Hoy In Mi Gente News: Marc Anthony Owes The IRS Some Serious Gwap… Again

We would have expected for Marc Anthony ‘s union to La Lopez to do for his finances what it did for her credibility as a Latina. But apparently, he’s still not paying his bills. The IRS is saying he owes them a couple million bucks for the second time in less than five years. The husband of superstar Jennifer Lopez may own millions of dollars in unpaid taxes, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned. New York authorities filed a demand for $1.8 million in back taxes against Marc Anthony on March 29, 2010 in Nassau County, Long Island. Just three months earlier, a federal tax lien for $1.6 million was placed on the same property owned by the I Need To Know singer. It’s unclear if Anthony has settled the debt and requests for comment from his lawyer and manager were not returned. Facing debt in excess of $3.4 million, it’s the latest tax trouble for the mult-millionaire musician, 41, who married J.Lo in 2004. In 2007, he was ordered to pay $2.5 million in back taxes, after ignoring the tax man for four years. Anthony claimed it was the fault of his business management company and ultimately paid the fine, however, his financial team pleaded guilty to a series of tax felonies. Jay-Z, Kardashians And Other Celebs Hold New Year’s Eve Bashes To Crash

We take a look at the parties hosted by everyone from Rihanna to 30 Seconds to Mars on Friday night. By Kara Warner Jay-Z and Chris Martin Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Ah, New Year’s Eve. A night for outlandish celebrations, noisy party favors, fireworks, countdowns, kisses and, sometimes, plain-old debauchery. The haters out there refer to December 31 as “amateur night,” referring to the common phenomenon of revelers’ tendencies to overindulge themselves with partying and adult beverages. The non-haters, however, take advantage of the holiday’s merry theme to get dressed up and attend a fancy party. Maybe even a fancy party at a nightclub, hosted by a celebrity. For those looking to possibly rub elbows with a celeb, if you live in or are heading to Miami, Las Vegas or New York, you’re in luck. The soirees hosted by famous faces are a-plenty in those towns. The biggest event in Vegas looks to be the grand opening of the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. On Thursday, Florence and the Machine will perform at the opening of the casino’s Marquee nightclub and then on Friday, New Year’s Eve, the party includes a star-studded dinner and performances by Jay-Z and Coldplay. Celeb attendees expected to start 2011 at Marquee include: Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Alex Rodriguez, Mark Wahlberg, Kristin Davis, Ellen Pompeo, Rashida Jones, Kellan Lutz, Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan, Haylie Duff, Nick Zano, James Marsden, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Tim Olyphant, Leah Remini, Tyler Perry, Abigail Spencer, Emmy Rossum, Jessica Szohr, Mark Salling and Selita Ebanks. Other celeb-hosted parties at venues on the Las Vegas Strip include a 30 Seconds to Mars performance at the Pearl Theater in the Palms Hotel and Casino; B.o.B and Bruno Mars at Jet Nightclub in the Mirage Hotel and Casino; Diddy at LAX in the Luxor; “Girls Next Door” alum Holly Madison at Lavo in the Palazzo; Jay Sean at the Bank in the Bellagio; Kim Kardashian at Tao in the Venetian; Nelly at HAZE Nightclub in ARIA Resort and Casino; and last but not least, Rihanna will be at PURE Nightclub in Caesars Palace. Miami features a similarly star-studded list of affairs. Usher, Trey Songz and Miguel will perform at the American Airlines Arena, after which Songz will head to LUX nightclub to host their festivities. Drake is hosting a party at Wall at the W South Beach, along with DJs Sinatra, Phresh and Jacomino. Porn actress-turned-“Entourage” hottie Sasha Grey is hosting a celebration at Catalina Beach Club. Leona Lewis and Natasha Bedingfield will perform at the South Beach Jam on the Sand, where streets will be closed to cars for a three-day party leading up to the Orange Bowl. Kourtney Kardashian will be at Plunge in the Gansevoort South Hotel, and Lil’ Jon will DJ and MC at Cameo nightclub, while Nicki Minaj is hosting an “All Pink Everything” shindig at Mansion with the Harajuku Barbie Dancers. And then of course in New York City, MTV will be ringing in the New Year with comedian Whitney Cummings, a performance by Flo Rida and some fist-pumping action from our very own “Jersey Shore” cast, who will premiere footage from their upcoming new season. Which celebrity would you want to spend New Year’s Eve with? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Chris Harrison Teases, Hopes For Bachelor Pad 2

Bachelor Pad was a sleeper hit this summer. Sure, it has none of the Bachelor spoilers , scandals or love triangles that make its parent shows so compelling. But the competition was definitely fun. As such, host-pimp Chris Harrison wants to run it back with some changes, and thinks there’s a good chance ABC will give producers that opportunity. A dramatic scene from the first season of Bachelor Pad . “It’s not official, but I’m hearing good things from everybody at ABC and the creators of the show,” says Harrison. “Everybody wants to do it again.” “Nobody has officially signed on the dotted line, but I feel really good that it’s going to happen again. ABC really liked what it did for them.” “It helped fill that summer void. It was a reunion show without being a reunion show. We were able to turn our reunion show into a game show.” The first Bachelor Pad , won by David Good and Natalie Getz , could set the stage for a bigger and better version come next summer, as well. “With a little more time, a little more money and energy, it would be a much better show. I think we all want a second shot,” Chris said. We can only hope he gets it.

