Wiz Khalifa ‘Kinda Freaked’ Out By Tupac Hologram

‘Dr. Dre and Snoop are alive, so that was pretty awesome to be up there with them,’ Wiz tells MTV News. By Rob Markman, with reporting by James Lacsina Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg didn’t just bring out the Tupac hologram at Coachella, they had some pretty awe-inspiring live guests as well: Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Warren G and Wiz Khalifa . Wiz marched onstage early on to perform his and Snoop’s platinum single “Young, Wild and Free” and wasn’t on hand to witness the holographic Tupac stunt. But the Pittsburgh MC was hyped to share the stage with the living legends. “I went out before the holographic Tupac so I actually didn’t get to share [the stage],” Khalifa told MTV News on Wednesday during a break from shooting the “Payphone” music video with Maroon 5. “It’s cool. Dr. Dre and Snoop are alive, so that was pretty awesome to be up there with them, but yeah, it was awesome.” Khalifa admitted that the ‘Pac-o-gram made him a bit uneasy though. “I don’t know, it kinda freaked me out,” he said. Kendrick Lamar , who performed his new single “The Recipe” alongside Dr. Dre that same night, was excited by the optical illusion. “It was just a crazy feeling, made me think of that one moment when I seen dude in real life,” K. Dot told MTV News. The Good Doctor told TMZ that he hopes to expand on the technology that was used to resurrect the fallen rap legend onstage. “Right now it’s flat, it just looks like it’s three-dimensional from the front. But I’m working on some new and different things for the future,” he said. “Hopefully, we can see Jimi Hendrix and Marvin Gaye. Let’s see what happens.” Related Photos Tupac’s Hologram At Coachella Related Artists Wiz Khalifa Tupac

MTV News was also on the Los Angeles set of the video for “Right There,” directed by Paul Hunter. The still-unreleased “Right There,” featuring a verse by Fif and produced by Jim Jonsin , will be the first U.S. single off Scherzinger’s long-awaited solo debut , Killer Love. (A version of the album, sans 50 Cent, is already out in Europe.) “I wanted to kinda keep the video pretty simple because I wanted it iconic,” the songstress said, decked out in an eye-popping orange jumpsuit and olive-green jacket. “The way you get iconic pictures and memorable videos is just by keeping it simple. So we’re in downtown L.A., and we’re just wearing super-fly colors, and we’re just feelin’ it Right now, we just shot a scene, it’s just us against the blue skies — it’s beautiful and we’re just feeling the song.” Fif, who looked dapper in a blood-red trench coat and matching cap, joked that he sought out the collab for other reasons. “Well, I was really wanting to date her,” the rapper said with a grin. “They played the song, and I said, ‘OK, I’ll do it. Maybe I’ll get a chance to do the video and be next to her and see what happens!’ ” Related Artists 50 Cent Nicole Scherzinger

Kendra Wilkinson Has A ‘Boxer’s State Of Mind’ On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

‘I want to fight, but … I have to realize that it’s a dance,’ she tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Kendra Wilkinson Photo: James Lacsina Kendra Wilkinson and her “Dancing With the Stars” partner Louis Van Amstel told MTV News they were working on a “fun” foxtrot for this week, and judging by their performance and the audience reactions, it looks like they succeeded. Wilkinson also told us that the “fun” aspect of the competition can be the most challenging — especially on performance nights. “Monday nights are nerve-racking for me,” she said. “I am giving it my all, though … but I can’t help but be nervous. “The anticipation of going into the dance is the worst,” Wilkinson continued. “I’m a boxer when it comes to that. I have a boxer’s state of mind. I’m going into it like a fight, almost,” she explained of her self-imposed intensity. “I want to win, I want to fight, but it’s not that. I have to realize that it’s a dance. I have to remain calm and relaxed. That’s what I’m trying to work on: not going into it like a fight, looking at it like a dance.” But Van Amstel pointed out that his partner’s intensity and commitment make for an excellent student. “I think from all the celebrities, the one who picks it up the fastest is Kendra,” he said. “It is purely the anticipation [on] show day, really psyching herself out, like a boxer does. Your opponent needs to go down,” he said of trying to help soothe tough mentality, “but in the end, it’s only us on the dance floor.” “I really thought last week we were going to be gone, but we have such an amazing fanbase that they voted us through,” Wilkinson said of her fans. “And I’m just so happy.” Do you think Kendra and Louis have what it takes to stick around for another week? Tell us in the comments!

Kendra Wilkinson Promises ‘Fun’ Foxtrot On ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Playboy bunny says this week’s routine is ‘more Kendra.’ By Kara Warner Kendra Wilkinson Photo: James Lacsina LOS ANGELES — After last week’s traditional yet slightly uneventful classical performances on “Dancing With the Stars,” fans and castmembers alike are excited about what possibilities are ahead with Monday night’s (April 18) far more open-ended American Week. MTV News was lucky enough to be invited to the official “DWTS” rehearsals studio Friday to get a sneak peek of Kendra Wilkinson and Louis Van Amstel’s routine. Despite having the lowest ranks from the judges last week — they scored 18 out of 30 points for their waltz — Wilkinson and Van Amstel made it through to another round of competition and are eager to start fresh with a brand-new, energetic routine. “It’s week five, we have foxtrot, and it’s American Week,” Van Amstel told us. “American Week,” Wilkinson echoed. ” My week.” Cut to Wilkinson strapping herself into her dancing shoes and Van Amstel giving her a few quick stage directions before they got down to business rehearsing their foxtrot. “There’s no way I can’t have fun with this dance on Monday night,” Wilkinson said. “The song is amazing, everybody knows it,” she promised. “Dancing to it you just get so happy. I’m excited about it.” Wilkinson went on to say that with this dance, she’s able to put a lot more of herself into it, versus several of her prior routines. “With ballroom dancing, you think very classy, sophisticated, the whole Cinderella [image], whatever, but this week is going to be fun,” she said. “More Kendra, for sure.” Are you rooting for Kendra on “Dancing With the Stars”? Dom has been making noise on the underground for some time and now he’s packing shows in a city near you. The Cali MC recently dropped his latest mixtape, The Original Dom Kennedy, and he told Mixtape Daily that it reflects the sides of him that have been missing from his previous projects. “It was a part of me that wasn’t in all of those projects, and with The Original Dom Kennedy, it was a time for me to take a stand in music. The way we grew up and our lifestyle, being kids from the inner city of Los Angeles. I just felt like that was missing,” Dom said. Joints to Check For
