The singer and the rodeo star announced today that they are splitting after nearly six years of marriage. “My husband, friend and partner of 16 years and I have decided to get a divorce,” Jewel blogged this afternoon. “Ty and I have always tried to live the most authentic life possible, and we wanted our separation as husband and wife to be nothing less loving than the way we came together.” Jewel and Murray exchanged vows in the Bahamas in 2008 after dating for a decade. There comes a time in every middle aged popstar’s career where she throws in the towel and says “I’m too old for this, maybe I’ll just go on to sing popstars”….or she doesn’t….
