favreau for the threequel, which is already slated for release on May 3, 2013. But hey, no pressure! Two years should be plenty of time for the guy who wrote Lethal Weapon in six weeks. Besides, Black’s got plenty of qualifications that should inspire fanboy confidence. Such as:

Report: Mila Kunis to Join James Franco in Sam Raimi’s Oz

Everyone’s favorite Oscar-snubbee Mila Kunis is reportedly set to join Sam Raimi’s Oz, the Great and Powerful , the lonnnnng-gestating Wizard of Oz prequel with James Franco attached as the title character. Kunis would play Evanorah, the young witch-in-training who develops into the Wicked Witch of the East. Of course. Shooting is rumored to begin in July, but I think we all know Raimi’s protracted dawdling really portends an awesome Oz / Sex and the City 3 Memorial Day showdown in 2016. Or something. [ Vulture ]

The actor James Franco, who is also hosting the Oscars with Anne Hathaway, will appear the soap on episodes airing Feb. 25 and Feb 28 (at 3 p.m. ET) to “wreak havoc” on the fictional town of Port Charles, according to a release from ABC, and to “make an important phone call to his nemesis Jason Morgan” (played by Steve Burton), who appears in a behind-the-scenes shot with Franco. Is James Franco Your New Man Behind The Curtain In Oz: The Great And Powerful?

Well, this is a horse of a different color. After Robert Downey, Jr. had to drop out playing the huckster Wizard of Oz for Sam Raimi’s new adult re-imagining, the studio had their heart set on the other resident weirdo of Hollywood, Johnny Depp, to take on the role. But Depp passed and now there’s a new oddball contender: professional multi-hyphenate James Franco .

VIDEO: James Franco Makes His Own Oscar Promo with an iPhone

I guess this video of James Franco rocking out while an assistant shaves him with what looks like a disposable razor is a promo for his Oscar hosting gig. According to the description, “James likes to relax with a nice shave and a song before he hosts any award shows.” Alright James, don’t you mean three weeks before you host any awards show? In any case, if you were sad that you missed Franco’s karaoke at Sundance, this will help make up for it. And his song choice is fantastic.
