It was a bad night on American Idol Thursday for a certain long-haired singer with a high-pitched singing voice. But it was an incredible evening for fans of Jennifer Lopez, or sexiness general, as the judge premiered the full-length music video for “Dance Again.” It featured such lines as “I love to make love to you, baby. So many ways I wanna touch you tonight,” along with the sort of moves you would expect to accompany these lyrics, many of them performed with Casper Smart , J. Lo’s 24-year old boyfriend. Is there trouble in paradise for Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney? And is her ex-beau Luc Carl the cause of it all? According to a new tabloid report … very possibly. Yes, Gaga and Taylor recently went on a double date with Emmy Rossum and her BF, but Luc Carl has always held a special place in the singer’s heart. A source tells Radar that her fling with actor Kinney, a model/actor who has appeared on The Vampire Diaries , is cooling off after many months of bliss. And guess what? Luc still has feelings for her. “They never really gave up on each other: they’ve been talking a lot lately,” the source says of Carl, who recently authored a book called The Drunk Diet. Seriously, he did. And he talks about their breakup in it. “The breakup with my girlfriend was rock bottom,” Luc explains in the book. “It took me about a week to realize she was right. I was f–king miserable.” The 26-year-old Gaga, who plugged Luc’s book to her 22 million Twitter followers March 25, is “impressed by how ambitious he’s become.” Interesting. “He wrote the book and is opening his own club,” the insider says, predicting that Luc and his longtime Lady will “ probably end up together again.” Having seen the error of his ways, whatever those were, he is expected to meet up with Gaga in their native NYC in the near future. Throughout his run on American Idol , which came to an end on last night’s results show , Deandre Brackensick was easily the most polarizing contestant on season 11. And the long-haired crooner knew it, based on an interview he gave to E! News soon after Ryan Seacrest broke the bad news to him on national television. “My style, you either love it or hate it,” Brackensick said . “And, you know, R&B is so unappreciated right nowadays and I really want to bring it back, so I kind of had a feeling somewhat. Things happens for a reason and it’s not the end. Just gotta keep fighting for it.” Jennifer Lopez said she tried to save Deandre last night, but she was outvoted by Randy and Steven. Still, you won’t hear this aspiring star complain. Quite the opposite, in fact. “I understand where the judges are coming from. I’ve already been saved once and you only get so many chances, so I wasn’t ready for America right now. I agree with them 100 percent. I agree with the judges, I agree with Jimmy [Iovine] and what happened. I’m just grateful I got to this point.” Do you think Brackensick should have been sent home this week?
Sounds like Jesse James has been reading Bristol Palin’s memoir Not Afraid of Life . Okay, probably not. But he is back with a new reality show and is defiant as ever. “I’m not afraid of s–t,” James proclaimed to E! Online this week while promoting Jesse James: Outlaw Garage , his new Discovery Channel special premiering April 9. “Everyone can say whatever they want about me and call me whatever, but guess what? I’m still standing . I think I’m in a pretty awesome place in life.” That he is, it’s just not in Hollywood. James now resides in Austin, Texas, and slowly returned to TV with an appearance on Discovery’s American Chopper: The Build-Off in December. Outlaw follows James and his team at the Austin Speed Shop as they rebuild a 1932 Ford Roadster. He’s hoping it will soon become a regular series. In any case, he’s not gonna let the sex scandal(s) that torpedoed his marriage to Sandra Bullock (or his engagement to Kat Von D ) get the best of him: “In light of everything that’s happened, I think I came out of it a better dad and a better person while living and working in a place that’s like heaven to me.” James, who sort-of trash talked Sandra on American Chopper, says fans can expect a little bit of an update on his life when his new show debuts. “There’s a little bit of personal life [in Outlaw ] with the kids and kind of explaining where I am now,” James said. “I hate those words ‘reality TV’ because I think this is a refreshing change because none of it is scripted … there’s no made-up drama.” Hey, if anyone knows non-made-up drama, it’s Jesse James. You know what they say: if at first you succeed historically well at covering a late legend, try, try again. That’s exactly the advice Jessica Sanchez took on American Idol this week, as she followed up her version of Whitney Houston’s ” I Will Always Love You ” from last month with a take here on the more upbeat “How Will I Know?” Was it on par with Jessica’s initial Whitney performance? No. But that would have been nearly impossible to match. The judges were clearly impressed, with Jennifer Lopez expressing shock over such a big voice emanating from such a small body. The ab-tastic star will appear alongside her dancer boyfriend, Casper Smart, in her video for “Dance Again.” In stills posted on her official website , she appears in a body-hugging, midriff-bearing outfit as Smart ties a blindfold around her that reads “Love Is Blind.” In another still, the roles are reversed, and Smart dons the blindfold as she caresses her tatted lover from behind. In the past, Lopez appeared alongside real-life loves Diddy, Ben Affleck, Chris Judd and Marc Anthony in music videos. This is the first time Smart will appear in a video with his superstar girlfriend, whom he reportedly began dating late last year. The video will debut Thursday during “American Idol.” “Dance Again” reunites Lopez with her “On The Floor” pals rapper Pitbull and producer RedOne. “I love being able to collaborate with the producer RedOne again, and working with Pitbull again,” Lopez recently told her “American Idol” pal Ryan Seacrest . “We had a great chemistry the last time, and it was like, ‘We’re going to have to do something again.’ And this was the perfect song. I love the message of the song. That when something bad happens, your life is not over. You have to get up. You’re gonna live. You’re gonna to be okay. You’re gonna dance again.” Lopez is expected to drop an album in the near future, but she wouldn’t confirm whether or not it will be a greatest hits album. “I’m working on a collection of songs right now, and I don’t know what I’m going to do with them, but here’s the first single!” she said, adding, “”I think when it came to me it was the perfect moment. I definitely related to that. I think it’s a good thing to put it out there right now, because everybody goes through tough moments. Everybody goes through hard times, and I am no stranger to that myself.” Late last year, producer Kuk Harrell teased the project, which may also feature production from The-Dream and Tricky Stewart.
