Usher, Beyonce Collaborator Rico Love Talks ‘Organic’ Songwriting Process

‘I don’t write anything down,’ Love says. By Shaheem Reid Rico Love Photo: MTV News Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native Rico Love came full circle when he got a chance to work with Usher on the singer’s Raymond v. Raymond LP — Rico was signed to Usher’s US Records as a rapper around five years ago. While waiting to release his debut album, Rico showed Ush his other talent — penning R&B songs, which led to him writing one of the premier cuts on Confessions, “Throwback.” Rico started working on his own rap album with producers such as Cool & Dre befored Usher pulled the plug. “I was working on the record, and in the middle of the record Usher decided he wanted to take a step back from the label. He had a lot going on. We understood that. I was left on J. Records and I decided I wasn’t getting a lot of love in the building. I love J. Records, but I don’t think they was recognizing me. So I kind of moved out the building and moved out to L.A. and started focusing on the songwriting. You know me — I just hustled until I got out there and put my money where my mouth was.” Rico’s songwriting breakthrough came in 2008 when he penned “Love Like This” for Natasha Bedingfield’s Pocket of Sunshine album. Through Bedingfield, Love connected with producer Jim Jonsin and moved to Miami. After changing managment, good things started to happen. He was soon working with Pleasure P on The Introduction of Marcus Cooper album and out of those sessions came the Grammy-nominated single “Boyfriend #2.” Work for Jamie Foxx and Beyonc

What Rehab? Lindsay Lohan Partying Like a Madman

She is going broke . Friends worry she will die . But rehab be damned. This week on the party circuit, Lindsay Lohan ran into a few of her old carousing companions, including Paris Hilton, and former flame Samantha Ronson. Amazingly, not a single police reports is believed to have been filed! First, she hit Bardot, where Sam was chilling. The twosome somehow kept the peace. “Things seemed amicable between Linds and Sam,” a source said. “Usually the pair doesn’t engage. They did this time in a friendly way.” Will Lindsay Lohan get help before it’s too late? After that, it was off to a private party in the Hills where Paris Hilton was on hand but trying to stay incognito. Amazingly, Paris may be a good role model for Lindsay. Lohan partied until 6 a.m., with bodyguard in tow and cigarette in hand. On the plus side, she didn’t fall like she did last weekend at Les Deux. Stumbling outside the infamous club, she ended up in the fetal position in the back seat of her car. No cacti were involved, but nevertheless, another crazy night for LL. Classy chick, this one. You really wonder when and if she’ll get a clue. The only good thing we can say here? Michael Lohan has yet to comment because he’s too busy getting engaged to and trying to procreate with Kate Major . Gross.

Sources: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, Jamie Foxx and Others Have Large Penises

How did Brian Austin Green land Megan Fox ? Why did Heather Locklear date David Spade? What inspired Jennifer Love Hewitt to sleep with Jamie Kennedy? Finally, after years of wondering about such dating mysteries, we’ve been supplied with the answer: these men are among those in Hollywood that have penises longer than eight inches. That’s what sources tell Life & Style , at least, as the tabloid reports these well-endowed gents “have nicknames like Tripod and Crooked Stick.” Read Between the Thighs: A five -fingered wave, plus a two -fingered peace sign, plus one Ashton Kutcher equals eight inches of manhood. Does this mean Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher and Jamie Foxx (pictured, all of whom are also on the list) have been bragging about their girth around town? Not exactly. “Most of these guys don’t know one another,” the magazine states. “But as so many of their exes in LA have been spreading around the gossip about them, when they bump into each other, they give a knowing nod.” Moreover, when they bump uglies with the opposite sex, they give a thrust that few can equal.

Jamie Foxx and Howard Stern Engage in Immature Feud

After this year’s Academy Awards , while most viewers were praising the personality and presence of Gabourey Sidibe at the ceremony, Howard Stern was taking a different stance. On the air, he referred to the Oscar nominee as “an enormous woman the size of a planet.” In response, Jamiee Foxx called Stern out, seemingly inviting a feud between the stars and saying he hopes it gets “hot” because Stern “hasn’t really made a big splash in a long time.” Relevance in the entertainment universe challenged, Stern replied to the actor this week, playing the same immature, uncreative card that’s been played in so many arguments between men: Oh yeah? You’re gay! “He seems to be in some bizarre thing where he wants to start in with me so that he can get some attention for his channel on [radio show] Foxxhole, which is an interesting name too. The hole. I wonder which hole they’re referring to? How many holes are in Jamie? He’s got an ass and a mouth. I don’t know what he does with them,” Stern said, adding: “It’s interesting that he chose the name Jamie, I could get into the whole f-cking thing… My guess is we’re probably not on the same team. I think he’s playing for a way different team. I don’t know what team he’s on, but it ain’t my team.” Foxx’s take? “I’m not gay… A lot of people say that I’m gay and that doesn’t bother me, because I could eat a pizza in a male shower and not feel anything because I’m secure with myself. And I’m not gonna take that, Coward Stern. I’m not gonna take that from a person who has chronic gonorrhea.” So, to review: Stern says Foxx is gay. Foxx replies by making up a nickname for Stern and claiming he has an STD. It may be tough to choose a winner in this intelligent debate, but do your best: Whose side are you on?

