Teen Mom 2 Recap: The Puerto Rican Baby Shower Blues

This week on Teen Mom 2, Briana’s baby shower went downhill in a hurry when Luis showed up, while Jenelle finally had her day in court. Elsewhere, Kailyn struggled with juggling school, the boys, Javi, Jo, and Leah considered her all options regarding Ali’s special needs. Watch Teen Mom 2 Season 9 Episode 9 Online Yes, things got pretty rough for Kailyn on  Teen Mom 2 Season 9 Episode 9 . All those kids and dads … it’s hard emotionally. And logistically. For instance, she was forced to Lincoln and Isaac to school after realizing that Javi was driving too small of a car for their child trade-off. “The queen gets whatever she wants,” Javi snarked, even before she gave him a hard time about the process, which can be stressful. Still, the tensions get to them sometimes … like when Kail put the boys in a soundproof room to argue (they were super cute, FWIW). Later, Jo Rivera called and asked if he could see Isaac, she said no, and Jo told Vee Torres that he plans on going to court soon. The goal? To try to get more time with Isaac. As for the THIRD man in the picture these days, Kailyn seemed relatively sanguine about the prospect of raising a kid with Chris Lopez. She said he would never challenge her in court or want child support, unlike Javi and Jo … of course, if that’s true, what is the reason? Chris has been adamant about remaining off-camera and while the photo of Lopez holding Baby Lo last weekend was great, is it a priority? Does he want to be MIA whenever he wants and be present only when it’s convenient for him, not when Kailyn or the baby need him? We’re not judging or saying we can predict the future, but Lopez himself has made overtures toward being a peripheral figure at best. Just saying. And here’s hoping we won’t be. Meanwhile, Leah Messer got Ali an aide after her physical limitations continued to wreak havoc on her health, and her daily life. Chelsea also took Aubree out for a girls day out, and while MTV may try to make it appear otherwise, they are just the cutest. Jenelle finally had her day in court as her quest to win custody of Jace back reached a turning point … that did not go in her favor. Seriously, this is Jenelle we’re talking about. Finally, Briana DeJesus’ baby shower quickly took a bizarre turn when Luis Miguel and his friends showed up at it with a camera. Javi Marroquin: Moving On to a DIFFERENT MTV Show?!

If you watch Teen Mom 2 online , you know that the wildly popular reality series occasionally feels a bit overstuffed in its current season. The show has a new cast member in Briana DeJesus , and the other moms lives are as drama-packed than ever. So perhaps it’s not surprising that ancillary figures like Kailyn Lowry’s ex-husband, Javi Marroquin, are looking to move on to new projects. After all, these days, Kailyn is soon to welcome her third child , and her increasingly hectic life may well result in less screen time for Javi. So in an effort to maintain relevance, Marroquin is making moves, y’all. According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup , MTV is considering doing an all-star edition of The Challenge for the show’s 31st (!!!) season. Our older readers might remember the show with its original, ludicrously clumsy title, Real World/Road Rules The Challenge . In those days, The Challenge featured fan favorites from the network’s first two reality shows competing in various, um … challenges. More recent seasons have followed the network’s protocol of filling every series with generic pretty people, but now, it looks as though MTV execs are looking to return to pitting stars from other shows against one another. It makes sense that Javi would be among the first to get the call, as he’s mentioned his desire to compete on the show in numerous social media posts. Nothing has been confirmed thus far, but since The Challenge films for seven weeks beginning in September, so the schedule likely wouldn’t interfere with Marroquin’s TM2 duties. It wouldn’t be the first time that producers poached talent from another series, as the show addded castmembers from MTV’s Are You the One in 2014. They probably won’t have to do much convincing to get Javi to sign on, as we already know he’s a fan of MTV’s full slate of programming. Javi often tweets about other shows, and he briefly dated Madison Channing Walls of The Real World fame. There’s no word on how Kailyn feels about her ex’s new opportunity. But given how much her relationship with Javi has deteriorated in recent months, we’re guessing she wouldn’t mind if he takes off for a couple months. Javi Marroquin: Kailyn Lowry & I Are on Good Terms Now … But My Book’s Still Happening!

Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin are on better terms lately, but that’s not stopping her ex from pushing forward with his tell-all book. Which, in turn, could threaten to derail the tenuous non-aggression pact between the former Teen Mom 2 spouses. The irony. The father of Kailyn’s second son Lincoln says they’re playing nice these days, but his side of the story when it comes to their breakup? Well, it’s not always nice, and he’s telling it like it is. “I’ve been working on this book for a while,” Marroquin said of Heartlessly Hustled , an obvious play on Lowry’s own Hustle & Heart . “My story won’t change,” the 24-year-old reality star said, but he insists, “regardless of what’s in my book Kail knows it’s behind us.” That’s a fine line to walk. In Marroquin’s mind, it may be easy enough to compartmentalize past and present like that, but if Lowry reads something she dislikes? The smart thing to do if he’s really committed to co-parenting first would be to put this idea on the shelf (no pun intended) for awhile. By now, the sad and scandalous story is familiar to those who watch Teen Mom 2 online or read any sort of celebrity gossip at all: Lowry announced her divorce while he was on deployment in May 2016, after a six-month period that saw their marriage crumble. Because he was overseas with the U.S. Air Force, their passive-aggressive social media communication became a spectator sport. Then, only days after he returned home, he caught her with Chris Lopez , later revealed to be the father of Lowry’s third child. Their split quickly became more and more tumultuous. An already-strained relationship nearly reached a boiling point upon the reveal of Lowry’s third pregnancy, given their recent divorce. She and Marroquin divorced in part because she didn’t want any more kids; Javi obvious didn’t take the third-baby-daddy thing well. It reached a level in which Lowry filed a protection from abuse order after he showed up aggressively and sent her harassing texts.  Javi denied ever laying a hand on Kailyn, who never accused him of that either, but admitted she sought – and he agreed to – the order. Basically, he’s not allowed to contact her unless it’s regarding their son for a year. (Again, writing a tell-all book about her won’t help.) Since then, the two have mended fences somewhat. Kailyn has included Javi in family activities, both with their son and with Lowry’s older son Isaac, 7, from her relationship with Jo Rivera. Marroquin, who has accused Lowry of cheating on him, and who says he will not be raising Lowry’s third child , remains close to Isaac. As for what we can expect in Heartlessly Hustled? “Expect a story about a man who thought he figured out life. Lies and cheating were swept beneath his nose for a long time!” Javi says. Javi promises his memoir will “be the truth” of what Lowry – who he has implied wasn’t faithful – did to end their nearly four-year marriage. “The only reason I was coming out with that book was to make sure my story was out,” he said, following the release of Lowry’s memoir. In her book, she hit on his jealousy and control issues. “When he did things like demanding that I unlock my phone to prove I had nothing to hide,” she said, Javi made their marriage unbearable. Javi Marroquin: Hooking Up With Briana DeJesus’ Sister?!

When it was first announced that Briana DeJesus would be joining the cast of Teen Mom 2 , both fans of the show and DeJesus’ future co-stars reacted with a combination of irritation and befuddlement. They reasoned that the show already featured plenty of drama, and the addition of a fifth full-time cast member would result in a feeling of overkill. But producers clearly feel that Briana has what it takes to bring the Teen Mom turmoil to the next level – and she’s already proving them right without having filmed a single scene. If you watch Teen Mom 2 online , then you know that the show gets a lot of mileage out of the tension between Javi Marroquin and Kailyn Lowry, exes who have failed miserably in their attempts to form an amicable co-parenting relationship. In the months since their divorce, Kailyn has gotten pregnant for a third time (by a man whose identity she’s keeping secret), while Javi appears to be making the most of life as a young, single pseudo-celebrity. And it seems that these days, the 24-year-old is mainly interested in bedding fellow reality stars. Last month,  Javi briefly dated Madison Channing Walls . Now, he appears to be involved with Briana’s sister, Brittany DeJesus. As Radar Online reported today, Javi and Brittany hung out in Los Angeles over the weekend, and Javi documented the trip on Snapchat. The soon-to-be-co-stars (Brittany is expected to figure prominently in Briana’s storyline) enjoyed a night on the town and appeared to be very friendly with one another. Naturally, speculation that Javi and Brittany are more than just friends started circulating as soon as Javi began posting pics. But it wasn’t until the next morning that the rumors really started flying in response to this pic: As you can see, Javi snapped a photo of Brittany in bed, which led many fans to the conclusion that the TM2 stars spent the night together. Kailyn Lowry: Concerned About Javi Dating Ex-Heroin Addict?