Steven Tyler Won’t Act Like Simon Cowell

Having already sat in for numerous season 10 auditions, Steven Tyler has a clear idea of how he’ll serve as an American Idol judge. And it won’t be akin to a certain cantankerous Brit. “I’m really not one for giving insults,” Tyler says. “[Contestants] have a voice and I don’t want them not singing to their kids when they grow up.” The show will likely feature fewer trainwrecks during its opening set of episodes, which should make things easier for Tyler. Below, however, this Christmas promo does give voice to those without a good voice: American Idol Christmas Promo As for his new partner in judging , Tyler has nothing but great things to say about Jennifer Lopez. “First and foremost, she’s a lady and she’s not afraid to show that at any given time… she’s exactly what I thought she’d be. She’s street.” Well… okay then. Chime in now, readers: Are you excited about the addition of Tyler and Lopez to American Idol?

Jennifer Lopez Sued For Ruining Ojani Noa’s Life

You can sue anyone here in America, but a lawsuit filed against Jennifer Lopez by the girlfriend of her first husband Ojani Noa may take the frivolous cake. Claudia Vazquez filed a $10 million suit against the American Idol judge , claiming that Lopez “attempted to torpedo a movie” about Ojani Noa’s life. A few thoughts: Is this the J. Lo sex tape he tried to peddle last year? How would Lopez torpedo a movie about him exactly? Who the HELL would watch a movie about OJANI NOA?! Ojani Noa was one of several people briefly married to Jennifer Lopez .

Akon, Jason Derulo Make 2010 The Year Of The Self-Referential Song

Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Eminem also among the artists who have shouted out their own names in their tunes this year. By Jocelyn Vena Akon Photo: Matt Jelonek/ Getty Images This past weekend on “Saturday Night Live,” Akon joined the Lonely Island guys in a hilarious video for a new song called “I Just Had Sex,” in which the singer proudly sings his own name, as well as the group’s. , meanwhile also got self-referential at the VMAs, when she Auto-Tuned her way through a pre-taped bit with Best New Artist nominee Jason Derulo. And, to be fair, we here at MTV News have been obsessed with pop stars singing their own names in songs for the bulk of 2010, prompted by Derulo’s epic use of the device in several of his hits. Folks like Derulo, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj (“Right Thru Me”), Kanye West (“Dark Fantasy”) and, obviously, Akon join a list of two decades’ worth of pop artists who have taken it upon themselves to brand their tracks with their own names. In the ’80s, stars like Janet Jackson, Beastie Boys and New Kids on the Block proudly proclaimed who they were in their songs. Moving into the ’90s, “TRL” staples such as the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Lopez, Kid Rock and Eminem all blasted their monikers on their tracks, letting fans know just who was singing or rapping through hits like Rock’s “Bawitdaba” and BSB’s “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” As the new millennium approached and the musical landscape became more and more flooded with pop stars, it became a regular practice, with everyone from Ciara to M.I.A. to Fergie to Beyonc

David Banner Says T.I. Has Always Battled ‘Adversity’

Mississippi rapper says Tip is ‘probably one of the strongest dudes that I ever met’ during ‘RapFix Live’ interview. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Sway Calloway David Banner Photo: Jonathan Goldner/ MTV News According to David Banner, T.I. is gonna get back up from his latest drama . During the latest installment of MTV News’ “RapFix Live,” the Mississippi MC’s sit-down was preceded by an exclusive interview with Tip about his music and how the trials of the past year have influenced his work. Banner, who is friends with T.I. and crafted his bouncy Trap Muzik single “Rubber Band Man,” said he’s more concerned with how the ATL spitter’s family is dealing with the superstar’s sentence, and remains confident Tip will snap back from his latest setback. “T.I.’s probably one of the strongest dudes that I ever met. Since the first day I met him, he was the shortest dude in the room but had his chest poked out the furthest [and] always kept his head up,” he said. Banner noted Tip’s resilience both as an artist and a businessman, one who engineered a fruitful deal with Atlantic after his debut outing with Arista went south. “Even when his first situation went down with the label, he totally pulled [himself] off the label and started back over again,” he remarked. “He’s been one person who’s been up against adversity all of his life.” Banner further commented that regardless of T.I.’s status as the King of the South, CEO of Grand Hustle or trap-music kingpin, behind the fame, he’s a fallible, flawed, flesh-and-blood human being — just like everyone else. “Everybody expects entertainers to raise [their] family. One thing that he said that really struck me is that we’re still men; there’s still certain repercussions as black men in America with everybody’s eyes being on you. From the streets to business, we’re still men, we’re not gods. We’re not perfect,” Banner continued. “The thing that America has done, every mistake that a young black man makes — and not that he couldn’t have made better decisions — but in life, period, everybody that’s behind these cameras that’s on the Internet or whatever, look at the mistakes you make every day in life. If you made one or two mistakes, and then every time you make one or two mistakes, everybody is on you, that’s a lot of pressure as a person.” What do you think of David Banner’s comments about T.I.? General David Petraeus Tops ’10 Most Fascinating People of 2010′ List

