Prince Joins Twitter, Posts Photo of Salad, Does Not Know What Selfie Means

Three years after he declared that the Internet is over (really), Prince is finally on Twitter. And what a grand entrance he made to social media this week. Tweeting through the account of his band 3rdeyegirl, his first two Tweets were “PRINCE’S 1ST TWEET… TESTING 1, 2…” and “PRINCE’S 2ND TWEET.” Having apparently grasped the concept, the 55-year-old music legend then did what any good Twitter user does and posted a photo of his dinner. The caption: “PRINCE’S 3RD TWEET: DID EYE ADD 2 MUCH PEPPER?” Not sure about the pepper, but that is a nice-looking salad. Rather than call it quits while he was ahead, Prince kept on Tweeting, bestowing upon the universe his “1st SELFIE” … which is just a picture of some smoke. Dude, Prince. You have to be in the pic. For proper selfie demonstration, we recommend: Jenelle Evans photos Justin Bieber pics Rihanna pictures That is how it’s done. Unless you were going for a performance-art style Tweet and implying that you ARE smoke. In which case, well played Prince.

Happy 23rd Birthday, Jennifer Lawrence!

A THG favorite celebrates her birthday today. Oh, yes, readers, Jennifer Lawrence is now 23 years old! The young actress has sky-rocketed to enormous fame since being cast as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games , earning an Academy Award last year for her portrayal and Silver Linings Playbook and coming across as generally awesome. She adores Jeff Bridges . She photobombs Sarah Jessica Parker on the red carpet. She thinks the paparazzi should all be arrested . Seriously, she’s the coolest. So cool, in fact, that Lawrence received top birthday billing today on THG, despite the fact that Joe Jonas turns 24 today and Ben Affleck turns 41. J. Ryan Gosling Sex Tape: Desired by Women Everywhere!

They may have seen him shirtless, but women now want to see a lot more. In a new survey conducted by Vivid Entertainment and XCritic (dot) com, Ryan Gosling was named the actor most respondents want to see in a sex tape. Which makes sense, considering Gosling was also named the most f-ckable male star in a separate online poll a few months ago. Gosling earned the naked distinction by winning 21.6 percent of the vote. He was followed by Brad Pitt with 17.2 percent… Channing Tatum at 15.6 percent… and  Matthew McConaughey and Johnny Depp, both with 12.7 percent.  Somehow, Robert Pattinson didn’t even break double digits. In April, Jennifer Lawrence won the same survey on the female side, making it clear that a Gosling/Lawrence amateur porn would even put the Farrah Abraham sex tape to shame in the sales department. The only question: What would we call it? The Horny Hungry Games ? The Naughty Notebook ? Duck Dynasty Season 4 to Premiere On…

The bearded men of Duck Dynasty are ready to take over the television world once again this summer. A&E has announced that Season 4 of this overwhelming hit will kick off with a one-hour installment on Wednesday, August 14 at 10/9c. It will feature all the members of the Robinson clan with whom we’ve grown familiar over the past couple years, along with a new cast addition: Alan Robertson, the one beardless Duck Dynasty brother . Duck Dynasty was the number-one unscripted series on cable last season, averaging an incredible 8.4 million viewers per week. That also made it the number-two series on ALL of cable behind The Walking Dead . On the season premiere, meanwhile, look for the family to surprise Phil and Kay on the couple’s 49th wedding anniversary.

Jack Osbourne Petitions Rolling Stone to Donate Profits From Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Issue

Jack Osbourne has started a petition urging Rolling Stone to donate all of its profits from the new issue featuring a Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover story. The magazine ignited national outcry when it unveiled its August cover, humanizing the man allegedly behind the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Seeing Dzhokhar Tsarnaev a la Jim Morrison or Bob Dylan on the cover sparked more than a few boycott efforts , but Jack came up with an alternative. His petition on Change.org encourages Rolling Stone to donate all profits , retail and ad-based, from the current edition’s sale to the bombing victims. “Glamorizing a suspected terrorist on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine is not controversial, it’s just wrong,” the son of Ozzy and Sharon writes. “Innocent people have been killed or injured by his alleged actions. There is no justification for awarding him a cover traditionally reserved for entertainment icons.” “It is this kind of action that encourages other sick individuals to act out in hopes of earning notoriety or martyrdom for their cause,” Jack adds. Osbourne points out that his petition is not in response to the cover story, which explores in detail how Tsarnaev went wrong, but the cover itself. “We support the first amendment and the freedom of the press, but we do not support glorifying suspected terrorists in this manner,” he insisted. “The innocent victims, their families, the first responders, and the people of Boston are the ones who deserve to be honored and remembered.” The petition has quickly generated more than 25,000 signatures of support, but whether the pop culture publication considers the idea is far from certain.