Earlier this week, we learned that Javi Marroquin is dating Madison Channing Walls , a fellow MTV reality star who appeared on a season of the network’s long-running Real World series. Many fans expressed concern about the new relationship, as Madison frequently opened up about her checkered past during her time on the show. Walls is a recovering heroin addict , and while she’s been clean for more than two years, her run-ins with the law have left many fans wondering if she’s the right choice for Javi, a single dad who’s already endured a tremendous amount of drama over the past year.  And of course, fans are also wondering how Kailyn Lowry, no stranger to drama herself, is feeling about all of this. Kailyn is pregnant with her third child these days, and she’s already taken a lot of flak from fans who believe she’s been reckless and negligent in her personal life. Now, many are expressing their belief that Kailyn should come out and publicly condemn Javi’s relationship for the sake of her youngest son, Lincoln. Unfortunately for those folks, it seems Kailyn is entirely cool with the situation. “She knows Javi wouldn’t have her around if [drugs] were going to be an issue,” a source close to Kailyn tells Radar Online. “She’s glad he’s moving on and hopes he’s happy.” As if to drive the point home that Kailyn is completely chill about this whole thing, the source adds: “She wishes him nothing but the best.” Part of the reason she sees no cause for concern might be that Javi has apparently decided to hold off on introducing Lincoln and Chelsea, have a learned his lesson the hard way after breaking up with Cassie Bucka . “I learned from my past mistakes where I introduced him way too early on in a relationship, so now I know better,”  So hey, maybe Kailyn and Javi are capable of working out an amicable co-parenting relationship after all! There was a while there when it looked like they would be able to remain friends, but things went south quickly. ( Javi breaking into Kailyn’s home certainly didn’t help matters.) Increasingly combative former spouses Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin got into another massive argument on last night's Teen Mom 2 . Big surprise there … but what was this one about? In the clip below, Kailyn Lowry admits cheating on Javi Marroquin while he was deployed with the Air Force, or so it appears at the end. But it may not be that simple. Lowry’s ex came over to apologize, but within 30 seconds, he blasts her for banging other dudes and defends breaking into her house . Marroquin admits he entered Lowry’s home through the basement, and says he's sorry for his behavior, but doesn't act like it whatsoever. “You have to understand how crazy you’ve made me for six months,” Javi told Kailyn after she said not to apologize if there's a “but.” “You expect me to come home and everything is supposed to be cherries and flowers,” Javi said of their split and his return from deployment. Lowry said how she doesn’t care if he’s still listed as an owner of the house, he can't just do what he did after they're getting a divorce. His response? I sure as s–t can and I will! “If I want to come here tomorrow morning and randomly break a window to get in here I can!” Marroquin says, sounding almost unhinged. It's no surprise that Kailyn sought a protective order , citing alleged harassment and erratic behavior (he did not physically abuse her). Javi proceeded to say that he didn't realize at the time that Kailyn was going to be “sleeping with all these dudes” while he was overseas. Lowry was PISSED at that comment. She fired back, “I’m not 'sleeping with all these dudes.' Don’t sit here and try to make me sound like some ho while you were gone!” “I’m sorry that we weren’t going to work it out. Yeah I slept with someone else! Whoop dee f–king do,” Kailyn says in disgust.  There are a few ways to interpret this: 1. An admission of cheating on Javi; 2. An admission that she did sleep with someone else, but only after the couple decided to end their troubled marriage; 3. She's not confirming or denying that she slept with any guy(s), but making the point that it wouldn't change anything. Of course, we now know that Kail is expecting a baby her third baby daddy – not public knowledge while this was filmed.  Tyler Hill, JC Cueva and  Chris Lopez  are all rumored to be baby daddy possibilities, though Lowry hasn't confirmed the dad's identity. Jill Smokler, Scary Mommy Blogger, Announces Divorce; Gay Husband