Key player in guiding Afghanistan conflict beat out Justin Bieber, LeBron James on annual list. By Mawuse Ziegbe The cast of “Jersey Shore” on ABC’s “10 Most Fascinating People of 2010” special on Thursday Photo: ABC As Barbara Walters put it, her rundown of the year’s biggest movers and shakers, the “10 Most Fascinating People of 2010,” was definitely “eclectic.” After several revealing interviews with figures such as elderly “It” girl Betty White and the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” Walters and crew chose General David Petraeus as the most intriguing figure of the year for his role in the ongoing war in Afghanistan. Like last year, a Washington DC headline-maker topped the list, following First Lady Michelle Obama’s seat at the top spot in 2009 . Walters dubbed him “an American hero” for his efforts in the embattled region. However, most of the list was populated with stars known more for their ability to spark tabloid rumors instead of calm countries grappling with civil unrest. Octogenarian comedienne Betty White kicked off the list with a frank discussion of her 2010 spike in popularity, dubbing herself “overexposed.” The “Hot in Cleveland” star also spoke candidly about sex as she nears 90, proclaiming she gets busy if she “gets lucky!” Facebook founder and billionaire entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg was also profiled in a segment that noted his push for the dissemination of information in his professional efforts is at odds with the mysterious personal front he shows the public. Justin Bieber let Walters know that not only is he down to cut his hair, he plans to chop it off in the near future. The teen sensation also chatted about his love life and getting punished by his mom if he steps out of line. The castmembers of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” gave Walters a crash course in fitting in on the shore, explaining the meaning of “grenades” and showing the legendary news anchor the proper way to pronounce “smushing.” Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock also sat down with Walters to discuss the amazing highs and devastating lows of a year marked by an avalanche of professional accolades and a highly publicized split from philandering biker hubby Jesse James. Newly minted “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez also made the list, chatting about being a fan of the amateur talent juggernaut before she joined the show and spending more time out of the limelight with her husband of six years, Marc Anthony. Miami Heat baller LeBron James and the unprecedented media circus that ushered in the NBA superstar’s announcement that he was switching teams were also featured. Future royal Kate Middleton was also profiled as the woman poised to make her mark as a princess when she marries Prince William next year. Alaska politician Sarah Palin candidly remarked that she would consider a presidential run if she felt she could get elected, and maintained assuredly that she could take on President Obama in a race for The White House.

Ryan Seacrest Promises A ‘Wild Animal’ On ‘American Idol’ Panel

‘There will be a wild animal in one of the seats,’ host tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Ryan Seacrest Photo: MTV News The next season of “American Idol” will see Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler at the judges’ table alongside “Idol” vet Randy Jackson. Fans might expect both Lopez and Tyler to be wild cards in terms of judging the show, but the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, recently explained that someone on the panel is completely out of control. “We added a wild animal to the panel. There will be a wild animal in one of the seats,” Seacrest told MTV News at KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball 2010 in Los Angeles over the weekend, not specifying who that person is. “I can’t tell you which wild animal, but it was one that was on the ark. So that’s something that’s new. Yes, there’s a total animal.” Sure, the new judges are one reason to tune in to the coming season, but Seacrest is talking up the talent as well, giving the contestants two thumbs up. “The contestants that we found — we brought more kids back to Hollywood than ever before, there’s like 240 of them, so I think we’ve got a really good shot to find some fantastic [talent],” he explained. Lopez recently opened up about joining the juggernaut of a series, explaining that she’s really enjoying her place alongside Tyler and Jackson. “I love everybody,” she said. “It’s such a machine. It runs like clockwork. I love [executive producer] Nigel [Lythgoe]. I love Ryan [Seacrest]. I love Steven [Tyler]. I love Randy [Jackson]. Everything’s great!” While she’s managing to get along with everyone, judging people is a bit difficult for the singer/actress. “It’s easy when they’re really good and it’s easy when they’re really bad,” she said. “It’s when they’re in the middle. … It’s a really hard process. It just depends how you are in the audition. I think it is a good depiction of how the business is. I think it’s just fast-forward.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions.
