It looks like the James Franco Instagram scandal was real, and really embarrassing for the star, who apologized for it on Live with Kelly and Michael today. If you missed it, screen grabs of the actor flirting with a teenage girl via Instagram went viral, and were apparently not a hoax to promote his movie Palo Alto . “I was feeling awkward … I didn’t want to come on the show and just feel awkward,” James Franco, 35, confessed to Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. “I’m embarrassed, and I guess I’m just a model of how social media is tricky.” James Franco on Live with Kelly and Michael “It’s the way that people meet each other today, but what I’ve learned – I guess because I’m new to it – is you don’t know who’s on the other end.” “You get a feel for them, you don’t know who you’re talking to,” he lamented, adding that by any measure. “I used bad judgment and learned my lesson.” On April 3, images surfaced of an exchange between Franco and 17-year-old fan Lucy Corde, whom he asked, “What’s the hotel? Should I rent a room?” When Corde replied that his comment could have been part of an April Fool’s joke, Franco sent a selfie confirming it was him, then kept on flirting. Eventually, when he learned his young admirer was not 18, James bailed on the conversation, but soon enough, it became a nationally trending story. Many people speculated that it was a clever ploy to publicize his new movie, in which he plays a teacher who falls for a student (Emma Roberts, below). This is either not the case, or he’s a really, really good actor. None of the 8.7 million entrants were still in the hunt to win Warren Buffett’s $1 billion basketball challenge … after the second day of the NCAA Tournament. The famed investor promised $1 billion to anyone who could fill out the perfect bracket – every game, from start to finish – in this year’s tournament. He won’t be sweating it out even on the first weekend. After a single game on the NCAA March Madness tournament’s first day, when Dayton upset Ohio State, more than 80 percent of hopefuls were out. Mercer’s win over Duke Friday finished off almost everyone else. Three players with perfect brackets remained early Friday night, but after the late games, the standings showed no one in the running for the big prize. It took just 25 games for every single person to be eliminated. Similiarly, at ESPN, only 18,741 of 11.01 million people (or 0.17 percent) got all 16 games right on the first day, ESPN’s Kevin Ota told ABC News. After two days … no one was left standing there either. The only other heartening news for Buffett’s busted bracket entries? A consolation prize is still up for grabs if you’re doing particularly well thus far. The 20 people who project the tournament’s top 20 most accurate “imperfect brackets” are still eligible to receive $100,000 each from Quicken Loans! That’s enough to keep you glued to the TV.

Seth Rogen and James Franco Mock Kimye Vogue Cover

As Seth Rogen said in a caption to the following photo, this simply “had to be done.” A day after the Kim Kardashian Vogue cover hit the Internet, Rogen Tweeted a Photoshopped image of himself and James Franco once again spoofing the reality star and Kanye West. The actors, of course, also parodied Kim and Kanye’s Bound 2 music video back in November. In that instance, Kim reacted to the mocking well, writing that Rogen and Franco “nailed it” and saying they’re version was “sooo funny.” But will she be as amused this time around, considering an appearance in Vogue marks a dream come true for Kim ? We’ll see. Neither Kardashian nor West have yet commented on this edited version of their cover. Allow us to go ahead and do so, however: HA!!! Just days after Lindsay Lohan’s sex list hit the Internet, Seth Rogen decided to make a list of his own. His is better? Less bizarre? It’s something. Give Kim Kardashian points for having a sense of humor. With the Internet buzzing over Seth Rogen and James Franco recreating the ridiculous Bound 2 music video with one of their own, appropriately titled ” Bound 3 ,” the reality star has taken to Twitter and given the duo full props. “You nailed it!!! Sooo funny!” Kim wrote yesterday, actually re-Tweeting the video. James Franco and Seth Rogen Film “Bound 3” And we’ve all seen the Kim Kardashian sex tape , right? This is someone who knows a thing or two about being nailed. Will Kanye West react in the same fun manner to the parody? We somehow doubt it. James Franco Helps Fan Get Back at Ex With Cute Facebook Photo

James Franco is a man of many talents. Actor, writer, director, professor and now a heartbreak hero to Greta Pasqua, 15, a young fan who was recently dumped. The star, 35, got wind of a viral story and made it an even bigger one. After learning the girl’s ex is “obsessed” with James, Franco himself decided to help her out by posing with her in the adorable snapshot below. “He said, ‘Post it on Facebook and tell him to eat his heart out!'” Greta’s dad says she “was really depressed because her boyfriend had just broken up with her,” but “James caught wind of it and gave her a pep talk.” Sounds like it worked. According to her dad, who spoke with Us Weekly: “Her ex is all of a sudden starting to think he made the wrong decision!” Serves you right, Greta’s ex!

James Franco Presents: Coming to Ovation!

James Franco has somehow found time in his schedule for yet another new gig. The actor/poet/graduate school student/ Rif Raff wannabe announced this morning that he will soon host a series titled James Franco Presents on Ovation… which apparently is a network and everything! In classic James Franco fashion, this is how he confirmed the program: artistic Instagram style! Franco will also serve as executive producer on what is billed via press release as “an unprecedented look at the fascinating projects and real-life adventures of Mr. Franco.” James Franco Presents “will document his provocative explorations of the world of art. From his gallery exhibits to his students’ films, the innovative series will also provide an exclusive opportunity to hear Mr. Franco’s point of view on his most-personal passion projects, most of which have not been seen by the public.” Aside from simply giving this Oscar nominee a platform for himself, the series will highlight up-and-coming artists. In his own words, the star kept a summary of the show nice and simple, writing over social media: It’s a “new TV series about art. Duuuh.”

Since it’s my job to introduce you guys to new hotties (and then to call dibs), here’s Ahna O’Reilly at a screening for the Steve Jobs movie. According to my research, Ahna is best-known for being in The Help and used to date James Franco, but since she’s cute, I’m not going to hold either of those things against her. She was also in some movie called Herpes Boy , so there’s that too. Anyway, apparently Ahna plays Jobs’ girlfriend in the movie, so her career is probably going to take off soon, and I’m happy to help.