Jennifer Lawrence Fangirls Out, Videobombs Jeff Bridges at Comic-Con

Jennifer Lawrence has already been fully embraced as the “everygirl”. When we see things like this video of her getting legitimately star-struck after seeing Jeff Bridges at a Comic-Con event, it just cements her in that role.  Skip ahead to the 2:25 mark and watch it all go down: Jennifer Lawrence and Jeff Bridges at Comic-Con Lawrence, there to promote her many movies, and of course for the premiere of the newest  Catching Fire trailer , delights in taking over an interview with Bridges. After she tries to prompt him into admitting that “The Dude” was his favorite role (how could it not be?), Bridges actually gives a plug for the upcoming  Out of the Furnace , directed by Scott Cooper. Jennifer Lawrence to Shailene Woodley: Stay Away from Sex Tapes!

At a Comic-Con panel discussion for Catching Fire this weekend, Jennifer Lawrence talked about snot and slobber . In a discussion with fellow young star Shailene Woodley, meanwhile, the actress talked drugs and sex tapes. With Woodley about to embark on a Young Adult franchise of her own, Divergent , the rising star tells Vanity Fair that she hasn’t actually ever met Lawrence. But the two have exchanged messages and Lawrence has offered Woodley what sounds like winning advice. J. Law apparently told the ex-ABC Family actress that starring in Divergent “will be the best thing that ever happened,” but then she warned: “Don’t be an idiot, do a sex tape, [or] do drugs. And go to Whole Foods when your movie opens.” Somewhere, Kim Kardashian is wondering what the heck Lawrence means. And someplace else, the THG staff is once again shaking our heads over how awesome Jennifer Lawrence is.

Lauryn Hill Thanks Fans For Support in New Letter From Prison

Lauryn Hill is speaking out from behind bars, where she’s doing three months for tax evasion , in a new letter she penned thanking her fans for support. Hill, who was sentenced on July 8 for failing to pay $1 million in taxes over the past decade, also talked a bit about her experience in prison so far. Hill’s team shared the message on her Tumblr , explaining that she can’t personally answer all the fan mail she’s received, but she appreciates it. “Ms. Hill receives a lot mail, and would like to let everyone know that she is doing well,” her page reads. “She also asked me to pass along this message: “I have known since very young to look for the purpose and lesson in everything, including the trials. Although it has taken some adjustment, I cannot deny the favor I have encountered while in here, and general warm reception from a community of people who despite their circumstances, have found unique ways to make the best of them. Thank you for the letters of concern and well wishes that I receive in the mail every day. Although I may not be able to write everyone back, please know that they have been received, read, acknowledged, and appreciated. With Love back, MLH” Lauryn Hill also listed the names of dozens of fans who have personally written to her, thanking them “for their words of encouragement and support.” Not as combative as previous Lauryn Hill rants , but maybe that’s a good thing. She should be out of federal prison in Danbury, Conn., where she resides in open dormitory-style living quarters and does manual labor, by October.

Comic-Con 2013: Movie News Roundup!

Now that the whirlwind that is San Diego Comic-Con has ended, let’s take a look at all the big movie news that came out of the long weekend. Plenty of posters, news, and teasers… including the wildly anticipated Catching Fire trailer and our first look at the  Veronica Mars movie! Catching Fire Trailer (Comic-Con 2013) Veronica Mars Movie Trailer Follow the jump for THG’s official Comic-Con movie news roundup! Godzilla  descended upon San Diego with an angry fury. Batman will be part of the  Man of Steel sequel . Jennifer Lawrence had a bit of a slobber problem while filming  Catching Fire. The  Guardians of the Galaxy cast was announced, including Benicio del Toro. Vin Diesel hinted at a Marvel role although Kevin Feige later put the kibosh on the rumors. Captain America and company learned the title of their sequel,  The Avengers: Age of Ultron Dawn of the Planet of the Apes  released the first image of Cesar . A new  Kick-Ass 2 redband trailer  showcased a bit of that violence Jim Carrey is not okay with. Electro was properly introduced in the  The Amazing Spider-Man 2 teaser trailer . The entire cast of  X-Men : Days of Future Past was introduced. Andrew Garfield is a big fan of the new Spidey suit … for good reasons. Tom Hiddleston proved he is Loki at the   Marvel panel.

Sam Claflin as Finnick: First, Shirtless Look!

Just when you thought it could not any better than the new Catching Fire trailer that debuted Saturday at Comic-Con… Lionsgate has released the first true photo of Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair, the dashing victor from Suzanne Collins’ best-seller who causes confusion and attraction for Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss. And it’s not hard to see why, is it? Claflin was confirmed for this role last August, beating out such better known names as Channing Tatum and Armie Hammer. We’ve seen a Finnick portrait already and we’ve seen his Catching Fire profile, but this is our first look at the character in his often-half-naked state.
