Gay Couple Saves Life of Homophobic Neighbor | Gay Rights | Change.org

Need any further proof that love always outlasts hate? Check out this story from Birmingham (United Kingdom)( http://www.sundaymercury.net/news/midlands-news/2010/08/02/birmingham-gay-couple… ), where a gay couple tormented by a neighbor's homophobic remarks — to the point where the neighbor was fined and served with a police order — end up saving his life from a deadly house fire. The story comes from the Sunday Mercury, which had a chance to speak to the gay couple, Bryn and James Tudor. Turns out they're a pretty famous gay couple. In 2005, they were the first gay couple in all of Birmingham to commit to each other in a civil partnership( http://www.queerty.com/birminghams-first-married-gays-james-and-brynn-tudor-save… ) — a pretty cool thing to put on your resume. But their marriage didn't please their neighbor, Baljit Koonar, none too much. For years, Koonar would taunt the gay couple with homophobic remarks, verbally harassing and bullying the Tudors to the point where they almost thought about packing up and moving to a different neighborhood. “We had put up with his verbal abuse for years – it affects you every day,” said Bryn Tudor. “[But we] did not want to give in to the bully.” For Koonar's sake, it's a good thing this couple didn't move. Because had James and Bryn not been there on the night that Koonar's house caught on fire, who knows how this story would have turned out. “I was sleeping when something woke me up at around 5am. I could taste smoke in the back of my mouth,” James Tudor told the Sunday Mercury. “I couldn’t see anything out of the front window, but when I went to the back there was smoke billowing out of next door and the family were on the roof.” And that's when this gay couple sprang into action. The couple, along with some help from other neighbors, grabbed a ladder and used it to get Koonar's family — his wife, their two kids, and a grandmother — off the roof of the burning house. According to James Tudor( http://www.queeried.co.uk/gay-couple-homophobic-abuse-rescue/ ), in the literal heat of the moment, everything became about how to save lives rather than the history of tension between these two houses. “Our thoughts weren’t about him. We wanted to get the kids down as soon as we could. You don’t think about anything that person has done, it’s just about the value of human life,” Tudor said. Kind of makes you think, right? The person you treat with homophobic, transphobic, racist, or sexist remarks today may just end up being the same person who one day saves your life. added by: toyotabedzrock

Wade, James and Bosh, and the role players

Miami Heat made their cap space cleared and won the jackpot of getting the Wade, James and Bosh to take the trip to championship. After signing the three of the most celebrated free agents, Heat made their moves to re-sign Udonis Haslem who played for the Heat since 2003 draft. Haslem signed a five-year deal worth $20 million, a roughly $14 million less than he could have received if he chose the offers of either Dallas Mavericks or Denver Nuggets. “This is a combination of having a great opportunity to win, which is why we play this game, and an opportunity to still stay close to my family and be with my mother,” Haslem said, “And also, the opportunity to be a part of something special. We all play this game to win. I’ve never been a person driven by money. I would be changing my DNA if I left just for money,” he added. James, Wade and Bosh took less than what they could have received from other teams individually. With that, Heat will be able to sign certain players that will complement the game of the Big Three. Haslem will take the supporting role. With Haslem’s signing, another thing he considered was Mike Miller’s possible trade to Miami Heat for Michael Beasley. These two gentlemen are extremely close friends. They were both Florida Gators. Upon LeBron’s decision in moving to south beach, Miller considered following James. Miller’s agent, Arn Tellem, wrote on his blog, that Miller talked with four teams, not including the Heat, but that his future “hinged on LeBron’s.” James picked Miami, so Miller followed, and Tellem compared Miller to the Ringo Starr on this new Heat team of stars. “Mike welcomes the chance to be the Ringo in a hot combo that already includes LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh,” Miller’s agent said. As part of the Miami’s rebuilding team, Chalmers, Wade, Miller, James, Haslem and Bosh, there is still a position that is yet to be filled, the center position. Is Zydrunas Ilgauskas ready to leave Cleveland to follow his friend LeBron in Miami? There are speculations that the “Big Z” will be joining his former teammate in MIami. Will he be the next “Cleveland coward?” as labeled by the Cleveland Owner Dan Gilbert about James moving to Miami. Actual Devon James Baby Daddy Denies DNA Test, Porn Star Still Trying to Bilk Tiger Woods

Devon James says Tiger Woods fathered her love child. A DNA test proved otherwise … or so we were informed. Tiger Woods wants Devon James’ paternity claim thrown out because another guy was already determined to be the father, according to a 2002 test … but that other guy is now saying he never even took a DNA test. Bizarre. As we previously reported, documents filed back in 2002 show there is a 99.9 percent chance that Pele Watkins fathered Devon James’ son Austin T. James. Not the case, says Pele. Devon James has demanded Tiger Woods take a paternity test. The golfer has not done so, as all evidence has pointed to him not being the father of her son. In an August 1, 2009, letter Watkins, writing from prison, tells James he never took a DNA test. At one point he wrote, “They will never get DNA from me.” He closes the letter, “I never took a DNA test but tell your mom I will fight her for messing wit [sic] me in jail.” Well, that really clears everything up there. Sources say Devon plans to file the letter with the court in response to Tiger’s motion to dismiss the case, indicating that she’s likely to press on with it. It’s almost like she’s still dragging this out for money or something. Tiger’s kid?