Nicolette Sheridan Sues Marc Cherry for $20 Million, Singsong Narrator Dumbfounded

What has Nicolette Sheridan been up to since she was written out of Desperate Housewives ? Oh, nothing…unless you mean the $20 million lawsuit she just levied at Housewives creator Marc Cherry, alleging that she was the victim of assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. If Housewives were as juicy as the contents of this lawsuit, I might start watching it again:

Week two sees everyone from Simon Cowell to Kristen Stewart stopping by to chat, with other second-week guests including “Inglourious Basterds” star Christoph Waltz, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Kim Kardashian, Colbie Caillat, Dakota Fanning and Judd Apatow. After the cancelation of his 10 p.m. show, Leno took the “Tonight Show” seat back from Conan O’Brien in a move that had many fans and celebrities speaking out against NBC, including Sarah Silverman and “Southland” star Ben McKenzie. “I had a show; my show got canceled,” Leno told Oprah Winfrey on her show last month. “They weren’t happy with the other guy’s show. They said, ‘We want you to go back.’ I said, ‘OK.’ And this seemed to make a lot of people really upset. And I go, ‘Well, who wouldn’t take that job, though? Who wouldn’t do that?’ And it was really agonizing. And I would spend a lot of time just thinking about it, going, ‘I think I’m a good guy. Am I not a good guy?’ Maybe I’m just one of those guys who thinks I see everything with the rose-color glasses and the world is falling around you.”

Lauren Conrad Tops New York Times Best Seller List Again

Former ‘Hills’ star’s second young-adult novel, Sweet Little Lies, makes it to #1 on Children’s Chapter Books list. By Jocelyn Vena Lauren Conrad Photo: Getty Images It seems in Lauren Conrad’s world it’s not just the lies that are sweet. Her second young-adult novel, Sweet Little Lies, released less than a year after her first, L.A. Candy, is the former “Hills” star’s latest book to hit the top of the best seller list. Conrad has topped the New York Times list for Children’s Chapter Books for the week of February 21 for Lies, which was published earlier this month. In a statement to People, Conrad said that it feels good that her book is a success. “It’s so gratifying for my second book to be so successful and it was so fun to write! The characters were already developed so I really enjoyed the process so much more this time around,” she said. “All the characters have become like my friends now. “I just sat in bed writing and it was the best process,” she continued. “Who gets to work from home in their PJs? I’m just so thankful to my fans. Everyone is coming out to see me in the snow. I just can’t believe it.” MTV News checked in with Conrad while she was in New York promoting the book, and she said that this time around her heroine, Jane, finds that her life is about to get a lot more complicated thanks to the pitfalls of fame. “I think that if fans take anything away from the book, [they should realize] there’s a back side to every story,” she explained. “And when you’re reading tabloids and seeing these people’s lives exposed, it does affect them and it is hard to go through as a young girl.”

‘We Are The World’ Remake Premieres Tonight During Olympics Opening Ceremonies

Director Paul Haggis and producer RedOne give a preview of the Haiti benefit single and video. By Jocelyn Vena Wyclef Jean, Kanye West and Jennifer Hudson perform at the “We Are The World 25 Years for Haiti” Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage “We Are the World — 25 for Haiti” is set to premiere on Friday night (February 12) at 7:30 p.m. ET, during the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Vancouver. The song features appearances by a number of artists including Janet Jackson, Justin Bieber, Jordin Sparks, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Pink — along with some newly added artists who won’t be revealed until the remake airs. But while we wait for the debut of the Haiti benefit, organized by Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones, we have a preview from the people behind the song. “I just keep the class of the original one,” producer Wyclef Jean also said he added a “Haitian influence” to the song. The video’s director, Paul Haggis , also spoke to MTV News about his involvement in the project and admitted he “embraced the chaos” of shooting everyone from Celine Dion to Kanye West, most of whom recorded the track on February 1 in Los Angeles. “You hear these stories about people checking their egos at the door, and it really is true,” the “Crash” director explained. “They came and stood forever and were glorified extras a lot of the time. They just stood in the corner and waved.” Even in a room full of stars, the participants put the cause, helping raise money for Haiti’s earthquake recovery, above all else. “It was hot and it was crowded,” Haggis said, but as a director, he was almost disappointed by how well everyone got along. “When there’s chaos, there’s friction. Where there’s fiction, there’s drama, and I knew I’d have fun things to shoot. Unfortunately, there wasn’t as much drama as I expected. People really got along very well.” The video was shot in 3-D , and green-screen technology will eventually allow viewers at home to place themselves in the chorus. “You would think we have a full-blown motion picture going in there,” Richie marveled at a press conference earlier this month. “We have 3-D cameras, we have Technicolor cameras, we have every imaginable form of technology. You can put yourself into the ‘We Are the World’ family from the computer.” The other “We Are the World” artists include Miley Cyrus, Wyclef Jean, Jamie Foxx, Josh Groban, Keri Hilson, Zac Brown Band, Akon, Brandy, Melanie Fiona, Mya, Musiq Soulchild, Katharine McPhee, Trey Songz, Faith Evans, Joel and Benji Madden, members of Sugarland, Jennifer Hudson, Jason Mraz, India.Arie, Mary Mary, Tyrese Gibson, Raphael Saadiq, Rob Thomas, Usher, the Fray’s Isaac Slade, pianist Ethan Bortnick, Enrique Iglesias, Robin Thicke, Jamie Foxx, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, the Jonas Brothers, Nicole Scherzinger, Julianne Hough, Barbra Streisand, Carlos Santana, Natalie Cole, BeBe Winans, Orianthi, Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson, Freda Payne, Harry Connick Jr., Earth, Wind & Fire, the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson and Al Jardine, Tony Bennett, composer A.R. Rahman, “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson, Patti Austin and Gladys Knight. Actors Jeff Bridges, Vince Vaughn and Jimmy Jean-Louis were there, as well as some “WATW” offspring: Nicole Richie (Lionel’s daughter), “Parks and Recreation” star Rashida Jones (Quincy’s daughter) and the members of 3T (the sons of Tito Jackson), Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson. All proceeds from “We Are the World” singles and video sales will go to the newly formed charity We Are the World Foundation LLC and will then be distributed to Haiti relief efforts.