Jill Smokler is best known for writing about her children. But the blogger behind wildly popular website Scary Mommy made news over the weekend for a heartfelt message she shared with readers about her marriage. Specifically, about the surprising reason why her marriage is coming to an end. Via an emotional post on Facebook, Smokler said on Satuday her husband is gay. The soon-to-be former couple has three kids and has been involved romantically for over two decades. “Yesterday, Jeff and I told our children that we are divorcing, after more than 17 years of marriage and 23 years of togetherness,” Smokler wrote. “We also told them that the impetus for the divorce is the fact that Jeff is gay. “Without getting into too much personal detail, this is a reality which we have faced together for many years.” She added: “For a very long time, the deep love we had for one another sustained us through the more difficult moments that our increasingly diverging sexuality created. “We have spent more than half of our lives inseparable, and we are very proud of the life and family we have built together. We have been true partners and friends; we are a kickass team. “And while we will no longer love each other as husband and as wife, we remain deeply committed to one another as partners and co-parents to the three most incredible kids we could ask for. “It’s our greatest hope that this experience translates into raising empathetic, caring and open-minded children who learn to embrace their differences… and respect and appreciate that which makes others different, too.” Jeff, meanwhile, went ahead and shared his side of this story on Scary Mommy. Explaining that he knew he was gay for about the last “four or five years,” he wrote the following: “I always knew I was different, but when you meet your soulmate when you’re 18 years old – only five years older than my own daughter is now – and that person is a woman, you simply think ‘thank God then, I can’t be gay.” Jeff and Jill are parents to a nine-year old, an 11-year old and a 13-year old. “One thing I’ll say about my own journey is this: What should have been an easy choice — a no brainer — was the hardest decision I’ve ever made,” Jeff also wrote . “Once I came to terms with the fact that I was gay, I figured I had two options: I could die — either from my intentional neglect of my health and well-being, or perhaps from something even more tragic — leaving my children fatherless, or I could come out and hope that I remained surrounded by the love of my friends, family, wife and children.” During an interview with the Today show on Friday, Jill talked about breaking the news to the kids. She said her and Jeff’s 13-year-old daughter reacted with sympathy and even offered to hug her father, while their boys had more trouble with the announcement. Jill said they have “weepy moments” but have still been “incredibly mature” given the situation. “I have had probably 70 people message me or email me privately who are in the same situation,” she said on Today, adding: “This has been really good for me. For as many nasty comments as we get on the internet, every time I have put something out there that has made me feel super vulnerable or that was painfully honest, the response has always been amazing.” Scary Mommy has over 2.8 million Likes on Facebook. It is a go-to website for parenting tales and advice. Added Jeff in his Scary Mommy entry, focusing on what’s most important: Our children are amazing. They are all digesting the information in their own ways, but, boy, are they all also showing their true colors. Brush away all of the worst characteristics and idiosyncrasies one would expect from kids their ages, and we’re left with compassionate, thoughtful, wonderful children.

Kailyn Lowry: I Cheated on Javi Marroquin!

We may never know exactly what caused the  Kailyn Lowry-Javi Marroquin divorce , but with passage of time, a clearer picture of the couple’s issues is beginning to develop. Both parties have been accused of infidelity over the years, but Kailyn has undoubtedly taken the brunt of the online allegations, with many fans claiming to have unspecified evidence that she cheated on Javi . Now, those accusers may have been vindicated by what they feel is Kailyn’s on-air confession. On last week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 , we saw yet another fight between Kailyn and Javi, which is pretty much a weekly occurrence at this point. (Remember when they promised an amicable divorce with their son’s happiness as their top priority? Ha!) During the argument, Kailyn appeared to contradict herself, at first claiming that she hadn’t cheated on Javi, then admitting that she “slept with someone else.” “I know what I do, I have nothing to cover up — I’m not sleeping with all these dudes! So don’t sit here and try to make me sound like some ho while you were gone,” she shouted after Javi accused her of cheating again. “I’m sorry we weren’t going to work it out, yeah — I slept with someone else, whoopty f–cking doo.” Not surprisingly viewers leapt on what they saw as an admission of infidelity but it might not be that simple. Kailyn may have been speaking hypothetically – suggesting that it wouldn’t be a big deal if she had cheated. Or, she may have been inarticulately trying to say that she slept with someone else after she and Javi broke up. Either way, Javi wasn’t having it when Kailyn tried to make nice on the live TM2 after-show later that same evening. When Kailyn suggested that she would like to “build a friendship” with Javi, he wasted no time in clapping back on Twitter. “It’s not possible. I don’t need your ‘friendship,’” he wrote. “Don’t play Mother Teresa now.” It’s a little weird to accuse someone of cheating and accuse them of pretending to be a nun, but we think we get his point. Whatever the case, we think it’s safe to put those rumors about Kailyn still being in love with Javi to bed. If she still has feelings for the guy, she’s got some very strange ways of showing it.
