Why Megan Mullally is Bad for Party Down

With the backing of much Internet praise — praise, which seems inversely proportional to the show’s actual viewers — the second season of Party Down premiered on Starz last night. Altogether now: Hooray! And while “Jackal Onasis Backstage Party” was slow, moderately funny, incredibly awkward and fairly depressing — so, y’know, a perfect episode of Party Down — one thing stood out like a sore thumb: the presence of Megan Mullally. Who let her in this building?

The beloved ’99-’01 WB series featured Melissa Etheridge’s ex Tammy Lynn Michaels as high school queen bee Nicole Julian, and during one pep squad rehearsal, Nicole summoned the noir lighting and geometric poses of the Material Guru’s gayest (and greatest) video. Glee Does Madonna: Rating the Leaked Songs

Are you tired of Glee yet? Well, too bad! The Fox series continues to permeate the cultural zeitgeist and it doesn’t show any signs of stopping. And if you believe the hype, the all-Madonna episode airing Tuesday is going to be the biggest television event ever . Including the Fox-sanctioned Jane Lynch video for “Vogue,” four of the ten songs from the episode have leaked onto the Internet in the last couple of days. Jane Lynch Confirms Engagement to Lara Embry

It’s been a few months since the rumors first broke , but Jane Lynch confirmed them over the weekend: she’s engaged to Lara Embry! At an event in Los Angeles on Saturday, the actress was asked about marrying her long-time psychologist of a girlfriend. She replied to Us Weekly : “Yes, yes, it’s true! We don’t have any plans at all yet. But I have a ring and everything. We’re very happy and very excited!” Lynch has starred in such hit movies as Best in Show and has appeared on numerous hit shows, among them Criminal Minds and Two and a Half Men . She currently plays Sue Sylvester on Glee . As for Glee spoilers (the incredible Fox comedy returns with new episodes tomorrow night), Lynch offered the following: “Olivia Newton John visits and we do the Physical video together. I sing ‘Let’s Get Physical.'” Amazing.
